Focus: Life is a Gift

WORD FOR TODAY
The life you have today is given to you. Irrespective of your experience in life you must never forget the fact that life is a gift!!!

You don't have any right over whatever is tagged as a gift to you. Life is a gift because your existence was never your idea and the fact that you still live was not because you are righteous nor holy than those who have passed on. If you can examine your life critically, you will discover that you are a product of His mercy.

When life smiles at you and things appeared to be falling in their rightful place; don't forget the fact that it is the gift of God. Hence, you must not waste the opportunity. However, when life appeared to be tough be mindful of the fact that it is still a gift and God the giver of life can turn things around.

Always find grace to enjoy every moment of your life and live with the orientation that life is all about the giver. You must always thank God at least for life and don't engage in the frantic race of comparing yourself with anyone. What you don't have can't give you joy, hence don't be sad over what you don't have but appreciate God for everything He has given you.

Lord! I thank you for the gift of life; give me the grace to enjoy every bit of it in Jesus name. Amen!!!

WORD FOR TODAY
Where you are is not where you used to be and where you are presently is not where you will always be. Every man will depart various stages of life at the expiration of his time!!!

Every man is designed to pass through the stages of infancy, childhood, adolescence, and adulthood before advancing into eternity. We pass through these stages of life to achieve a certain purpose. At every point in time, you must see life as a set of people who are performing drama with a different scene on stage.

Do not live your life as if you will live forever nor occupy the position of authority for life. No man can be great forever; everything we are doing now will go into memory lane. Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going (Eccl.9.10).

+ How are you living your life?

Lord! I receive the grace to live a fulfilling and purposeful life in Jesus name. Amen!!!

John 5.19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.
20 For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel.

My question is, from these verses, can we imply that the father onces suffered and died for sin?
Jess Christmas says, everything he did, he first saw his father do it.
So did the father also suffer and die for the sins of man?

Focus: Divine Acceptance

WORD FOR TODAY
Getting results is not evidence of divine acceptance. Whatever you achieve disobeying God is not acceptable to Him and it is a waste to the kingdom investment!!!

We are in a world which is result-oriented. When you claim to be doing something people expect you to have what to show for doing it. Even though it is good we get a good result from whatever we do, the fact remains that our fulfilment is subject to divine approval and acceptance of it.

The Israelites saw that Moses brought water from the rock but God was not pleased with Him (Num. 20:8-11). God most of the time will not but honour His name on the account of what He wants to do in the lives of His people but he will never spare men who deceitfully disobey Him while serving His people.

Do not be carried away by the physical evidence of blessing around you and men's applause; many will preach, perform miracles, cast out demons and will still be rejected by God (Matt 6:22-23). Obedience to God comes first in whatever you do for Him.

+ Are you working and walking in obedience to God?

The achievement of a man will amount to nothing if he fails to build lives. You have not achieved until you have build lives. No matter how great you are, the fact remains that you will grow old and leave various platforms and positions in life. You will be at the mercy of those lives you build.

Jesus said: The truth is, when you were young, you were able to do as you liked and go wherever you wanted to. But when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and others will direct you and take you where you don't want to go." (John.21.18 NLT). Build and empower your children (biological, academic, spiritual, career etc.) These determine your fate when you are old and after your death.

The blessing of God in your life is not expected to end with you but to flow into the lives of men that come in contact with you. It takes great sacrifice to build lives but it is the most lucrative and honourable assignments.

Lord! Make me resourceful in blessing and building lives in Jesus name. Amen!!!

As we proceed in destiny there will be several obstacles to hinder us from making progress. Life has proven the fact that victory over an issue in life ushers a man into another.

If you have experienced six troubles the seventh and eighth are waiting, but God who had delivered you from the ones you've overcome will deliver you from the present one and the one to come. As you are moving from troubles to troubles, you are equally moving from victory to victory; this also ushers you from glory to glory. When trouble comes do not forget that God is committed to you and will deliver you through your lifetime.

Focus: Who is an Unbeliever?

Unbelievers are those who disbelieve the existence of God and live contrary to His word. They know the will of God and do otherwise!!!!

What makes a man an unbeliever is an unbelief. Unbelief does not manifest predominantly in words alone but also in action. Jesus referred to the words of Prophet Isaiah describing hypocrites: "These people honour me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me." (Matt.15.8 NIV). One of those things common with unbelievers is that their hearts are far from God.

