WORD FOR TODAY
Courage and skill are worth little without favour and mercy. A man is guaranteed success in his endeavours if and only if God has mercy on him and makes him find favour before men!!!

When the time of a man has not come, life will not give him the opportunity or chance to express himself, hence, he will remain stagnant without any remarkable progress until his time comes. The skill and the anointing of David were not recognized until the day life gave him the chance by God's mercy to showcase what he was made of in high places.

We live our everyday life having the orientation that we need to work hard, acquire skills and prepare very well to achieve great things in life. However, life has proven beyond reasonable doubt that success in life is not a function of skill, preparation, conscious labour but mercy, grace and favour.

In this life, several wonderful people would have made a remarkable mark in various aspects of life but they are not known because the mercy and favour of God were not made available in the journey of destiny. The word of the Lord said: It is vain for you to rise early, To sit up late, To eat the bread of sorrows; For so He gives His beloved sleep. (Ps127:2 ). As you proceed in destiny, you need favour and mercy for your joy to be complete.

+ What have you achieved in life without God's favour and mercy?

Lord! Let me be favoured by your mercy in every facet of life in the journey of destiny in Jesus name. Amen!!!

Focus: The Breach of Brotherhood

The essence of having a brother is that he will be a helper in the days of adversity. When a brother fails to make himself available to help his brother who needs such an act, it is regarded as a breach of brotherhood!!!

Each time a man remembers that he has a brother, normally, he should be rest assured that he has someone to have his back in time of adversity. It is a pity that many so-called brothers who gave room to envy, dark passion as a result of work of the flesh are the brain behind the ordeal some people are passing through.

Cain was the first man to engage in this act when he killed Abel his brother. Jacob refused to help Esau when he was hungry and took the advantage of his ordeal to get his birthright. He also deceived his father Isaac to get the blessing meant for Esau. This sowed an evil seed into the lineage of Jacob. The sons of Jacob also committed the same offence their father committed. They sold Joseph into Egypt as a slave and also deceived their father (Jacob). This act sowed a seed of slavery in the household of Israel.

The aftermath of the breach of brotherhood is deadly and disastrous; God will not take it lightly. It is a great sin against God if you fail to help your brother when he needs it most or you make yourself an instrument of destruction to the life of your brother. As you proceed in destiny be mindful of the fact that a brother is born for adversity.

+ Have you at any time been a victim of the breach of brotherhood?

Lord! help me to be a brother indeed and a blessing to my world in Jesus name. Amen!!!

You have not gotten anything until you get wisdom in every aspect of life. Getting wisdom begins with acknowledging and referencing God in all you do. The assurance that you will turn out well in destiny depends on the fact that you are gaining the heart of wisdom.

In every quest to fulfil your purpose and mandate wisdom is the principal thing. Money or various life's resources is not the first thing to seek in every situation of life but wisdom. The money or resources at the disposal of a man will amount to nothing if he lacks wisdom. Hence, seek God and acknowledge Him in all your pursuit. Reference and honour Him with your decision.

When a man becomes too big in his eyes in God's presence, he trivializes the personality of God. As you increase find grace under God to remain small in your eyes before God.

David despite being the King danced as an ordinary person before God. The extraordinary power of God will be of no effect in the life of a man if he fails to remain ordinary before God his creator. No matter what you become by the mercy of God don't forget the fact that you are dust and make effort to remain ordinary before God.

Don't forget who you use to be. Be mindful of the fact that there is nothing you became or can become without the help of God. No matter what you have become that is enough to live in isolation from your creator. To become big in God's presence is to go down the drain.

The assurance that you will go far in destiny and turnout well is in how much you will keep humbling yourself as the Lord in His mercy increase you in all aspects of life

The major difference between merit and mercy is the degree of God's involvement in various issues of life. Merit speaks more of your capacity while mercy denotes the capacity of God working on your behalf!!!

Even though God expects you to play your part in every issue that has to do with your life; He does not want you to depend on your strength alone. The Lord wants you to depend on and trust your entire life to Him in all issues of life.

