Focus: Your growth in Life

WORD FOR TODAY
Life does not take you up like a ladder; rather, it grows like a tree. To have the life God desires for you, you must go through a process and obey God completely!!!

There is a process you must go through and instructions you must follow at all times if you want to be everything God wants you to be. We saw the steps Joseph took to make his dreams come true. It is not a crime to dream big, but it is a crime to ignore or boycott the process. God used the hands of men to change three sets of cloth in Joseph's life:

1. The cloth of his familiar ground was removed by his brother to usher him into slavery.
2. Potiphers' wife removed the slaves' clothing in order to usher him into the prison.
3. Pharaoh removed the prisoners' cloth to usher him into the palace.

Overall, each process brought him closer to God's plan for his life because he cooperated with God by obeying Him. All great men did not achieve their status overnight. It takes many years for King David to ascend to the throne. Even if you begin to sense God's plan for your life, the only way to grow and learn is to go through the various processes God has prepared for you in destiny.

+ Do you submit your life to various processes meant for your growth?

Lord! Help me to submit to various processes meant for my growth and obey you absolutely in Jesus' name. Amen!!!

You must grow through the various process meant to validate your obedience to God to have the life He wants to give you.

There will be raging storms in this life that will toss you around like a ship on the sea. There will be tribulation, which will allow the hosts of hell to operate. There will be flaws and failures, persecution and foes in battle array to derail your progress. You will become old and feeble, and the strength you once possessed will be lost.

You'll need assistance along the way in this sinful, evil world. To succeed, the Lord must hold your hand and guide you through your journey. Whatever happens on your pilgrimage, you must remember that God is your refuge and an ever-present help in times of trouble. He is the Lord, and He knows everything about you. He rules over the storms of life, and He has never lost a battle. Cooperate with Him to achieve His good pleasure with your life.

+ Do you give maximum priority to God's presence in the affairs of your life?

Lord! Stand by me through the journey of destiny; guide my feet and hold my hand in Jesus' name. Amen!!!

We cannot help but find ourselves in a situation in which various storms will toss us around like a ship on the sea and the hosts of hell will attack to cause our strength to fail. The uncertainty that surrounds our lives causes us to ask the same question Job did: 'When shall I arise, and the night be over?'

This question will remain rhetorical until the Lord appears and demonstrates His salvation in our individual lives. As a result, we must remember that our times are in His hands and that He will bring us up out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, to set our feet on a rock and establish our steps.

In every aspect of our lives, the period of our night will give way to a new dawn. Let us wait for our change in the days of our hard service. God's promises will undoubtedly be fulfilled.

+ When will you rise? Will you wait for the salvation of the Lord?

Lord! I receive the grace to rise above every limitation of life in Jesus' name. Amen!!!

Most of the time, the earth's pleasurable things are overrated. Sometimes we believe that acquiring certain items will improve our lives, but this is not always the case. Because life will always tell you that the best is yet to come, an answer to your prayers will always change your perspective on whatever you seek.

In life, we will always come to this one unique conclusion over everything we earnestly anticipate that "So it is not more than this." I don't know what your pursuit in life is; try to find God in everything in life as much as possible. Despite everything he had and enjoyed in life, Solomon concluded that everything was vanity (Eccl 2:10-11) and advised men to consider it a duty to fear God and keep His commandments.

+ What do you seek in your pursuit in life?

Lord! I receive the grace to always seek you in all my pursuit in life in Jesus' name. Amen!!!

The major turning point in the lives of most people always comes mostly when the word of God comes to them. Men of God like Elisha, Jeremiah, Zachariah, Isaiah, Abraham, Gideon, Moses, and Joshua (just to mention a few) were just ordinary men until the word of the Lord came to them. We can read and speak about them simply because they accepted the word of God that came to them.

The Lord is so gracious that He still sends His word to us even in these last days. Each time His word comes to you do not harden your heart but accept and surrender yourself to it like Abram and the likes did; for it doesn't at any time come for fun or as a tradition but as an instrument of elevation in righteousness and deliverance from the evil enterprise of the devil.

If there be any of God's word coming to you; it is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that you as a man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work." (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

The fact that God created us to fulfil a purpose; makes it paramount for Him to send us forth with a blessing and a promise. David having discovered the intention of God over him and his household believed it and prayed to Him to do exactly what He has said.

