Focus: An Enemy Has Done This

WORD FOR TODAY
Each time a man sleeps, he gives the enemy an opportunity to perform his enterprise. Identifying what God has done is critical to overcoming what the enemy has done!!!

Each time you observe that the pattern of happenings in your life is contrary to what God has said and His plan for your life know that the enterprise of the evil one has come to reality. You must not be ignorant of the fact that the devil, the greatest enemy of your soul like a roaring lion is going to and fro of life seeking for whom to devour.

Therefore, the evil one will be seeking for the lethal moment in your spiritual life, marriage, academics, career, business, ministry and other aspect of life to perform his enterprise in your life. The trend and manner the devil and his agent perform their enterprise shows that they are coward because they need men to sleep to do their biddings and their ultimate strategy is deception.

Each time you are becoming lethal in the aforementioned aspect of life know that the evil one is around the corner. Whenever you come to a point of revelation of what the evil one has done sit-up and engage the Lord of harvest to put an end to the enterprise of the evil one!

Focus: The Heritage of God's Servant

Every man who represents God at any level of life enjoy's special inheritance of divine protection from evil weapons and human condemnation. Any man who plans evil against the people of God is bound to fail!!!

The primary assignment of the devil and his agents is to ensure the downfall of the people of God. However, God in His infinite mercy from ages has chosen to defend His people. King Saul tried all he could to put an end to David but all his effort turned out to be useless and fruitless.

The brother of Joseph tried all they could to put an end to his dreams. The 3 Hebrews were thrown into fiery furnace and Daniel into the Lion's den; all effort put in place to stop these men proved abortive because they were God's anointed. When God anoints a man wisdom demands that you support him; to support him is to be on the Lord's side.

When dealing with God's anointed have the following at heart:
✳️No weapon formed against them shall prosper.
✳️Every word against them remains condemed.
✳️Their righteousness is not in what you think about them but of the Lord.

Even when it appears as if the evil enterprise is gaining ground in their lives it will surely fail!

Focus: Arrow in the Hand of A Mighty Man

Children are God's inheritance given to men to be an effective force in the battle of life. The legacy of both God and man can only be projected into the future through arrows (Children) that are trimmed, sharpened and kept in the quiver for Godly use!!!

The world is beautiful today because there are children who are making prophecy of greatness in the days to come. We don't worry much about wonderful men who are leaving various stages of life because there are children who are getting set to take over from them.

The word of God likened Children as arrows; a weapon of war. There is a limit to what a mighty man can do if he has no weapon to fight in the battle front. The height a mighty man cannot reach his arrow can and the battle he cannot win by his hands his arrow can help him. Nevertheless, he has the responsibility to prepare and shoot the arrow at appropriate time and in the right target.

When the Lord promised to make Abraham a mighty nation He gave him a child. The child given to you is God's inheritance meant to help you win various battles of life and make you great. Therefore, they must be trained spiritually, academically, morally, socially and maritally. Your arrow will not depart from the direction you send it (Prov.22.6).

Every man goes on in life with the orientation of getting something. A man after 38 years of active service for an employer receives a gift of a television and a promise of gratuity (N4m) in a no distance time. As for him; that is all he will get after using the best and most important part of his life to serve.

Apostle Peter in our text came to a point of asking a crucial question after critical analysis of the sacrifice they made following the Lord. But the Lord assured His disciples that they shall receive a hundredfold, and inherit eternal life (Matt.19.29). There are several fishermen in the time of peter who were not known because they did not follow Jesus!

Abraham at 75 followed God and at a point had a need to sacrifice his beloved son Isaac; by the virtue of this he became the father of faith and paradise the habitation of the saints was named after him. Your reward will come from whom you give your best. What the world gives is perishable but what God gives is eternal. You cannot follow God with all sincerity and run at a loss; He will never forget the labour of your love!

No man will reward you for doing nothing and no generation will ignore excellence. The people around you are not ignorant of the way you go about your daily routine activities. Hence, you market yourself with the zeal, enthusiasm and the skill you put in place in doing your things.

Irrespective of what your hand finds to do; put your best in it; that may bring about a definite turn around to your life. David at a point in time played an instrument so wonderful even when it seems not important to his life; but when they needed someone to play for King Saul who was tormented by evil spirit, he was remembered as a very skillful instrumentalist.

