Romance / Re: What Destroy Your Feeling For Someone, You Were Once In Love With by joelsky: 7:07pm On Aug 25, 2023
Well, I can't say I was really in love with her as I never really told her I love her.

We had been good friends from 2011 till that year 2016. I had even visited her parents and she had visited mine.

The unrest in Jos forced her parents to flee to Osun state but we still communicated and kept in touch. I can say we were kind of fond of each other. We could communicate non stop over the phone for 45 minutes and we won't be bored. Physically I didn't see any thing wrong with her and even thought of marrying her. But deep down, I had that fear - she was a cherubim and seraphim. She had told me about '7-days trans and 14 days trans stuff'. It sounded demonic and scary to me anyways.

Well early 2016, she joked about coming over to meet me in Zaria and getting pregnant for me. Haaah, me that they called 'pastor', I had never had anything sexual to do with a girl, not even a hug or kiss (I was very shy though). I had to be alert, it won't work cos that wasn't the way I planned to live my life. Funny enough I was recording that conversation (I still don't know why I did?) before she uttered that statement.

Well, she came over (I was already comfy and living in my own apartment). Before then my mum had already warned me. So immediately she came over, we didn't stay in my apartment instead I brought her to the family house. Everything moved on smoothly at home till it was time for her to go back.

I brought her to my shop (I had a little business center then). We gisted as usual till she started saying 'she's going and I am not behaving like I have known her'. Well, I didn't get the message till she left.

She looked happy before she left sha. But to my greatest shock, I received one of the most degrading text messages. I have ever received in my life. Well, the words were unprintable and won't want to ever push them anywhere. Truth is, the less offensive sentence she wrote there is that she thought she was dealing with a man, but I'm a woman and she can never deal with such.

Well those words didn't make me a woman. Instead it made me more passionate to succeed. I knew instantly nothing could ever happen again between us.

We are still friends anyway, but I can never forget those words angry . I went on to marry the woman God had in store for me. She's also married too.

Klass99:

Please come I have questions;

1. What did you dream? As in what was the dream you dreamt to convince you she was the one? You know how Joseph dreamt of the sun, moon and 11 stars bowing down to him bah, what was your dream?

2. Did you guys implement a no sex policy during the dating and courtship phase? If yes, was that hard or easy to do? Did you even date for any reasonable length of time?

3. How long did you pray before receiving an answer and revelation? Did you combine your prayers with fasting?

I am curious because I have never seen or heard a man say he did what you did prior to marriage. In Naija people act like it is something only women do or it is only meant for women.

I actually saw your questions, but didn't have the time to answer then.
1. What did you dream?
The dream was clear because the night before that dream I prayed specifically for a partner, in that dream I was in a car that was filled with passengers and left with just one passenger space at back. Different people made attempt to occupy the last remaining seat. I refused because I wanted convenience and was willing to pay for the extra seat until a lady (the lady I married) came in.

Probably she had seen other people try to occupy the seat, because she uttered the words 'even me, won't you let me in?'. I finally agreed, and immediately she entered I woke up from that dream. Immediately I knew beyond every doubt that she was the one.
So many other events unfolded that confirmed she was God's plan for me.

2. Did you guys implement a no sex policy during the dating and courtship phase?
If yes, was that hard or easy to do? Did you even date for any reasonable length of time?

Hehehe. This is a church-moderated courtship. Deeper life for that matter. Very strict on issues like this. Courtship venue was a church premises. Once every 2 weeks for 8 months. We were given an outline that details everything that should be discussed by intending couples'.
It was a no-sex policy courtship and yes, it was very easy to do. Mind you, I never had sex with any lady before her.

3. How long did you pray before receiving an answer and revelation? Did you combine your prayers with fasting?

I have been praying about it since 2015. Without fasting though. I had one lady I was very close friends with, she was like an idol that prevented me from getting a clear answer. All through the prayers, I was hoping I would get a confirmation that she was the one that would be my future wife. Physically, I didn't find any blemish in her, she was so nice so I thought she is the one. (Till Nov. 2016 when something scary happened and we parted). From that moment, I increased the intensity of the prayers as I was not having any real friend. I finally got the answer on February 9 2017. A Thursday night, I can't forget that night cos the dream came moments after I had finished praying specifically for a partner.

Wait, so you got married to someone you never dated before

Yes. Prior to the proposal, we never dated. I didn't even know her. I only know she was God's plan for me because I received a definite confirmation after months of praying for a partner.