You can be a Pastor, General Overseer or leader in the church and still be an unbeliever. Unbelievers don't believe in the will of God but place much priority on using common sense. They don't believe in the second coming of Christ. They make light of the fact that the wages of sin death (Rom 6:23) and that the wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.

There is no doubt about the fact that a man exhibits unbelief if he continues to live in sin despite knowing God is not pleased with it. Believing in God's word and living accordingly is what makes you a believer.

+ Are you a believer?

Lord! Make me an example of a believer in all aspects of life in Jesus name. Amen!!!

The word of God precedes every issue that happens in the affairs of men. What has happened, what is happening and that which is to come is subjected to the word of God. The word of God has gone ahead of every situation of your life. Therefore, the word of the Lord is not alien to various issues in your life.

In the scripture, we see Christ Jesus on many occasions fulfilling prophecy just to establish the purpose of God. What happened to the likes of Joseph, David, Abraham and Jacob revealed the efficiency of God's word. The happenings in your life are following a spiritual trend. You are a product of prophecy.

Therefore, cooperate with God by yielding yourself to His word to bring about the fulfilment of His purpose in your life.

Focus: God the Master Planner

While we are making our plans, other plans were made for us by God who created everything. Real happiness, joy and fulfilment happen each time we accept the plans of God for our lives!!!

Life is what happens while we are planning and thinking about other things. God allows some situations in the lives of men to make things beautiful in their time. When the Israelites requested for a King; God quickly arranged how Saul will come in contact with Samuel in a bid to anoint him as King. In the arrangement, Saul in his heart set out to look for the lost Ass of his Father but God was bringing Him to Samuel.

The same scenario happened to Joseph. In his heart, he was going to check on his brothers but in God's heart, he was going to Egypt to fulfil his dreams. Everything that is happening to you is for a purpose and your good. Do not reject the plans of God for your life because your fulfilment in destiny depends on it. In every decision you make in life; you must seek to know the plans of God for you and align your life accordingly. The life of a man is better when his plans align with God's plan for his life.

Lord! Let every situation of my life work out your plans and purpose for me in Jesus name. Amen!!!

The nature of your heart is an important factor that determines if you truly belong to God. The heart of every regenerated man by new birth in Christ Jesus is characterized by love and only love. God, Himself is love. Where there is bitterness, desire for vengeance, hatred, unforgiveness and pride; the presence of God is missing.

Jesus, after all they did to Him, could only say "Father, forgive them . . ." This very act depicts the fact that there is no evil but only love in Him. Until your heart is configured in this manner you have no place in Christ. The teachings of the Lord makes it clear to us that we should pray, feed and do good to our enemies.

We should not pay evil for evil but overcome evil with good. We can only claim to belong to Him if and only if we obey his teachings and resemble him in His attributes!

Not every man who sets out on time in the journey of destiny gets to their destination on time ahead of those who started late. In our passage, Ahab embarked on the journey to Jezreel on a Chariot and Elijah was travelling on his foot but the hands of the Lord came upon Him and he outran Ahab travelling on Chariot.

It doesn't matter if, in the journey of destiny, life does not provide for you chariot like many others who appeared to have overtaken you; the most important victuals for your journey in destiny is the hands of the Lord. Many people are doing all they could even if it means sinning against God to achieve something for themselves. These men may appear to be ahead but in the actual sense, they are travelling on sinking sand.

As you proceed in destiny, pursue the vision of the Lord in all your endeavours; walking on the pathway of righteousness. Ensure that you are not out of God's favour and mercy in all your pursuits. This is the only way, God can be involved in the affairs of your life and make things beautiful at their own time.

+ Is the hands of the Lord upon you?

Lord! Let your hands continue to rest upon me as I proceed in destiny, grant me divine speed in every affair of my life in Jesus name. Amen!!!

Jesus came to the fig tree expecting that it should be productive but found nothing. The Lord declared that "Let no one eat fruit from you ever again." In like manner, the Lord is expecting us to be productive in every area of life. It is not an accident that you are alive, healthy, has your needs met and well placed in the domain of your placement. The essence of the works of God in your life is to ensure your productivity.

The Lord will be coming to us on various occasions of life with great expectation that we should be productive. It will be a great disappointment if His expectations are not met at the required time. The case of the fig tree serves as an example to us. A man is reduced to nothing if no man will ever eat fruit from him. Hence, we must be careful and cooperate with God to be productive.

