You can never dictate to your employer on how you want to be paid
They didn't say they exempted ASUU from ippis

They want to subject ASUU payments platform called utas to cyber security test

After that....i trust Nigerian Government..they will say it failed the cyber security test
UTAS will pass just that FG can reject it.

I beg stop spreading your lies from thread to thread, only those who refused to obey government directives on registration are those that are not yet paid, even the ASUU chairman and minister said it over and over. How can you be playing victim cards when you failed to comply with registration despite many closing Grace's government offered them?

Obey first before complain, those lecturers that complied and those that went to Abuja for registration are not owing up to that amount. Calculate how many months government had been telling them to comply or remain unpaid.

Those who are not paid choosed not to be paid out of government options for non-compliance, you can't blame government for that, blame stubborn ASUU for their selfishness while hiding under canopy of they are fighting for quality education and students
So you expect ASUU to join IPPIS? They'll not join brother. Autonomy kills ippis in universities.

LOL i know this will deteriorate to this level, I literally stopped using Bank Last Month, I withdrew all my money!!

What prompted me to do this, was because last month, I had no money in my account, So I saved up #2,000, and to my greatest surprise I received credit alert which says, "#1,950 has been deposited to your account, #50 was deducted!!!! I was like WTF??

A couple of days later, I went to withdraw #1000, and then again, #50 was deducted from my account, So this people literally bill me for every transaction I make!!

What kind of exploitation is that?? This country Is so fùçkēd up, Since Crude oil is becoming worthless now, Government are looking for ways to Exploit the citizens by all means to further continue their Looting!!

I will rather buy a piggy bank and saved up my money in there!!
Which bank please, I need to avoid the bank.
EducationRe: Hurray, ASUU Wants Prompt Pay For Endless Strikes! by jolyment: 7:00am On Nov 18, 2020
TopeQs:
ASUU knows that, they'll be paid even if they are on long strike, that's why they always resort to strike.

ASUU are using the students as a pawn, we all know what type of government we have, they don't care for no citizen. The students are the only one that suffers, if ASUU cares they won't go on this last strike. Their selfish interest is why we are. If government paid them all their arrears(salaries and allowances), they will resume immediately, I'm sure you know that. So how's that a fight for improvement of educational sector.

ASUU only start this last strike because of IPPIS, no matter what you'll say, we know it's IPPIS that made them embark on this current strike. They are now using the remaining unanswered agreement to blackmail the federal government.
The truth is, if FG didn't withhold the salaries of those who didn't register under IPPIS, they would not have embarked on this strike in the first place, they may strike later, but not at that time.

note: fighting for what may be their right is not a crime, but it's a crime to be affect other people who have no say and are totally helpless (the students). Both FG and ASUU are at fault for that.
I understand your point.

I don't even care about ippis, I'm just frustrated with the government that would rather allow ASUU to be on strike for this long, even when millions of youth are at home due to that.

ASUU is at fault, but the federal government is like an enabler, ASUU is on strike because of the FG.

both are useless.
What is the fault of ASUU please?
EducationRe: Hurray, ASUU Wants Prompt Pay For Endless Strikes! by jolyment: 1:52pm On Nov 17, 2020
TopeQs:
The truth is that ASUU just don't want for themselves only, of course their interest is paramount, they still want the government to invest more in tertiary education. It's not easy dealing with the federal government, how many times have we seen these politicians sleeping during house meetings and they get enormous pays while professors work their butt off for a small amount. Government owned tertiary institutions in Nigeria are also an eyesore, they are a mess, the hostels are not fit to live in, the classrooms are not accommodating the number that are being admitted, the laboratories and libraries are not well equipped and so on.

A developed country is made from 3 important sector.
-Education
-Health
-Power.

Once those 3 can be gotten in place the country will pick up faster than bolt.

Many of us are just caught up between their endless disagreement. I believe if the government understand another route, ASUU may not have to always resort to strike, we have intelligent lecturers in many tertiary institution, I'm sure they would have worked something out.

Federal government will rather spend many billions of dollars on project we would not see in many years than pay #200bn to ASUU and let them be done with strike for many years..

Even if this strike ends, I'm sure they'll be another one in about a year, ASUU is being pressured currently by many citizens(me especially, I had just a few months to graduate before the strike, yet here I am, an undergrad in November, very hurtful), we're all neglecting the federal government who could end this any moment but claim not to have money. They only need to include their ASUU agreement money into the next budget, that way no one will be sat with to pay, just a direct deposit instead of always sitting with minister for labour.