I was already comfortable, I had a stable business and was working for a private firm. So my prayer everyday was for God to give me a spouse that would grant me real peace. I was so concerned about getting the right spouse because I have been opportune to witness marriages that failed due to the fact that the parties were not compatible.

I have always had that confidence that when I called upon God in prayer, I would get whatever I needed. The business and the job I got were all answers to prayers. When it was time to get married, I prayed and got confirmation she was the one through a dream. So I didn't need to have any fear about compatibility. I knew she was God's plan for me in marriage. And so far, my experience with her during the last 5 years have proved she was the perfect match for me.

Hehehe, mine was church-arranged proposal. I visited The marriage committee and told them of my desire to marry her. The committee fixed a date for the proposals after all the necessary interview and tests were conducted and deemed satisfactory.

Prior to that day, I had never approached the sister for any form of discussion related to love or marriage apart from greetings.

On that day set for the proposal, Nov 11 2017, I waited at the church premises (venue for the proposal) with my head full of the love sentences I had crammed. Immediately she arrived, my God! All the words I crammed disappeared. (I'm a very shy person and practically she was the first lady I was able to speak to/ toast/propose to. The other ladies I have had as friends, I couldn't speak to them, they had to be the one to toast me grin) Chai, I didn't know when I told her 'all the words have disappeared'. grin

It wasn't funny, she just replied it is well (and all became well). I just had to speak by fire by force, new set of words I never imagined came that moment.

I can still remember what I said,
... "God is not the author of confusion. I prayed for a woman who I would love, and who would be a perfect helpmate throughout all life's challenges and who would assist me on my journey to heaven and God revealed you to me. From that moment, there was genuine peace in my heart and I have loved you with all my heart since then. I sincerely love you and want you to be my wife."

She didn't say no. But she said she would go and pray about it. However, with the drama that took place before I spoke to her. I already believed she would later tell me a no. To add fuel to my fears, I was supposed to accompany her to the road for her to take a ride. However, her facial expression showed she wasn't enjoying my company, she walked very fast and left me.

Well, I finally got a yes after 3 (three) months. And we have been happily married for 5 (five) years.

Obviously, Maryam Muhammad Kabir (may her soul rest in peace - she died December last year).

I can still remember how the incident happened. I was very shy (I bet nobody can ever be as shy as I was then) and could never approach any lady. I think I was the only one among my peers that wasn't with a girlfriend.

On that day, 16th October 2007, I was in company of my friends when she came along. I whispered to one of them (my friends), 'this girl is beautiful' and that was all. They carried this matter for head and went to bring her to meet me where I was (The shyness was so great I ran 200 metres away from them to avoid the inevitable embarrassment).

When I saw her I was lost and confused. I couldn't utter a word, she literally toasted me grin. I still don't understand why she decided to be friends with me. There was a gulf in class (she is from a wealthy family though a northern lady).

Even though I loved her, I knew nothing serious could happen due to the gulf in class and religious differences. But I seriously needed that eye-opening relationship. Didn't regret knowing her.

Maryam, may your soul rest in peace. kiss

Sports / What Is The Fate Of Those Who Owe Before Their Death by joelsky: 11:18am On May 02, 2022
Dear Nairalanders, precisely 7 years ago, someone who was in the habit of borrowing and paying up late collected 5,000 naira from me with the promise of paying within 2 weeks. However, he failed to pay for over 2 months and avoided passing through my street to prevent me from confronting him about the debt.

I was happy to avoid him because I knew if he successfully paid the debt, he would surely come back to ask for more. One fateful Friday, on my way to the restaurant, I saw him fully focused on his phone (don't know if he did that to avoid communicating with me). I Immediately changed direction to prevent us meeting. Well, THAT WAS THE LAST TIME I SAW HIM. Two days later, he died on the road to a missionary outreach. I was shocked and sad not because I lost that money, but because the Bible says "owe no man anything.. ." ROM 13:8. I have since forgiven the debt.

Do you think that debt would in anyway affect him considering he was a good, born again Christian?

Religion / Re: Do Intending Christian Couples Really Hear From God Before Getting Married? by joelsky: 12:04pm On Apr 11, 2021
Well I don't know about the stories I'm reading here. But I heard from God before marrying. I can't forget the night I prayed for the will of God in marriage. That night God answered me in a dream. I dreamt and in that dream I saw the sister (don't want to go into long details). I knew instantly she was the one because I had peace of mind. Before the dream I never thought as a Yoruba man I would go for an igbo lady.

Not that I didn't have different other friends I could have married. But after this dream they fizzled out of my mind. In fact I had to stylishly tell them to look for their husbands (because many were already thinking I would propose to them).

