After months of touting the impending release of new, blockbuster information on accused sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, the Justice Department announced in a memo Monday that there is no evidence he kept a “client list” or was murdered.
The Justice Department also does not plan to release any new documents in the matter, it said Monday.
The admission reneges on promises from President Donald Trump, who previously spoke about releasing more governmental files on the disgraced financier, as well as go against years of conspiracy theories pushed by the right wing.
Right-wing media figures have, for years, suggested that the government is hiding secrets relating to Epstein, who died by suicide in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex-trafficking charges. Some of those individuals breathlessly pushed the theory that Epstein kept a “client list” as blackmail against powerful figures who he helped commit similar crimes.
After being confirmed as attorney general earlier this year, Pam Bondi quickly embraced those theories, saying in a February interview on Fox News that a client list was “sitting on my desk right now to review.”

A New York jury on Thursday found Donald Trump guilty on all 34 felony counts of falsifying business records — the first time a former U.S. president has been convicted of a crime.

The jury reached its verdict in the historic case after 9½ hours of deliberations, which began Wednesday.

He'll be sentenced on July 11, four days before the Republican National Convention. He faces penalties from a fine to four years in prison on each count, although it's expected he would be sentenced for the offenses concurrently, not consecutively.

The verdict was read in the Manhattan courtroom where Trump has been on trial since April 15. He had pleaded not guilty to 34 counts of falsifying business records related to a hush money payment his former lawyer Michael Cohen made to adult film star Stormy Daniels in the final weeks of the 2016 presidential election.

The relatively short amount of time jurors needed to reach a verdict was a sign that they thought there was enough evidence to back up Cohen's testimony, said George Grasso, a retired New York judge who attended the trial.
A source familiar with the Trump campaign's inner workings said the verdict was expected to prompt him to intensify deliberations on picking a woman as his vice presidential running mate. His campaign website labeled him a "political prisoner" and urged supporters to donate.

The charges are for foreigners trying to enter Nigeria, with foreign passports and does not apply to Nigerians with Nigerian passports. So what is the problem? A number of other countries charge similar fees for similar purposes, and many Nigerians gladly pay such fees at the entry point of those countries, without any murmuring or complaints. So why is everyone now complaining about NIS doing the same thing, a number of other nations have been doing for the past few years?

I have paid $45 USD for visa on arrival at the entry point of another African country before, and I witnessed many other travellers doing so freely, without any issue. But why is it that when it comes to our own shores, everyone complains without thinking? It is NOT by force to come to Naija, o!

These folks are not paying for visa on arrival. They’ve already paid and obtained a Nigerian visa at a consulate overseas. Everywhere in the world, no one charges for biometrics at the point of entry. I’ve been pretty much all over the world and I”ve never had to pay for biometrics. I’ve paid for visa on arrival upon arrival in some Caribbean countries but that was because I didn’t have a visa and the fee is usually about $10-$20.

For a Nigerian passport, you’ll have to fly to the consulate in New York or Washington DC.
I would recommend applying for an expedited Nigerian visa instead.
