Focus: All Men will Rest from their Labour

WORD FOR TODAY
Every man no matter how great and busy in the land of the living will rest from his or her labour to meet God the creator of all things. The Lord sanctified the Sabbath to remind us as men that we will all rest from our labour!!!

It is not the will of God for you to be working round the clock all days for any reason. God designed the lives of men to retreat from whatever he/she does from time to time to worship Him. Every avenue or platform designed to give you an opportunity to meet with God you must not neglect because it is made to make you to know Him and experience more of Him.

Some people as a result of one thing or the other gave up worshipping God. Some even claim to be worshipping God in their closet because to them most priest have compromised their office. Whatever the case maybe the fact still remains that corporate blessing that comes when two or three people are gathered can only be received each time a man joins other faithfuls to worship God.

Make it a practice to meet with God whenever call or duty demands it. Let it be a reminder to you that a day is coming when you will not but have an option than to leave this terrain to meet your creator. However, as you join the people of God to worship in a church allow the word of God to work in your life; to purge, purify and make you presentable to God!

Focus: Be Free From Guilt

WORD FOR TODAY
Life gets freer and better in obedience to God's principles. Living a life free from guilt is a prerequisite to enjoying the power and the peace of God in the land of the living.

The brothers of Joseph continue to attribute every misfortune they had as a consequence of what they did to him. The same will play out in the life of every man who chooses to live in guilt. Guilt is a cancer that kills a man from the inside. It deprives men the needed confidence they should have in the battle of life and God's presence.

The heaviness of guilt is debilitating. It causes mental breakage, emotional crippling, even physical deterioration. Overall health and well-being is adversely affected when we carry guilt inside. Human being was psychologically designed for innocence, so as long as there is unresolved guilt within us our quality of life is compromised on all levels.

If you are still living in guilt; take the issues to the cross where the work of reconciliation was perfected. And be ready to submit yourself to principles under God that will ensure total freedom from guilt.

Focus: The Wickedness of the Wicked

The wickedness of the wicked live with them. Every act of wickedness is an evil seed sown into the journey of destiny and to act wickedly is to reject the peace of God!!!

One of the important declaration of God to the entire human race is that: "There is no peace for the wicked" The implication of this is that every man who sow the seed of wickedness will never know peace.

Irrespective of the reason a man is holding unto to perpetrate wickedness, the fact still remains that the verdict of God for every wicked soul is that they will not know peace. This is because the seed of wickedness brings about destruction.

A man will have no choice but to be wicked each time he refuses to allow the peace of God to rule in his heart. Do not act, think and love wickedness if you want to enjoy peace in the journey of destiny. Even when it seems as if a man is deriving what it looks like a wonderful dividend from evil and wicked act; his life will never be a blessing, his remembrance will be a curse and his end will end in crises.

Beneficiary of good things and victims of the evil perpetrated by evil can never forget the actions of men towards them. If you must be remembered for something it must be for God!!!

Everything we are doing now will surely go into the memory lane. Both the good and the bad things a man does in the lives of other men will be remembered. What we have seen over time is that those who do evil always forget their deeds towards others. The brothers of Joseph could not recognise him but he did not forget them and what they did to him.

You will only be deceiving yourself if you think the victims of your deeds will forget your attrocities. They may forgive your wrong doing but history will not. Hence, try all you can under God to leave a positive indelible mark in the heart of those who come in contact with you. Make your remembrance in the heart of men a blessed one. Just as the evil of evil men live with them so also the good deed of good people live with them.

If you are evil and do evil in the lives of men, evil will never depart from your household. Everything you do either in secret or public is a seed that will yield bountiful fruits of your deeds in days to come!!!

The end of every evil man will never be good. The judgement of the Lord will surely come on every deed of men. No matter how smart the methodology of a man may be in doing evil, he will not always get away with his deeds.

Be reminded that every evil act is painful and capable of causing agony in the lives of the victims. Irrespective of who you are, the Lord is not ignorant of what you have done and doing. Your pretence before men cannot save you in the day of God's vengeance.

The seed of agony you have created in people's life is coming to you in multiple fold. The earlier you decide and cease from doing evil the better for you. Repent from doing evil!

Every man will not but come to the point of facing his destiny all alone. Every support or help you use to enjoy will not last forever. There is a limit your friend, parent, spouse, pastor can go with you in destiny. This is because every man has a race exclusively set before Him. Make best use of every opportunity you have when God bring men on your path in destiny to help you; enjoy while it lasts.