Sincerity is an important virtue that brings God to the aid of a man. At the wedding at Cana in Galilee; they were sincere about the fact that the wine was no longer available. This prompted the Lord to intervene on their behalf.

When Naomi came back from the land of Moab she did not present herself like someone who made It from abroad; she was sincere and acknowledged the fact that it is not right to be called Naomi but Mara because she lost everything. Her sincerity brought her life back to shape.

The problem King Saul had, began when he failed to acknowledge his sins but wanted to appear honourable despite disobeying God before men. The devil used his insincerity as an opportunity to strip Him of his mandate. Similarly, the devil also used the insincerity of Gehazi to bring leprosy to his entire generation. The Lord detests a man who is not sincere. Irrespective of the way you choose to live the fact remains that you can't deceive God or deny the truth you know about who you are.

+ Are you Sincere?

Lord! I will not be a hypocrite, I receive the grace to be sincere and live righteously in Jesus name. Amen!!!

A man derails from the perfect plan of God for his life at every point he chooses to do contrary to the will of God to walk out of His pattern for his life. Every man will surely come to a critical junction which will serve as a turning point where he will decide what his fate will be in destiny.

The manner Jacob spoke about Reuben in the text above indicates that he started very well until he came to a point where he missed it. The only thing he was able to get is that he will not excel. Joseph equally came to this junction but he chose to focus on doing the will of God and he preserved his mandate.

Your actions today determine what your fate will be tomorrow be it in academics, marriage, career, ministry and other aspects of life. When you take a critical look at the life of people like Adam, Cain, Saul, Gehazi, Esau etc. you will discover that there is no other way to miss it in destiny than to disobey the word of God.

Lord! My destiny will not fail, I receive the grace to live my life according to your precepts in Jesus name. Amen!!!

There is no man without a limitation. Every man who made it in life made it despite their limitations!!!

In the bible verse above, the preacher made it clear that there are people who are not swift but won the race of life. Some men appear not to have understanding but are rich. Unskillful men have found favour in this life to be great men of all time.

The limitations in your life are just like the type common to all men. Everyone who made it in every facet of life made it despite all limitations. Don't allow your limitations to hinder you to be who God wants you to be. Believe in yourself and fulfil your dreams and mandate above all limitations.

WORD FOR TODAY
No matter how fast a man can run he cannot outrun God nor become what is not in his plans for him. Those who believe in God will always wait for Him and will never act hastily!!!

The best a man can be is for him to be who God wants him to be and in His time. Nothing in this life is a must except that which is the will of God. The sure foundation laid is that God has a calendar for everything on earth and that He makes things beautiful in its time (Eccl 3). Hence, you must understand that you are not building except that which the Lord builds on your behalf (Ps 127:1-2).

All men who failed in destiny have something in common; they disbelieve God and act hastily. This can be seen in the lives of King Saul, Gehazi, Achan etc. Allow the will of God to take its course in your life and you will never live in disappointment. What justifies the fact that you believe God is that you allow Him to have His way in every issue of life. Again acting hastily is a sign of walking against God's will.
It is a fact that those who know God's name will trust in Him, for the LORD, have never forsaken those who seek Him. (Ps/9:10).

+ Do you believe in God?

Lord! Help me to wait patiently upon you until you work out your good pleasure in my life in Jesus Name. Amen!!!

Focus: The Act of Desperation

WORD FOR TODAY
When a man becomes desperate he is likely to do the unthinkable and the abominable to achieve his aim. The will of God ushers a man into rest and a life devoid of fear and desperation!!!

"There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love."

Where there is desperation God is likely not to be present. The only time desperation is required is when we have an intense desire to know God. One of those things you watch at every critical junction of life is desperation. You know something is not the will of God when desperation set it.

What destroyed the likes of Gehazi, Achan is desperation. Desperate people are not patient enough to enter into God's plan for their lives because they will always compromise every moral and spiritual standard to achieve their desire.

The children of God finds rest in God and enter into His plan and purpose for their lives. Joseph entered into God's plan for him without desperation. David spared King Saul despite Saul's desperation to eliminate him in a bid to prevent him from becoming king, but David entered into God's plan for his life at the appointed time. Don't be desperate about anything but patiently wait upon the Lord to work out His good pleasure at the appointed time.

