Focus: Don't Release yourself from God's Yoke

WORD FOR TODAY
Each time you are tempted to release yourself from God's yoke the evil one is set to hinder you from having and enjoying the rest that God offers. Your rest under God in every aspect of life, lies on taking the yoke of the Lord upon you!!!

"Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. (Matthew 11:28-29 NKJV)

There is no man without a yoke. You are either yoked with God or the devil. When a child of God yokes himself with the devil; then, he is unequally yoked. Jesus admonishes us that we should take his yoke upon us and learn from Him if our soul will find rest.

The implication of truly given your life to Jesus, is that you have agreed to take the yoke of the Lord upon you and your life is no longer yours. You cannot give your life and still have it; Jesus takes the wheel of your actions, desire, ambition, aspirations and destination in life.

You will come to a point in the journey of destiny where you will be tempted to release yourself from the yoke of doing the will of God. You must never be given to such advances from the devil else you will sacrifice your peace, rest and the precious plan of God for your life. The likes of Joseph, Daniel and 3 Hebrews were also prone to falling when they were tempted but they stood firm and fulfill God's plan for their lives by not releasing themselves from the yoke of the Lord. You also will only find rest for your soul if placed your neck on the yoke of God's will for your life!!!

Bartimaeus in the journey of destiny came to a point where he really desired a change of life. At the point where he was conscious of the presence of Jesus whom He knew could change his life; he put off and threw aside his coat, jumped up, and came to Jesus. In this manner every man is expected to come to God. No man will achieve something worthwhile and tangible from God without repentance, resistution, sanctification and conformity to God's attribute.

Your experience under God will continue to be identical until you present yourself to God and live for his purpose alone. Therefore, put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. Also, put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth (Col 3:5, . The Lord has perfected that which concerns you and He is ready to do something new in your life, put off every hindrance in your life!

Focus: Your Spouse is your Law

A man loses the exclusive right and authority he has over himself at the moment he/she gets married. Your wife/husband determines how you spend your life, where you go, lodge and the perspective of your journey in destiny!!!

"The husband should give to his wife her conjugal rights (goodwill, kindness, and what is due her as his wife), and likewise the wife to her husband. For the wife does not have [exclusive] authority and control over her own body, but the husband [has his rights]; likewise also the husband does not have [exclusive] authority and control over his body, but the wife [has her rights]. ( 1Corinthians 7:3-4 AMP)

Irrespective of who you are, your spouse have the greatest influence factor in your life. Your spouse is your law. Whatever relationship attached to spouse becomes a human entity in law eg. Father, mother, brother or sister in law. No matter how great the plan of God is for your life, the moment you choose the wrong person as your spouse you have chosen the wrong law for living.

You must be mindful of the fact that whoever you yoke yourself to in marriage becomes a law for you. King Ahab was a good man who did badly because he had a bad woman (Jezebel) as a wife. Naban was a foolish man who would have been destroyed for his foolishness but was protected because he had a wise and a virtuous woman as wife.

Your law (husband or wife) determines if you will serve God, do His will, fulfill your mandate, live in peace and make indelible positive mark in the sound of time. You have to cooperate with the man or woman God has given you; there is a limit to what you can achieve alone. All men who made an attempt to release themselves from the yoke of marriage did so at the expense of their marital fulfillment!!!

A man of great value add values to peoples' life by the virtue of what comes out from him to others. The word of God makes it clear that there is power of both life and death in the tongue of a man. A corrupt man will utter nothing but corruption and a man who is full of grace will bless people with his word.

We have seen men who spoke a word to a turbulent situation and brought calmness. Also, there are men who stirred up trouble in peaceful domain just because of their words. Your words can either build or destroy men. When you need to encourage, console and admonish a man do not hesitate to do that. Be mindful of the word of God which says: "Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers." (Eph 4.29)

The greatest temptation of a man comes when he experiences increase in various aspects of life. Your glory is not preserved until you are free from sin!!!

Someone said you cannot know the real personality of a man until he is highly placed in terms of money at his disposal or the authority he has. There are several men around us who appear to be gentle or easy going simply because the situation of life and the resources at their disposal subjected them to a life of humility thereby bringing them to the end of themselves by force.

This is the reason why the prayers of some men are yet to receive the required answer before God. Because the blessing of God in the life of such will rather kill them and hinder the manifestation of His glory in their lives.

Your life is a product of grace and privilege. You are what you are by God's grace. As you increase in the journey of destiny, allow God to work in you to do His good pleasure. Always remember the person you used to be and the grace of God that brought you up from the miry clay of life.

Focus: When a man is not Humble

A man is on his way down in every aspect of life each time he fails to humble himself. There is no man who exhibits pride that does not lose relevance!!!

