Saw the highlights from basco. I will say I was impressed with the play. Hoping Alhassan will be fit for the next game. I think we can do something against CIV if the midfield does well again.

It’s a matter of finding the right balance. How will the Aribo-Iwobi pair fair against big teams? This is a matter of familiarity, not necessarily top-notch chemistry.

zicky:
true talk. I notice the midfielders played better when Aribo came in.

Small small brother
Omanambala:
A grown man in his 40's shouldn't be this emotional and erratic like you. You have been attacking Nwakali for over 5yrs and he doesn't even know you. You are a me.n.ta.ll.y der. an.ge.d human
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 5:21pm On Jan 14, 2024
You are correct. I’m always at the opposing side from most. Although I didn’t watch the game I am beginning to think for once how we started may be a blessing in disguise.

But wait let’s wait to see the second game first. If the defence and midfield ticks, the attack will eventually come good.

mrwilliams9:
Until the tourney finish, I’ll save my assessment. Argentina still won the WC after losing their first match to KSA.

We just need to grow well in this tourney.

EG keeper is MOTM according to SofaScore

It’s the small teams (not São Tomé grade) that always trouble us under Jpes. And that does not guarantee we will do well against big teams..

Mujtahida:
Just before our match today, I watched Yekini's goals at Afcon 94. He was exceptionally good. He missed many chances against CIV in the semi finals but damn he stamped himself on the tournament.

How can Osimhen miss that kind of chance? EG had only one chance and they made good of it. I'm tired of small teams pulling their weight against us. Haba na. Yes football has changed but it's still football
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 5:11pm On Jan 14, 2024
The players Jpes initially left out will all come good. That’s the result of hunger. Don’t let any player feel unchallenged.

But he has good competition. Me I was already smelling jinx in that attack, going by the spate of injuries and replacements.

Curtisaxel10:
I am beginning to think we concluded too early about Osimhen. He clearly still has a long way to learn.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 5:06pm On Jan 14, 2024
Osimhen’s antics coming to AFCON training. This match go humble am. Make fans latch am.

Icon4s:
I have been saying it, I have never been impressed with Osimhen's performances in the Super Eagles. A player of his Caliber shouldn't be caught offside that number of times and that clear chance, haba. What a miss. This was a game we could have easily won.
We go face CIV.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 5:04pm On Jan 14, 2024
I’ve already been an advocate of competition. Widen the net.
Curtisaxel10:
I was shocked when the commentator said the biggest player on the Equatorial Guinea team plays for Las Palmas. The rest of them play in second and third division teams.

Their forward Nsue who terrorized our defence plays in the Spanish THIRD division as a RB.

My whole body just weak.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 5:03pm On Jan 14, 2024
That’s really bad.

Zaidu missed an open net , osihmen missed one on one , zaidu also missed one on one there are other chances wasted also
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 5:02pm On Jan 14, 2024
When I watch the game I will give my opinion. If we don’t do well against CIV, then we are in trouble.

Omanambala:
This is Aftican nations cup! You will not be treated special. Take your chances

On Enyema - Oliseh issue. I think both ex-players need to do the gentlemanly and settle. I don’t believe all Enyeama said. And even if Oliseh speaks on the issue, I wouldn’t believe everything.

Oliseh can be a great coach, but needs to improve on man management (your attitude determines your altitude)