The sad part is, the government won't do it, they'll keep meeting with ASUU every year till the next administration takes over and hand over the debt to them and the cycle may keep going.

This country is a sham.

You may be right. As for they hundreds of millions pumped into institutions, how sure are you that that money isn't just their salaries, the budget for education get smaller each year.

I'm not backing ASUU totally, I'm supposed to be ready for service right now, I'm as frustrated as you are probably. I'm just saying, if government pay ASUU their money, would there be need for strike? And please, don't say IPPIS, I hate ASUU for that reason. I believe if FG pays ASUU well and on time, they'll be no need to counter IPPIS by ASUU, but I don't know the full story on that.

The meeting between them is just like an abusive relationship, you would always think they're going to change you'll agree to stop fighting, yet another promise is broken. You get mad again, fight for months and reconcile, and the cycle continues.

My point is, they are both at fault, we just seem to target ASUU more, forgetting that it's the government's fault..
ASUU is right on IPPIS because it can't capture lecturers peculiarities. If it can ASUU will embrace the imported software.Besides IPPIS, why should FG owe earned academic allowances for more than 5 years? Why will FG refuse to fund education properly and default on signed agreement?
PoliticsRe: Payment Platform Crisis: FG May Drop IPPIS For ASUU, Others As Opposition Grows by jolyment: 4:19pm On Nov 16, 2020
oyatainer:
You are the one that don't know what you are saying. Is it Federal government that will employ for state institutions where most of these lecturers work? It is obviously No
Government have their blame but lecturers who do this justify the rationale behind FG insistence on IPPIS. A lecturer that works in a federal University, take excess courses to earn more allowances is not effective in the courses. This same person still goes to two other state University and two of his trained PhD students are jobless.
Who is wicked between such person and FG? The issue is that some of the academic staff in the university are more callous that FG if given the authority. They perpetrate a lot of atrocities ranging from multiple earnings, sex for grade, absence from work, use of students to work without pay, plagiarism, favouritism to blackmail of government to actualize their selfish goals.

Wé just pray government respond in time so that masses will not bear too much brunt of their inaction.
The best thing is for state and private universities to employ, but because they need senior lecturers and above, that's why they allow lecturers to teach in their schools, they also want to cost and need lecturers with experience and a particular area of specialization. FG still need to employ lecturers too because some schools need more lecturers. Multiple earnings is part of their conditions of service but should be regulated by NUC. I agreed there's corruption in the system because this is Nigeria.

Now we know better, it was all about the money and not the general welfare of our universities. You want to continue receiving salaries from different higher institution at same time, a country that is battling unemployment will have a single lecturer employed in more than two to three universities at same time
You don't know what you're talking about, is revitalization fund for infrastructures for ASUU? Is visitation panel about money? Tell FG to recruit more lecturers, a lecturer who teaches in other school is hired because of his experience and specialization that fresh graduates doesn't have.

Enough of all this rubbish mode of salary payment that has lasted for seven or eight months and nothing positive yet is coming out till date. Greedy ASUU should accept IPPIS platform and let the students resume school now, Dictating the mode of salary payment for your employer can not work out in anywhere in the whole world and if Federal government decides to accept UTAS now, probably other Unions will want to do the same.

Do you think FG love average Nigerians? ASUU is fighting FG to fund universities properly. Without ASUU public universities will look like public secondary schools. Now FG has agreed to pay part of the allowances for lecturers but ASUU still says FG should fund universities properly and fulfill signed agreement. Ngige is a cunny politician; the 110bn he is emphasizing is not the main issue. I am sure ASUU will accept 20bn for revitalization.

The 30bn EAA is also acceptable if FGN will source something for other unions.

The main issue now is withheld salaries and ippis.
The revitalization fund is crucial too, let them fund universities properly.

FG is just pocknosing in matter that does not concern them.

IPPIS will not permit lecturers to do multiple jobs. They will be able to do state or federal jobs and not the two. Consider a department like Forest Resources and Wildlife in Eksu where they have limited lecturers and they often borrow lecturers from federal universities such as Unilorin and Futa. What will be the hope of such students.

Another issue is that Fayemi came to worsen the case of EKSU by sacking over 900 staff including lecturers that are not enough before. Now imagine what will happen if they permit FG to use the stupid IPPIS platform they want to use.

I thought they were ready to do ASUU's bidding during the end Sars protest.