You must try as much as possible to ask God in prayers for the promise He made to you. It is not the case that God will forget or fail to do what He has said but He is interested in our commitment to believing what He has said and our readiness to possess our possessions.

No matter how impossible His promises may appear to be with respect to the current situation of your life, all you have to do is to tell Him to do what He has said!

Jesus said your enemies are those of your household. Attributes such as envy and jealousy, greed, vengeance and sheer wickedness are the hallmark of household enemies.

Household enemies range from a wicked husband or wife to a greedy step-mother, an envious brother, an uncle or aunty who does not want your mother or father’s children to do better than his or hers, or a colleague in the office, a wicked house help etc.

Household enemies are more dangerous because you are usually less cautious with them. You usually have no problem dealing with known enemies. But you lower your guards at home because you believe you are in the midst of people who love and care for you.

When you overcome battles that has to do with household enemies other battles of life become easier. Be on your guard and dwell in the circumference of God's presence. Allow the Holy Spirit to lead in your relationship with men.

Lord! Deliver us from every enemies who stick close to us as friends in Jesus' name. Amen!!!

Everything you have achieved so far in life is possible because the Lord built it for you. You failed in certain areas of life simply because the Lord refused to support you or you didn't cooperate with Him to help you. There is nothing we can do without God who rules in all affairs of men.

Joseph had the opportunity to work out things for himself when He was tempted but He acknowledged God and submitted to Him to build his glorious destiny. Even though he suffered, His destiny did not fail because God stood by him to bring His word to pass. Gehazi tried to work out things for himself without regard for God but turned out to be a reproach.

To be what God wants you to be you must allow Him to do His work in your life in His way. Whatever God is not building or helping you to build in your life will not stand. Every seed of unrighteousness will bear the fruit of reproach.

Lord! Do not stop your work in my life, perfect all that which concerns me in Jesus' name. Amen!!!

Focus: Don't Eat Stones as Bread

WORD FOR TODAY
The fact that every hungry man needs food does not change the fact that stone is not food; you must never eat stones as bread. Each time you yield yourself to temptation, what you are doing is synonymous with eating stones as bread!!!

The devil is not ignorant of the fact that the Lord must have been hungry after fasting for forty days; hence, he told Him to turn stones into bread. The Lord made it clear to him that "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God."
(Matt.4.4). In like manner, the devil will always come to you and instruct you to do the same in various aspects of life.

Today several men are performing "wonderful miracles" turning stones into bread and at the same time consuming it. They embezzle funds kept in their care to enrich themselves; train their children in school, build houses, buy cars and several wonderful possessions of life. In this season when people are seriously in need they withhold the salaries of men, some of their houses are loaded with resources meant to give to people but they kept them for themselves.

Those who engage in pre-marital sex, adultery, take or give bribes, steal what belongs to others and the likes are not left out. All that we enjoy as men will surely finish, hence, be mindful of the fact that "Man shall not live by bread alone". Every stone you eat as the bread will never help you but will rather kill you because the wages of sin is death. Don't eat stones as bread honour the word of God in everything you do!!!

+ In what way are you eating stones as bread?

Lord! Help me to honour your words in every situation of life; may I never eat stones as bread in Jesus' name. Amen!!!

When God rejects a man, He causes men to reject him. Whatever you think you are, no matter how great, talented, or skilled you appear to be, if no one appreciates, presents, or recommends you, you are nothing.

Even though there is nothing you can become apart from God, the fact remains that when God answers prayers or wishes to bless life, He employs men to carry out His will. The magnitude of your personal strength is a reflection of the quality of human resources at your disposal.

Never underestimate the importance of human resources. They can act as a link between where you are now and the glorious future that awaits you. As a result, you must exercise extreme caution in your interactions with men. You are where you are today not because of today, but because of the future. Make a good impression wherever you find yourself.

Helping yourself in this context does not imply relying on the arm of flesh for assistance, but rather agreeing to yield yourself to the advances God is making towards you through the people He is bringing your way. The fact that God is always willing to assist does not change the fact that you must assist yourself for God to assist you. He requires your cooperation to do His will in your life.

Elijah was expected to eat before embarking on his journey. By following the instructions given to him, he was able to travel for 40 days and nights without becoming tired. The parable of the ten virgins taught us that every man must accept responsibility for his own life.

