Politics / Re: Are Bello, El-Rufai's Ordeals In The Tinubu Era A Betrayal Of Northern Allies? by Jomandi13(m): 8:46am On Apr 30
franchasofficia:
Tinubu is a smart politician, he knows his true political allies and his political enemies that just joined his political train to hide their evil intention and to shield them from their corrupt practices should he emerge President. He knows those that want to use him like he used Buhari to climb to federal power. Don't joke with Tinubu. Tinubu only respect long time political allies from his time at AD, any other is not valid to Tinubu

Again, Tinubu alone understands the game and he alone knows that they didn't truly work for him to become President as they made it look to Nigerian commoners who don't understand the game.

If they worked for Tinubu, Tinubu wouldn't have lost virtually all the important states during the election that he had to spend trillions bribing INEC and everybody bribeable to overturn the election result.

Bola Tinubu made himself President by himself through his stupendous illegally acquired wealth from capturing Lagos for 23 years and looting Lagos state treasury using political proxies and stooges he appoints as Governors of Lagos ever since he left office as Lagos state Governor.

Tinubu bought his Presidential mandate from INEC and he knows that he owes nobody any appreciation except Buhari that enabled the INEC daylight robbery and PEPT's validation.

The only people Tinubu is grateful to for helping him emerge President are:

Muhammadu Buhari
INEC Chairman
Chief Justice of Nigeria

That is why Tinubu made his numerous appointments without considering Northern political noise because he knows they never wanted him to emerge if not for his money.

In as much as I don't support Tinubu, that man is a very smart man and a very rugged politician
You are points with these explanations.

Yes sir, when a woman gives birth especially at a young age in few years time you will not see any sign of child birth on her, Especially those with smaller sized bodies
Now child birth does not widen the vagina after birth the vagina returns back to normal size expect in cases of long and hard labour, overly big babies, they will tear you and even after the sewing it will be very clear that something happened to that vagina, the sewing and tear healing marks are very visible, the bigger the tear the more visible the mark

Then breast feeding puts mark on the nipples especially when done for long, some women Especially single mothers rush to stop breastfeeding quickly to avoid that mark around the nipples, some refuse to even breastfeed,so no mark at all.

Then belle,in big sized pregnancy and in chubby ladies forget it, you will see the stomach is permanently changed, the marks don't go away totally but in those smaller ladies the marks are less visible

In conclusion not every man knows how a lady that has given birth looks, some men are not sexual freaks, they see the lady the just say oh that's how she looks and don't forget woman that's out to trick you go do her homework,na the smallish statue women that play such tricks on men
Thank you so much for taking much time to explain this scenario.Much appreciated.

Forget about the elasticity of the vagina

It must show say you don born 4 Children
That is why if you are with a woman always ensure the two of you are naked at times gisting and playing when you are not horrnny

If the only time you see your woman’s nakeddness is when you are hornny and when you want to have sex then you will never take note of her body, breast and vaginal because at that moment you can't think

Can someone here remember the foremost quote artributed to David Mark as a Major General and as a Federal Minister of Communication.....?
IbeOkehie:

Transmission is the major issue because transmission of electricity is a MONOPOLY function of the Federal Government of Nigeria. The sole transmission company in Nigeria is called the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN). It was the part of NEPA/PHCN retained under FULL OWNERSHIP AND CONTROL of the Federal Government. Most people don't understand that the Federal Government is in complete and total control of the electricity sector, that the so-called privatization was designed to keep it under control.

Transmission of electricity is non-functional because it's owned by the Federal Government. That's the same reason why National Theatre Iganmu, the 4 NNPC refineries and all the Ajaokuta Steel companies and also National Television Authority and Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria and the Federal Universities and Federal Medical Centers are inefficient, corrupt and non-producing.

Remember NITEL used to be the SOLE MONOPOLY phone operator in Nigeria and it was owned by the Federal Government. Those of you who are young should ask your elders how many people in Nigeria had phone before the sector was deregulated and privatized. NITEL and it's mobile branch called Mobitel existed for 30 or so years and only managed to provide 1 million phone lines. Only the rich had phones when government controlled phones, just like only the rich get the best university education in Federal Universities. Nigerians please wake up!!!!

Every problem in Nigeria is rooted in Government ownership and control, government regulation of prices and government control of markets so the solutions to ALL of the problems in Nigeria is simple. It's called FREE MARKETS and suffering will continue until it's applied in EVERY SECTOR the same way it was applied in telecoms, cement and broadcasting. It's not an option, it's the ONLY solution.

Good Luck to Nigeria.

I concure with you Engineer.....
Hollygrail:
This man - Adelabu is only ranting because he fails to understand that our power problem is beyond generation but transmission and distribution. What is the excess of generating power in quantum while transmission lines lack the capacity to convey it to the end users. The late Chief Bola Ige and Babatunde Fashola once boost of achieving this feat but ended up disappointing Nigerians. We need Electrical Engineers like myself to resolve our power issues. Most of these appointed ministers lack the capacity to understand how power generation, transmission and distribution network works and as such end up achieving nothing unless they gather a sound Engineering team who will help build a roadmap to power sustainability with strong policy implementation mechanism in place.

abragr8:
I saw a post where single Lady asked some Married women "If a wife gives her Husband good food, good sex, respect and peace of mind, will the man still cheat on her?".
Most of the married women said "That is even when he will cheat more because it is in their blood".