Satan was an angel of light until he exhibited pride. This made him to lose his place in God's presence. Each time you exhibit pride you will surely lose your place and your relevance will become a mirage. Queen Vashti could not believe what befell her when she exhibited pride; the aftermath of her action was that she fell from grace to disgrace, from honour to dishonour, from appointment to disappointment.

This treatment awaits all men who fail to remember that they are nothing but for the grace of God. When people are holding you to a very high esteem and everything looks as if you are relevant, don't allow it to get into your head that you are something but learn how to stoop low and acknowledge God the giver of Grace by being humble.

Men will not but always put their force at best to be against you whenever they discover that you are exhibiting pride. All men will be ready to help and support you whenever their perception about you is humility. When a man is not humble he falls short of mercy and favour before both God and man!!!

Focus: Remember who you used to be

WORD FOR TODAY
Remembering who you used to be will always guide your feet and preserve you from falling. The fact that several changes has taken place does not change the fact that it was God who made grace available!!!

Moses reminded the Israelites that they used to be slaves as they were about to enter into the promised land. God wants them to always remember their time of misery to provide a check and balance against excesses in the time of comfort. As you increase in every facet of life don't forget where you are coming from.

A man of God was to preach in a convention, but the General Overseer of the church changed him for another man without prior notice. This was so grievous to him and his wife that they began to contemplate leaving the church. However, when he entered his prayer room; he saw the cloth he used to wear when he was pushing truck as livelihood in the village. This reminded him of the fact that he was a nobody in the first place and that it was the grace of God that made him what he is.

As the Lord will keep blessing you and changing your status; don't forget who you used to be; humble yourself always.

God is the only common factor to all men. There is no level achievement or height you will attain in life that you will not need God. Every man created by God is actually a needy, what differs among men is our needs. I have come to see in practical terms that to whom much is given much is expected. This concept placed all men irrespective of the resource at their disposal on equal level in life and before God.

A man who has $200, 000 will be faced with a need of $1,000,000 so also the man who has $200 will be faced with a need of $1,000. The headache of the man who have more will be more than the one who has little. However, both have ended up having similar ratio.

There is no man who has everything and no man actually have enough except those who find contentment in God. Hence, the beauty of life is to find God in everything. Until you find God your existence will be meaningless!

If God has not blessed you, you are not blessed. There are several men who have influence, connection and wonderful possessions of life but are not fulfilled; some among these people go to the extent of committing suicide when it dawn on them that they can't go on in life despite all they think they have.

Jacob came to a point in destiny where he knew he could not go further unless he is blessed of the Lord. At that point the birthright he unlawfully got from Esau, the wives, livestocks and material possessions he got from Laban household became irrelevant to him. He needed the blessing of God as he prepared to advance into his rest and possess the name of God to himself.

A day is coming when you will meet God and you will need his blessing to enter into your rest. You must ensure that you do not fall short of God's approval and mercy as you advance in the journey of destiny!

King Solomon, one of the wisest man that ever lived, said a good name is better than great riches. Unfortunately, people in various facet of life are careless about their names and sacrifice it for riches on the altar of greed and unrighteousness. There are several men who are like Esau who said "What is birthright to me?", "What is good name to them compared to the temporary unrighteous benefit?"

When you don't have a good name you have no glory? You are more or less like a cancer to any organization? No matter how glorious your life appears to be, you will become an Ichabod when you destroy the good name you have on the altar of selfishness, greed and unrighteousness.

A man who heads a company, business, church, organization and makes it become ruined will never be forgotten. The worst part is that history will never forget him. Wherever you go or find yourself, be mindful of the fact that you have a name. Your recommendation is at stake and your name will be a reference point for an attitude put in place. Protect your name: think before you act; submit to God's will at every point in time!

Irrespective of your experience in life the fact still remains that God knows about what you've been through, what you are passing through and what you will pass through. Therefore, you are not expected to live your life in isolation to God your creator who works everything in your life to fulfill His purpose.

No matter what happens to you in any facet of life, be mindful of the fact that it does not happen without the approval of God and that there is something God wants to achieve with it. Hence, you don't need to run helter skelter in search for solution but to go to God and submit to His counsel over the prevailing issues in your life! If God takes note of the falling of a sparrow, His eyes is watching over you; death can't just take you away and the evil one cannot just take pre-eminence over you; because He cares for you!

Error at any level of life is caused by disobedience to any laid down or established law or principle. Disobedience is fundamental to most problems in life. It is the most important attribute the evil one needs to perform his enterprise in a man's life. Don't bother to offer any sacrifice if you have not obeyed God.

The evil spirit which lures a man into making various mistakes will begin to have the space to thrive each time a man considers taking a path contrary to God's will for him. In our text, we saw Prophet Jonah going away from God's presence in disobedience to His word. We all know the aftermath of His disobedience.