If a child has people who will send him or her to school or give him or her the opportunity to attend school, he or she must be prepared to help himself perform well. It is your responsibility to earn God's salvation, blessing, and promises for your life. The point at which the prodigal son submitted himself to make things right with his father was a watershed moment in his life.

If you live in obedience, doing what the Lord requires of you and staying where He wants you to be, no matter how effective the evil enterprise of the evil one appears to be over your life, God's purpose will be fulfilled. When Joseph's brother was successful in selling him to Egypt, they boasted that His dreams would never come true. Unknown to them, they set his destiny on course.

At a time when they thought that they have prevailed over him, by the power of God; He said: "I am Joseph your brother" The same scenario also played out when Christ Jesus was crucified to put an end to His dynasty, supremacy and Lordship but the whole thing lasted to the third day. Death became a victory for Him and the perfection of the work of salvation of all mankind. Every evil enterprise of the evil one in your life is a win for the fulfilment of God's purpose for your life as long as you remain in Him and live according to His purpose!!!

Lord! Let every situation of life around me work out your good pleasure in my life in Jesus' name. Amen!!!

The primary purpose of Christ's death in men's lives is to put an end to their sinful nature. When the work of the cross is effective in a man's life, his life will take a new direction and fulfil God's purpose. There will be a noticeable difference between his previous life and his new life. This is evident in the life of the Apostle Paul; from the time of his encounter with Jesus Christ, he was not found among those who persecuted God's people.

The experience of Jesus Christ's resurrection, as revealed by the fact that He was no longer where they had placed Him, speaks of what should happen to every man who has experienced the power of resurrection. It should also be said of you that you are no longer among those who engage in adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, wrathful outbursts, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, and revelries. When any of these continue to manifest in a man's life, the missing link is the power of resurrection.

The death of Christ on the cross is meant to help every man who accepts
Him to live a sacrificial life. The fact that Christ died for all, those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again (2Cor.5.15). You are expected to renounce yourself and yield your whole life to the will of Christ.

To be a living sacrifice means submitting yourself to Christ and acknowledging His reign over every aspect of your life. It is always living not to please ourselves, not to advance our interests, but to please our Lord and do His work. It is denying ourselves of anything sinful in His sight. Also, It is joyfully making any sacrifice that
our dedication to Him requires. It is giving up pleasure or comfort for the good of others.

+ Are you a living sacrifice?

Lord! Help me to always yield myself as a living sacrifice in Jesus' name. Amen!!!

Emphasis:
The essence of Christ's death will only be achieved in the life of a man who is a living sacrifice!!!

The beauty of Christ's death in a man's life is complete deliverance from selfishness. God's work will have no impact on your life unless you develop a sacrificial heart. Whatever accomplishment you have that benefits no one other than yourself or your immediate circle is a waste in God's eyes. Everything in a self-centred man's life will die with him the day he dies. A selfish man's life is a bad market for God and whoever or whatever he or she serves.

There are some questions you should ask yourself: Who did you assist or train? How many people can you say with certainty that they became something significant because of you? In what ways are you a blessing in men's lives? Unfortunately, several men in positions of authority became richer as they were leaving at the end of their tenure, but the domain they left is in shambles and a shadow of what it once was. People may not challenge you or even notice your failure, but God will.

Because there is a grave right in front of all men, we should not live for ourselves but the will of God. Remember that you are accountable to God and that you are expected to live a sacrificial life like our Lord Jesus Christ in everything you do!

Knowing God is essential for living the life God intends for you. Knowing God entails following Christ and walking in His footsteps. The Apostle Paul's life took a dramatic turn when he had an encounter with Christ and learned about His personality. He transformed from a persecutor of God's people to a man who defends the Lord's course and works to advance the Kingdom's business.

When Zacchaeus came into contact with Jesus, he became a changed man. Knowing Jesus influenced him to repentance before God and men. Because they knew God, people like David, Daniel, and Joseph became who God wanted them to be. When a man yields himself to know God and begins to work and walk in His ways, his life improves. You must know God in order to do God's will and be a blessing to your world.

The fact that several men who had a significant impact in their time have died establishes that we will all die and be forgotten. Life is a temporary assignment given to us to worship God and carry out His will!!!