Merit sets limits to how far you can go or the position of your placement but mercy qualifies you beyond your qualification. You have never seen or had access to some places, but when God decides to have mercy on you; God's mercy will speak for you there.

The beauty of your capability is in how much your life operates under His mercy. Life has proven over time that; what you get is not commensurate to the level of your effort or capability. Until a man understands the concept of God's mercy; he will never enjoy the fullness of God's goodness in the land of the living.

The plan of God for your life anytime any day is bigger than your thoughts and expectations. The Lord in every bid to give us hope and a future cancels most of our thoughts to implement His thoughts for our lives!!!

If you can examine your life critically you will observe that God has done beyond your thoughts, imagination and expectations. Many times we limit ourselves due to our previous experiences but God by his mercy takes us above every limitation of our thoughts. We have in the time past thought that we would die, fail and become miserable because of what befell us but mercy says NO.

If God had allowed the thoughts of Joseph to prevail he would never have become a Prime Minister of Egypt because he may not want to leave his father. Therefore, the likes of Joseph, 3 Hebrews and Daniel became famous according to God's thoughts for them on the account of the evil done to them that they would naturally not want to experience.

The path the Lord is taking you through irrespective of how terrible it appears to be is the pathway to having a future and hope. Appreciate God and honour him in your ways even as you put your trust in him to bring His word to pass in your life.

Tender mercy, kindness, humility, meekness, long-suffering, perseverance, forgiveness are intrinsic attributes of Love that every child of God must possess. Showing love is the most effective way to activate the presence of God. This is because, where there is love there you find God.

Love is the only factor that has the power to inspire all men irrespective of their faith, belief, religion, colour, race and background. When the Lord is set to bless a man and make him relevant among other people, He inspires men to love him.

A man becomes a celebrity when the Lord inspires men to love him and what he does irrespective of the qualities of such things and his qualification. All you need to be successful in every facet of life is love. You need someone to love you as a husband, wife, father and mother. Also, you need someone to love your services, profession, faith, message, belief to deliver your God's given mandate. However, you must sow the seed of love to reap love in every facet of life.

When you begin to enjoy the blessing of the Lord in various areas of life, it is for you to be a blessing and not for merriment which leads to drunkenness. When your coast is enlarged; it is for enlarged responsibility.

When God perform miracles in your life is it place you in a proper position by experience to serve God the more. When life becomes easier, it is time to get busy fulfilling your mandate and not a time to be at ease for sleep or spiritual death. As you proceed in destiny, see everything the Lord is doing in your life as an investment meant to yield a bountiful harvest for His glory!!!

The primary and the most critical assignment the devil wants to achieve is to ensure our isolation with God the Father. The ordeal of the prodigal son began when he accepted to go away from his father. Gehazi kept the thought of going after Naaman to get something away from Elisha and took his journey. Most of what led people into trouble were those things they kept away from their guardians (God's word and people of God)

It is an outright deception from the pit of hell for a man to think his life will be better of, going away from his creator or isolating himself from God's people. The devil couldn't achieve his aim with Eve until he succeeded in taking her away from the truth. Whatever takes you away from the truth, prayer, God's word, your consecration and people of God tends to isolate you for slaughter. Find grace under God never to yield to the temptation of isolating yourself from God; it is very costly.

Everything around us speaks about various times. Years have come and gone. Wonderful people have come and gone. The fact that we are approaching the end of this year establishes the fact that everything will surely come to an end.

As you can see, this moment is already passing away. The lifestyle of men who are ungodly in this present age validates the words of God concerning the end time. Don't be surprised when you see yourself or other people living their lives according to 2 Tim 3:1-5. These are the signs of the time.

Be on your guard, irrespective of your age, the time is drawing nearer to you than ever. Let's be at alert, if men will fulfil the prophecy of the perilous time, then our salvation is very much nearer than when we believed.

God has done so much for us and we cannot tell it all. Despite the effect of the hard time imposed on the entire human race in terms of loss of life, jobs, career, materials, relationships; the Lord brought us this far.

