WORD FOR TODAY
The fact that we see people most especially our loved ones dying at a point in time signifies that we do not truly belong here. We are but a stranger here, heaven is our home!!!

Life is given to prepare us for eternity. We are created to fulfil God's purpose. Hence, every man should be ready to go after the purpose is filled. Do not be too attached to the earth because you don't belong here. The fact that God is your creator, Heaven is your Home!

Earth is a desert drear. When danger and sorrow stand round you on every hand and the tempest rage, wild wintry blast; do not forget that soon they shall be over, because short is your pilgrimage. You shall reach home at last, if you live to please God and do His will; Heaven is your fatherland, Heaven is your home.

There at our Saviour's side, we shall be glorified, we shall rest together with those who had gone before us. Therefore, we need not murmur; whatever our earthly lot may be. Let us travel on with patience having the assurance that we shall surely stand at the Lord's right hand: Heaven is our fatherland, Heaven is our home.

Every man created by God will not but come to a point in fest iny where he will have to face issues peculiar to his destiny all alone to seek redress or improvement to his life. The nature of this life demands that we seek to go an extra mile if we must achieve our desire under God.

Our Lord in this passage is laying an example to us in this present age that when it comes to the issue that has to deal with the fulfilment of one's mandate in all aspects of life; one must go a little farther from others and subject one's effort to the will of God.

A man who keeps doing the same thing the same way will continue to have the same experience. It is required that you go a little farther in your prayer life, devotional life, consecration, in the manner you handle your business, academics, ministry, career, relationship and marriage.

There is nothing you are or achieve that is not by God's mercy. Whenever a man forgets or fails to acknowledge the mercy of God in his life and attribute his achievements to his strength, effort or intellect; he becomes proud. God will never walk nor work with the proud and scornful. Hence, such will not be usable for His Glory.

Whatever you merited you will likely claim; therefore, God most of the time does not use men with merit but vessels of mercy because He will never share His Glory with any man. The likes of Gideon, Moses, Saul, Paul were vessels of mercy because they were used to proclaim God's Glory when no man gave them the chance. God must have mercy on you if you must bear His Glory.

+ What are your credentials? Are you a vessel of His mercy?

Lord! I am nothing without you, do not hesitate to show me mercy in the journey of destiny in Jesus name. Amen!!!

The Lord in His graciousness brought us this far on the pathway of destiny. It isn't because of our righteousness, holiness, good deeds and uniqueness but just because it pleases God to keep us for the fulfilment of His purpose.

Nevertheless, things will not continue to be the way they use to be. A man who embarks on a journey will surely return home someday. It is a pity that we will not but leave this earth to pass on to eternity. In the midst of progress, Joy, happiness and various life's achievements don't forget the fact that you have not come to stay on earth. You must always apply your heart to wisdom as you live on.

Thank God for your journey so far on earth. The Question coming to you at this very point in time is: How long will your journey be? And when will you return? Even though you have no answer to the above questions the fact remains that you have a set time known to God. Therefore, as you advance in age, live with great expectation and understanding of your end in view. Serve the Lord now that you have the grace to do so; for the night is coming when no one can work.

Most times those who are passing through evil times are not doing so because they are sinners or evil people but due to a phase-in time in their lifetime.

Whatever your lot may be at a point in time; know that such is life. You must learn to face life the way it faces you even as you travel on in life with patience trusting only in the Lord. Compare not yourself with anyone because our challenges and experiences differ. No matter how good life may appear to be with you at any point in time, be mindful of evil days. However, you must acknowledge God and do His will as you face life and its challenges.

The message that will have a real impact on the life of men is the one that goes beyond the letters. The words of the Lord through the life of a man will be more or less a fable when it lacks the evidence of real-life experience.

How can you tell someone to put his trust in God when you have no testimony of trusting God. How can a man advise other men on how not to compromise their faith when he has not overcome various temptations at every critical junction of the decision to stand for God.

Your progress and growth in the Lord depend absolutely on how much you have given yourself to God's will at every point of decision making. It takes a real-life testimony to defeat the devil either in your own life or the life of another man. In 1 Sam 17:36; David said, I killed lion and wolf, this Goliath will also be like them.

A man that doesn't know God beyond the written pages of the scripture is a potential prey in the hand of the devil. No matter what you feel; God is real. His words will be effective in you only when it becomes life. Submit yourself to Him and allow Him to shape your life into His intended purpose. Don't run away from His dealings in your life.

