butterflyl1on: We are saying the same thing. Medically, when they say spontaneous abortion they actually mean Miscarriage.
I never said they have to say "miscarriage ". However the word "spontaneous " describes the kind of abortion. Read my posts again and see that I have said this all along and not that miscarriage is the term. Miscarriage is simply the inference. Spontenous abortion and induced abortion. . When the word "abortion" is used alone it may mean any of the two kinds. |

wirinet: You guys love to appeal to emotional blackmail to impose your moral sensibilities on others. Murdering a fetus is an oxymoron, murder refers only to a person, a human being. Cells are not referred to as a person, and definitely a sperm and ovum merging together cannot be said to be a person.
I could not have been aborted because my patents wanted me badly. They went to great lengths with expenses to conceive me. I can say I never lack love.
A woman should never be forced to birth a child she does not want.
Abortion has not reduced the world population, in fact it is increasing in geometric proportions. I do believe you are also made of cells, supposed Person is still union of cells - this doesn't help at all. As far as i know we are all cells and you wouldn't argue this makes it okay to kill us all |

wirinet: If abortion is murder, then who speaks for the over 50% of all fetuses that are naturally aborted (miscarried). Who is murdering 50% of all fetuses because they cannot talk?
See report;
Many times an egg is fertilized with a sperm to form a zygote, but the zygote is unable to implant itself unto the uterus, it ends up as an aborted pregnancy. Same thing as having an abortion within 4 weeks of pregnancy. People die everyday naturally doesn't make murdering one less wrong. Fetuses may be aborted naturally everyday doesn't make willful abortion anything less than murder |

KingIbot: Hello nairalanders let me just be brief. I seem to imagine why after staying up all night to pray I don't get what I want and sometimes I fast and still negative result. There was a time when I saw myself gaining admission after praying first list-last list no admission given and am expected to dance joyfully in church during praise and worship what am I celebrating? I have a dad who is a British citizen comes to Nigeria every year but never gave a Bleep about me coming over that I now think of sorting myself out and the highest he gives me when he is down here is 20k am not ungrateful but am gonna eat sub is 1k monthly will have to call now. and I pray hard every blessed day for my story to change and its not coming to manifestation. Everytime something good is around the corner something will just happen again. Am beginning to doubt His existence there is this sadness in me when am in church I see it as wasting of time nowadays cos those who ain't religious like me are making it. Prayers are wishes and wishes do not affect reality, you may wish for something so much, you may throw in every penny in your pocket into a lake, or wish on all the falling meteors or pray without ceasing. It doesn't guarantee your results. Prayer is no more efficient than wishing on a falling star. Pray all you want, heaven cannot hear you. It won't stop the cold because you feel cold, its not going to shrink the size of the earth because you don't want to walk so far. One may pray for rain and it rains, the prayer had nothing to do with it, pray or not it was going to rain anyway. If you act wisely good things tend to happen, if you don't bad things follow, don't thank or curse heaven - its just the natural outcome of your actions. If you want to better your life, educate yourself and think carefully about the consequences of each action before taking them. Two hands working is better than a thousand clasped in prayers. This is not a solid ground to lose your belief, it means you were not worshiping God in the first because you believe in God, you did not believe in God because you geniunly thought God existed but because you thought belief and worship of God is supposed to give you a form of unnatural advantage (The nonsensical notion of divine favour or grace) Many believe in God but not in miracles, so your prayers not been answered are not solid grounds to base your doubt or it would be unfounded and shabby, yes so many things can trigger questions in us but base your conclusions on geniun and honest reasons borne out of clear cut questions and open minded enquiry God is not your meal ticket |

JMAN05: You didn't fly down from heaven. What we carried over here began somewhere. So, by what standard should the man be the head of the family then, take the initiative to marry etc. If all through, we had atheist, do you think women would subscribe to that system? Men became the dominant species thus heads of clans and families because they were physically stronger. Before monarchial government came into practice, leadership is determined by who the strongest person was. So the social and family structure developed from that and saw men at the helm of the fundamental social hierarchy. This is supposed to be elementary brother |

Xiadnat: So what if its paradoxical? How does that argue against Gods existence? Could it be God has conditions that you are not privy to that makes this paradox possible? And whoooooo are you to say such absolute?
Do you know how many physical laws governing this universe thats paradoxical and yet here it is sustaining life for thousands of years.
Tsk. A God you cant explain or put in a box. If you can explain God, God wouldnt be God now, would It?
The wisdom of man is a foolishness to God.
Look at you sounding all philosophical and you think you are smart. Like i said before, it does not preclude the existence of a God but rather one which is both all good and all powerful. In simpler term it does not mean that God doesn't exist, it only means that a God that is both all good and all powerful does not exist. either all good and not all powerful or all powerful and not all good. I hope you understand now |