Ships will always be available to take you away from the perfect plan of God. Don't be eaten up by the support around your life despite your disobedience. Don't be ignorant of the fact that we have more people living in disobedience to God's word. Happy are you if you are not always trying to shut down the still small voice speaking to you to turn to the direction of obedience to God.

The best gift of your life is what the Lord has given you. It begins with how you were created. The Lord created you perfectly; in terms of your height, voice, sex, skin colour and body shape. Your uniqueness among God's creation absolutely depends on these attributes.

Another important gift of God for your life is your wife/husband - your covenant life partner(Prov 18:22). The orientation the Lord expects you to have about your partner is that he/she is the best among all other creation irrespective of the qualities or shortcomings in his/her life. God unlike men does not make mistakes; there is no variableness in Him. If He was the one who issued the gift to you; you have gotten the best. Therefore, stop looking for trouble, settle down and enjoy your lot in the land of the living (Eccl 9:9).

Children are also among the special gift of God. They don't come by human effort; some who are highly influential don't have this gift. Irrespective of how they may appear to be; cherish this wonderful gift of God in your life. They are created to fit uniquely into God's purpose. Never settle down for what does not come from God but be industrious to have what He will give you per time.

You cannot approach life than the understanding you have about it. Hence, the way you live depicts what you know about life. However, life is a God given gift for a purpose. This you must know if you must live a purposeful life. Whatever you feel about what life is, the fact still remains that:
✴️Life is single: You will only live once Heb 9:27.
✴️Life is short: No matter how long you have lived each time you look at the past, it will always be like yesterday Job 14:1.
✴️Life is in stages, every man departs the stage at the expiration of his time
✴️Life is a gift
✴️Life is a game: you will only win when you play by the rules. However, you must never gamble with your life.
✴️Life is a race. It is an exclusive race which must be won Heb 12:1.
✴️Life is given to prepare for eternity.

Life will not be meaningful to a man until He finds God and live according to His purpose!

One of the important attribute of God that we must always be mindful of is the that He rewards the deeds of men. He rewards both good and bad deeds. Hence, irrespective of the reason behind your deeds towards men it does not change the fact that you will reap whatever you sow!

His verdict for those who are wicked for any reason is that they will know no peace; not even in the atmosphere of seeking vengeance because God says "vengeance is Mine!" Do not be deceived; God cannot be mocked! He will give unto every man according to his deeds.

Do not take the grace of God for granted when it seems as if you are getting away with evil deeds: it is not the case that you are smart but God is making an allowance for repentance to save you from disgrace and shame. Also, do not be discourage when it seems as if your righteous deeds yields no rewards; you will be rewarded in due season at God's beautiful time!

He has tested us many times and He knows what we are capable of doing and what He can place in our hands. There is a need for every one of us to sit down to evaluate our lives to check if God can really count on us; if He sees us as faithful and committed to His will.

Every man at the end of this life needs God's testimony before he can enter his rest in eternity. To some on that day He will say: "I never knew you: depart from me, you that work iniquity (Matt 7.23 KJV) and to others He will say: "Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. In the beginning, nothing was done to the situation of the earth until there was light. In like manner, for your ministry, marriage, career, academics, business and other aspect to work according to the plan and purpose of God darkness must be under subjection.

For darkness to be under subjection you must at every point in time arise and shine as light to provide an allowance for the manifestation of God's glory. God will not manifest His glory until we play our part to shine as light in every domain of life.

Shining as light means walking in righteousness, holiness and purity to manifest the attribute of God. In overcoming the works of darkness shining as light precedes prayer and fasting. When your ways are right with God that is the only time you are fit for spiritual battle.

The Lord will never commit anything serious into your hands when you are not diligently committed to the assignment He placed in your care. The man who recommended David to king Saul, when he was being tormented by evil spirit, must have seen him skillfully playing an instrument among ordinary men. He was recommended because he did it well.

Every work well done will definitely increase your capacity and your inspiration. More grace will also be made available to you. Try as much as possible to give your best in everything the Lord has placed in your hands. Develop yourself even as you strive for excellence in every aspect of your placement in life!

Bringing this to our knowledge at this time is not to make us sad but to remind us how fleeting our days is in the land of the living. Jesus said: "Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head."

He also emphases the urgency of doing the work of the father when there is still opportunity. A man will be deceiving himself thinking he will forever be with his children, live in his house, occupy the position of authority, be in charge of what he has labour for years. They knew by experience what God can do and the reality of His power and existence. It is possible there are some of them who were following because their elders motivated them but now before their very eyes they saw the wonders of God.

If you are the one fighting your battle, total victory is not assured because you are subjected to various limitations as human. The fact that most of the battle that confront us is beyond us makes it very important for us to submit to God and allow Him to help us in confronting various battles of life. Whenever God fights your battles do not forget to remain humble in adoration of who He is and be mindful of the fact that the God who is loving can as well be a consuming fire!!!