The Lord deserves nothing but our appreciation and worship. Faith in God demands that you believe that all He does is good and the best for you. Life has proven over time that not all good things are good for the heart of men. God uses both the good and bad things of life to shape our lives into His intended purpose for us. That you are still alive signifies that you have hope and a better tomorrow lies ahead.

If there is anything the Lord wants to give you according to His will, you must never get tired of searching for it. The fact that you have tried and failed so many times does not signify that you can't get your needs and desires met.

It is very painful for a man to labour so hard while others are sleeping and catch nothing. The case of your life may be similar to the case of Peter. The Lord is not ignorant of your labour; a day of favour is looming. A single day of favour is greater than several years of labour.

If you can see around you the blessings of God that you so much desire and have been longing for in the lives of men then you must never give up. Be persistent in launching into the deep in anticipation of a great catch in the direction of God's will for your life. One day and very soon you will have a breakthrough that will cancel all your failures.

In this big world, your small little world (family) which represent your lot in the land of the living will always make you feel good and be motivated in various issues of life.

The ultimate plan of God for all mankind is that we should all have a home from which we will be taught the required values to fear and please God, face the various situation of life and where we can take solace from various troubles of life.

A Godly family is not expected to be judgemental nor pull its member down. It will never make you feel small. It is the only place where your weaknesses will be exposed and people will never laugh at your weakness but rather help you to grow about it. Be committed to ensuring that your family lived up to God's expectation

What happened in Luke 17:17 is a typical example of what is happening in this present age. Each time we see at least ten people showing gratitude to God there are also at least ninety people who fail to show gratitude just because they have become too familiar with God's goodness.

This life is so funny; where someone is bearing grudges with the fact that some of his expectations for this year are not met and claims he has no spectacular reason to thank God, there is another man somewhere who is ready to sell everything he has gathered for years if that would give him the good health he desires.

The word of the Lord makes it clear to us that we should thank Him in all situations because it is the will of God for us. The Lord knows what is best for you. Irrespective of your lot in the land of the living, the Lord demands your gratitude; because beyond your imagination and understanding the Lord has done so much for you. Show gratitude that there is a purpose and plan for your life bigger than you.

After David settled down as King, He began to reflect on his past and the Love that was shown to Him when he was a nobody. He did not only stop at the point of reflection but also attempted to repay the kindness and the love shown to him. This happened because Jonathan the son of King Saul sowed the seed of love in the life of David.

Also, if you can take time to critically evaluate what has happened so far in your life you will discover that there is nothing you achieved without Love. The Lord in His graciousness prompted men to show you, undisputed love.

Hence, you must never forget the seed of love sown into your life. Sow the seed of love in the lives of men who will also find themselves in situations similar to those you were which prompted men to come to your aid.

Each time a man breaks the principle of God he has succeeded in breaking His promises over him. The Lord will only take responsibility for your life irrespective of who you are and what you claim to be before men if you are walking in obedience to His principles.

All men who saw how the eyes of Samson was plugged out will say the Lord has abandoned him; whereas Samson on many occasions broke the principle of God and that of his calling. When a man keeps living his life contrary to God's principles he keeps subjecting the efficacy of the power of God in his life.

The fact that God is merciful does not change the fact that He does not compromise His principles. The Lord does not give up on us when we go astray but will always wait and delay His promises until we get it right with him. Hence, some miracles will not happen in the life of a man until he walks in perfect obedience before God.

The remuneration of a man who commits sins for any reason is death. Whatever solution a man seeks that comes from other sources order than God plunges such into sin that will lead to his destruction. As you proceed in destiny, be mindful of the fact that sin will but proffer solutions to various issues that will come your way.

We don't know the suggestion of sin to the likes of Gehazi and Achan but we know that the act of sin brought about their destruction. The most important enemy you have as you proceed in destiny is the devil. Taking suggestions for solutions from your enemy is regarded as foolishness. Never subscribe to any offer that comes from a sinful act; the way of the Lord is the way of wisdom!!!

+ What manner of solution do you seek?

We will only go forth in life by faith alone. The advantage a believer has over other creations of God is access to what God has said. We are not in a perfect world; hence, things will not always go our way. As long as we live in this terrain anything can happen. We must be mindful of the fact the outcome as we face issues of life may be favourable or unfavourable.