At a point, Joseph found himself in prison interpreting dreams for other inmates; the efficacy of his interpretation for ordinary prisoner brought him to the palace of Pharaoh where he fulfilled his mandate. There are several people that are not heard and failed in destiny because they despise little beginning. No matter how little your placement in life appears to be give your very best!

Focus: What Does it Mean to be a Christian

What makes a man a Christian is not his name, church, belief, title, language or the people he mingles with but a life which is Christ personified. To be a Christian means to be a disciple whose life resembles Christ in His attributes!!!

When the unbelievers in Antioch observed the pattern of the lives of the disciples of Jesus Christ; they affirmed the fact that truly they have been with Christ because their lives reassembled that of Christ; Hence, the name Christians. If you have been with Jesus as a disciple it will reflect in the life you live.

Every where you see a Christian you are expected to see Jesus and assurance of the presence of the Saviour. Jesus said to them all, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me (Luke 9:23)
Therefore, to be a Christian means to:
➡️Live a sacrificial life through self denial. To say No to the sinful nature no matter how good it appears to be. We now use different adjectives like good, genuine, spirit-filled with Christian because many so called Christians have dragged the name of God in the mud because they did not deny themselves.
➡️Carry your Cross daily. Living with the consciousness of the fact that the works of the flesh must remain dead to provide an allowance for the Holy Spirit to find expression in you daily.
➡️Walking in the steps of Christ. A Christian will only do what Christ will in every situation of life.

In summary, being a christian means living the Christ's life.

It is very easy and normal to claim to have faith and worship God when things are working perfectly for a man. God most of the times doesn't use comfort to validate men He wants to use to fulfill His purpose.

In the actual sense, we cannot really know who a man is and his faith in God until he falls under intense pressure of various battles of life. It became very obvious to God and to all men in all ages that the love the likes of Job, 3 Hebrews and Daniel (Job 1&2, Daniel 3&6) had for God is not rooted in what they have nor the position they occupied but in a sacrificial heart of worship for the God He is. As for them they were strong men who stood in righteousness under great pressure.

When you compromise every moral and Godly standard each time situation of life places you under pressure your strength is small and you are likely not to do great exploit for God in your pilgrimage. The only way to stand under any pressure is to yield yourself in absolute obedience to God's word!

The Lord called the men of Israel worm because He saw them as people who do not have enough strength to defend themselves and can be easily trampled upon by other nations. If the Lord does not stand by them they are good as dead because they have no back bone. However, the Lord offered to help them hence they need not to fear.

If you make critical analysis of your life, you will discover that you are incapacitated in various aspect of life; signifying that you need help. Each time you find yourself in any situation of life don't forget that God is not ignorant of your weakness and He is ever ready to help.

Hence, in the face of various limitation of life and uncertainties associated with all issues of this life; remember God said I will help you. You need not to fear but to present yourself to God the true source of help.

➡️To enjoy only what God has approved for your life. Living a guilt free life to keep your spiritual garment white in anticipation of a glorious eternity(Eccl 9:.
➡️To live joyfully with the wife/husband given to you by God. Having in mind that your partner is the best to love and cherish (Eccl 9:9)(Prov 5:15). The most miserable of all men on earth were those with a failed marriage.
➡️Eat your meals joyfully in the atmosphere of love without undue reference to what other people are eating. Appreciating God for his provision (Eccl 9:7, Prov 15:17, Prov 17:1).
➡️Doing your work joyfully and passionately (Eccl 9:10). There will always be desire for higher placement; however, the pessimist cannot enjoy life and his emptiness cannot file up in retrospect. Whatever your hands finds to do is the opportunity you cannot find in the grave.

As you proceed in destiny be ever mindful of the fact that you came naked and that whatever you have is a gift from God. In the case of Job, he did not allow what befell him to affect him; rather, he worshipped God the giver of life and all things.

Sometimes, God in a bid to remind we humans our limitation and the need to absolutely put our trust in Him and how powerless the strength we think we have in various aspect of life is; He allows us to hit the bottom of life. Hence, when you find yourself down in any aspect of life, it is a call to focus on God and trust Him for your life.

A man who thinks he is too big to start again can never rise beyond his fall. Never give up at any point in your life but rather brush away your tears, smile away your pains and trust God to help you to rise again. At whatever stage you find yourself in life do not forget that the glory of the latter house shall be greater than the former!

Each time a man looks down; he sees what he can do, what he needs but out of reach, his limitations, those he think can help but do not, lying vanities, impossibilities, strive for what cannot help and frantic race for relevance that don't last. Hence, there is no help looking down and there is no need for you to keep focusing down here so that you will not go down.