One of those things the devil wants to achieve in your life is that you should not give up on what God said and there about become unfaithful to Him. As far as God's promises is concerned; the manner he dealt with the people of old establishes the fact that He is faithful. He has never gone back on His word neither will He now; not even when the earth and heaven pass away.

When Joseph dreamt, it looked like a tale but God meant it. At a point, it looked as if it will never come to reality but it happened because the Lord said it. When Sarah was told what God wanted to do in her life she laughed; but like play it came to pass. God instructed Samuel to anoint David and He went back into the wilderness after He was anointed, it is just as if the word of the Lord will not be fulfilled but it did at the end.

The lives of these men proved the faithfulness of God. Even now He remains the same. However, these men on their own part were faithful to God and He did not allow His word to fail in their lives. You also must be faithful and cooperate with God to do His good pleasure in your life

The plan of God for all believers is that we should live a crucified life. Majority of the problems we have in life be it in our marriages, ministry, business, career, academics and all aspect of life were born out of our inability to live a crucified life. The life of all men who fail to allow Christ to live His life in them will be characterized by several troubles.

Apostle Paul came to point where he said: "I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me." (Gal 2:20). Each time we live our own life by ourselves at best we manifest the works of the flesh which are primary source of all life's troubles.

You do not belong to God because of your name, language, church, title, and the spiritual activities you engage in; but Christ through the Holy Spirit finds expression in your life. Until you bear the mark of Christ by living a crucified life you will remain a weakling in the face of sin, satan and worldliness.

Whatever you do which appears hidden will not remain secret forever. Be mindful of the fact that the Lord is not ignorant of your deepest secret and at the appropriate time He will bring it to light. Hence, wisdom demands that you put your hands only in what will favour you and bring glory to God when brought to lime light.

Moses killed an Egyptian and covered it in the earth thinking that no one knew about it until he was told what he did (Exo 2). King David brilliantly and technically executed Uriah in a bid to clean up the mess of the adultery he committed with Bathsheba but God exposed him and we are reading about his evil act today (2 Sam 12).

Do not take the grace of the Lord in your life for granted; seek to always get it right with God whether in public or in the secret. Be mindful of the fact that God does not overlook even the good work done in the secret; so also, covered sin! The life you live in the secret determines if your life will end in shame or in Glory!!!

When the life of a man is characterized by adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, unforgiveness there is no doubt in the fact that the sinful nature commands his destiny. You cannot obey God and manifest these attributes.

When Jesus through the Holy Spirit commands your destiny your life will be characterized by love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. He will influence you to do the will of God and your life will be characterized by the attributes of Christ Jesus!

In everything you do, you must be mindful of this very fact: "if you must live you must not live for yourself" you must not pursue your own evil desire but the will of God. Whatever you do you must seek to see that God alone is glorified; this is true worship.

The world will be a very beautiful place if all men will only pursue one goal which is to see that the will of God is established in every domain of life. A worship that is acceptable is that which is devoid of the works of the flesh. Denying yourself and taking up your cross on daily basis is the ultimate step to becoming free to serve God.

A prodigal son is identified when:

✳️ A man lives like an unbeliever after several investments of God in his life.

By the virtue of the work of the cross; there is forgiveness for every man who turns to God. Each time a man sins; he is required to be just by admitting the fact that he sinned and turning to God for the forgiveness of life.

The first step to finding forgiveness of your sins is to admit that you have sinned and that you are a weak man who really needs help with all sincerity. After which you are required to change your direction; i.e. coming to the Lord for the remission of your sins.

Prodigal son after wasting the resources he collected from his father still found mercy from Him when he turns back to Him. Don't be ever tempted to go away from the will of God because the words of the evil one which whisper into your heart that: "With what you just did God can never forgive" That is a lie from the evil one. In every situation do not go away from the Lord remember the word of the Psalmist which says: The LORD has chastened me severely, But He has not given me over to death. (Ps.118:18 NKJV).

Each time the Lord exalts a man He anoints him above his companions. The standard measure the Lord uses to exalt his people is righteousness. He didn't bring down the standard for His begotten neither will He for any man He created. Jesus met this requirement to be the author of our salvation.

For any man who so desires to be great under God, righteousness is a must. You will be deceiving yourself if you continue to live unrighteously and still expect God to lift you up. Your victory, achievements and attainment is a fluke if it does not take its source from righteousness. You will only have sense of fulfillment when your achievements is devoid of guilty conscience.

Any where righteousness is not a prequisite for exaltation such domain will be characterized by reproach. As a child of God, your first achievement if you must be great under God in whatever you do and wherever you find yourself is righteousness. You will only achieve righteousness when you allow God to find expression in your life.