We will all pass and be forgotten. We must live our daily lives with the expectation that we will leave our homes, offices, churches, and all other placements. We must be careful not to become too attached to anything other than God's purpose in the fulfilment of our mandate.

As we move forward in life, we must make certain that we give our all and accomplish our goals. We must remember that records will be broken and that God did not create a man who will be great forever. The only thing said about the great men of the past will be that they were great. Their glory had passed them by. Your primary responsibility in life is to fulfill the purpose for which you were created. This is what greatness entails. Bless your world with your existence.

Recent events have provoked some deep thoughts on this recently coined marital maxim that’s beginning to gain wide acceptance. It is becoming increasingly acceptable in Christian circles to counsel a wife that finds herself living with an abusive situation that is tending towards domestic violence to pack her load and leave before she is killed. The thinking is, “it is only the living that can seek a marital resolution”. And against the backdrop of two recent cases of well-known women (especially the Gospel singer of the “Ekwueme” fame) that have been purportedly beaten to death by their husbands, it is becoming easily canonizable to persuade women to quickly separate, even if they will not divorce.

I personally feel the pain of these tragic deaths and loss to the body of Christ and humanity.

However, the sentimental feelings of sympathy with the deceased and domestically abused must not be allowed to gradually push the Church towards accepting a dangerous “one degree deviation” from the truth. If we do, it will eventually crystallize into the “divorce on demand” era into which the backslidden church of the Western world has already been plunged.
PLS HEAR ME OUT!

I know that this opinion is held by some of my well meaning friends and colleagues in ministry but permit me to “dissent sharply”, hoping I can do it in love! I feel personally responsible to sound the alarm for the sake of our younger generations, before we hand over a compromised marital gospel.

God not only hates divorce, He does not like separation! To say He does not hate separation is to say He likes it, He does not mind it and He actually accepts or encourages it. That, to all intents and purposes, is very very far from the mind of God for the marital institution.
If we read the Malachi 2:16 in the KJV, it actually says He hates “putting away”. We all know that divorce is only the last bus-stop (the Terminus) on the road of several “putting aways”. God obviously does not like the ‘cold shoulder’. He does not like the “shortwave communication” of single syllables. He does not like the “sleeping to face the opposite sides of the bed”. He certainly hates the separation in heart and mind, long before the separation of body and property which we call divorce.

All of the above is simply the theology of our subject but we must settle theology to help us map our way through the maze of the practicalities of every day living.

Am I therefore saying that wives should stay on and die in domestic violence? No! I am saying that separation is not the divine solution and is never the first option. To quickly separate is a lazy easy way out approach to solving issues that necessarily starts small and long before the incidence of domestic violence.

Getting married in virtually all cultures, is a long emotional process of wooing and love bargaining. Most marriages are neither forced nor imposed. Both usually profess love and affection. So, something somewhere somehow causes the love-turned-hatred. What eventually becomes domestic violence usually starts with some little little irritations which if not handled or mishandled snowballs into big trouble. So beating a wife does not happen without signals.

Let me say upfront that nothing, No! nothing justifies domestic violence from a Husband to his wife. And it is only a weak, incapable husband that vents his frustration on a delicate object of love and affection that the wife represents. Any man who beats his wife has confessed his poverty of spiritual and mental capacity to command a submission by his life and wisdom from his wife. Only after such internal admission do men reach for their fists to conquer the weaker sex.

However, truth be told, unless a man is diagnosed with insanity, nobody beats his wife without a provocation. And most women believe in their caustic tongues and speech as adequate weapon of retaliation whenever they feel cheated by their husbands.

I even heard a woman preacher in the wake of these discussions, tell her congregation that God gave women “a mouth that runs” to balance the physical power he gave to the men. I do not doubt that women generally has the power of the tongue but I dare say they were not given such capacity to abuse and provoke their husband; just the same way God did not give the man physical power to beat his wife.
The marital problems we have today can neither be solved by violent fists nor caustic mouths. Both only result in the divorce that God manifestly hates.

