I honestly don’t know what DVR/NVR means but I’m sure they can be mounted in the masts. The mast can provide power supply.

5. The high-end cameras can be expensive.

They also have high-end infra red CCTV cameras with night vision. These ones are much more expensive than the regular CCTVs because they provide high quality HD recording even at night or stormy weather conditions.

If we can have 3each of this on all communication masts in the country combined with some other softwares then killings and other crimes can be reduced or solved easily.

Products with high local production capacity should attract higher tarrif. We wunt even have to band any product. The market forces and tarrif will make it difficult for any body to import what is produced locally. We also have to ensure that those manufacturing in the country pay tax too.

My broda what you just said would have been the best in an ideal environment but in a country with a very porous land border, how do you deifferentiate the product that paid the high tariffs from the ones that didn’t pay anything?

If the tariffs are too high people would rather smuggle it than take it through the ports. So the only effective way to deal with it is outright ban so that anywhere it is seen in the market, it is confiscated.

To an extent i think refusal to sign it should help protect out own local industries. That will enable us monitor, control and check the inflow of products coming into our market.
However,in this century,no country is economically self sufficient.

Signing such document will only mean death for our local industries especially with all this Francophone countries that only serves as transfer destinations for French products.

They will just be transferring all products imported from France directly into nigeria the only country that has the population to buy.

Signing such an agreement will never beenefit us especially now that we don’t produce enough products to consume let alone export.

Competition drives innovation. Our local industry is not thriving because we are practicing a monopolistic economy and most of the time it's nepotism, everyman wants to favour his tribesmen. This deal will create room for a competitive economy.

This is not the type of competition nigeria needs. This will be an unhealthy competition because the likes of francophone countries don’t produce anything. They only import from France and Belgium only to look for the economy where they will dump it.

So in essence, Nigerian products will not be competing with other African products but European products indirectly.

South African products are also superior to Nigeria’s so there’s hardly anything we can send to them to buy. Even with tariffs and all, Nigerians will still prefer South African or Europe produced products(francophone). If you now remove the tariffs, It will only be a one way traffic.
