CareerRe: Rights And Duties Of An Employee In Nigeria by johnwell(m): 2:01pm On Feb 17, 2023
dipoolowoo:
By Benita Ayo

The Principal Statute in Nigeria, the Labour Act, has recognised that employees do have rights which must be protected. These rights stem from the fundamental human rights as enshrined in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, International Conventions and Protocols to which Nigeria is a signatory, to name a few.

Thus, an employee whose rights have been violated may bring against his employer an action for redress at the National Industrial Court.

Rights of the Employer

So to speak, the employee’s rights include the following;

Right to Maternity Leave
Right to Sick Leave
Right to freedom from discrimination
Right to Participate in Trade Union Activities
Right to Annual Holiday
Right to be treated with dignity and respect

Duties of the Employee

In addition to the rights of an employee, an employee also owes a duty to his employer, which the law expects him to render at all times of his employment. As stated earlier on, a duty is an obligation owed by one person to another. The employee’s duties to his employer include the following;

Duty to obey lawful Order. Lawful order includes instructions given within the context and timeframe of the work hours. An employee is expected to at all times comply with written and oral instructions of his employer. Failure to comply may result in the termination of the employment contract by the employer.
Duty of Disclosure: This duty requires that an employee must disclose to his employer all relevant and necessary information, must act in good faith, and personal interest must not and never conflict with his work obligations.
Duty to take reasonable care: In the performance of an employee’s duties, the law expects the employee to exercise great care and skill in order to avoid incurring liabilities to his employer. (Employers may in a bid to protect themselves from a careless employee, enter a separate contract of indemnity with the employee).
Duty to Indemnify the Employer: By this, an employee has a duty to indemnify his employer from the consequences of his negligent acts done in the course of his employment.

Consequences of Failure to perform his Duties

Where an employee fails to perform his duties as required by the law, the employer may sue the employee for damages caused and suffered. It is always to have a contract of indemnity signed by the employee in favour of the employer at the same time the contract of employment is executed.

The appropriate court having jurisdiction over labour-related disputes in Nigeria is the National Industrial Court.

Christianity Etc2023 Prophecy Through Dr. D.K. Olukoya Coming To Manifestation!!! by johnwell(op): 1:54pm On Feb 17, 2023
NIGERIA ON FOCUS!!!

Few weeks after the servant of God Dr. D. K. Olukoya, the General Overseer of the MOUNTAIN OF FIRE AND MIRACLES MINISTRIES presented the "Prophetic Picture Of The Year 2023" lots of incidents has occurred which are related to the fifth (violent revolution) and eighth (lack and famine) prophecy of the year.

***As a result of the redesigned naira notes, the country is at the edge of the manifestation of these two prophecies.

While the ignorant youths are busy fighting themselves on social media in support of one politician or the other (the same people that have destroyed the country) the nation is plunging into untold hardship.

None of these contestants/aspirants have the interest of the country in mind nor the youths in their agendas, it's all brainwashing as usual. They are not messiahs, the only messiah is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords, His name is Jesus Christ.

If we continue the way we're going, the situation of the country will only get worst, because those awaiting to steal/loot are more than those presently stealing/looting, the que is long, it's generational. The only think we can do now is to seek the face of the Almighty God, cry for mercy and divine intervention.

In addition, Olukoya gave some prophetic prayers for the nation which are listed at the end of this write-up.

Let's take a look at the PROPHETIC PICTURE OF THE YEAR 2023.

1. This year is a year to wage a very serious war against the spirit of procrastination.

2. This is a year when the flesh must be mortified if you want to avoid trouble.

3. It is going to be a year of recovery and turn around restoration to so many people.

4. A year when God will humble the proud who think they have it all.

***5. It is a year when serious prayers against violent revolutions and overthrows are required***.

6. It is a year of strange war against your attention; avoid distractions. There will be a mental, emotional, health, spiritual, and physical war. The enemy will try to attack in every manner.