When we teach young people about marriage I tell them “Marriage is 20% correct choice plus 80% correct principles”. That a couple secured the will of God in marriage is not a sufficient basis for a stable enjoyable marriage. They must determine to follow the Manufacturer’s manual for marriage and simply obey the single, single instructions to every member of the home . . .
— Husband love (care for, tend, grow).
— Wife submit (follow, defer to, honour).
— Children obey (respond, follow instructions)
— Fathers provoke not (harass not)
— Servants obey (not with eye service) and
— Masters, forbear threatening.
Ephesians 5 & 6

Most people who quickly recommend separation (forgive me) are simply unwilling or unable to do the labour of painstakingly identifying the irritation point in a marital conflict, removing the thorn that’s reddening the eyes and applying the balm of Gilead. That’s why real Pastors are never quick to recommend leaving. They know it is the beginning of sorrows for all involved and especially their children who suffer untold mental and developmental disabilities as a result. They simply roll up their spiritual sleeves and get their gifts working to restore love and harmony where it has ebbed out. I admit they do not succeed in all cases but I can confirm they do in much more cases.

Marital problems can be solved.
Marital storms can be calmed.
Jesus can still speak . . .
“Peace, be still”.
There’s virtually no irredeemable marriage once one or both parties can be brought under the reign of Christ.
By the special grace of God, I have seen marriages that have already degenerated into domestic violence, mended and become beautiful even when we had no access to the battering husband. God still performs such miracles today.

Even though I know that emotions are high now, and there’s a justified outrage against the husband that allegedly killed this wonderful worship voice, a gift to the body of Christ, yet we must not allow the pendulum swing too wildly to the extreme of setting a dangerous attitude towards conflict in marriage. All of us who have been married for upwards of two, three decades know that even if marriage is a bed of roses, roses have thorns in their branches. Marriage is a union of two unrelenting forgivers. And once the heart melts, the clenched fists become cuddling hands.

We must not produce a generation that holds marriage very loosely and are ready to jettison their marital vows at the slightest opportunity. Satan may have repackaged the concept of divorce into the “leave to live” gospel, aided by the actions of few carnal men who batter women in response to whatever offence; yet we must not buy it of his hands.
We must not establish an error in trying to rectify another. Yes, the woman may in these extreme cases leave the house or dangerous vicinity temporarily, she must not first think of leaving the marriage. These extreme cases must NOT be allowed to set the normal doctrine for the rest of us as if they are in d majority. Pls believe with me . . .

Marriage is to be held in esteem

Grace is a succinct description of the beauty in our lives. We have seen men who appeared to be indispensable and very resourceful, but who died unprepared for eternity. There are people who have wealth, wisdom, power, and knowledge but have been brought low by illness. Some men who were once great and influential have faded into obscurity during their lifetime. Some people are born blind, while others are blind as a result of a variety of life circumstances.

People have these experiences not because they are sinners, but because the grace to overcome them was not made available to them. Whatever the case may be in your life, the fact remains that you are enjoying a measure of God's grace. Recognize God's grace when things appear to be going well for you, whether in business, ministry, career, marriage, or academics. The greatest mistake a man can make in his destiny is to become proud and think of himself more highly than he should.

A man will get the same result if he continues to do things the same way. The issue in some men's lives demanded that they fulfil all righteousness in terms of reconciliation, restitution, and complete obedience in matters peculiar to their destiny. For some, God wishes to use the issues in their lives to send a message to the world, as He did in the lives of Abraham, Joseph, Hannah, and others. When you seek to understand the essence of your experience, you will know what to do to bring about the necessary change in your life.

A man is likely to misbehave and lose in the fulfilment of God's purpose in destiny; if he is too conscious of himself. Self-consciousness is a major issue that must be overcome in order to live the life that God desires for you!!!

After serving his father-in-law for several years, Jacob reached a point in his destiny journey where he felt compelled to accomplish something for himself. As a result of this, Jacob receives all of the best livestock from that point forward. Similarly, we will find ourselves in similar situations where we will feel a strong desire to have an accomplishment and something to show for our hard work or sacrifices. However, you must not be so self-conscious that you endanger others and sin against God.

Self-consciousness is the cause of several men betraying the trust of people over them in government, ministry, business, and other institutions. It is also the reason why some men rejected God's plan for them in terms of marriage, location, and career. The issue of self-consciousness is what destroys Gehazi, Achan, and King Saul. Victory over self-consciousness is what enabled David, Nehemiah, Esther, Joseph, and Elisha to live the lives God intended for them.

Love your neighbour as you love yourself, and be faithful to what belongs to someone else. Submit to God and put your trust in Him for your life. Don't be overly ambitious; instead, trust God and live a sacrificial life. Remember the words of the Lord: Whoever seeks to save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it (Luke.17.33).