The Lord is so gracious enough to provide all you need to assist you to fulfil your purpose on earth.

Your purpose in life defines your role and responsibility. Your attitude towards your responsibility determines your productivity. As you so much desire not to be running your business at a loss so also God will never want your life to be a wasted investment. Your existence will only be relevant to God if and only if your life is productive to Him.

The Lord will have every reason to keep you alive, bless you and shield you from all harm if you make your life a peculiar asset of productivity in His hand.

Men will not but offend, betray and harm you just like the way you have done and can also do to others whenever the Holy Spirit is not given an expression. In our relationship with men, we must not be ignorant of the fact that we are not in a perfect world filled with perfect people.

We are expected under God to give men another opportunity to offend us and forgive them over and over again just as God in His mercy forgive us our sins over and over again. True love demands that you give men another chance. The man who strikes your cheeks today may decorate it tomorrow. However, we must never forget the man (sinful nature) in every man as we relate with them in absolute carefulness.

Fingers they say are not equal. God deals with every man He created according to a certain measure of grace. In every aspect of life where your axe appears to be dull and unsharpened, you need more strength and the wisdom of God to be successful. What we see in life is that there is no man who is powerful in all aspects of life.

Hence, you must understand and have good knowledge of your strength and weakness in every aspect of life. Irrespective of the shortcomings in your life, do not make them cut you short. Seek for the wisdom of God about it and put more effort. Most men who became great were those who overcame their weaknesses.

Life is in two phases: the ordinary and the extraordinary, the physical and the spiritual. Thank God for civilization and technological innovations; which has proven to solve several issues in various fields of human endeavour. Despite the feat and explanation technology gave to different issues of life the fact remains that the spiritual controls the physical. There is a spiritual side to every problem in life.

God was impressed with Job's life and used his life to prove a point to the devil; within 24 hours things fall apart for him. When David counted people and God decided to punish him for it, several Israelites died. If people will explain these situations, they will call it disaster or calamity; whereas it is a spiritual case.

The battle you have not won spiritually you can never win physically. In life, we have seen on many occasions that God remains the only recommendation after all human and technological effort fails. Acknowledging God in all your ways is fundamental to having peace and victory in the battle of life. You must be strong in the Lord and put your trust in him. Pray always and about everything!!!

Are you strong in the Lord?

Lord! Give me victory over the battle of life; come and do for me what no man can do in Jesus name. Amen!!!

Focus: Free from Condemnation

WORD FOR TODAY
Each time a man comes to the acknowledgement of his sins and repent from them; he has succeeded in overcoming any form of condemnation. The only antidote against the grip of sin is total repentance through Christ Jesus!!!

Irrespective of how you have lived so far in life, the Lord is not willing to condemn you if you will make yourself available to do His will. He is not interested in your past but your future.

It is not the sin that you have sinned against God that matters but what your reaction will be when a similar occasion that led you into such sin arises in the future. Whatever your history might have been don't be eaten up by it; don't give up on living rightly according to the will of God. A decision to respond to God will always go a long way to reduce the enterprise of the evil one in any domain.

Although God and men may forgive sins; history does not. However, history can be re-written just like the case of Paul initially known as Saul. The Lord is always ready to accept a man who turns to Him to live a new life.

Don't you think you remain condemned if you are still living in Sin?

Lord! Deliver me from every besetting sin in Jesus name. Amen!!!

Irrespective of who you are, you must be mindful of the fact that in a little while people will see you no more. The good and the bad deeds of men will come to an end. Our Lord Jesus made it clear to His disciples that irrespective of who He is to them and what they see him do, in no distance time they will see Him physically no more.

The fact that life is very uncertain should always prompt us to do all we could when we have the opportunity to do it. The things happening around us keep sending us a signal that God promised no one the certainty of tomorrow.

As you go about your normal activities, do things as if that may be your last opportunity. You must always trust God to help to give your best and do what is right at all times. Live your entire life being mindful of the admonition of the Lord: All of us must quickly carry out the tasks assigned to us by the one who sent us, because there is little time left before the night falls and all work comes to an end (John 9:4 NLT)

There is something God wants to achieve with our lives. The fact that our existence was never our idea makes it paramount for us to submit our lives to God. We must be mindful of the fact that the part of our existence used to fulfil the purpose of our creation is our useful life. We failed each time we do not live up to the expectation of God.

