Lordave:Yes I know. That is why it is called FEDERAL? And he will have more resource, more investors, more funds, more grants. Actually being a Governor presents more challenges than being a minister because you really don't have to bother about balancing all the other sector like revenue, security etc. Anyone that can effectively manage Lagos state as the most ethnically diverse state in Nigeria can manage the whole country. You don't need any special training because of the population difference. |
Lordave:I beg to disagree bro. Power, works and housing may seem huge but but the fact is still that it will have permsecs, and senior member of the ministries, and heads of different departments which makes it look similar but smaller in nature to a state that has up to 20commisioners. If fasola could handle the most complex metropolitan city in Africa and one on the most complex in the world, I think these three he can do well. To remind you. Lagos state had under it, Transport(almost as complex as federal roads). Security (more complex than any other state in Nigeria and even more than some regions). Commerce (bigger than that of NC, NE) Works Housing (more complex than NE, NC) Finance And a host of others that are more complex than that of some regions. Fasola handled them. I'm sure he should be able to manage them. The only one I think PMB fumbled is the James Ocholi of a guy. Though the guy seems very passionate about PMBs success but after reading the guy's antecedents and clients, he deserves nothing close to our judiciary. Then again, I trust PMB to boot him out if he fumbles. |
400billionman:Witch doctor or Herbal doctor. Which one? |
Babe2sure:"History is a strict accountant." Damn! That was epic. I will never forget it. **Repeating to myself** History is a strict Accountant.....wow Babe! You're really sure. Thanks for this. |
amusadele:Do you speak english. What's the correlation of this rant with the topic. |
oz4real83:Absolutely Spot on. Our Judiciary is our problem. |
KUNZEH:Was it Salisu that conducted the election? I thought Salisu retired before the election. Was it not the man that conducted the election? |
Thank God |
This are very lame excuses. Quite unintelligent speech coming from a so called activist. This cannot even motivate an ordinary secondary school student to want to fight let alone grown men. The DSS made a mistake. They shouldn't have detained him for that long. They should have done their homework on him before now to know the macheneries he has in place. They will just invite him to question him and use the info gotten to cross check/confirm their findings. Secondly, I don't know how possible or the possible outcome. I think Nigeria can use his hate speeches as the basis of their case to withdraw his passport/citizenship. This is enough to make him a Non Nigerian like he always wanted. He will effectively have no rights in the Nigerian Territory. It will also make him a terrorist against the Nigerian state and a travel/security risk for other countries of the world. Finally he won't be able to get a Nigerian visa to come down to nigeria. This will give Nigeria the opportunity to deal diplomatically with UK (being a british citizen). UK government will then use their vast intelligence to track his connections and frustrate it. If the UK government is non responsive, Nigeria can accuse them of using their citizen to incite violence in Nigeria. |
Boss13:That was huge. Meaning the protesters are not .............. The DSS made a mistake. They shouldn't have detained him for that long. They should have done their homework on him before now to know the macheneries he has in place. They will just arrest him for a few days and question him to cross check/confirm their findings. I hope this is not a case of Political casualty. This man was a very important actor in the horror film that brought Saraki and Ekweremadu into the Senate leadership. |
All this useless (hungry lawyers) groups always popping up at suspicious times. They should go and sit down. We saw a lot of them during GEJ's last days in office. |
This is the most unintelligent speech. I've ever seen. Not even balanced or touching enough strike up pity let alone sentiment or even a far reaching motivation to stand up and fight. Very dry bunch of excuses. |
kaycid77:Guy. Face front. You're poking your nose too much. @EternalTruth you see why I choose to stay aloof on the issue. |
EternalTruths:A lot of things lead to the collapse of the Soviet Union but none of is had to do with secession. First the soviet was already a "walking dead" nation before its eventual collapse. They could not veto anything because they were virtually weak economically. Their system of government was the also unpopular type which made it hard for them to also have a negotiating power. Even at that, how many of the countries that broke out of the Union can you say is presently a force to reckon with in the committee of nations apart from Russia itself? Nigerians who go outside the country enjoy a particular form of respect and recognition just because they are from the largest black nation on earth. If Nigeria should break up today, all those privileges disappear. That is when you know the real meaning of the word Minority. Biafra, Oduduwa, Arewa will now be even less