BusinessRe: Starting Up an Online Payment Solution by joftech(m): 1:34pm On Dec 10, 2005
Is it that you want to be offering the service or do you want to be accepting online payments.

If you want to be offering the service i think you must be a bank or have a bank with good interconnectivity to all their branches.

I think it's only banks that can pull off a working system as complex as this.

I think you can build a prototype of the system and demonstrate it to them propably they will lilke to partner with you.

Starting a service like this is very simple and easy if only the infrastructures are readily available.
BusinessRe: Organizing a Show or Match-viewing Center on Campus by joftech(m): 3:47am On Dec 10, 2005
I think the match viewing center will make more sense to people than a club. The only constrain is that you will need a whole lot of capital to be able to pull it off.

I once wanted to setup a match viewing center myself too and here are some of the cost on things you may need.

1.) DSTV Decoder (prefarably dual view) = about N60,000
2.) Rent
3.) 50 Plastic Chairs @ 900 each = N45,000
4.) 1 2.7 KVA Generator = N30,000 (2 will likely be needed)
5.) Electrical Installation
6.) AC (if you really want)
7.) 2 big TVs = N90,000
8.) 2 big fans = N30,000

My brother this business require some dough.

Van thank you for bringing another wonderful insight to this topic. I hope those that are using that Malachai chapter to deceive people on this thread will know better now that they are deceiving gullible Christians that are not ready to read the Bible themself.

The Bible has said it all
"Verify all claims in order to establish the truth".
THE TRUTH WILL ALWAYS SET YOU FREE.

I for once never agree with all the bullshit these Nigerian rappers are putting out.

It's either their lyrics are hard to hear or that they don't really make any sense.

I don't buy their cds and i will never do cos they really suck, i wonder how they manage to sell those cds (i think they have their voodoo to thank for that)

What is too big in this tithe of a thing?God gave money and ask us to give him 1/10th of it,just one of it,what is too big there that make us to argue, assuming God gave you #1000,the tithe there is only #100 thats all.I don't see what will make us not to pay it.
The Bible said "Verify all things/claims in order to establish the truth" So we must all verify if tithe paying is God's will or not.
ComputersRe: Cyber-cafe Operators in Festac Having Problems With Police (419) by joftech(m): 2:10pm On Dec 05, 2005
This country is more or less bleeped UP. Why will someone have to pay police illegal "protection money"? When they collect it is shiows they are giving people the go ahead to commit cybercrimes.

Anyway am still saying it they can't mess with me. I have never had any such incident in my place, and by God's grace it will never happen.
RomanceRe: Wife Material But Can't Speak Good English by joftech(m): 4:49am On Dec 04, 2005
I will rather go for her than go for a girl with queen's English. God did not make everything to be 100% OK for us all. At least her character has made up for her deficiency in English.

As long as she can write her name and express herself in very simple English am cool with her.

The American populate were surprised when Fantasia Barrino came out to tell the whole world that she is an illiterate, but that did stop her from being what she has become today.

Like i always said, your attitude is the main determinant in the equation of life , not your education.

Layi all you need is the right attitude toward her, trust me you will even forget that side of her that's pickling you about her.

ComputersRe: How Do I Get Bandwidth Via SAT-3? (NITEL Wholesale Internet Services) by joftech(m): 11:14pm On Nov 29, 2005
Getting any bandwidth capacity on VSAT is a very very simple task. As soon as you make your payment they will upgrade your site in less than a day.

For small time bandwidth users VSAT seems to be the only affodable way to the Internet these days.

It's so shameful for Alamesia, his wife, children and their whole family linage that one of their forebear has spoil their family name for life world wide.

If i were to be a family relation with Alamieyeseigha as my surname i will change it overnight with supersonic alacrity.

PoliticsRe: Bayelsa State Governor Escapes from London, UK (Now in Nigeria!) by joftech(m): 1:07pm On Nov 29, 2005
otokx it seems you are one of Alamesia’s cronies. I wonder how much he and his fellow crooks have given to you for you to be vehemently supporting him like this.

Obasanjo is fighting a noble war, caused are those that are not happy about bringing all those bastards that are bent on ruining the fortune of this country perpetually.

Alamesia has managed to steal about $1 billion during his reign as governor of a poverty ridden state.

To the best of my knowledge, Obasanjo is not profiling anybody for prosecution. His own buddy (Bode George) was even reportedly quizzed by EFCC last week.

I wonder where you are drawing your conspiracy theories from.

Otokx, the deployment of troops to Bayelsa /Yenagoa was done in order to forestall any unpalatable uprising among the restless groups in the Niger Delta region. We all know how lawless some of those youths are.

Alamesia is the biggest charlatan I have seen in the Nigerian political landscape, he attributed his escape from detention as an act of God, by saying this he lied under the oath of office which he avow to uphold (may that Bible he hold on that day judge him).