The experience people like Gehazi, Samson had at the end of their pilgrimage was a result of their lack of cooperation with what God wants to use their life to achieve. They could not get to the peak of God's plan for their lives. Absolute submission to God is critical to bringing to the perfection of His work in your life as He did in the lives of Abraham, Joseph, Daniel and David!!!

Lord! Continue to your work in my life and bring into the perfection that which concerns me in Jesus name. Amen!!!

You will only be what God wants you to be by His grace alone. All men who appeared to have failed in life, failed because they fell short of God's grace and those who seem to be making it, are operating under the influence of God's grace and mercy. You need the grace of God to live successfully in this life. This singular reason makes God an invariable factor of every human life.

You can only fulfil your promises, make difference, have your prayers answered, take reasonable steps of faith at any level of life by His grace alone. You can only surmount various mountains, become blessed and be a blessing on the pathway of destiny only by His grace.

Your tears will only be wiped away and every sorrow turns to praise and gladness if grace is made available. Hence, be mindful of the fact that you need God for strength in various life's situations and that you will only go forth in His grace alone.

The promises of God for you is meant to come to pass in your lifetime. The life of a man is like a book with several chapters which represents different stages of God's work in his life per time. No matter what happens God will work out His purpose in the lives of His people at the appointed time.

It is good to wait upon the Lord because life becomes beautiful and fulfilling when things fall in their rightful place at God's time. The dreams of Joseph came to pass despite all opposition. The time of King David came despite his ordeal. Every battle against your dreams and glorious emergence for the fulfilment of purpose will last until God's appointed time.

As you proceed in destiny honour God with your life and decision. Acknowledge Him in all your ways and He shall direct your paths to success (Prov.3.6)

After the fall of man in the garden of Eden; the generation of mankind has entered into an everlasting battle; victory over a particular battle of life usher a man into another. Jesus in one of the final instructions to His disciples made it very clear to them that they enjoy his companionship through the Holy Spirit but they will have tribulations!

Whether you are a believer or not, here on earth you will have tribulations. This you must have at the back of your mind as you proceed in destiny; for they will be many. There is no victory without battles. The victory we have over life's battle is what makes life interesting. Hence, as long as we live in Christ Jesus, we will be moving from victory to victory and from Glory to Glory until we lay our crowns at last.

Trust your life to God and cast your burdens upon Him as your fleeting years go by. Be glad in Lord irrespective of what betides because everything in life will come to pass.

Each time a man sets out with the aim to do the will of God, grace will be made available. God will not but release grace to do whatever He asks you to do!!!

Grace will only be made available to those who have something to do with it. The Lord will always wait for a man to take a step of faith in absolute obedience to His word and walking into His precious plan for his life before releasing Grace. The might of Gideon was not known until he responded to God.

Elijah was great because God's word came to him and he has a positive response to it. Moses was an ordinary shepherd until he responded to God's call for his life. The step of obedience he took made him move from an ordinary man to an extraordinary. As he followed God's instructions grace upon grace was released to him.

It takes a simple step of faith in absolute obedience to God to move from ordinary to extraordinary. Do not make an excuse due to various limitations in your life. The grace of God in every facet of life is waiting for your obedience to Him.

Vain glory, selfish ambition, and self-exaltation pervades the working environment perhaps more than any other traits. Some people do not struggle with diligence because they are driven by their own selfish desires to be “successful.” Whatever you attain seeking vain glory will be empty and meaningless.

If you allow your ambitions to drive you, you will be easily tempted to sin in the most grievous ways. You will easily fall into the trap of getting what you want at any price. You can even be tempted to compromise your integrity and honesty as a Christian in order to attain fame, wealth, and power.

For a Christian, success is the faithful fulfillment of God’s will. Jesus’ work was successful because He humbled Himself before His Father and carried out His will with diligence and submission. He did not seek His own glory, but humbled Himself in the service of others. Put aside all worldly striving and ambition and humbly seek God’s glory instead of your own.

Nothing in life is totally bad and good as the case may be at a point in time. God is God because He can use both good and bad situations of life to fulfil His purpose.