+ In what areas of life are you exhibiting desperation?

Focus: A Wise Request

WORD FOR TODAY
You have not prayed until your prayers support the purpose of God on earth. A wise request is identified when such meets the need of God on earth!!!!

The primary desire of God is that His will be done on earth as it is in heaven. After the death of King David, Solomon his son succeeded him as King. God desired that Solomon should rule his people righteously and with wisdom. Hence, Solomon prayed based on the desire of God and his request was granted.

When the prayer of a man is self-centred, such will neither bless lives nor meet the needs of God. No prayer is complete until it is tailored towards the will of God as it is in heaven. Your request before God will not be effective until God's will come first in your thinking. Hence, it is not about praying but praying according to God's will.

Lord! Help me to always pray to establish your will on earth as it is in heaven in Jesus Name. Amen!!!

Your faith in God is at first to make you a good person in your family, then to your neighbours before the outside world. When you are good at home you will surely be good to the outside world. Do not fail in your primary responsibility at home even as you bless your world with your existence!!!

Prosperity is an exclusive part of God's plan for all mankind. Every man will not but experience this good phase of life everything being equal. When the Lord by the virtue of His mercy brings you into the era of abundance and prosperity; be mindful of who you used to be and God the giver of grace. In the course of your enjoyment don't forget the fact that your best is yet to come and do not look down on those who are yet to enjoy the measure of Grace made available for you.

Also, you must not forget that nothing on earth lasts forever and that the perils associated with success and prosperity are much more than when you are still trusting God for them. In speech, appearance and in every action be a perfect example of a life characterized by humility and righteousness.

There is a limit to what a man can do in every situation of life. God in His mercy will always use every situation of life to prove Himself as God. Hence, in every situation of life don't try to help God to prove Himself but help yourself to remain calm and watch God prove himself as God.

Whenever we allow God to prove Himself, He takes all Glory and all the earth will exalt Him as God. As you are believing God to help you in every area of your life, you have to be still and be mindful of the fact that God is self-sufficient and there is no limit to what He can do. In every spiritual battle, the only relevant activity of a man is just one; obedience to doing what God tells you to do.

Irrespective of what your experience had been in the journey of destiny God will be exalted concerning your case among the nations and on the earth!

Lord! Do for me what no man can do; be exalted among the nations and in the earth in Jesus name. Amen!!!

No matter how wonderful you appear to be and the level of influence and greatness you exhibited so far in life; you must be ever mindful of the fact that there is someone better than you. It is only the grace of God that is special in the life of a man!!!

The greatest mistake a man can make in his destiny walk is for him to think of himself more highly than he ought to. It is God who crowns men with honour and glory. When it appears as if your life is beautiful, it is God at work. While Vashti was Queen she forgot that she wasn't the best but a woman who received Grace.

She refused to honour the invitation of the King. She forgot that she was a Queen because the King chooses her. Hence, a replacement was sought. Don't take the grace of God in your life for granted as a wife/husband, Father/Mother, Boss, Pastor, Overseer, Principal or leader in any capacity. There are people better than you. Be mindful of the fact that God did not create any man who is so special that cannot be replaced.

As you increase, continue to humble yourself. There will always be an Esther prepared to take your place if you take the grace of God in your life for granted!!!

+ In what way are you taking the grace of God for granted?

Lord! I receive the grace to humble myself always and never take grace made available to me for granted in Jesus name. Amen!!!

The only path recommended for every child of God to walk if they must avoid sin and please Him is the path of righteousness. The path of righteousness is any path a man is directed to walk, in accordance with God's Word for him at a point in time. You will do the unthinkable when you fail to walk on the path God directed you to walk.

Hence, God in a bid to protect the honour of His name will always lead men on the path of righteousness. You cannot claim that it is God leading you to do evil, betray men and engage in acts of unrighteousness. You must be deliberate in your decision to follow God by walking and working according to His word.

+ Are you walking on the path of righteousness?

When the Glory of the Lord comes over a man's life, it cannot be hidden, it will surely express itself to the world. There is no need for you to announce what the Lord is set to do or doing in your life. It is not everything about your life and destiny that you share with people, this is because we are living in an evil world.

This wisdom is an ancient one as we can see in the life of Saul. He only gave his uncle the information he needed and nothing else. This is how we should live so as to come to the peak of God's plan for our lives. Several destinies have been aborted because the people in question placed themselves to lime light before maturity.