Jesus in His hour of darkness was left alone; his disciples could not even watch on his behalf prior to His arrest. And when He was arrested they left Him. Those He healed, raised from the death, taught the word of God, fed with 5 bread and 2 fishes; were no where to be found.

What happened to Jesus here is a prototype of what will also happen to you in destiny. Don't be dejected on the account of people's behaviour to you in any situation you find yourself; they did not at any point in time promise to be with you in all situation.

All men who have truely experienced the power of resurrection will know not just by head knowledge or what they are told that the death and resurrection of Christ Jesus is real and not just a religious myth. If you have experienced the power of God you will know that common sense cannot explain spiritual things.

The power of resurrection is the power that translate the worst sinner into a saint. It is the power that delivers a man from sin. Also, it is the power that empowers ordinary men to do extraordinary things. If this power have worked in your life you will discover that you now have a new life with practical evidence. The place you used to wallow in sin you are no longer there.

They sought for Jesus where they laid him; but he was no longer there. This should also be your testimony. The Lord is ever wanting to see you move from glory to glory from time to time. To live a resurrected life you must say YES to Jesus. You must believe in His death and resurrection even as you submit yourself for His spirit to find expression in your life!!!

The efficacy of the power of God will be redundant in the life of a man until he comes to understand the work of the cross. Living a crucified life is a key to having victory over sin, devil and worldliness!!!

The victory we have in Christ Jesus is actually in knowing and living with the consciousness that we have be crucified with Christ. The implication of this is that I that used to steal, fight, get angry, exhibit the works of the flesh and be under the influence of addictions and evil works of darkness is dead. But now it is Christ who lives in me.

As long as a man chooses to remain dead he gives Christ the needed allowance to manifest in Him.
Hence, what the cross did was to put to death our former self who used to obey the dictate of the Devil to live under his influence.

It is by the Cross that the iniquity of us all (the self life), the embodiment of sin (the flesh) was crucified and rendered powerless over us (Gal 6:14, Rom 6:6, Isa 53:5-6). It nullifies the ground on which the devil can attack us (Col 2:13-15) and insulate us from the world system to provide an allowance to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit with all liberty (Rom 6:14).

The ultimate desire of God is for us to live with the consciousness of His will in all you do. If you remain in Christ and His word dwells in you; your life will be characterized with righteousness and this will not only manifest in your words alone but also in your deeds.

Some people pass examination and attribute it to God despite engaging in examination malpractices. Some people are making it big according to the standard of the world but at the expense of others; yet still go boldly to testify unrighteous gain as God's goodness before His people.

No matter how long it will take for God to remember you as far as your needs and desire is concerned wait upon God. It is more glorious with eternal reward for a man to succeed as a believer. After all is said and done it will be in the record of God that you have not allowed anything to come between you and your saviour. Not even money, position, fame and men's favour. In everything you do don't forget to be a believer!

Every man sets out in destiny with the aim of getting something. However, many people derailed from the will of God for their lives due to their inability to wait upon God and satisfy the demands it entails to walk in righteousness.

We are in a society where unrighteousness has become norms and the fact that many are doing it makes it look as if it is right. It is now so bad to point that to people around you, even so called men of God and others who know the secret of your unrighteous dealings may not tell you the truth because they are beneficiaries.

Hence, there is a need to evaluate your life by asking yourself the following questions:
�Is my heart free from guilt?
�Will God really accept the sacrifice from my dealings?
�Can I testify to the glory of God all the things I have and achieved?
�Who takes the glory over my life?
�Who do I live to please?

If what you have and the people around you are deceiving you; your heart will not! You can succeed as a believer. The ultimate plan of God for you is to be both earthly and eternally relevant.

What matters to God in everything you become in life is your faith in Him. He will never take glory over the fruit produced by unrighteous seeds. There is no limit to what God can do in the lives of His children who walk in righteousness. All over the world; I have not seen or heard about an achievement the people of the world has that God has not done for His people.

Hence, in whatever you want to be in life submit to Godly principles to achieve it. This is the only way you can have peace, joy, fulfillment and a heart that is free from guilt. Be mindful of the fact that nothing truly last in this life except the grace of God. Whatever you have without the approval of God who rules in the affairs of men can never give you the required satisfaction you truly desire!!!

Focus: Saved by Grace

WORD FOR TODAY
A man is frustrating the grace of God if he lives believing that he can get it right with God by what he does or did not do. No matter what happens in your walk with God; your premises must not change because we are saved by grace and not by works!!!