The betrayal of Jesus by Judas and His crucifixion looks like evil but it turned out to be for good. Joseph did not see the evil his brother did to him but rather saw the hand of God in all they did to him. Do not be overwhelmed by your experience in life; be optimistic about what God has said concerning you, irrespective of the prevailing situation in your life.

The Lord has been so gracious to us right from the day of our birth and brought us this far in the journey of destiny. Have you ever at any point thought about what would have happened to you if no one cared about you after your birth and just leave you as a day old child to fend for yourself? The fact that you are reading this, signifies that God has sent several men to help you in this life.

There is no doubt in the fact that you have faced both the positive and negative side of life, and you have had both bad and good experiences with men. The bad experience you have is meant to teach you what it feels like to have a bad experience, help people who are having it and ensure that your actions don't make people have it.

When God brings people to help you, pay your bills (rent, school fees, hospital bills, debt), connect you to get a job and greatness, help you in business and career, build you up academically and spiritually; it is also to make you know how it feels to enjoy such grace. God does most of these to prepare us to do likewise. As you enjoy His grace in different dimensions of life, you must always remember the words of the Lord which say: go and do likewise. Be mindful of the fact that the best part of your existence is that part you lived blessing other people.

No ship will not experience the storm of life. You must be sure of God's presence in a ship before you enter it. There are various ships you cannot but enter, these include relationship, courtship, partnership, friendship, fellowship, sponsorship, chairmanship, hardship, apprenticeship etc.

Life is characterized by uncertainties. We cannot tell what to expect going forward in life in the various ship you will find yourself in. The truth about life is that the path you will thread will not be straight but sinusoidal. Joseph at a point in destiny would have given up on his dream when he suddenly became a slave against the word of God for him. The interesting part of his ordeal is that he did not sin against God even when he was tempted and He stood by him to bring His word to pass.

Irrespective of whatever you face in the journey of destiny do not sin against God. Honour Him with your life and decisions. There is no battle or challenges you will no overcome when the Lord stands by you to bring His word to pass.

Irrespective of your experience so far in life the fact remains that God is taking you somewhere. The reason behind every storm raging in your life is as a result of your glorious destiny. You don't need to worry or be afraid of what your future will turn out to be if Jesus is the captain of your ship.

God in His attributes will not stop various storms from ranging; however, you can be sure of a safe landing with Him in your ship. It may look as if He is doing nothing about your case or as though sleeping or does not care whether you are sinking. The main issue is that He is interested in knowing the degree of your trust in Him.

Don't be tempted to go out of the ship or ignore His Lordship in the time of storm. Don't dive into the river of worldliness. Don't be afraid, His plans over your life are still very intact irrespective of what betides you. Trust in the Lord and you will get to your glorious destiny.

One of those things the devil wants to achieve in your life is that you should give up on what God said and there about become unfaithful to Him. As far as God's promises are concerned; the manner he dealt with the people of old establishes the fact that He is faithful. He has never gone back on His word neither will He now; not even when the earth and heaven pass away.

When Joseph dreamt, it looked like a tale but God meant it. At a point, it looked as if it will never come to reality but it happened because the Lord said it. When Sarah was told what God wanted to do in her life she laughed; but like play it came to pass. God instructed Samuel to anoint David and He went back into the wilderness after He was anointed, it was just as if the word of the Lord will not be fulfilled but it did at the end.

The lives of these men proved the faithfulness of God. Even now He remains the same. However, these men on their part were faithful to God and He did not allow His word to fail in their lives. You also must be faithful and cooperate with God to do His good pleasure in your life

Whatever you do which appears hidden will not remain secret forever. Be mindful of the fact that the Lord is not ignorant of your deepest secret and at the appropriate time He will bring it to light. Hence, wisdom demands that you put your hands only in what will favour you and bring glory to God when brought to the limelight.

Moses killed an Egyptian and covered it in the earth thinking that no one knew about it until he was told what he did (Exo 2). King David brilliantly and technically executed Uriah in a bid to clean up the mess of the adultery he committed with Bathsheba but God exposed him and we are reading about his evil act today (2 Sam 12).

Do not take the grace of the Lord in your life for granted; seek to always get it right with God whether in public or the secret. Be mindful of the fact that God does not overlook even the good work done in the secret; so also, covered sin! The life you live in the secret determines if your life will end in shame or Glory!!!

