Tobias Okiki Lawal.Good to see him against Liverpool and hope NFF can convince him to drop Austria citizenship cuz Austria law is against dual citizenship. It was this barrier that stopped him from featuring for Nigeria under Rohr.

Safarigirl the Law oya cuz you like seeing Nigeria national teams with cute guys and fine girls.

You don’t measure CDMs heavily on goals and assists. It’s a plus when he does though.

Nigeriagood:
ok o but he hasn't scored or assisted in four matches now 👏

Meliforme:
Nobody on this thread has defended Wilfred Ndidi in the manner i have done his defense.
They say he is limited, i reply that he is not as limited as he is made to look, just that he has been told to keep it simple. He has been told to keep it simple is a statement i kept repeating.

I have known Wilfred Ndidi before his days at Leicester, qualities don't just disappear.

Concerning Kelechi Nwakall, i always have this to say: Victor Osimhen, Kelechi Nwakali and Wilfred Ndidi are the most important players in S.E, very important to how we play. They are like the backbone Eguavoen talked about. Get these guys into the starting lineup and boost our chances of winning any game. This is not a mere talk, but a product of a painstaking research.

For sure
TheSuperNerd:
Let the season ride on. I would definitely do so with time. Putting everything together in one post.

Meanwhile, for now, as each striker pops up each week and we are in the mood, we could break down the unique quality or qualities of each striker outside the Top 3.

A fine discussion angle, Joebie. Kudos.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 12:40pm On Sep 16, 2023
I see everything revolves around Nwakali
charlesemeka85:
you can’t compare the championship to laliga 2 or even Chaves as a whole 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I will gladly welcome a player doing very well in championship clubs like Norwich, southampton,Leicester,Ipswich etc than a player from Chaves,Estrella, portimonense 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Nerdie, I’d like you to double down on this wirh SE in view. What is unique about each player, as well as which are similar? What will the outsiders (besides the top 3) bring to SE, that SE is lacking?
TheSuperNerd:
Nigeria's League of Extraordinary Hitmen

Nigeria is truly home to a special league of players.

TheGoodJoe calls them the League of Extraordinary Hitmen.

We have them in grades from A-Class to B-Class and to C-Class Strikers/Forwards.

They are:

🥇Victor Osimhen - Undisputedly World Class.

🥈Taiwo Awoniyi - Solid PL Performer who is relentless.

🥉Victor Okoh Boniface - Bundesliga's New Menace and a potential World Class CF with well rounded qualities.

4. Gift Orban - Another potential World Beater.

5. Terem Moffi - A Big Game Striker. On his day, he is literally unstoppable.

6. Kelechi Iheanacho - A 9 and a half. Clinical finisher. Incisive final ball expert. On his day, A bonafide game changer either as a 9 or an SS.

7. Sadiq Umar - A fit Sadiq is a big kanu-esque problem.

8. Akor Adams - New boy in Ligue 1. Still on the rise but will make a name for himself surely.

9. Ebere Paul Onuachu - Turkey based now but still an assured goals getter.

10. Emmanuel Dennis - Turkey based now too but when he really gets down to it, he can be menacing.

11. Etc.... for every other rising striker option out there across Europe and beyond.

Other mentions:

- Cyriel Dessers
- Josh Maja
- Chuba Akpom*

E no dey finish...

O pari
TheSuperNerd:
Not true @bolded.

JPes still doesn't know sh*t about what he needs in the middle. His list alone proves it. The only evidence that he knows lies in him inviting a player or two that will address those limitations.

Lookman and Iheanacho worked well majorly because the opponent was Sao Tome. Taking nothing from both lads but against Tougher opposition in African football, they both won't see, regularly, in a game the space they saw against Sao Tome in the half spaces and between the lines.

So playing Lookman and Iheanacho as false wingers behind Awo and Osimhen was just to overwhelm Sao Tome with our attacking prowess. Something they as a far weaker opposition obviously could not cope with.