Sometimes when people are caught in the web of sin, they become weary, dejected and give up doing the will of God thereby wallowing in sin. Some by the virtue of the critical analysis of what they have done till date conclude that God can never accept them again.

The word of God makes it clear that all have sinned (Rom 3:23) and the wages of sin is death (Rom 6:23). No amount of religious activities like fasting, giving of alms, praying, singing, preaching, teaching and careful living can make a man to stand in righteousness before God.

Only the man who comes to the cross and accept the work of the cross can be saved. You are only accepted by God because Christ took your place and your deeds was laid on Him where He was crucified. Hence, you are saved by faith in Christ Jesus. Whatever happens to you in the journey of life; don't forget the Cross!

There is no doubt in the fact that there is an end to everything we are doing on earth. It is good for a man to be running the race of life labouring, fasting, singing, teaching, preaching, worshipping, serving for the cause of the Lord. However, it is more glorious to do these things in absolute obedience to God till the end.

The likes of Samson, Solomon, Dema, Judas, King Saul started their race in life well but their end was characterized with several questionable issues at the end. Many started their pilgrimage well but ended badly, as a casualty and victims of life circumstances because of unbelief and their inability to wait on God in trying times.

As they day goes by, try as much as possible to fight the good fight of faith to end well. Allow God to help you not to backslide. Let us run with patience the race set before us bearing in mind we shall soon be forgotten and everything will come to an end!!!

The situation of your life is like the way it is because the Lord wants to use it to surprise you. The way the Lord will handle your case will always be different from the way you are thinking He will. No matter how terrible the situation of your life is, the fact still remains that the thought of the Lord concerning you is of peace.

Joseph couldn't believe it when he was made the prime minister of Egypt right from the prison. Jacob couldn't believe it when he was told Joseph is still alive and when they presented to him the sons of Joseph (Gen 48:8-11). Ruth never thought she could get someone to marry her among the people of God who were barred from doing so but God in His mighty way made it happen just because of her choice to follow and serve Him (Ruth 1:16-17, 3:1, 4:1-End).

The man at the pool of Bethesda in John 5 was waiting for the stirring of water by the angel but Jesus came and healed him after 38 years. Even if you don't know how God will intervene in the issues in your life; it will come as a surprise because God will do it in His own way. Do not fret yourself about anything trust God for miracles.

There are several prevailing situations of life that tends to make men become weary in the journey of destiny. Sometimes, those situations can prompt men to think that God has forsaken them. Nevertheless, the fact still remains that God has an attribute that He does not forget or forsake His own.

Job knew this very fact about God during his travail which made him say: Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him. Even so, I will defend my own ways before Him (Job 13:15). King David was not also ignorant of this fact when he was required to choose among 3 options that he chose to fall into the hands of God.

As you proceed in destiny seek to know the Lord by experience. When you seek Him; you will know that His name is a strong tower that provides refuge for the righteous (Prov 18:10). If you have seen God in a mighty way either in your life and the lives of men around you, be mindful of the fact that He remains the same and that you can always trust Him!!!

When the Lord is set to prove himself big in the lives of His people He outsmarts the evil one to workout His good pleasure. Every success the evil one claim over the children of God is actually a win for the fulfillment of His purpose!!!

If you are living in obedience; doing what the Lord requires of you, remaining where He wants you to be, no matter how effective the evil enterprise of the evil one appears to be over your life it will work out the purpose of God. When Joseph's brother succeeded in selling him to Egypt they bragged in affirmation that His dreams will never come to pass. Unknown to them they set his destiny on course.

At a time when they thought that they have prevailed over him, by the power of God; He said: "I am Joseph your brother" The same scenerio also played out when Christ Jesus was crucified with the aim of putting an end to His dynasty, surpremacy and Lordship but the whole thing lasted to the third day. Death became victory for Him and the perfection of the work of salvation of all mankind. Every evil enterprise of the evil one in your life is a win for the fulfillment of God's purpose for your life as long as you remain in Him and live according to His purpose!!!

A man who has truly heeded to the call to salvation is not expected to live for himself but for the purpose of God. To live for the purpose of God means to live a sacrificial life in the manner of Christ Jesus.

At every point in time, Jesus will always come to you in the picture of your neighbour who needs food to eat, clothes to wear, house to sleep, connection for exaltation, counsel for direction, training for empowerment, prayers over life challenges, sponsor for various life's achievement, money for school fees, house rent and hospital bills. Hence, your reward with God hereafter depends on your reaction towards your neighbour.