Every step towards the marriage went on smoothly. All through the courtship there wasn't any major disagreement, in fact I was scared and tried to cause a misunderstanding at times to see her reaction. We have been happily married for 2years plus. And different favours and promotion have followed. We may have few disagreements but within minutes we are good to go. She has gone on to be my best friend, play and prayer partner.

GOD STILL HEARS AND SPEAKS.

Literature / THE PASSWORD: The Story Of Shola by joelsky: 9:22pm On May 08, 2020
‘Mummy O! My life has scattered’, ‘O Jesus! I am finished’ ‘My village people! Oh my village people, what have I done?’ with hot tears flowing ceaselessly, Shola had come to the reality that her wedding ceremony billed for 1st May 2020 was not going to hold again. But WHAT HAPPENED? Read on!

Eight (cool years ago Shola’s uncle fulfilled his promise of purchasing an android phone once she completes her secondary school education – a Tecno N3. All these while she had been intimidated by the incessant stories of ‘Facebooking’ and ‘Whatsapping’ by her friends. Desperate to join the gang, she quickly purchased a data plan to start browsing and facebooking. However she was faced with a big issue, she needed a g-mail address! She hadn’t operated a phone before and she wasn’t a computer literate!

As early as 8am the next day Shola rushed into Bigbros Cybercafe, ‘I want to open a g-mail address, I just got a new android phone and I want to Facebook and Whatsapp as soon as possible’ she barked. ‘Okay, opening a g-mail address costs ₦200 naira, can I go ahead?’ said the Cafe guy. ‘Yes of course! Use ‘sholahasarrived@gmail.com’ as my address and please use my phone number ‘08012345678’ as the password. In less than 5 minutes the email had been setup, and within 15 minutes she registered her Facebook address using her phone number ‘08012345678’ again as her password.

Shola secured her phone with a pattern-password to prevent people from seeing her chats and pictures, however, unknown to her, Google keeps record of every activity she performs on her android phone including her YouTube Search and Watch history, browsing history, PICTURES (including deleted pictures), CONTACTS, location and PASSWORDS. Over the next 6 years, Shola had changed her phone 5 times. Before changing each phone, she had the habit of formatting the phone and removing the memory card believing all her pictures and secrets were completely erased. However she was wrong, Google was helping her SAFEGUARD EVERYTHING! YES EVERYTHING! In addition, while Shola was changing phones, she never saw the need to change her password to a more secure one!

Shola went on to bag a 1st Class degree in Economics from the prestigious UNN, within a short period of time she was gainfully employed. Because she was a very good mannered lady, she wasn’t short of suitors, many guys kept asking for her hand in marriage. After a very difficult decision, she decided Mr. Chima is the perfect man for her.

The preparations towards the marriage went on smoothly until she posted her wedding invitation on Facebook and on WhatsApp on 1st April, 2020. While several congratulatory calls and messages kept on coming. One of Shola’s contacts (Shasha) took her phone number, opened the chrome application on his phone and used her number (08012345678) number on ‘mail.google.com’ as a username, immediately the system prompted for a password, he pasted the same phone number (08012345678) and BOOM! He had access to her mails! He went ahead to visit ‘photos.google.com’ and guess what, he had access to all the pictures she snapped on her present and previous phones including the semi-naked and naked pictures she snapped while she was in the bathroom. ‘Ah! Naked pictures? Let me download them’ He screamed, Shola must have been visiting pornographic sites he thought. He swiftly went to visit ‘activity.google.com’, there he saw all the websites Shola had visited over the years and the Youtube videos she had watched in preparation for her wedding night.

That was not enough, Mr. Shasha the fraudster visited ‘passwords.google.com’ and BOOM! He had access to ALL THE PASSWORDS Shola SAVED on her phones including her Facebook, Twitter and Instagram Passwords. He swiftly logged into her Facebook and posted all the naked pictures he downloaded from her Google account, he also posted the screenshot of her chats with other guys and also the sites visited on her Facebook page. Few minutes later, Shola was shocked to receive several calls from different people about the updates on her facebook page. Before she could log into her Facebook account, Mr. Chima called to tell her IT IS OVER BETWEEN THEM. Immediately after Mr. Chima finished speaking with her, Shola’s manager Mr. Sackwell called to notify her of her immediate sack from her organization. Confused, she said ‘this must be April fool, after all, this is 1st April’.