Lord! I receive the grace to live a sacrificial life and be who you want me to be in Jesus' name. Amen!!!

No matter how terrible the situation of life may appear to be; you must never downgrade or disbelieve what the Lord can do in your life. We must learn to reverence God irrespective of what is happening to us. Men by nature will always rest or depend on something for survival. To some; it is their job, position, influence, material possession, wife/husband and money. Irrespective of what seems to provide the necessary support for your life; it is expected of you to live by faith.

When the Lord increases you and you become powerful don't be too familiar to the point of disrespecting God or attributing the glory of what you become to your hard work and discipline. Try as much as possible not to live your life by sight nor by the knowledge of men but by faith in God alone. When every other people lose faith in what God can do in your life hold on to Him to make Himself Big in your life.

When it seems as if your faith is failing try as much as possible not to disbelieve what God has said concerning your life. Don't ever say God cannot do what He says he will do irrespective of the prevailing situations but keep faith alive.

Lord! I receive the grace to keep my faith alive in your word in Jesus' name. Amen!!!

When the situation around you is contrary to your expectations and the promises of God for you; keep your faith alive in God!!!

You will always have one reason or the other not to obey God or do His will. All men who became great for God by doing His will also have an excuse not to. You will always be confronted by various issues that will demand that you should obey God at all costs. The only way to have the life God wants to give us is to deny ourselves and submit to God. Doing the will of God begins with denying yourself because the sinful nature of man will never allow a man to do His will.

As you proceed in destiny, be mindful of the fact that you are created to fulfil God's purpose. Hence, you will fulfil the purpose of your creation by doing His will. There is no doubt in the fact that you will strongly desire to do things in your way and have a certain result. However, the will of God is a must for everyone who desires to please God like Christ. Your marriage, career, academics, and business will only benefit God if they are founded on God's will.

Lord! I receive the grace to do your will in Jesus' name. Amen!!!

The Lord wants to be sure of the love, obedience, faith and trust the Israelites had in Him before ushering them into the promised land. They had to pay the price involved in possessing their land of promise through the wilderness experience.

Many of them couldn't make it to the land of promise because they failed the wilderness test. Thank God for everything the Lord has said concerning you. They will only stand when you cooperate with God in His principles. You must brace up to obey God without any reservation.

Be mindful of the fact that every good thing in life comes with a price. At every critical junction of life's achievement; do not seek an easy ride but diligently obey God in His principles.

Lord! I receive the grace to walk and work on the premises of the fulfilment of your promises for my life in Jesus' name. Amen!!!

Despite his family problems, Zachariah received a message from an angel while going about his daily routine activities in the service of God that God had heard his prayers. Because of his age, he may have concluded that God is uninterested, but God, in His mercy, once again demonstrated that He is a God who answers prayers.

You can only tell when a seed is sown, but it is up to the Lord to decide when it will germinate and grow to the point of manifestation. Continue to pray until your joy is complete. Believe that your prayers will be answered. Wait for God to do what He wants to do and work with Him to accomplish His good pleasure in your life. Continue to serve Him even if things do not appear to be improving after a series of prayers.

You must understand that as you move forward in your destiny, God will do His good pleasure in His own time and in His way. Learn how to trust, believe, and hold God's hands in prayer for all of life's issues.

Life is filled with a variety of mysteries. If you want to stand strong and fulfil your destiny, you must always find strength and be strong in the Lord!!!

In His final charge to the Ephesians, Apostle Paul exhorts them to be strong in the Lord because several battles of life are beyond the physical arm's capability. We will also find ourselves in a variety of situations that will place us under intense pressure and serious tension. The only antidote to this is to find strength in the Lord through his word at all times.

Many men today do everything they can to be strong in finance, academics, ministry, business, and career, but they sometimes neglect to be strong spiritually. You must keep in mind that life is spiritual. Every problem in your life tends to attack your salvation, faith, righteousness, the pure truth and belief in God's word, evangelical prowess, and prayer life.

When men become entangled in the web of sin and the pursuit of materialism, the majority of these weapons are stolen and rendered ineffective. We must be alert and vigilant in fortifying ourselves in preserving knowledge in the word of God, faith, salvation, righteous living, truth, evangelism, and our prayer life.

