Wait for the group games first. This strategy has worked most times for me. Marjoribanks: My good bro. Nigeria will walk over this coming AFCON! We will win it! We could have walked over the last edition even without Osimhen if Iwobi did not get that red card!
The Senegalese won scoring from open play in just a single match! The Egyptians we walked over almost won it!
A well rested Super Eagles team will destroy any African opposition!
Yes! we drew Lesotho! It happens. (Remember, the Ivorians also laboured to a 1nil win over Lesotho)!
But drawing Zim that drew Rwanda which defeated South Africa is not a bad result.
At the last AFCON, Zim outplayed Senegal in every facet of play. Senegal won due to a controversial last minute penalty!
Analytically, Nigeria will be the team to beat!
During the tourney, I will be giving my prediction!
Egypt is the only North African team that will excel! |

1. Young player of the year 2. Assist of the year 3. Defender of the year If other committee members can tally the above categories to avoid too much work. AndSunGorilla: Thanks my oga!!!! I think we were quite close with our tallies ( just off by a few in some categories) and more importantly we arrived at the same winners. To your point, we can look at those ones that were close, not too many though. Thanks again. |

NOTE: 1. ONE invalid entry by a moniker. The invalid entry was the moniker who entered just numbers as their choices without specifying the categories. Since the moniker only made 13 votes instead of 15, there was no way to make anything out from their choices
2. A couple other monikers did not make their choices for ALL 15 categories. But ONLY their votes for the specified categories were entered anyway.
3. There were a couple monikers who quoted other's choices but did not make their own entries. These monikers really threw me off while feeding data into the program
Final votes from total entries, 65:

4 midfielders will be easier for Jpes to manage. Make we leave am to do his job. The end of his contract is near. charlesemeka85: NFF vs Jose Peseiro:
According to a media report, Jose Peseiro has named a final squad of 25 players for next year's AFCON, but the NFF has instructed the coach to select 27 players.
Peseiro has said, 25 players will be easy for him to manage instead of 27.

Well no problem. When the deadline for voting elapses, I can collate it with the program, while the rest of the committee members double check. to avoid INEC things. Danielnino00: The problem here is that Im not sure if Nairalanders will be so willing to click on a link that redirects them to another site to vote. i mean, if the voting is to take place on another site, then it is technically no longer a nairaland award. |

Well yes and no. The thing is that I’m not storing any data. I just run the program locally. This is more like for personal use for our specific purpose. Could be fully developed. But why do that when we have apps online, we could provide links for voters to enter their choices in future? Danielnino00: It sounds a bit like IBM SPSS, right? |

Nwakali to Osimhen daveP: Amokachi on creativity mode. This match showed the vision and quick thinking of the players. Something seriously lacking in this current set tbh. That Oliseh assist, e sure me that whoever was there after one look up would still be wasting time instead of dropping that Ozil pass once. |

So you just enter the choice of voter per category. If the entry is invalid it asks you to keep retrying until your choice matches a player in that category. Then it moves to the next category until all the votes are entered for that voter. Then it moves to the next voter. On and on until the last voter’s entry is entered and validated. Finally it prints out the winners per category after tallying all the votes. The good thing is that you don’t have the type the full names. Just a few letters of the name per vote. When there is a similarity (e.g the two Victors or other conflicts, it asks to retry until there is no conflict. Danielnino00: Oh. But can you briefly describe what the app does? |

I will say it here, unless we have a team firing all cylinders, you have to look elsewhere to fill some gaps — the backwater leagues in Europe and NPFL inclusive. The craze for players in the big leagues even when some of them are underperforming or lacking some specific skill set we need, will take us nowhere. When the games starts, it’s 11 vs 11. That’s what matters most. Today, I think Ismailia Sodiq of Remo Starts should be at least on stand by. Nwakali (who plays for lowly Chavez) definitely should make the cut. We lack quality crosses and dead ball specialist. These players bring that and even more.
Mod As much as you need accomplished players in the team, sometimes you need desire and ambition in the mix. This is where some seemingly unaccomplished players come in. And the context here is for a team that is performing far below expectation. A team like the current Super Eagles |