7. We need to pray against strange attacks from the waters.

***8. A year we need serious prayers against the spirit of lack and famine***.

9. A year of divine judgement against wicked and corrupt leaders.

10. This is a year where God will break His silence this year to deal with evil and wickedness.

11. A year where a lot of uncompleted destiny projects will be completed this year.

12. This is a Psalm 23 year; a year where those who rely on God will boast about their God.

13. A year believers should pray and break embargoes and dismantle evil monopolies.

14. A year of the disgrace of fake, hypocritical, and powerless religions.

15. A year the Lord will dismantle mighty men who stand in the way of God.

16. The Lord will fight like a Mighty Terrible One to deliver His children

17. A year where it is extremely dangerous for the sheep to stray from the shepherd and for you to discard good advice.

18. A year of judgement for those who convert the altars of prayer to dens of thieves.

19. A year of judgement for those who wickedly take innocent blood. Mark those words!

20. A year of correction, confrontation, and change for those who want to move forward.

21. A year of joy for couples waiting on the Lord for babies.

22. A year of regret of judgement for ritual killers and their activities shall backfire.

23. A year of tragedy for youths who refuse to exhibit sexual control.

24. A year where testimonies will drive much of the next move of God.

25. A year to form the habit of seeking and receiving help from heaven.

Two books of the Bible are essential for this year. Take time and study them. One is Psalm 23, and the other is Isaiah.

26. A Psalm 23 year for those standing for God.

27. A year we must seriously pray that the mercy of God will push back the judgement stretched out against our world by heaven.

28. We must pray against the miscarriage of God's will in this season.

29. A year to key into Isaiah.

30. For those who are 100% obedient to God, a year of comfort and glory.

THE STRATEGIES FOR SUCCESS IN YEAR 2023

1. Always be sincere and authentic before God.
2. Become a prayer addict.
3. Be involved in praise revival.

7. Guard your heart with all diligence.
8. Believers need the cover of the blood of Jesus in this particular year.
9. Pray for the grace to die to the flesh daily.

9. Famine and barrenness of the soul, I am not your candidate, in the name of Jesus

10. Let the resurrection power of the Lord Jesus Christ overshadow and surround me this year, in the name of Jesus.

11. I shall not die but live to declare the works of Christ. The angel of death will not visit me this year, in the name of Jesus.

12. The enemy will not contest my voice this year. The enemy has lost the power to contest against me, in the name of Jesus.

13. The sun of my life shall not listen to the voice of witchcraft, in the name of Jesus

14. God shall make the right people to help me at the right time and in the right place, in the name of Jesus.

ESSENTIAL PRAYERS FOR THIS YEAR – FOR NIGERIA OR ANY COUNTRY WHERE YOU ARE.
1. Every enemy of peace in Nigeria, we bury you now, in the name of Jesus.

2. By the power of the God of Elijah, terror must bury terror this year, and the coven of terror must become desolate, in the name of Jesus.

3. O glory of Nigeria, do not slumber. Arise and shine, in the name of Jesus.

4. O prince of peace, reign in this country, in the name of Jesus.

5. Let the wickedness of the wicked, programmed to trouble this nation, expire, in the name of Jesus.

6. O God, arise and give us God-fearing leaders, in the name of Jesus.

7. Lord, pass through the land in violent anger and slay the wicked who have made covenants with bad spirits to destroy, in the name of Jesus.

God bless you...!

So I met this lady 2 weeks ago in school, she came for her project work.

She showed a lot of interest during our conversation which made me to collect her number, thereafter we continued chatting on WhatsApp and calling

She later said she will be coming to school and I told her to let me know so that I will meet her in school because I live very close to our school, infact I invited her to my place but she later postponed it and said she won't be coming again and said I should visit her instead.

I wasn't prepared for such outing that day so I told her to wait till Sunday and she agreed, we continued chatting on WhatsApp till yesterday Sunday morning, she called me early in the morning to inquire if I will still visit her and I said yes, she said by 12pm because she will first go to church.

When it was 11:30, I called her and she asked if I had left home and I told her very soon, she now said I should call her once I get to a particular location and give the phone to bike man so that she will give us the direction to her place.