We must look up to God in all situation of life; this is where your help will come Ps 121. To look up means to seek the will of God; looking beyond your limitation and what man can do, looking above your present level in anticipation of His best level for you. Trusting in the everlasting arm and keeping faith and hope alive in God with no regard to position, material and human resources at your disposal.

No matter how terrible a situation appears to be; it is still subjected to change under God. The fact that you are still alive indicates that God is not yet through with your life and that you can experience change if you believe and wait for it!!!

This life is characterised by uncertainties and things can turn around unexpectedly. For Job, within few hours a very great tragedy befell him and changed the course of things. One would think that the gravity of what befell him will make him to take his life but he did not. On the contrary, He praised God for the privilege he had as a living soul, who brought nothing to this world, to have the possessions he lost. Not only that, in our text, he affirmed the fact that He will wait till his change comes.

In this life, I have never seen or heard about a man who had the experience of Job. Nevertheless, the trend of suicide in our time is alarming. There is no situation that befalls a man that God cannot turn around; depression will take its full course each time you forget the God factor in every situation of life. Several men who in the time past contemplated suicide but took solace in God now live to share the testimomy of their glorious rising! Whatever happens to you be mindful of the fact that God can turn things around.

Contentment begins by believing strongly that the word of God remains the right and the best principles for living. You will not find contentment until you have come to accept and believe that what the Lord has given you is what you need and the best for you and that only Him can meet your needs!!!

We are in a world which is in constant state of discontentment. People are not happy with their nation, leaders, job, church, school, spouse, children and the things they have. We keep trying to fill the void in our hearts looking for money, influential people and possessions of life; yet, we only end up wanting more there by making us feel more empty and depressed.

You have not really come to the fullness of God's blessing until you find contentment in Christ. True contentment is not something we can find in things, people or circumstances but through accepting Christ to live in His steps and having faith that in Him you will have everything you need.

The battle against your life is the battle against what the Lord will give you and make out of your life. All those who have given their lives to God through Christ Jesus have an inheritance with Him!!!

Have you at any point sat down and thought about why the devil is very much interested in your life. Why will he choose to promote you, place you at a very high position, make you influencial and famous, give you precious possessions of life at the expense of your soul? Why will a high personality like the wife of Portiphar be interested in a slave like Joseph?

Why did the devil not keep the glory of the world to himself that he demanded that Jesus should bow to him? The simple answer to all this questions is that all people of God have a glorious inheritance with Him. Becoming a child of God gives us the assurance of eternal life.

As for Paul, he kept the faith and he lived with the anticipation of the crown of righteousness, which the Lord will give him. Hence, the evil one will not rest until he makes sure that you loose out in the glorious inheritance prepared for you by God.

There is no time that is too late to return to God in absolute repentance. No matter how far you think you have drifted far away from God; His arm is ever waiting to receive you!!!

When the prodigal son saw that he cannot continue to live in the mess he brought himself into; he turned to a direction towards the Father who received him joyfully. Similar fate awaits every man who repent genuinely. There is no man who go away from the father that will not mess up. To remain in the mess is the greatest tragedy that can happen to a man.

The devil may provide an arm to provide a temporal measure for your mess but you are only safe with the Lord and his arm is ever safe to receive you. No matter how great the gravity of what you have done against the will of God may appear to be the fact still remains that despite the fact that God chastises his people severely; He doesn't give them over to death (Ps.118:18). His love for all mankind is that we should not perish but to have everlasting life.

Don't give up on God on the account of your shortcomings He is ever waiting to accept you. He is very much interested on your home coming! Repent and get things right with your creator!

Focus: When God is not Going With You

The journey God is not going with you is your own journey. All men who embark on their own journey lose out in destiny and pay a painful price achieving nothing!!!

Any journey you embark on in disobedience to God's will is a journey that will destroy you. In the first instance, the journey will look promising but the end result will be destruction. When the evil one wants to destroy a man, he takes him away from the path of righteousness peculiar to his destiny.

Each time you are tempted to go on your journey in the manner the prodigal son took his journey always remember that the same fate that befell him awaits you. The prodigal son lost everything he got from the father and became miserable. You can't afford such an experience.

Moses could not afford to lose the presence of God that was why he insisted that he won't go unless the Lord goes ahead of them. Let God lead you. Don't live to please men or satisfy the sinful nature nor go on some one else journey; stay where God wants you to stay and go where He wants you to go.

