ceaser500: Please try and look at things objectively and make all you research before making comments on matters you know nothing about. The likes of CBN & FIRS won't be captured on IPPIS because they are revenue generating agencies. Those fraudsters you are referring to is the only union in Nigeria that are fighting for your interest. FIRS only collects taxes on behalf of government. School fees are also revenue. |

erad: There is a flaw in this argument.
A government that has refused to illegally access your BVN without your permission, is it the same government that will illegally deceive you to join a plan you are clearly against?
If the government wanted to do that, why not just go all the way and dig out their BVNs without their permission as well.
That's what propaganda looks like, it's never rational. I understand your point . |
Education › Re: ASUU Salaries: Use Of BVN Will Expose Lecturers With Multiple Jobs – FG by jolyment: 4:37pm On Apr 24, 2020 |
erad: It doesn't work that way.
People should stop trying to have any opinion about things they know nothing about.
It's like saying people looking for government jobs shouldn't submit their CV since NYSC has their details and the government owns NYSC.
Does that make sense? Protocols exist for a reason. The reason why lecturers said they won't submit bvn is because FG can use it to migrate them to IPPIS. Mind you, ASUU has told FG to ensure their peculiarities are captured in IPPIS but government said no. |

linearity: The FG is doing the right thing here, you can’t be a full time employee in more than one company, neither should lecturers.
You will agree that, there is corruption in Nigeria and to fight it, the way things use to be done have to change.
If the demand is trivial and Lecturers have been open about their work with multiple institutions, why the push back on producing their BVN? No lecturers can be on full-time in more than one school. |

erad: Thank you very much.
See ignorant people up there saying rubbish about the government having their bvn without realizing that just because they have it does not make it legal for them to access it.
If the government decides to extract the bvn without the lecturers permission, it's the same simpletons that will shout tyranny.
Nigerians always think they know all, when they know absolutely nothing.
I'm waiting for the day Nigerians will start approaching issues from a position of objectivity and no through personal/political sentiments and bias. CBN is the custodian of BVN and FG owns CBN. That's why people are saying they should access their bvn from their account numbers. |

kokoA: Lecturers be complaining of excess workload in their primary place of work yet they work in multiple universities.. I don gerrit mehn.. They want government to be paying them for excess workloads in multiple universities.. Haba! Lecturers don't collect excess workload in many places, they can only collect excess workload in one university. Few of them even work in more than one place, doing sabbatical or visiting or part time. I think government should monitor lecturers violating the rules of engagement on it or cancel sabbatical etc. But these sabbatical ,visiting etc are in line with their staff conditions. The only thing I know is that if ASUU didn't hold the scrotum of FG very well. They will introduce tuition fees in universities or turn universities too primary schools. Imagine if FG should introduce 400k tuition fees, this is part of the reasons why FG dislike ASUU. ASUU is against tuition fees.FG empowers University Governing Council on the issues of salaries, FG should remove Governing Council and I think with this, lecturers will have no option than to register with IPPIS. |

Osidazz19: I made my desire known to serve in the Buhari’s adm I neither begged nor prostrated to Adesina. It is childishly foolish for anyone to say because I didn’t get a position in Buhari’s administration that’s why I criticise their failed god from Fulani Emirate. I will criticise Buhari today, tomorrow, and for ever as long as he runs a tyrannical regime of crooks.
It’s no crime to approach someone with close ties to government or organisation to recommend a qualified person for a position in the same organisation. This is the usual practice all over the world. Indeed, Adesina at one time or another has gotten a job through connection.

Corporate2020: The writer is a mad. Femi Adeshina is there as Buhari's Media Aide and not as Oduduwa Media Aide. He is there to serve Nigeria and not to serve Yorubas. His job is to defend government policies and not to oppose government in the Media. If he has contrary opinions to what government is doing, he will discuss it with his Principal and not in the Media. But Femi said a lot of things that he shouldn't have said. |

fjjc: I could remember vividly well during OBJ regime that no work no pay. Someone needs to shift the goal post. Considering the situation we find ourselves, I believe government has tried enough to pay February and March salaries. Many ASSU members are on borrowing to sustain themselves and their families. And the future look uncertain, so it will be wise to accept this offer before it is too late. ASUU is not against IPPIS, they said their peculiarities should be captured. University staff who enrolled are regretting. The deductions are too much. FG wants to use the BVN to enroll them without their consent. |

Cyberterror: These lecturers are very corrupt. They have multiple accounts. Many of them teach in private universities too and draw salaries from there in breach of federal civil service laws. That's why they are resisting application of BVN and IPPIS . They may want to use the BVN to migrate them into IPPIS. |

Yohh: The last paragraph is the catch. The monies won't be released to the university heads to effect payment, rather the VCs are to send the lectures' account details with BVN to Abuja for payment. This is still IPPIS in a non-conventional way. I wait to see the ASUU's response. You're funny. The salaries have been prepared already even before this announcement. The BVN is to avoid paying lecturers two times because few lecturers joined IPPIS. |
