I really don't know why my simple question to list the roads is paining you like this.

Bros, I am not fighting with you. You brought up heavy allegations against this company and all I did was ask where and where were abandoned.

I still refuse to believe that the government paid Julius Berger the full amount needed to complete those roads and they just abandoned it.

Somehow I won't be surprised if that's what happened anyway.

Still Berger recently completed that overhead bridge at lifecamp so that has got to be some progress.

Airport road has been expanded, so it wasn't abandoned.

Gwarimpa has an overheard bridge recently built also.

As for the federal secretariat side, I haven't taken note of the roads there but I know work is constantly going on at the central area, they recently expanded that road along the dome towards churchgate building.

I think you exaggerated in saying 85% of the roads in Abuja were abandoned by Berger. Yes they might not have completed the initial agreement of dual roads but I wouldn't say they were abandoned.
You see what am talking about.

I mentioned just one example and you mentioned about 4 and 3 of what you mentioned are pretty much in the same district yet you said I exaggerated. Lifecamp, Airport junction, gwarimpa. We've not come to kubwa-zuba and the other districts in abuja.

Only few major roads has been completed(signed sealed and delivered). The airport road is one of them and its because its a presidential route.

Julius berger don't collect money for their works. They are paid with crude oil. Ask anyone else. They'll tell ya.

**My sis am not angry with you but you put it to me that I've made a baseless accusation that you were taking personal and true to my nature as a human being, I went defensive in an offensive way.

When a so called educated person is afraid of ordinary BVN that is protected by my fingerprints. It shows the person is not in tune with the present technology let alone the Nexgen technology.

I see no difference between such person and an old illiterate market woman who for the fear of the bank loosing her money prefers to keep in under her bed.

Only that that woman, was better because she is an illiterate. If she had been educated, she would have a better chance of understanding how it works.

And the fact that he brought it to an open forum like Nairaland and some people were supporting him makes it really annoying.

all these ones you are saying are off point.
I am in Abuja, I see Julius Berger, CCECC and other construction companies doing work all over, and that is why I wondered which of the roads were abandoned.

All I hear from you are allegations and hear say from your so called insiders. My question is simple, which road was Berger paid and then abandoned?
Hahahaha so because you see them doing construction work all over now means there are no abandoned roads. I can now see that even if you were born in Abuja it will still be useless cos you know nothing about the town u leave in and u expect to engage me in discussion?

FYI CCECC is a relatively new company in Nigeria. All projects being handled by CCECC are post OBJ era and majorly GEJ era. The most prominent being the rail project. Major roads in Abuja were handled by Julius berger(75%) and Arab contractors(25%).

If you haven't noticed that Lifecamp road towards airport junction and beyond was designed to be dual carriage lanes then you should really consider not talking about abuja.

That is the only example I will give you. You can use this weekend to move around Abuja and notice more abandoned roads or go back to watching your Telemundo or stick with the romance section. Try and go around the federal secretariat, CBN building etc and take your time there. Remember to look around for the sign of the construction company that handled the project.

Also don't forget to report your findings.

where I stay and when I moved to Abuja is not the point here. Your claim is that Julius Berger abandoned the roads they were meant to build when Elrufai left office and I would simply like to know which roads they were.
I don't engage in meaningless and pointless discussions.

I'm not asking for your house address so I don't know why it is an issue for u.

Let me first tell you how important it is. Your history and area in Abuja will determine your knowledge of the happenings in town.

I won't discuss with someone who is in Lagos and discussing abuja issue.

BTW I have insiders in JB that has worked with them for over 10years.

Nope. They're actually one of the biggest thieves in the country.

Remember that he met the thieves in the power sector too and we all know the end result.

This was the same way El-rufai met with them and forced them to construct 85% of the roads in abuja today. Immediately he left, they abandoned the roads. All major roads in Abuja is designed to be dual carriage but because each lane of the roads are so wide these dudes did only one lane of most of it and left the other lane.
Politics › Re: FG Plans N8tn Budget For 2016 by jomoh: 3:14pm On Nov 06, 2015
sammhi:
sorry, that is not zero based budgeting. ..nothing to do with frugality..but more of reality..frugality has to do with those operating the system..you can still be wasteful under a zero based budget.
a zero based means you start afresh..most budget are based on previous years earning and performance....but a zero based does not take into account the previous year(s) income and expenditure....it is as if nothing has ever happened. it has its advantages and disadvantages
Flets:
Maybe you need to go learn about zero based budgeting for yourself first.

IT IS NOT ASSUMING YOU HAVE NO MONEY IN YOUR POCKET ....... DO YOU UNDERSTAND THAT NOW?

Zero based budgeting means building your budget from new cost components and structures. It means developing new basis for all budget components and not referencing previous budget basis.

E.g. The 2015 budget for developing a kilometer of road would have been based on escalating 2014 actual cost to reflect current day basis. Under zero budget budgeting, no reference will be made to the previous budget basis.... rather the budget will be based on today's executable bids and rates.