If you have truly repented, you will not only stop sinning but start living God’s way in obedience to His word. That is what will show that you have truly repented.

Repentance, therefore, involves genuine heartfelt sorrow over your sins and sinful habits, confession of such sins with your mouth to God and where necessary, to man. However, repentance is not complete until sin is forsaken and sinful living is replaced by godly living. Repentance comes from the heart but manifests through our actions.

Sometimes, when God release grace on men; they tend to feel special and think of themselves more highly than they ought to. In everything we do, we must not forget that we are dust whom God crowned with honour glory and that God is ready to resist all men who walk in pride.

To walk in pride means to disobey the words of God, claim the honour that belongs to God, disrespect and look down on God's creation. It also means to exhibit unforgiveness, wickedness and unrighteousness. The ordeal of King Nebuchadnezzar makes him know by experience that God deserves all praises and honour and that His works are truth and His ways justice. He concluded that those who walk in pride God can put down. Hence, humble yourself and be in favour of God.

A man who is living in sin, irrespective of who he is, will be regarded as a sinner. Your spirituality remains valid before God if it helps you to overcome sin.

The vital signs of spiritual immaturity are seen in ungodliness, unrighteousness, wickedness, greediness, dishonesty, hatred, marital infidelity, sexual perversion, tax invasion, examination misconducts and malpractices, unforgiveness, fraud, idolatry, rebellion, deceit and other works of the flesh. Spiritual maturity begins when the word of God become the lifestyle of a man and he has submitted himself to God to be helped in bringing everything to obey Christ in his life.

The Lord God almighty uses the various situation of life to bring men to the end of themselves. Sometimes as humans, we brag about the resources at our disposal, our capacity, knowledge and other wonderful things in various aspects of life. However, most of these things fail mostly at critical times just to prove the supremacy of God over all creation and to establish the fact that by strength shall no man prevail.

The Lord is speaking to you once again that you must neither place your life nor the perspective of your destiny in the arm of flesh because they are liable to fail. You must always acknowledge God and allow Him to work out His good pleasure in your life. We know the workings of God by its nature; it surpasses all understanding.

The Lord at this very point in time is admonishing you, that you should not worry about anything. The Lord who created you without any of your input knows what you truly need and what you don't at a point in time. He is not a wicked God; the only issue with Him is that He makes things beautiful at their own time.

Every blessing of God added to your life increases your responsibility which in turn increase your worries. In as much you play your part in every issue of life, there is nothing to worry about. The Lord will meet your needs as at when due.

If there is anything to worry about it is how to seek the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. You have to worry about your besetting sins, secret faults, temptations that pull you down now and then. You have to worry about those lifestyles of yours that place your life in the danger of missing eternity with God.

It is very easy for a man to see what is not good in things and people. Practically, it takes time for people to see what is good in things, people and circumstances that appears not perfect. We must cultivate the habit and trust God to help us to see things with the right frame of mind.

There is no doubt in the fact that life is characterized by both positives and negatives. Don't be too quick to condemn things when they appear not good enough. If there is a need for criticism it should be constructive with adequate recommendation for improvement.

Encourage what is good even when they appear not good enough or not up to your standards. Don't be an agent of destruction to what men are doing or their intentions. Appreciate every effort men in place to achieve something even if it turns out not to be promising!!!

At any point, a man chooses not to allow God to find expression in his life his behaviour will be childish. When Jesus was crucified on the cross at Calvary He did not forget to make known to the entire human race even in His suffering that He truly loved us; He said "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do." (Luke 23:34).

It takes maturity to forgive those who offend you, mature people do not spend their strength to oppress those who appear weaker than them. They don't pay evil with evil but overcome it with good. They are lovers of good things and support righteousness.

Immature people are impatient, wicked, envious, boastful, proud, arrogant, rude, self-seeking, easily angered and keep a record of wrongs. They delight in evil and do not stand in truth (1Cor 13:4-. God is love and He remains the benchmark that determines maturity. The attribute of immature people is not that of God. Anyone living such a life has not known God.

You will come across different calibre of people; your responsibility to them is to think of their honour above yourself. Do not forget there is a measure of God in the life of men. You can't honour God when you fail to honour men. The man you honour, you can't steal from him, disrespect him, speak ill of him and look down on him. If every man will prefer the honour of another the world will be a very beautiful place.