I left home 12:10 pm, got to the location, negotiated with okada man, called her number but she didn't pick, I called the second time, she didn't answer so I thought maybe she wasn't with her phone.

I waited for her to call back but she didn't, after waiting for awhile without reaching her, I told the bike man to carry another passenger.

The last time I called her, she switched off her phone, I returned back to my house.

She hasn't called to offer any explanation after 20 hours and I'm just surprised.

Here is my question for ladies on this forum, is what she did okay? What do you think made her to behave that way?

I'm not the type that run after ladies up and down, I hardly do such thing, I've avoided women for most part of my life and such ugly experience will surely affect the way I relate with them anywhere I find myself
She was busy with another client, don't intrude!

Media personality, Daddy Freeze has advised his followers to marry partners who can satisfy them sexually, IGBERETV reports.

Daddy Freeze said this while contributing to actor, Deyemi Okanlawon's discussion on the importance of intercourse in marriage.

The actor who recently celebrated 10 years anniversary with his wife, Damilola Okanlawon gave a hint on his sexual life when he revealed in a podcast with Toke Makinwa, that four times a week isn’t enough for couples.

Deyemi said that there shouldn’t be time table when it comes to sex as there are weeks one can have it all day, both morning, afternoon and night. He likened sex to food, which is like a three square meal.

Responding, Daddy Freeze agreed with Deyemi as he used the opportunity to lecture his married fans on the importance of intercourse.

Freeze opined that sex is very important in a marriage or committed relationship and should be done more than once a day, if possible. He advised his followers to marry partners, who can satisfy them sexually.

To prove his point, Daddy Freeze revealed that 65 out of the 83 women he counselled had cheated on their husbands.

PoliticsLagos Resident Electoral Commissioner Planning To Use MC Oluomo ...... by johnwell(op): 2:44pm On Feb 09, 2023
Atiku Calls For Removal Of Lagos Resident Electoral Commissioner For Planning To Use Tinubu’s Ally, MC Oluomo To Distribute Election Materials

Agbaje however said the commission was more concerned with issues of motor parks administration in the state for the effective delivery of its election duties and not MC Oluomo.

The Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to remove the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Lagos, Olusegun Agbaje, for alleged partisanship and compromise.

Former chairman of the defunct National Union of Road Transport Workers in Lagos, Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo had recently requested from the Lagos INEC the responsibility of distributing electoral materials on Election Day across the state.

Speaking on Tuesday during the inter-agency consultative committee on election security (ICCES) meeting, Agbaje insisted that the commission would be using the Lagos State Park and Garage Management Committee led by MC Oluomo, who is a member of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council.

Babajide Sanwo-Olu, governor of Lagos state, had set up the parks committee after banning the operations of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) and the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN).

Agbaje however said the commission was more concerned with issues of motor parks administration in the state for the effective delivery of its election duties and not MC Oluomo.

Meanwhile, MC Oluomo has publicly described himself as a loyalist of the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu.

In October 2018, MC Oluomo, in an Instagram post, said Tinubu owned him and the APC and that whatever he (Tinubu) wanted was what he (MC Oluomo) would support.

He wrote on his Instagram page, “I am an Asiwaju Bola Ahmend Tinubu Jagaban loyalist, I wear the Jagaban jersey, I've been a loyalist since 1999, the first mecca i went is through his execellence in the year 2000, moreso, he as done alot for me, he made me who i am today our relationship has been was very cordial and strong in the area that I grew up in.

“So I'm one of his loyalist that have strong believe in him, he own the party and any where his interest belong I Musiliu Ayinde Akinsanya Mc oloumo belong. I and my people in Oshodi formerly endorse HE Akinwunmi Ambode for 2nd term because his government is still working in the shadow of the party national leader, but now the case is vice-visa i have to follow the interest of Bola Ahmend Tinubu and the party decision.

“If Asiwaju Bola Ahmend Tinubu again says is no more Babajide Sanwoolu but someone else, so shall it be.”

Reacting in a statement by his Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, Atiku said it was strange that Agbaje insisted on using the parks committee led by the APC presidential council member.

