Yeah, multiple entry visa is wat you need. U might apply for it at the nigerian embassy but theirs no guarantee that you'll be issued a multiple entry visa. U'll have to show that you'll be travelling to Ghana from nigeria and then back to Nigeria from Ghana before returning back to England. |

Just my honest opinion. haha. Am not an advocate of marriage for convenience. |

ChinenyeN: *sigh*. . . very sad, but to each his own I guess, because it's like I stated earlier, people [pro-gays] who erroneously use the word "rights" have developed an intolerant mind to any discussion to the contrary. Which leads me to believe that you never actually came here to discuss the issue at all, Johnkent. You never entered this topic, intended on understanding those opposed to your pro-gay agenda.
Well, I certainly never came here for an argument. That I know. Neither did I come here to demoralize and coerce people into any ideology. I just came to understand and be understood. . . but like my people say oto nde owe nde; it's not everything that everyone will like/agree with. . . and tha e kelewa onye nthi ikhe; ma eligwe anufugh, ala nganu-inu; it's not everything that everyone will understand. The main arguments when it comes to homosexuality has always been the Issue of "gay rights". U can't have this kinda argument without talking about it. if you're not ready to let gays enjoy thesame rights that you and everyone else enjoys then , Just like the civil rights movements. it was all about rights. Just give the black man thesame rights as everyone else. The black man wasnt asking the white men to like them or accept them because they were black. All the were asking for was equality and thats exactly what gays are asking for in this cruel world of ours. lets give them a chance. |

Mad_Max: If anything isn't the way they're used to, it's 'wrong'. If they themselves had been wired gay, they'd be singing a different tune. Like agathamari pointed out, some things people considered 'immoral' in the past look silly now. There's no evil they won't use religion to justify, from their bigotry to mistreating women to outright murder. The bible says this or the quoran says that. They do the evil but lay it all at 'Lucifer's feet. Tear your hair out all you like. Gays are making huge and deserved leaps in recognition and they are not asking for your irrelevant permission or approval. Thank you. well said. |

U guys are still arguing about this. I gave up yersterday. Lots of ignorant folks on here. Like someone talked about, alot of these folks on here have never been around a gay person so all they are doing is just fibbing. As much as you hate gays, talk to one and try to understand why they "chose" to be gay since most of y'all believe its a choice. Why do you think Someone would choose to be gay if they knew they'll be cut off from their entire family? They'll become second class citizens?? Some of their rights would be taken away from them They couldn't adopt kids if they wanted?? They'll end up being dejected by their friends?? These are things we need to think about before we start making assumptions. I totally understand why some of you are not tolerant of gays but i thought as people became more education, they become more understanding and accepting of other people's point of view. Homosexuality has been around for centuries but as countries became more developed and people became more educated, alot of people in the closet began coming out. I know for sure that Nigeria in the near future will get to where atleast south africa is in terms of gay rights. its just a matter of time. These are people that we love. |

ChinenyeN: Now you're jumping around from basic humanity to marriage (which is a social institution). marriage is also a basic right that we heterosexuals enjoy right U have the right to marry whomever you want as long as they are atleast 18yrs old depending on ur state/country of residence. In some states, the legal age of consent for marriage is 16. So, why can't 2 consenting adult gay men get married |

I have no clue wat u mean by having more power than the society. Nobody can have more power than the society. ChinenyeN: I'm sure you couldn't have missed where I stated that the discussion has taken a twist and is now about the basis for acceptance. I'm not discussing the people, or the acts themselves, just the basis for why you and others are soliciting acceptance. I'm not concerned with the actual people who actually do it. I haven't heard any gay man or women asking for acceptance. They are asking for the same rights that heterosexual couples have. Right to be married, right to be added to partner's health insurance, right to be next of kin to spouse when death does happen/during health issues, right to spouse's possessions after death. They don't care if you accept them or not. Thats the least of their problem. They just want to live a normal life just like you and me. |

maclatunji: @medlabgirl, tell them. Gays or Lesbians do not deserve to walk the face of the earth, that's why God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah. In an Islamic state, the law stipulates that they are to be stoned to death. It was when homosexuals started getting bold and having some degree of public acceptance that HIV/AIDS became the scourge that it now is. I can guarantee that if you continue with homosexuality, you will die a slow and painful death by the time your body starts to manifests the foul effects of your abominable act. Remember. Mad_Max: There's homosexuality in the animal kingdom too. You should see gay lions at it. Maybe those sanctimonius arguments should be taken to them as well. And what's being a paedophile got to do with being straight or gay? There are straight paedophiles and gay paedophiles. One is a crime people are thrown in jail for. Being gay isn't.
What two consenting adults do is ACTUALLY nobody else's business. In fact, the only way I will take your argument seriously is if you show consistency with both incest and heterosexuality, in regards to consenting adults. So, do you have a problem with incest?
Homosexuals aren't wired that way but chose to be gay? Fine. It means you too can choose to be gay if you want. It means you're s.exually attracted to people of your own gender but choose not to indulge. Afterall, you've got the same wiring as homosexuals. valid points. |
Culture › Re: What Is Your Take On Homosexualism? by johnkent(m): 8:51pm On Jun 02, 2010 |
ChinenyeN: Now this discussion is going to twist. . . be careful how you toss the word "rights" around, and make sure you properly define how you're using it too. Now, I'm inclined to abandoning this discussion because you threw in the word "rights" (which, in my experience anyone who uses that word and is pro-gay activity/acceptance has already developed an intolerant mind to any argument to the contrary), BUT because I really want understand what you mean by "rights", I don't mind entertaining this your response. So, pray tell, which rights. . .? Now you're just being dodgy and switching the basis of your argument from genetics to consent (two different things). Okay then. . let me go ahead and entertain that too. Now, regarding consent and intimacy, what about siblings, who are of age? Your liberal mentality ought to have no problem with them engaging in sexual activities, since you want to hammer on about consenting adults and homosexuality. In fact, the only way I will take your consent argument seriously is if you show consistency with both incest and homosexuality, in regards to consenting adults. So, do you have a problem with incest?
Bawomolo, I've seen your posts on NL. You're smart. So do the math. Incest is totally different from homosexuality. U anti-gay folks/conservatives always bring up incest and pedophilia which is completely different from homosexuality. |

ChinenyeN: My thoughts exactly Tpia.
Johnkent, "bigotry" is "intolerance of someone's opinion". The term "bigot" is also a contemptuous word. Contemptuous words are prejudicial. Someone who calls someone a "bigot", only shows their own contempt and intolerance for that person's opinion. So, in reality, we are all bigots. Now, consider that next time you think of calling someone a "bigot".
Where do you all keep getting this "born with it" propaganda argument? how did i know u were going to say that. Am not intolerant of your opinions; am just saying you need to give gay's the rights they deserve. we cant prosecute one because of their sexual orientation. |

Obinoscopy: @Johnkent
For every gay couple there is always a 'female' guy and a 'male' guy. The 'female' guy is feminine both in behavior and in looks (at least 95% of them which is statistically significant). The male guy may or may not be handsome. The same theory can be extrapolated for the lesbians. not true. there are lots of "straight acting" guys in relationships. U would never know they are partners unless they told ya. |
