I don't really think the new churches should be closed down. They can continue to preach what they are preaching but they should stop deceiving Nigerians into thinking that God will rain money from the sky for them.Some will go around town and organize crusades that are more or less fund-raising events.

The United States Civil Rights Movement started in the churches because that's the major meeting point for the blacks. In the US the Republican party don't joke with the votes of the evangelicals and these peoples (televangelist, etc) are one of the most strongest lobby group.


They should try and make their teachings relevant in todays world, not some historical teachings that has no impact or effect on what the masses are going through today. Teaching people what happened in Corinth in the days of Paul does not have direct application with what is happening in Ajegunle(Lagos) today.

If they failed to do this, i can see what happened in the western churches happening here.

They must make Nigerians realise that they are the only one who can save themselves from all the unending and untold hardships our leaders have subjected us into.

The revolution i have been advocating is not going to be the violent types that some people are so accustomed to, we could have the type (orange revolution) that swept off the former leader (Viktor Yanukovych) in Ukraine from power recently.

We must make these politicians know that power really belongs to the common man.

If pastors can tell their church members that their key to unlimited wealth is in government hands then church members will know how to demand for it vehemently instead of feeling unconcerned about what's going wrong with the country today.

Pastors can even start political parties, in some European countiries we have parties like The Christian Democrats, etc.

I used to wonder how with the number of churches in Nigeria why we still wallow is the endless abyss of corruption, poverty, self-centeredness and other uncountable societal ills.

At times what some pastors preach on television are so nauseating that they make me wonder where they are getting their purported inspirations from.

Some of these pastors will readily say we need prayer and that our sins are too many no matter what national issues are brought up. What most of them preach really shows they don’t even know what’s really going on in the outside world.

In the USA the liberation of the blacks started in the churches, why can’t Nigerians liberation start in all these churches, or do the pastors fear a crackdown on their churches if they preach revolution instead of all the unattainable prosperity sham they are churning out.

Why must the prophet in the land continue to lie to the people?

It's not that Nigeria is poor, the economy is what that make us bad. Am sure we will get there.

Comparing Nigeria to countries like USA, UK, Canada is the biggest folly of all time. It's just like comparing your fathers first child to the lastborn; "Bi omode ba laso bi agba, ko le lakisa bi agba".

To move this country forward we need parties that are Nigerians oriented, parties that are commited to empowering Nigerians.

How i wish i hold a strong political office. Am sure people will truly commend my efforts after my exist.

You will definately believe what they wrote because that's what you will know nothing else than what you are reading. Before it was widely believed that the earth was flat, but now we know it's not. Just because they erased history doesn't give them a monopoly on information. If anything, its a reason NOT to listen to the catholic church's teachings.

If you decide not to listen to the Catholic church then you are not a Christian. And remember power belongs to whomever has control over it.

To me MDD is not yet a political party since they have not been declared by INEC. If they formed MDD as a resonse to OBJ's intention to stay beyond 2007 they are just wasting their time.

One thing i can deduce is that they propably know that the chances of PDP having a landslide majority/victory in 2006/7 is very slim, so in order to remain in power they decided to come up with another "PDP".

It (MDD) could also be the party that will eventually "carry" IBB since no present party seems to want him in their camp.

If MDD eventually become a political party i don't see them beating PDP in all of their strongholds since PDP is now well established.

Which ever way it pans out, my fingers are crossed from my vantage point.

Not only has the current bible been shaped by the politics of the catholic church, it is incomplete. I think I would love to hold discussions with Ethiopian christians and find out how much protestant (in this case baptist) views differ from theirs. Its too bad so much of the early church history is lost.

That is why no one (Church) knows Christianity better than the Catholic church. It's good that some of you can admit that fact.
At times it amazes me when some people talk that the Catholic Church is not doing the will of God and that we don't "know" the Bible.

The ban is very bad and very good at the same time. If you are an engineer what nosy clients used to do is to bring Wednesday Guardian to you so they will do the math with you. Now they can't do that anymore.

In no distant future flying cars will be the way to go. The only thing that i see as the only constraint on it's development is the energy/power supply part of it's development.

Aliko Dangote is Nigeria's Bill Gates, he is a muslim and i doubt if he is giving 10% of his income to an imam/pastor every month, how many tithe paying Christians can match his achievements. Is God not with him too?
