greatcrown: There is no difference between academicians and rogues in Nigeria. Why should employees be dictating for employer?
On the so called fraudulent software; has it been tested? How many companies is using it globally?
ASUU rejected a system that is being used by big companies throughout the world and they are coming up with one that has not been tested. Who does that?
I hope the the uncooperating ASUU can all be sacked. It's obvious it's about personal interest and not the national interest. If IPPIS have been tested and is error free, why are University staff amputated salary? Some staff enrolled on IPPIS up till now no salary. IPPIS didn't recognize allowances. |

MrEgghead: But it captured medical doctors and other health workers allowances ..Why is that of lecturers different I think there's more to this IPPIS that the lecturers are not telling us. No room for contract staff, adjunct staff etc on IPPIS. |
Education › Re: ASUU Unveils UTAS As Alternative To IPPIS by jolyment: 12:58pm On Aug 19, 2020 |
biglizzy: Any other reason for opting out of IPPIS may be tenable( though I strongly believe an employee should not dictate to his/her employer how he/she should be paid) but please don't mention excess work load allowance. Many of the lecturers are working in 2-5 institutions in the name of adjunct staff. So if there's truly workload how are they able to cope with the demands of 2-5 jobs at the same time. This is the primary reason they don't want the IPPIS Only few lecturers teach in more than one institution because it's for Senior Lecturers and above, probably because of their specialities. Few lecturers abuse the job by working in many places. But there are ways of checking that. FG should pay what they are owing ASUU and include ASUU peculiarities in IPPIS. If this is done,am sure strike will never happen again. |

Someone7: When it comes to their money they are developing software. When it comes to reopening universities for online lectures, they oppose.
Nigerian university Lecturers k ASUU use their Union resources and knowledge to develop UTAS. Blame FG for not funding universities properly to cater for online teaching and learning. I love online teaching but the resources are not there. |

[quote author=Kenmatt post=92983318]If it's not IPPIS, it's not IPPIS.
Why are they developing a similar thing like IPPIS?
Why are they running from IPPIS?
It must be IPPIS or nothing.
I stand with the government on this.[/quote
IPPIS doesn't capture lecturers peculiarities , that's the reason. If IPPIS can include University conditions of service,no problem. FG deceived other Unions to join, now they are regretting. |

paulolee: pls they should instead protest against the dissolving of that union called ASUU.. whats the need os reopening schools and ASUU continue thier prolong strike for its selfish reasons.. it seems its only those in private uni dt would lead this protest because as for me, this school lockdown is more about ASUU than about covid.. Even if it's for ASUU interest, why can't you tell FG to honour signed agreement with ASUU. Do you even know that FG is owing ASUU earned allowances? |

Maj196: Bear in mind that the unions are the cause of the prolonged closure. Blame FG who has caused irregularities and delay in the payment of salaries. ASUU advised FG to include their peculiarities on ippis. FG didn't listen and deceived other Unions to join IPPIS. The Unions that joined are full of regret now. |