Whatever the case may be facing issues of life; remember what God has said and lived by it. There is no amount of preparation in terms of having financial, spiritual, academic, ministerial, intellectual resources that can save a man and give him the required outcome in some issues of life except the word of God. Several men falter when trouble from issues of life comes because they depend absolutely on the aforementioned resources. You will only have peace by faith alone!!!

Life is given to serve God and do His will. A man has not come into the perfect will of God for his life until he submits himself to God and walks in His ways. As long as we live, it is the expectation of God that we align our lives according to His will.

Each time you discover that your ways are not right with God or it comes to your subconsciousness that you are falling short of God's requirement in certain areas of life it is expected of you to repent and change your ways to get right with God. The life we have today gives us an opportunity to walk with God.

If there is any time to key into the precious plan of God for your life by surrendering your life absolutely to His will, it is now. Don't procrastinate on the day of salvation. It is time to walk with God and restitute your ways before Him.

Everybody wants to be promoted but some people don't mind having it through any means. However, promotion only comes from God.

King Solomon in his observations about the activities under the sun discovered that: The race is not to the swift, Nor the battle to the strong, Nor bread to the wise, Nor riches to men of understanding, Nor favor to men of skill; But time and chance happen to them all." (Ecclesiastes 9:11).

An increment in your income or level of operation doesn't signify promotion. When God lifts a man, it doesn't come by his effort, doing or expertise.

Therefore, no matter what you do and know how to do best; God is the ultimate factor that determines promotion. In your pursuit in life, try as much as possible not to sideline God: don't be wise in your own eyes but acknowledge Him in all your ways.

Pleasing God is the required antidote against the will of the enemy. This is the weapon Joseph used to bring his dreams to reality.

The greatest evil you can do to yourself as God's children is to be living in sin. Prayer becomes a necessity after you have pleased God. Pleasing God is what makes your plea before God effective. Pleasing God entails obeying God's word and walking in His ways. The assurance that you will overcome all challenges in your life in every quest to fulfil your mandate is that your ways please God.

There is no man without a peculiar weakness in various aspects of life. However, we are not expected to give up on improving ourselves in every aspect of our weaknesses. Life gives every man a fair chance to grow and improve in every facet of life. Therefore, live your entire life having the orientation that your weakness can turn to strength because we have a God who specializes in giving power to the weak.

There are times when some issues can be handled without any hurdles. When the situation has not gotten out of hand; it makes an allowance for a solution. Now that you still have control over various shortcomings of your life, be humble enough to seek the help of God to deal with it.

If there is a sin eating you up and depriving you of the liberty you have in God, it is time to confess and forsake them. UnCloth and seek help in the appropriate quarters before they disgrace you. Don't be too big to acknowledge your weaknesses before God and men who can help you.

An indication that a man is advancing towards the gate of death will be seen when his soul abhors all manner of food. To go forth in life and fulfil your mandate in destiny you must avail yourself to eat appropriately. The recommendation of God to Elijah to go on with the assignment given to him is to eat.

Men will not but sick when this happens, the first medication is food, which is to be followed by whatever is required to be taken to restore good health. Don't allow your aliment to hinder you from eating. Every effort made to prevent you from eating is an effort made towards the gate of death.

This is also applicable to your spiritual, marital, career and academic life. The word of God is the best food for your soul. When you stop eating or feeding your soul with the required food in various aspects of life you sign up for death!!!!

Life is a test. When God places a man in a leadership position, He subjects him to the test of righteousness and how much he can reverence Him. Most of the time, those in leadership positions are not always the best set of individuals available in such domain but mostly those who are privileged.

When you find yourself in the capacity of employing men, determining the fortune of people, administering funds, transferring people, impacting younger lives, having access to people's information, saving lives do it in righteousness and the fear of God.

It is when you do this that your life will be like the light of the morning when the sun rises, a morning without clouds, like the tender grass springing out of the earth, by clear shining after rain. (2Sam 23:4). Be conscious of the fact that life is a temporary assignment. After your rule, people will either bless or curse you and your life will become a reverence point based on the peculiarity of your deeds.

