budaatum: Funny enough, I disagree that "People should have the right". That statement is just odd since it implies a right someone has to give to one as opposed to a right one already has. do we come with an inherent right or are all our rights granted to us by an authority? (Because I don't understand this statement) |

Martinez19: It depends sha, though it's true that intelligent and more matured minds have a better grasp of life and know that all is ultimately pointless and vanity. When our earth eventually collapses into the sun, what will be use of all of human endeavours? 4.5billion years approximately from now for that to happen, doubt if there will be such a thing as 'the human race' by then In developed society with great but "immature" minds, there is a high pressure to succeed academically and get the good life. Maybe that's what mainly contributes to suicide. I stand to be corrected. What do you mean "great" but immature minds? |

Martinez19: People should have the right to end their life whether they have a good reason to or not. It's their life.
To digress a little, I did like to say that not all people who commit suicide or attempt to are "screwed" in the head. A normal person with no disorder of any form and with a sound mind can still commit suicide. It happens that there are people who prefer quality of life over it's longevity. Human life is an existential horror. Take for instance, countries like Japan have more suicide rate than Uganda. The more intelligent you are, the more likely you are to commit suicide. It seems the more humans know or understand, the mind begins to seek self destruction |

tintingz: Attempt suicide or suicide is a crime in some countries, even assist suicide is a crime in some countries.
In my own personal opinion, suicide should be legal and illegal depending on the case at hand.
It should be legal when one is suffering from pains of a medical condition and no treatment, such person should decide if he/she wants to leave this world.
It should be illegal when you have no meaningful and logical reason to end your life e.g depression, JW people rejecting blood transfusion. Government duty is to protect lives.
And it shouldn't be criminalize, it should be a psychological, medical case. So, a person can't simply say "I don't want to be alive again?" Government's protection is mandatory? |

A lot have been rescued from drowning in Lagos Lagoon, none have been arrested and charged for any crime It is in our criminal law. Whether we prosecute them on many cases is another issue |

Gloriawinning: No, because Bible said in this life you will experience trials and tribulations but be of good cheer i have overcome the world!! As a strong Christian who is growing deeper daily I'm at a point where I am so steadfast in my faith that I hardly get discouraged, all my trials sometimes make me smile cos Holy Spirit would already walk me through how I will overcome. Praying for anyone in a bad situation right now, Jesus is the answer. You are answering whether people should kill themselves or not. My question was whether they should have the right to if they want to |

CAPSLOCKED: GOOD REASON TO TRY VERY HARD NOT TO FAIL. the OP questions if this should be a right so it won't have to be prosecuted I'VE OBSERVED THAT ONCE GOD IS MENTIONED IN ANY DISCUSSION NOTHING MAKES SENSE ANYMORE. LOOK, WE UNDERSTAND THAT GOD IS USUALLY THE EXCUSE FOR THE REGULAR CHRISTIAN'S MENTAL INABILITY TO ENGAGE IN RATIONAL DISCUSS SO WHY DON'T YOU JUST WATCH AND LEARN FROM THE STANDS, OR WALK AWAY ENTIRELY? The right to kill yourself should be enshrined in every Country's constitution, afterall, none of us got to choose to be born or not, at least, let's choose how our life ends. But the life we live is not fully our own, there are several constraints here and there |

IT DOESN'T MATTER IF PEOPLE SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO DECIDE WHETHER OR NOT TO KILL THEMSELVES, IF YOU ASK ME. THEY'LL STILL KILL THEMSELVES ANYWAY AND THERE'S NOTHING YOU CAN DO TO A DEAD MAN OTHER THAN BURY OR CREMATE HIS BODY. You can be prosecuted and jailed if you fail |

Suicide only affects the loved once of victims. People who kill themselves just die and go. Their loved ones will stop them do so because of their live doe the person and the loss they will feel. No they don't. Suicide is a crime in Nigeria |

One of the most fundamental rights humans accord themselves is "Right to life "
But what are the extents of this right? Should this right to life be extended to the "right to kill yourself"?
If not, why?
If yes, why?
Should people be allowed to decide to die? |

CAPTIVATOR: Revelation is very honest, if only you had paid attention to the opening details this thread won't have arise.
" The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show unto his servants, even the things which must shortly come to pass: and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John; " Revelation 1:1
Signified means to present something by symbols distinct from its actual meaning . You will find dragon with many heads etc in this Bible book , its a Representation of something as evident by the word " Signified ". That is a wow So much honesty |