recognised than countries like Ghana, Cameroon let alone Kenya and South Africa. Nigeria has everything I mean everything to become one of the greatest nations on earth and with that comes the power to be the voice of a whole continent of Africa wherever we go to. Now compare that to a separate independent states. Whether we like to accept it or not, we the southerners are the Minority in this country because of one thing, Population. Because when push comes to shove, most states in North central will go with the north. Instead of us to unite and play our politics well, we keep fighting ourselves. Yet we claim to be the more enlightened than the north. What is happening in this country is simply not hatred towards any tribe, it is the in ability of a tribe to unite and play their politics well to determine their faith. Because Okorocha is in APC you hear a lot of Igbos condemning him for associating with the ruling government but the reality on ground is that if any Nigerian of the Igbo extraction has any chance of Ruling this country today, it is none other than Okorocha. The man has vested interest and support in almost every state in this country. Instead of his kinsmen to promote him and make sure it doesn't get to his head, they keep condemning him. I now ask how does an outsider respect your candidate if you don't respect him. What I see is that the every Igbo man is an independent entity on his own. Even if they succeed in breaking out, there will still be calls for independence from some states and eventually individually till it becomes everyman for himself. |
EternalTruths:Bros I wanted to stay away from it but you sound intelligible. A Biafra referendum is the best way to go. No country. I repeat no country has ever been the same after forceful separation. Even the one with referendum still find it hard to go. It took scotland decades of war yet nothing came of it. Even after that it still took them hundreds of years to gain the little they now have. The Basque Nation and Barcelona in spain are still at it after more than 5decades of civil war. My view. Even with referendum, it will still take a lot of patience and absolute unity for it to materialise. Palestinian has being at it forever. Even though it is being frustrated by the powers that be. Also if Nigeria should get the permanent security sit, Biafra should be forgotten because Nigeria will the have the power or at least the negotiating power to veto any referendum submitted. To you is One Nigeria By Force.?My broda One Nigeria is not by force but we stand to gain a lot as a united front than a divided house, especially against the western oppressors. The Igbo nation complain about maginalisation. Was the Yoruba race not maginalised? No tribe has sacrificed its great sons for this nation like the Yorubas. Awolowo, Dele Giwa, Abiola to mention a few. All in the name of fighting for relevance in the country. The history of Yoruba people is filled with different tales of wars and battles both within and with outsiders. The ones won and the ones lost. Its not that the Yoruba Nation is afraid to stand alone. We were a very strong expanding nation before the white people came. We have actually lost more than we have gained since the forced marriage but we've seen that to succeed as a nation against the white oppressors, we need the unity. Speaking of marginalisation. The catalans were bared from speaking their language for years in Spain. It could sometimes carry a death penalty. Talk about the height of marginalisation and oppression. Yet they are still at it. Until recently that they voted in pro secessionists. Also like someone said up there. No region in Nigeria of today totally has what it takes to stand on its own. We are all dependent on each other for one thing or the other. |
EternalTruths:I hate it because of the insult and hatred it breeds. I noticed how it is changing people. If you go through my comments on this thread you will see I was dragged into the biafra issue. I only had issues with PDP advising APC on how to go about it. Still in the process, someone insulted me and I did same to the person in a way to avoid the person. The person got the message and turned back. The topic is too sensitive. Am a Yoruba guy and no matter how I try to be neutral, I cannot relate with it without appearing biased cos like every other Nigerian, I have my reservations about the whole Biafra issue hence my resolve to stay away from it. I hope you understand and can respect that. Thanks |
CSTR2:You see I've noticed that people(Nigerians especially) tends to ignore the root/true cause of a particular action. For every action, there's an equal but opposite reaction. The call for and sustained call for secession/Biafra started as a result of an action or actions perceived to be injustice against the Igbo people in the past(pre civil war era). It was the reaction of the Igbo nation to the perceived action of some people against them. The call for Parallel government is a reaction to the actions of the threatened government. If the government had not made those actions, there wouldn't have been the need for the call for a parallel government. Now PDP is advising the APC government to pay attention to the secessionists. They claim that APC government needs to include the Igbos more. Now here is my question. Will the inclusion of the Igbos stop the clamour for Biafra? NO. At least not Nnamdi Kanu and his IPOB supporters. Because they simply don't want APC or even an Hausa man. Going by the way PDP in 16years handled the Boko Haram issue, does the PDP have the moral justification to advice APC on security issues? Even if they do, why is the PDP making it look like APC has done something very wrong against the Igbo nation since winning the Presidential election? This last question is why I said they are pitting the people against the FG which is bad. |