JMAN05: If we remove the moral standards stated in the bible that organise the roles of each family member, how then does an atheist handle this issues since he does not believe in God nor His word?
For instance, who makes the approach to marry? Will it be the woman or the man and why? How is the head of the family determined? gender roles in marriage is not a biblical thing please, it is rather cultural and every culture has their own ideas on gender roles in marriage, what you find in the bible only shows the jewish idea of gender roles in marriage. Igbos have theirs and so does everyone else, in most cultures men are the dominant species (biologically men are stronger and bigger) so this is not a surprise. In some cultures women have the upper hand, it differs from culture to culture, society to society, time to time. For me: It depends on what works for you, nothing should dictate how you handle your relationship. Only you and your partner has that right and should figure out what works for you. Culture shouldn't dictate, religion shouldn't, society shouldn't even though these are influencing factors. |

vaxx: This two are different separate entity.... the universe has been created fine. ....it is the birthright of man to be happy and joyful.....God isn't to be blame for the wrong deeds of man which causes evil on earth ....
God created a fine universe that allow life to come into being, check out the distance of the earth to the sun....imagine if they were close or they are together.... what about the orbit of the moon ,the nature of matter and energy.... and lastly what about the very law of physics themselves...
why you should not blame God for the earth. evil?
life on earth is around 3.7 billion years according to scientists and human have been around for 200.000 years depending on how you define human .... as an atheist I know you will say yes to fish according to Richard.... fine and no problem for the sake of argument..
only time can tell how many evolution take place before we reached the stage Charles Darwin discover man and ape share common ancestors... there was a research whale ancestors walk on their leg .. are you aware I am sure primate .amphibians, alligators have enjoy a stable live without volcano, tsunami and earthquake for centuries before arrival of human..... I actually can tell when was the first earth quake? but whatever scientific evidence... there must have been spark by human negligence.... if it is well study...I hope you must have heard about green revolution to address global warming that is currently a topic of discussion in the world right know...... scientists are even aware of the problem.... it is due to human negligence.....
but you know what God also knows this earth has a limited time and that is is why we traditionalist believe there is life where the dead go...am being rational... it may be in one of those planet at least no concrete scientist evidence for now that there is no extra terrestrial human....
scientist are also aware this earth will be destroy.. . there was a video I watch on you tube... it was about a research on earth... it is proven that the temperature of the earth surface is rising and in about a billion years, the surface of the earth will be too hot for a liquid water to exist and likewise also for life to exist.......after earth and all the living object has been boiled away forever the other part of universe will still exist. for billion and billions of earth...
logical taught
if you buy a car and you do not follow the manual instruction of the car ...you just drive it the way you care and the car malfunction before the 10 years of warranty ....do you think you can blame the manufacturer? my logics tell me you are to be blame..... evil is an entity? |

ScienceWatch: Mmmm. It is clear from your fake logic that you are not one of the intelligent Atheists in this camp.
But for the enlightenment of progressive Atheists I take the liberty of posting a brief extract below;
Prof. F. Collins says he was forced to examine the evidence concerning the truth or falsity of religion, Prof. Collins was eventually led to read C. S. Lewis’ Mere Christianity, where, he says, '...within the first three pages, I realised that my arguments against faith were those of a schoolboy.' He realised that no law of science could adequately explain the existence of morality
After Prof. F. Collins read Lewis’ critique of moral law, he realised that no law of science could adequately explain the existence of morality, but a Creator God fit the explanation perfectly.
There you have it. It requires superior intelligence and an effective use of LOGIC to break out of mundane, boring and fruitless Atheism. Prof. Collins will certainly help many progressive Atheists to move forward and out of the viscous trap laid by the failed prophet of modern Atheism Richard Dawkins.
Gabe, you Atheists have to say about tithing. Explain this “The bizarre—and costly—cult of the prophet of modern Atheism, Richard dawkins,” Atheist prophet Richard Dawkins offers members of his foundation, which is allegedly dedicated for “reason, science and progress,” some “valuable” benefits such as the chance to meet him in person!
However, this privilege of meeting richard dawkins is not available to ordinary members such as Jackbizzle or Martinez19, Jackbizzle is on Atheism's wanted list for not paying his monthly tithes.
Membership is organized hierarchically in circles—depending of course on how much money you pay for his “non-profit” organization—called the “dawkins Circles”. The “Reason Circle,” which is the cheapest option, costs 27,000 Naira monthly and offers you discounts on merchandize from the foundation store, such as this cool T-shirt above, and the chance to attend events with “richard dawkins Foundation for Reason and Science personalities.”
However, the tithes of 27,000Naira a month is too little for the karma Atheists gain from having a private lunch with the “Holy Prophet” himself. Such a privilege is only reserved for members of the “Evolution Circle” or “The Magic of Reality Circle,” which costs 31.4million Naira – $500,000 annually. Do your own research Jackbizzle and Martinez19. There are more disturbing verifiable facts that is stopping millions of youth from even talking about Atheism. What da Bleep is he saying?