The moment Shola logged into her Facebook account and saw what happened. She screamed ‘O Jesus! I am finished’ ‘My village people! Oh my village people, what have I done?’. While she was still weeping, Mr. Shasha wasn’t yet done with his deadly act; he went ahead to visit ‘contacts.google.com’, there he saw over 186 saved contacts. 22 of which were Shola’s favourite contacts, Mr. Shasha went ahead to try each of the 22 contacts on the site mail.google.com, he found out 8 of them - Grace, Sinble, Dilan, Veli, Chichi, Ruth, Hauwa and Chicky all used their phone numbers as passwords for their g-mail accounts. Shola’s 8 friends were not spared either as they had their share of the embarrassment.

Don’t be like Shola, Never use your phone number as your password. If you have done that already, PLEASE CHANGE IT NOW!. And please don’t use passwords like ‘123456’, ‘654321’, ‘Password’, they can be easily guessed. MORE IMPORTANTLY, please visit https://myaccount.google.com/activitycontrols and Pause all Web and App activity and delete all your browsing history, Turn off location history. As a matter of fact disable every form of monitoring.

Religion / Diaries Of Zee-bee-dee by joelsky: 11:06pm On Apr 26, 2020
ZEE-BEE-DEE

'Mr. Zee' is very outgoing, he makes friends easily, encourages others and is deeply religious. In the church, Zee is highly respected - his pastor loves to use him as an example during his sermons . However there is a part no one knows about Zee - he is a cultist, he lies, watches pornography and fornicates secretly.

'Uncle Bee' on the other hand is rich and happily married with two beautiful kids, he is called 'Pastor' in his workplace because of his gentleness, generosity, love for church and willingness to preach to anyone he comes in contact with. Unknown to his colleagues, Uncle Bee altered his age by three (3) years to meet the age requirements for employment in the organization. In addition, most of his nights are spent executing secret internet fraud a.k.a yahoo-yahoo.

What about 'Ms. Dee' - the most religious lady on campus, so reserved and decent, she has been nicknamed 'Holy Mary' by her course mates because of her chaste appearance. Nobody would believe she is into secret masturbation, lesbianism, deception and theft (she is fond of extorting huge sums of money from her parents in the name of course materials).

One thing is true about Mr. Zee, Ms. Dee and Uncle Bee, they have built a reputation for being fervent Christians among their neighbours and friends, but in reality they are wicked, their actions are DELIBERATE and not ACCIDENTAL. Their character (what they do when nobody is watching them) shows they are pretenders. Better explained - they are HYPOCRITES.
The hypocrite is a deceiver who is a danger to himself and people around him. Many marital and business relationships have ended on a sad note because one or both parties are hypocrites.

The Bible says "all have sinned" and are worthy of death. But God out of love for mankind sent forth his Son Jesus Christ to die on the Cross of Calvary to take away our sins so we don't have to die. (Rom 6:23). Meaning, anyone who truly confesses, forsakes his/her sins and ask for mercy from Christ Jesus instantly receives forgiveness of ALL SINS and power to become sons of God and therefore DOES NOT COMMIT SIN. Because "Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God." 1 John 3:9 KJV. This individual is therefore called a CHRISTIAN, meaning he displays attributes that are Christlike. Because Christ Jesus dwells in him and controls his thoughts, speech and actions.

If you claim to be a Christian, but still committing sin (whether in secret or in the open), don't be deceived, you belong to the devil and you are therefore under his bondage. Every act you display to appear good in the sight of people is plain hypocrisy because you are deliberate appearing to be what you are not. That particular evil deed you are hiding from the public makes you a HYPOCRITE. You think no one is watching you, but in reality God sees everything you think or do whether they are good or bad. (Jer 23:24) Sooner or later you would be found out. (Mk 4:22) And guess what - shame, hopelessness, confusion, loss and eventual death in hellfire shall be your portion if you don't amend their ways. (Isaiah 29:15-16)

The good news is you don't have to remain in perpetual bondage and deception from the devil. Christ is patiently waiting at the door of your heart, if only you would humble yourself and ask Him for total cleansing of your sins, He would surely do it. (For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:13 KJV). He would would give you freedom from every form of guilt and condemnation and make you ready for heaven.

The life you are living is borrowed, you are not promised tomorrow. This moment could be your last on earth! Remember God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil. (Ecclesiastes 12:14 KJV). Therefore, BE MORE CONCERNED ABOUT YOUR CHARACTER IN THE SIGHT OF GOD THAN YOUR REPUTATION IN THE EYES OF THE PUBLIC.

Get saved, be transparent, be Heaven-Bound!

Shalom!