Lord! Help me to always find strength in you in every battle of life in Jesus' name. Amen

Focus: Prepare the way of the LORD

The primary assignment of every man who desires divine intervention is preparing the way of the Lord. For God to walk and work in our lives to do His good pleasure; we must respond to Him and lay aside anything that will hinder His work in our lives!!!

God, right from the ages past had wanted to work out His good pleasure in the lives of men. However, He will never force Himself on men. When Lord saw the need to comfort His people and put an end to their warfare in captivity the word He sent to them was "Prepare the way of the LORD". The implication of this is that even if God will put an end to their oppression they had the sole responsibility of preparing the way of the Lord.

The Lord is not ignorant of both the general and individual ordeal we are facing at this point. The voice you must never ignore even as you take physical precautions, pray, fast and engage in every spiritual activity is "Prepare the way of the LORD". Allow various situations around you to open your eyes to what God requires of you. It is time to repent, draw close to God, and get it right with Him to walk and work in His ways!

In every situation of life, be mindful of the fact that one good thing to do is to draw near to God. Sometimes, the essence of the challenging experience we have is to bring us close to God. The purpose God allow what happened to you to happen will only be achieved if you allow the situation to bring you close to Him.

It is evident that the entire world is facing challenges. Nations are rising against nations, challenges of insecurity, high inflation and economic meltdown; are the present order of things. This time should remind everyone of us that the night is drawing nearer when men will not be able to work. Hence, it is time to draw near to God and seek His face for intervention. Examine yourself and amend your ways according to God's will for you!!!

The fact that this month came to an end today remind us of the fact that there is an end to every phase in life. Irrespective of how glorious your existence appear to be in the domain of your placement do not forget that a time will come when you will have to bid goodbye!!!

You must be aware of an important fact wherever you are; you will undoubtedly leave, whether intentionally or unintentionally. We must never live our lives as if we will never leave. There are a lot of goodbyes in life. People change jobs, break up relationships, retire, get transferred and eventually pass away. It will be a great omission for you don't live your life with the orientation that you will leave your domain.

Paul in his final message to the Corinthians said: "Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you." 2 Cor 13:11. He is not ignorant of the fact that; that might be the last opportunity to get in touch with them. No matter how enormous our opportunities are in life a particular one which is the last will surely come. Do your best to please God and live everyday of your life with an assumption that it is the last.

Focus: Allow Your Ishmael to Die

Every Ishmael still standing is evil in waiting. When God offers help to deal with it for you, don't hinder Him. Allow God to help you to correct your mistakes and shortcomings in every aspect of life!!!

"And Abraham said to God, "Oh, that Ishmael might live before You!". Then God said: "No, Sarah your wife shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac; I will establish My covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his descendants after him." (Genesis 17:18-19 NKJV).

When Abraham accepted an offer to have an alternative to God's promises for his life what he got was Ishmael. The best you can get from every offer presented as an alternative to God's original offer is Ishmael. As far as God is concerned Ishmael must die. But Abraham pleaded that Ishmael should live. With this action; the entire world is yet to recover.

Allow God to kill your Ishmael before it creates an unresolvable issue in your life. He is an omniscient God who knows the end from the beginning. Ishmael represents every work of the flesh in the life of a man. The verdict of God over every work of the flesh is that it must die.

When the Lord confronts you with issues that have to deal with your foundation do not hesitate to admit your shortcomings and submit to God's will by absolute repentance. This is because there is nothing the righteous will do over a faulty foundation. Give no room to excuses allow God to correct your mistakes.

+ Do you cooperate with God to help your life?

Lord! Teach me to pattern my ways according to your will and allow You to shape my life in line with Your purpose in Jesus' name. Amen!!!

Every assignment given to you to do on earth can only be done while you are alive. To be alive is a great privilege. Hence, like our Lord Jesus Christ, you must do the work of the Father while it is the day because the night is coming when no one can work. Every opportunity we have is an opportunity to do the work of the father.

Jesus made disciples and commanded them to also make disciples so that in every generation there will be men who will illuminate the dark world of sin and incapacitate the works of darkness. The purpose of your creation is expected to be fulfilled while you are on earth. You can only win souls, live righteously, love your neighbour, help people, make a mark in the sand of time and please God while you are still on earth.