Now run along.......
All you just blow their na big grammar. Solving simple problem with complex solution.

@bold what is the difference between that and a street boy who assumes he has no money. It means the same thing. It means a conductor doesn't care how much you paid for T.fare yesterday it is what is obtainable today that he collects. You give him N1000 early in the morning he tells you no change despite going home with about N12000 in N200 & N100 denominations

You see the two of you just analysed the expenditure side of the budget. Now tell me in a zero based budget, what happens to the previous revenue you generated? Do you calculate your new revenue based on the previous revenue?

When I say street like is it not d same thing with starting afresh. Probably you don't know what street life is. Street life means you deal with life as it comes. Yesterday is gone. You only deal with now and what happens in the present. In the street, you assume(not definite) you don't have money. Ask any conductor in the morning for change, they will tell you they don't have irrespective of the amount of change they took home the previous day.

Nothing like historical cost. Do you now get it that I was explaining to a layman who knows little or nothing about budgeting and not you who knows too much and finds it hard to relate it to a street person.

BTW they were talking about the generation of the revenue so I didn't bother to go into the expenditure side.

TonyeBarcanista:
Where will they get the money to fund the budget? I hope nobody is considering loan?
Flets:
This government should be reminded that elections are over. Enough of these noises as reality have set in already.

Lets do some simple mathematics.
Nigeria's total crude production currently hovers at 2M barrel per day, but I will assume 2.5M barrel for sake of optimism
Crude oil sells at slightly above $40/ barrel but I will assume $45/ barrel
Most JV agreements with Oil corporations stands at an average of 60% for Nigerian govt.
Cost of production of oil for most companies stand at almost 50% but I will assume 30% (optimist case) and then 70% profit
Only about 52% of total earnings goes to the FG, the remaining goes to state allocations and host state derivation
Assuming an exchange rate 200 naira per dollar and 365 days a year

Federal Government can make approximately 1.8 trillion naira from crude sales for 2016 optimally. Details below
so 2.5Million x $45 x 60% x 70% x 52% x 200 x 365 = 1.8 Trillion Naira

Historically, crude has formed about 70% of our budgets.... following same logic, total budget can only be 2.6 trillion Naira (1.8Trillion/ 70%)

Even if we increase taxes, collapse all tax and duty exemptions and without any diversification efforts by the current government, we will be lucky to add another 1trillion the 2.6 trillion to make it a maximum of 3.6 trillion.

So realistically speaking, 8 trillion FG budget is impossible for 2016. Propagandically speaking, APC govt have said it and they believe their zombies will believe it.
Typical Jonathanians.

Same way someone once said Nigeria does not have N30tn in 5years.

First go and learn what is called ZERO BASED budgeting.

It is the most frugal system of budgeting where you assume you have no money in your pocket and you want to spend N8trn. Meaning you have to go street wise. Nothing like wastage, nothing like excess.

If in 3months after all the trillions spent on election, After the bailout, despite the sharp drop in crude oil price, TSA can still generate N1.4trn. You can then imagine what past government has been stealing.

BTW they are now in government now. So they now see the through picture of things clearer than they even did when they were in the opposition. So you cannot claim the don't know what they're saying.

Has anyone wondered about the dangers of using your phone to get your BVN number. All I see is how excited everybody seems to be. Though its a laudable initiative BUT I feel it would give room for criminals and hackers to easily obtain the BVN number simply by collecting ones phone and using it to send the code thereby obtaining the BVN number. Something urgently needs to be done concerning this OR in the meantime let it be stopped by the NCC. I fear for the repercusions of this. Does anyone concur to what am saying or has a contrary opinion? Please I would like to get contributions. Cc Lalasticlala, Obinoscopy, Ishilove and all other mods please push this to front page let the authorities hear us.
Here is my question.

Don't you give people your account number?

Am sure most of the people that will join in condemning this innovation have distributed their account number to almost everyone on their contact list.

Having access to my BVN is like having access to my account number simple. It doesn't mean you have access to my account.

This is why the western worlds still regard us as being backward.

I have read a number of comments on this forum requesting the owner(seun) to create a dislike button and I am fully in support of it.

It is very important for this forum to have a dislike button so that people can know the true perspective of other readers on whatever they've written.

Having only "like" button without "unlike" button is a biased judgement of peoples opinion. It is like having a "vote of confidence" while a whole lot of people are disenfranchised from showing their "vote of no confidence". If this forum is to really give equal opportunity to everybody to voice their opinion, then there should be dislike button.

People should be able to know that it is not all their opinion that makes sense. So next time they can have a proper thinking before they comment. This will not only put in check the moral bankruptcy that is destroying our society but will go along way to reduce insults on the forum. Why waste time and resource typing insult when I can simply dislike the comment.

Fine is not deducted after profit. The company will count it as part of expenses and deduct it before declaring the profit to be shared by shareholders.