These women were talking from bad experiences. So their opinions are not objective. Bad standpoint will only produce bad viewpoint.

winkFor instance as a small boy in my village, someone travelled to Abuja for the first time and stayed in somewhere after Maraba. His uncle's wife mistreated him. So when he returned to my village, he told me how Abuja is very bad and even worse than our village. Abuja people dont feed well and they eat late he said. His opinion of Abuja was faulty. He spoilt the city to me. I was a small boy then.
When it was time for me to go to Abuja, I stayed with a millionaire friend of my Dad in Maitama. His wife was so caring and nice. I discovered that my friend didnt even go to Abuja. He went to Nasarawa state and thought it was Abuja.

Same thing happens in marriage. A lady married a chronic womanizer and drunkard. She knew his character but she chose him due to the fact that he was rich or pretended to be rich while the good guys around her were 'poor'. After wedding she gave her husband every kind of food and every sex style in the dictionary. Yet the man kept cheating on her. What she went into was not actually a Marriage but a Mirage.
How can that woman be able to advise a single girl about behaviour of men?
Life would appear unbalanced when your standpoint is not balanced.
You have said it all, hitting the nail on the head.

TSTV came along with pay per view and other goodies, shaking the table of DSTV. The company has been frustrated into silence and they'll only rear their ugly head when DSTV and Nigerian politicians allow them to come up for air.

There are many other instances but these two will let you know you cant just shake the table and introduce innovations without taking permission from those at the top cool

steel is not "far superior" than concrete. All building materials have both advantages and disadvantages.
One of the reasons has to do with the client. Sometimes before the client even request for a design, he has already purchase masonry blocks and other materials.
But then again Nigerians don't like to challenge themselves. Concrete is the default "comfort zone".
In the case of a net zero carbon emission buildings, Timber is the best alternative
Pls can you expanciate more on what has net zero carbon emissions got to with use of timber in the built environment??

I flared, they said the brother of the owner of the house asked them to mix it 20pans per bag, that that's how others mix and the houses hasn't collapsed either.
I left them to complete their work and when it was time to pay I asked them to go and meet the guy to pay them. I contacted the owner of the house and withdrew from the job.
Very excellent decision you took.I am proud of you because your professional integrity is at stake ,if anything happens.you will be the one to take the blame not the brother.

Politics / Re: Major Fuel Price Increase Looms In Nigeria by Jomandi13(m): 8:10am On Aug 06, 2020
kikero:
N.B: I am not here to defend any government...just to explain things.

The price of fuel is going up for two reasons....very simplifed

1.Nigeria is not earning enough cash to keep the price of fuel down because the amount of dollars we are earning from oil aren't enough to pay for subsidy (which exists so long as fuel prices are controlled by the government)
You are on point

2.Because Nigeria is not earning enough dollars, the value of the naira is going down, which is why the oil price is going up. (In very rough terms, N145 is equal IN value to N65 ten years ago).

3.We cannot increase refining capacity because despite 61 licences issued for refienreis, only people like Dangote are building, because if you build a refinery in Nigeria, because government is controlling prices, anyone refining fuel in Nigeria will sell at a loss.

(That's why Dangote's refienry is not going to bring down prices in the meantime, because Dangote has to pay back loans he took to build his refinery, and then there is the cost. These add up).

4.Oil prices are going up,and since we import most of our refined fuel the price of fuel too has to go up.

5. The solution is simple. Allow marketers to control the price of fuel they sell. Yes, at the end of the day, we pay N200-300 for a liter of fuel...but in return, investors will come and buiild more refienreis, jobs and production icnreases, and competiton brings down prices. And smuggling stops, and government saves money.

as it stand now, your building can collapse if it rains heavily for 24 hours.

when they say higher qualify builders to build your house - you will say no! baba kassim has been building houses for years - i want him to build this one for me he is cheaper and experienced. here lies the final result - LEAKY DECKING!

pls do us all a favour and go rent a decent and safe house for your family while your live in that your house by yourself alone so that if anything happens you will be the only one in the house.

grin grin You're a very funny guy. So building is not Civil Engineering work??

So if the OP wants to build his house he should take the structural shop drawings and give to a surveyor to do a BOQ for him as opposed to BEME?? Is that so??

The emboldened is contrary to what you said initially.

Of course I know there is a little difference between BEME & BOQ but that is not my argument in this thread. I gave you the chance to tell me the difference but instead of educating me, you shifted your goal post, and ended up contradicting your earlier quote.

Finally, what the OP needs is the Engineering measurement of cost of constructing his structure and not an estimate by a quantity surveyor.

At this point, I'd prefer a face to face argument with you not nairaland argument.

Cheers.
Now you are the one amusing me .The emboldened are the same, why shifting the goal post. However, you accuse me of shifting the goal post but in reality I am only scoring the exact goal as expected to elucidate you.Least I forget in a big construction site why do firms have a civil engineer and a qs?Pls reflects on my question and get back to me.Finally I laugh in Swahili when you asked if building is not part of civil engineering.I make bold to say building is specially set apart from civil engineering.Another question to throw at you to reflect why do we have department of building in the universities and polytechnics .Also can you tell me why have COBON and COREN?

Okay, you got my attention.

Do you need both BOQ & BEME before you begin your project?? If no is your answer, which between BOQ & BEME do you need if you're to embark on a building project??

Lastly, what is the difference between BOQ & BEME??

PLEASE EDUCATE ME.
In response to your questions. If I need to undertake a building project,I consult a QS to prepare me BOQ to ascertain the cost.
However,to your second question .
Although, BOQ and BEME tends to serve the same purpose and are prepared in the same manner or format; but BOQ is used basically for building works, while BEME is used for civil engineering works such as Roads and drainages, retaining walls, piling, underpinning, bridges and culverts, railway works, dams etc
I hope with this explanation, you are convinced .