Focus: Making Sacrifice

The fact that you are still a living soul establishes the fact that God still kept you in the game of destiny; this implies that much is still expected of you. The rule of the game is that you keep winning when you keep aiming at the goal and that you are only allowed to be either offensive or defensive but not to sleep in the journey.

In the game you are likely to either suffer set backs or make progressive achievement; whichever way, keep pressing towards the goal till the end be it in your marriage, career, academics, ministry and pilgrimage to eternity. If the end has not come it is not over until it is over.

The life of a man is yet to be meaningful until he discovers his destiny. The fact that you are created for a purpose makes your destiny a peculiar one. You are not a fulfillment until you fulfill your destiny under God.

Some people have clear understanding of what God wants them to do but they refuse to do it and some of those who accepted to do it are not doing it according to His precept. The Lord instructed some people to leave where they are like the case of Abraham but they held on to their familiar ground and some of those who were told to remain where they are left due to desire for greener pasture to forfeit the purpose of God for their lives.

In life you must seek to know your destiny. True Fulfillment begins by finding and walking on the path of destiny. Allow God to order your steps into your glorious destiny like He did for Abraham, Joseph, David and Daniel.

At times, married couple may not even know each other's feelings, in such a case they can't help each other. At such times you have to help yourself through the word of God. Doing this will always bring about the required peace, love and joy you earnestly desire in your home.

Despite the fact that various life's pursuit can make you to be very busy, the fact still remains that you need a family with sons and daughters to have real fulfillment. In this big world, your small little world (family) which represents your lot in the land of the living will always make you feel good.

A Godly family can never be judgemental nor put you down and will never make you feel small. It is the only place where people will never laugh at your weakness and where you will always get love and respect. Be committed to making your marriage work through humility and love so as to have a godly family.

Since it is a gift of God it can only come from Him. It is not the limited resources available for a man that determines how miserable he is but the state of his heart.

When a man does not find fulfillment in various aspect of his life-academically, maritally, professionally, financially etc. he can never be happy. Finding fulfilment in whatever you do begins with finding God, who gives rest. You are required to take life easy as you pursue the portion of God's blessing reserved for you on earth according to the will of God.

Don't allow the cares and worries of life to kill the joy of the Lord in your heart. Always rejoice in the fact that God is ever by your side to bring to pass what He has said concerning you. Rejoice in the Lord always and keep hope alive.

At every point in time; God is saying something about you. There is a need to be mindful of what God is saying and what He will say in every action and inaction. In the case of Jesus, what God said was that He was pleased with Him.

There are several men who are doing wonderfully by human standard but God sees their practice as lawlessness. They are celebrities before men but to God they are not known (Matt 7:23). The fact that no man goes to the public without packaging him/herself; makes whatever men is saying about you less important than what God who know the intent of the heart and every deep secret is saying!

Sit down to examine yourself on what God is saying about how you are handling His service, your wife/husband, family, children, neighbours, employer, employee, surbodinate and every divine assignment at your disposal. In all you are doing place much priority on what God will say concerning you than what men are saying!

As long as the earth remains people and various situation of life will not but say something about you. Also, your experience in life will not but be communicating some messages into your mind. By default, you must have come to accept some things about your life. However, only what the Lord says matters and holds unto eternity.

No matter what happens to you do not forget that the thought of the Lord concerning you is the thought of peace and that He will never leave nor forsake you. The Lord is not ignorant of what you are likely to experience on the pathway of destiny; He said: "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you" (Isa 43:2).

One of those way to live successfully in this terrain is to be mindful of what the Lord has said concerning you even in the midst of what your doctor, friends, enemies, parent and everything around you is saying.

The fulfillment of the precious plan of God for Joseph will only come to pass if someone can just speak concerning him to the highest power in Egypt. He was not ignorant of this; that was why he said "make mention of me to Pharaoh". This principle still holds till date; soaring to the top is very easy when someone above you holds your hand and pull you up.

When the Lord is set to have mercy on a man He connects him to people that matter in high places. For David to fulfill the plan of God for his life he needed to get acquainted with the kingdom affairs. This was not possible until someone spoke about him to King Saul (1Sam 16:18).

One of the criminals who was crucified along with Jesus understood this principle said to Him, "Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom." (Luke 23:42). The height you will reach and how far you will go in destiny depends on the voice that speaks on your behalf in various high places. Even in Heaven, we the children of God have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous (1John 2:1).