All right thinking Nigerian should rally round to see that he (Alamesia) and all others of his kind are wiped from the political landscape of this country, now and forever for posterity sake.

The cost implication for SAT-3 access is what that has been making me to shiver. I hope the price will go way down for small time users like me.

It's heart warming that Obasanjo has finally come out to talk about the Alamesia saga.

You can read more about it here.

I don't know if computel is in Ondo State. Am looking for a service provider that can give a WIMAX access to me but they must have a fibre optic link to the Internet.
PhonesRe: How Much Do You Spend on Recharge Cards? (Phone Cards) by joftech(m): 1:13pm On Nov 28, 2005
In Belgium, I spend €60 for a permanent cable connection to the internet (this gives me 10 Mbps down speed, 512 Kbps up speed, 4 IPs, 30 MB volume) there are cheaper product to have a permanent internet connection, but you don't have that many options
@nferyn, that's really really cheap compared to getting 128/64kbps for $600 a month.

As for me i don't like to make phone calls. I only do when that's the last and only available option.
I spend less than N100 a month at times.

I mostly chat/e-mail, it's cheaper and the benefits are abundant.
ComputersRe: How Do I Get Bandwidth Via SAT-3? (NITEL Wholesale Internet Services) by joftech(m): 12:49pm On Nov 28, 2005
That Starcomms and Computel are able to get it does not mean just everybody can get it.

I doubt if elaiho will ever be able to get SAT-3 access directly from NITEL, it seems they only sell to high networtht service providers (and i think that's the way it should be)

I need how much it will cost to get just 128/64 KBPS.

@Cimorjorr,What i reported about the former Mayor of Port Harcourt was carried by Rhythm 93.7 FM on their news bulletin at 7am.
I wonder when we start having mayors in Nigeria. I think you have been mis-informed by that radio station.
ComputersRe: How Do I Get Bandwidth Via SAT-3? (NITEL Wholesale Internet Services) by joftech(m): 12:16pm On Nov 28, 2005
SAT-3 in the hand of NITEL is pure rubbish. I have said it in one of my earlier posts that NITEL does not seem to have the technical manpower to provide reliable access to the Internet via SAT-3. I wonder how good their engineers are with router configuration and stuffs like that.

By now i expect them to have install routers in all the major zones where they will be having a distribution points. If the local staffs in their offices does not know the meaning of SAT-3 i wonder how they will respond to isssues when it crop up.

I saw an advert in last Wednesday Guardian by one Naira.com for SAT-3 services, will anyone pls shed more light on the company/service. It's very bad they don't have a website. rolleyes

ps.. Regarding the Tafa case, I agree 6 months is puny compared with the volume of cash he was alleged to have ripped-off.. I guess the prosecution didn't make a very good case during the trial.. Another perspective is that Tafa's case was a case of embezzlement... I guess he was not directly accused of taking a life or any other capital crime, hence the lack of severity of his sentence.. I hope he's made to forfeit his illegally acquired assets before he comes out of prison..
Although 6 months seems to be too small for Tafa Balogun, but that will make him to be refered to as "Elewon" for life.
TravelRe: US Diversity Visa Lottery (DV-2007) Registration: October 5 to December 4 by joftech(m): 8:10pm On Nov 27, 2005
Propably they are using the visa fee to tell Nigerians to stay in their country. Most of the people seeking visas do recount lots of hardships they are been subjected to.

And when they are refused visa you see them go about in a dejected mood.
TravelRe: US Diversity Visa Lottery (DV-2007) Registration: October 5 to December 4 by joftech(m): 8:44pm On Nov 26, 2005
@cheechako, what do you mean by saying they (Nigerian Visa Seeksers) are making the embassies rich. For sure i know the embassy is not forcing people to apply for visa.

When you did compare the amount they are charging in Algeria they are simply doing what is known as demand and supply cheesy cheesy cheesy.

I really thank you for xraying what's obtainable out there for Nigerians here to see.
PoliticsRe: Bayelsa State Governor Escapes from London, UK (Now in Nigeria!) by joftech(m): 11:24pm On Nov 25, 2005
I think he's going to be impeached. Once he is impeached, he can be bundled into a plane and sent to England to serve his jail term. When he returns to Nigeria, he can be charged again for the funds embezzlement through which he got this money in the first place.

Since he doesn't have any suport outside Bayelsa State, he is unlikely to escape from justice. Even his supporters (Ijaw Youth Congress) are beginning to say he can be impeached and prosecuted as long as it is done 'through the laid down process'.
I think Ijaw Youth Congress has now realized their folly after "eating" Alamesia money.

I was wondering if they ever know the enormity of Alamesia’s crime against them (the Ijaw people) and the Nigerian nation as a whole.

When money instead of good virtue becomes the paradigm by which some fools choose whom and what they support, they will always end up deriding themselves.