Experience is a great teacher but the price is too high. The ultimate interest of the Lord for allowing everything happening to you is that; He wants to teach you something out of it.

In our text, the Israelites came to a point in their life where the reason for their experiences over the years was made known: that man shall not live by bread alone. Our judgement, orientation, aspiration, message, view about life and reason for a living may not be correct if our lives are not subjected by force to certain experiences.

Make yourself available for God's dealings to be what He wants you to be. Don't boycott the experience designed to help you in life.

I have come to discover that we cannot but face different issues in life and these issues are the bedrock of the success which beautify our lives. We must learn to accept the people God bring around us with love; accept their weaknesses and identify with them in their challenges.

In this life, we have seen people who left their marriage because of issues with the other partner. Friends and associates have neglected some people because of the challenge they have. We must not be ignorant of the fact that all men will have a share of their ordeal in the journey of destiny. Do not fail the test of love (Rom.13.. Learn how to walk in love by providing the needed support for people when it matters most.

Lord! I will not fail the test of love; help me to walk in love in Jesus name. Amen.

Some men gathered several material possessions around themselves yet they don't enjoy life because they don't have peace, joy, satisfaction and fulfilment. There are equally men who don't have much, they have no wealth in terms of money and material possessions but enjoy life because the Lord at every point in time meets their needs by His mercy.

The mercy of God made available for you on daily basis is what is keeping you going in the journey of destiny. When David was keeping his father's sheep, beer and lion came at different times but David killed them in each case. This mercy drops over his life gave him the required confidence to confront and defeat Goliath. This victory brought him to the limelight of the fulfilment of his mandate (1Sam 17).

The cumulative mercies of God are what makes you who you are and the bedrock of what you will be. The testimonies of the mercy drop in various aspects of life are the required confidence to approach your future.
Appreciate God for who He has been to you and what He is set to do in your life.

In the parable of the talent, the man who received one talent felt that the Master was not fair to him; hence, he became unproductive. The same applies to all men who felt God is not fair to them in terms of blessing, anointing and various resources placed at their disposal. To have the best in every facet of life the best feelings is required. A man who is having the feeling of failure, disappointments and bad luck will never experience success and prosperity except for God's mercy.

The Israelites were rejoicing when they were leaving Egypt and advancing towards the land of their promise. They were ignorant of the red sea, mara and manna experiences of the wilderness, but God already knew what to do on those occasions.

The assurance that every crooked place will be made straight and every gate of bronze and bars of iron of hindrances will be broken in pieces are possible only when the Lord goes ahead of you. As long as you live, one limitation you will not be able to overcome is the knowledge of what is ahead.

The recommendation of God on the way we should live is by faith. Hence, we are not expected to live our lives in isolation from God our creator. Don't use your experiences in life to determine your next move but be led by the spirit. Various life's complexities and complications can be avoided if a man will seek and walk in the will of God for his life.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~At every point where the situation of life appears as if God fails; the failure is not attributed to God but men. The fact that there are several promises of God concerning your life does not change the fact that your cooperation and obedience is needed to bring it to pass.

God promised to bring the Israelites to the promised land and performed several miracles in a buildup to bring them into the land but many of them couldn't make it to the land on the account of their disobedience to God. God will not but always do what He says; however, it will always be in the premise of obedience. He does little or nothing in the midst of disobedience and indiscipline.

No man will become what God did not plan for him to be. You don't need to struggle illegitimately to become anything in life but to grow into what God wants you to be. At best, struggling illegitimately for relevance can bring a man to the limelight but his weakness will be made open to all. The only way to relevance and significance in life is to grow in the grace God made available for you in every aspect of life.

David did not kill anyone to become King, he waited for his time and entered into Gods plan for his life. Absalom is ready to pull down just any man even if it is his father or member of his family; however, he did not achieve his aim because God did not give him. Whatever you are not given by God you can never have. Even if you force it on yourself you will keep struggling because the joy and the fulfilment of having it can never be yours.