Sorry I don't exchange words with goats. |
rexbuton:This is what the secessionists fail to understand. Your backyard neighbour is divided on its own and much worse are not totally in support of your struggle. Its an hopeless situation. History has a wicked way of repeating itself. Who cares? I don't. If they succeed fine if they don't, their problem. |
CSTR2:Parallel government is not the cause of the country's instability. The country has been compromised the moment the government choose to tow the path of injustice against a group. Bros if you had bothered to read through you would've gotten enlightenment on my statement but since you choose not to I can't force you. You can only force a horse to the river bank, you cannot force it to drink. Peace. |
CSTR2:Any government that does something that has made some people to call for parallel government has already pitted the people against it. Calling for a parallel government is not a threat to a country. The government has already threaten the existence of its country by doing things that made people call for parralel government. it is a call to stand for your right against an oppressive government. What has the present APC lead FG done against the Biafra to warrant the renewed call for secession? NOTHING. The fact is that the secessionist movement has always been around even during GEJ era. Or do you think the Nigerian government under GEJ can honestly say the know nothing about the incarceration of Henry Okar? PDP is making it look as if the call for secession is wholly due to the actions and inactions of APC lead FG. What PDP is doing presently is subtly pitting the people against the government while making the government appear to be oppressing a set of people which obviously is not the case. This is something someone on Nairaland has predicted would happen and I can't believe it is actually coming from PDP just because they could not handle being beaten at the polls. Provide a concrete evidence of PMBs threat for bloodshed or forever hold your peace on the issue. Don't get me wrong am not against the Biafra struggle cos I don't care if they go. They should just make it peaceful and not make it look as if some people are forcing them out by their actions/inactions which is what PDP is trying to do. |
Keegan:Not only sore looser but devils threatening the peace and existence of this country. All what they keep asking for is what will either pit Nigerians against one another or Nigerians against the government or even the two. The first was the devilish N5000 stipend motion in the senate when they know quite well that the financial situation in the country, also that the budget on ground was the one handed over by the previous administration. The second is pitting the FG against the people by making it look as if it is the actions and/or inactions of the APC lead FG that is resulting in the renewed call for Biafra. PDP does not know or care about the implications of their senseless politicising of everything on our national unity. They simply want to prove a point at the detriment of our peaceful coexistence. When APC was in the opposition, you never hear them jumping on every action of the PDP lead FG to condemn and when they did, it would be clear to everyone to see that they've been given enough time. |
Keegan:No mind them. ofofoCEO:Oh. The same way PDP did before Boko haram escalated and killed more than 20,000 northerners. Even though it is the right thing for PMB to do, PDP has no moral justification to tell APC government how to approach pending conflict if their handling of Boko haram case is anything to go by. BTW GEJs disposition towards BH was "I don't give a damn about northerners, they're my political enemies" if PMB wants to be wicked, he will simply do the same and in the end it will be declared that "No Victor, No Vanquish" and life goes on. |
EternalTruths:Please remove my moniker from this list. I don't do biafra issues. |
O God of creations, direct our noble course Guide our leader (PMB) right Help our youths(Chukwudi44, Mogidi) in truth to know. With Love and Honesty to grow And living just and true Great lofty heights attained To build a Nation where peace and Justice shall rain. |
Oluyede also compelled the Court to issue an order restraining the AGF and CCB from inviting, arresting or prosecuting Saraki on the basis of any allegation of wrongdoing arising before or from his tenure as Governor of Kwara State between 2003 and 2011.This man is trying all his best to make a mockery of the laws of this country. How can someone ask a court issue an order to protect him from the law. Almighty Allah hasten your plan on the enemy of this nation's progress called Bukola Saraki. |