To be relevant in God's purpose, we will not but face trials. Those who have gone before us never received the crown without being tested.

Trial is an instrument in the hands of God to bring men to the end of themselves. He uses it to teach us the true and the real values of life; so that we can all come to the understanding of His ways and what He can do. He put the children of Israel to test just to prove to them that man does not live by bread alone.

Patience is an important virtue for any man who truly desires to follow the Lord. It is not as if the Lord cannot answer your prayers nor is He ignorant of your commitment towards Him but He is trying to see how patient you can be in shaping your life to have the required character to fit into His divine purpose on earth.

When things seem to fall apart and situation of life tends to mount pressure on you; still wait upon Him. It is in waiting on Him that your life will be made perfect.

Destiny is that to which any person or thing is destined; a predetermined state; a condition foreordained by the divine or by human will; fate; lot; doom. Destiny is divine. When we waste our time competing with coworkers, neighbors, friends, family, trying to surpass them or perhaps prove that we are more successful or more important we end up missing out on the track to our destinies.

One thing in life is that, there will always be someone ahead of you, someone better than you in terms of better job, fat money in the bank, better education, better ideas, beautiful wife, handsome husband, better car, better house, well behaved children and all the rest of them.

Life is an organic process that goes from one phase to another. When you explore your uniqueness, you will discover the wings that have been long trapped in you. You will soar to heights you never thought possible. We are all gifted and unique in different ways, there is no need to feel bad with yourself. Even if things are not going well presently, we should remain courageous and determined. Soonest we will get to that very height we want.

One of those things the devil wants to achieve in the lives of all men is to ensure that we are separated from God. The essence of all trials and temptation coming your way is to ensure and validate if you will hold on to God or be separated from Him.

Paul at a point in his ministry raised some questions: "Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or unclothedness, or peril, or sword?" (Rom 8:35). This implies that most of these things are the major factors that separate men from God.

Submit yourself to God and do not allow sin to rule over your life; Be careful not to live in disobedience to His word because it will affect you morally, physically and spiritually. To be separated from God is to be separated from the efficacy of His power.

Sometimes, it seems as if serving God or labouring faithfully in His vineyard is a waste. However, God is not unjust to forget your work and labour of love which you have shown towards His name (Heb 6:10a).

Ruth turned to the God of Israel with a pure heart not minding what will become of her. She threw away her future, her precious past: her gods, people, family and kindred just to serve God. But God on His own part by principle always compensate those who serve Him unconditionally. The Lord gave her the future she thought had become impossible to achieve.

God will only compensate the service you render faithfully towards Him. Do not give away the precious plan of God for your life on the account of the compensation from unrighteous dealing. The Lord has set a time to compensate every faithful and sacrificial service towards Him.

God will not fight on your behalf when you are still lacking in the aspect of obedience to His principles. Each time a man fails to act on the instruction given to him by God; he succeeds in rendering powerless the potency of the power of God in his life.

You must cooperate with God to stop the evil work of darkness in your life by yielding yourself to do what he requires from you. Do not look down on what the Lord is telling you to do in any aspect of life; that is where your victory lies!

The Lord created man and made him to have dominion over the works of His hands. By His mercy He puts all things under his feet (Ps. 8:6). Hence, whatever height you have achieved in destiny, it does not make you in any way special than other men but rather a steward to God. This makes whatever crown or honour bestowed on you by God more of a test than for pleasure.

When God shows mercy on a man; He crowns and make him a General, Warrior, President, Governor, Judge, Director, Vice Chancellor, Principal, Minister, Chairman, Professor, King, Bishop, Reverend Dr., Chief, General Overseer, Husband, Wife and the likes!

The expectation of God for you on daily basis in every domain of life is that you should forget who you are and worship Him by yielding yourself to do His will. The beauty of man is in the breath of God he carries. Without God we are actually nothing. The admiration you get in every domain of life by the virtue of your achievements and physical appearance is as a result of the breath of God you carry.

Who is a General, Warrior, President, Governor, Judge, Director, Vice Chancellor, Minister, Chairman, Professor, King, Bishop, Reverend Dr., Chief, General Overseer and the likes? Are they not dust bearing the breath of God?

The Lord revealed who King Herod was when he failed to give glory to the One who gave him breathe (Act 12:18-25). You are not different from any other person around you; only the level of grace and various life privileges that differ; we will all return to dust. Humble yourself and acknowledge God as you proceed in destiny. Worship Him for yet another privilege you have as a living soul.