Some people are so eaten up by the social media that you can make an account of the progress of their lives. Our Lord Jesus was rebuked when He started teaching at age 12. We heard nothing about Him until the fullness of time that His ministry on earth took off. If you want to grow, you must accept to grow in obscurity until your manifestation.

Lord! My destiny will not fail, you will perfect that which concerns me in Jesus name. Amen!!!

When a man is healthy every other issue in his life is minor. The graciousness of God in the lives of men makes being healthy normal. It is an act of God's mercy if you enjoy good health. Men by nature will only think about progress and material possession of life when they are healthy. It is only a man without pressing health issues that envy others or become dejected because of the blessing not given to him by God.

When the health of a man fails he lost interest in his ambition, quest for riches and ultimately desire sound health. When you are healthy God has done much for you. What he has done for you money cannot buy. Hence, you are highly indebted to Him and you need to always make yourself available to worship Him while you live and have the strength to serve.

It is not enough that there are several promises of God concerning your life, if they must come to pass you need courage. Many things in life are already in their place to discourage you as you proceed on the path of destiny, Never allow any situation of life to strip off your courage.

The Lord told Joshua 3 consecutive times that He should be courageous. This is an important instruction for any man facing the battle of life. We are in the world of power, therefore, in the face of various life's uncertainties, challenges and troubles; keep your faith alive in God and be courageous(1Sam 30:6).

We are living in a world that seems as if everything is modelled after ungodliness. There is no doubt in the fact that several ungodly men seem to be flourishing in various aspects of life. However, the fact remains that the judgement of God awaits every ungodly man.

Irrespective of who you are, be it a Pastor, Worker in the household of God, Evangelist, An Overseer, the Lord sees you as ungodly if you live contrary to His will by walking in the counsel of the ungodly and ways of sinners. All men desire to have a blissful experience with the Lord hereafter. Whatever the case may be with you; be reminded that the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous!!!

Many men on earth strive to make good history in their lifetime. No matter how wonderful the history we make may appear to be it will be surpassed, forgotten and become just a mere reference.

After every good thing we think we have done, nobody will care about it. Don't spend your life on things that only go into memory lane without a significant impact on the lives of men. No one is talking about that man who has 20 houses, 4 wives and 50 cars in 1970 or the man who spent 100 million on his daughter's wedding last year.

Do not labour for vanities. Be mindful of the fact that eternity awaits you. Serve the Lord with your life while you can at every slightest opportunity.

+ Where will you spend your Eternity?

Lord! I receive the grace to prepare adequately for my eternal home in Jesus name. Amen!!!

No matter the situation around us; our God is the rightful owner of all times. He is the God of both the good and the bad times. He remains the only sure Hope at every point in time. He is not ignorant of all your plights as well as the cares and worries of life eating you up now and then.

At certain times situations of life can bring about weeping but we must know that it is allowed for a purpose. At a time you may fall into various aspects of life with no one to lift you. Your dry bone will surely rise again at the command of the Lord. There are times in the life of a man when the Lord will give the enemies room to perform their enterprise. In a time when there is no one to comfort you; the everlasting king of glory will stop the evil of enemies and comfort you on every side.

We must always know that we cannot exempt God from the affairs of our lives. He is the rightful owner of all times and can never be late. Make Him your Rock and fortress and you will get to know that He is the Almighty.

We must understand that we are to serve God the more as we proceed in destiny. The breaking of each day gives us the opportunity to prepare to meet the Lord because as the days go by we are getting closer to the end of our journey on earth than ever. It is time to be more faithful, righteous and holy. Concentrate your life for God to fulfil His purpose as long as you live in the land of the living.

Time is the unit of life and the most important gift of God to man. Everything in life and the existence of a man is defined by time. A waste of time is a waste of life and opportunities. Life does not give a man an immeasurable time of operation but what we have is a phase in time in all affairs of life.

No matter how wonderful a moment appears to be in a business, relationship, government, tenure, post, Career etc it will surely pass away. Jesus said: I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work. (John 9:4).

As we proceed in destiny we advance towards the grave; the people we use to see will not be available. The support we use to enjoy may not be there. The influence we used to have will no longer be effective. It is a total act of deception for a man to think that things will continue the way it is. Hence, do with all your might whatever good things according to the will of God you know how to do before the nightshade falls.