He described as watery Agbaje’s excuse that INEC would not be able to use the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) and the Road Transport Employees Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) because they had been banned in Lagos State.

The statement read, “The law is clear that only a court has the power to proscribe an organisation. That was why the Federal Government had to go to court to proscribe the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN).

“What Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu did in Lagos State was to arbitrarily announce a ban on the activities of the NURTW because the organisation suspended MC Oluomo, the APC’s henchman. INEC must not promote illegality by working with a partisan organisation which is filled with APC members that are working for Bola Tinubu.

“How could such people be given sensitive materials to be distributed across Lagos on election day? This has already undermined the possibility of a free and fair election. INEC must sanction Mr. Agbaje for insisting on using MC Oluomo’s committee despite protests from members of the public.”

Shaibu recalled that Agbaje was the REC who superintended over the fraudulent 2018 governorship election rerun in Osun State which even the United States, the United Kingdom and the European Union discredited.

He added, “Recall that it was Mr. Agbaje who superintended over the fraudulent and violent Osun governorship rerun which produced Gboyega Oyetola as governor. US Consul General, John Bray was spot on when he stated, 'We witnessed what appeared to be incidents of interference and intimidation of voters and heard reports of harassment or party monitors, journalists and domestic observers.”

Shaibu noted that even election monitoring groups like the Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD) dismissed the Osun rerun as “fraudulent and anti-democratic”.

He added, “Unfortunately, it is the same Agbaje, who could not effectively supervise a rerun in a few polling units that has been given the task of superintending the election in Nigeria’s largest state with over seven million registered voters. The election is doomed to fail if INEC doesn’t do the right thing by removing him.

“We remind the INEC Chairman, Prof Mahmoud Yakubu, that this will be his last general election before the end of his tenure. We ask him to protect his legacy by removing Mr. Segun Agbaje if he insists that MC Oluomo must be the one to handle sensitive INEC materials. This election must not only be fair but it must be seen to be fair as well.”

Shaibu noted that as of Wednesday morning, over 17,000 Nigerians had signed a petition on Change.Org titled, ‘Remove Olusegun Agbaje as the Lagos INEC Commissioner for Incompetence and Bigotry’.

Agbaje has been under fire for the last week following his comments over the inability of a large number of non-indigenes in Lagos to vote.

While explaining the development on Channels Television, Agbaje, who was visibly disgusted, stated that people of the South-East migrated to Lagos and engaged in double registration hence their inability to get their Permanent Voter Cards (PVC).

Responding to the development, Shaibu stated, “It is disheartening that the Lagos REC, Mr Segun Agbaje, has begun to show open partisanship. We find it curious that it is the local governments considered as opposition strongholds that were unable to get their PVCs.

“Historians and analysts have described this 2023 general election as a watershed. The destiny of over 200 million people is at stake. INEC says it is ready to deliver a credible and free election but one weak link in the chain of command can undermine the entire process.

“We call on Prof. Mahmoud Yakubu to remove the Lagos REC, Mr. Agbaje, as his credibility is seriously in doubt. Again, we call on INEC not to use the MC Oluomo-led partisan organisation to distribute ballot papers on election day.”

A Canadian model who is addicted to extreme plastic surgery has left many shocked after she revealed that one of her 10kg breast implants exploded.

Mary Magdalene, who is well known for showcasing her plastic surgery enhancements online - has spent more than $100,000 on surgery over the years and almost died on the operating table several times. Her extensive procedures have also left her with severe back pain, meaning she needs a wheelchair to get around.

In the latest setback, one of her 5000cc implants has now burst, leaving her with an enormous 'uniboob' and a saggy, empty breast next to it.

'My breast implant popped - again,' said the Toronto native, who is scheduled to 'have surgery to take them [both] out next week'.

'I'm going to go back natural in not only my boobs but other parts of my body, too,' she told her 163,000 Instagram followers.

She also revealed during a livestream that it didn't hurt when her implant burst, and she only realised what was happening when she heard a 'pop'. She went on to say that she's going to take out her 38J implants and revert to her natural self.