As far as Jesus is concerned you did nothing for Him if you fail to do it to your neighbour. After claiming to love God; the practicality of the love you have for God will manifest in your action towards your neighbours.

There is no amount you spend on yourself that you cannot spend on another. What you don't wish for yourself you cannot wish for another. What you can do to pursue your dream is what is expected of you to pursue the dreams of your neighbour. Our world will be a very beautiful place to live if every man will live considering the interest of His neighbour.

Every opportunity you have in this life is given for work. The only way to secure each moment is to work. There are several men who were given the position of authority but only chose to eat instead of working. These men left the scene without a landmark achievement because they did not work.

Various cloud of witnesses around us testify to the fact that we will all leave the scene of life. It is a pity that some people who left their office yesterday couldn't return today despite their schedule because they have no option but to answer the call to eternity. A day like this is coming for all men.

Life is given to please God. Now that you have the grace in various scene of life; give your best to work to fulfill your purpose and please God. Make remarkable positive impact in the lives of men to engrave your name in their hearts!!!

There are two institutions which God personally instituted among others: the Church and Marriage. No marriage or Church can succeed without God. A marriage is only a success when it fulfills the purpose of God; so also the church. If there is no consistent work of God on a man, Church, marriage; such cannot be of pride to God.

God is the 3rd invisible cord when two or more gather as a Church and when a man and a woman are joined in holy matrimony. This 3rd cord will only come when there are two (husband and wife) people. Hence, there must be daily relationship with God the originator of marriage if it must fulfill His purpose.

We must be conscious of the presence of God in our marriage because He is the witness between the husband and the wife (Malachi 2:14). Be mindful of the fact that God is a witness to how you are treating your spouse both at his/her presence and in absentia. Let God be involved in your marriage. Honour Him by giving yourself to obeying His laid down principle for successful marriage!

It is established in the word of God that two people cannot work together except they agree (Amos 3:3). Some people came to this level of agreement and took a definite decision to embark on a destiny walk in holy matrimony. Many seem to have a promising and an enviable start putting into consideration their pre-wedding activities, first class marriage ceremony, romantic honeymoons and personal blissful vacation/retreat. In a nut shell, it is very rare to find a marriage without a promising start.

Nevertheless, several marriages crumble and fail despite an expensive or sacrificial promising start. Many a times, this happens when partners get to a point of revelation in their marital destiny and they become ashamed.

As you proceed on the pathway of marital destiny, always have it at the back of your mind that several revelations will be unfolded as the days go by. At every point of revelation in absolute unclothedness of any type of inadequacies in the life of your partner; you are required to be a complement and to also stand by him/her and not to be ashamed or put him/her away.

Don't ever forget the fact that marriage was instituted to meet up with man's inadequacy. Fulfill God's purpose by making your marriage work through sacrificial love!

Be ever mindful of the fact that your spouse is an important and incomparable portion given to you by God on earth. God gave every individual a companion to ensure that our walk on the pathway of destiny is easier and our hardship blown away.

Do not be deceived or be carried away by the gimmicks of the devil telling you that there is something to enjoy outside your marriage. Whatever you get will rather add trouble and complications to your destiny. No man/woman can fit properly into your destiny like your husband/wife. By the virtue of his age, he might have given up that God is not interested but God in His mercy yet again proved that He is a God that answer prayers.

You can only know when a seed is sown but it is of the Lord to determine when to germinate and grow to the point of manifestation. Do not stop praying, pray until your joy is full. Believe when you pray that it is answered. Wait on God to bring to pass what He wants to do and cooperate with Him to do His good pleasure in your life. Keep serving Him even when things appear not to improve after series of prayers.

You must know as you proceed in destiny that God will do His good pleasure in His own way and at His own time. Learn how to trust, believe and hold the hands of God in prayer over all issues of life.

The fact that eternity lies ahead of us makes us both physical and spiritual being. Whether you are rich or poor life goes beyond this terrain; for we will surely die and become like water spilled on the ground (2 Sam 14:14a). I have come to discover that what most people use their prime age and the best of their strength and days to achieve does not have any eternal value to them.

I was privileged to watch an award ceremony of a prestigious University where three personalities were awarded based on their achievements in life. I was overwhelmed by the citations of one of the awardees because along with his outstanding services and achievement in the society, what he did and still doing for God was not left out.

After a man dies his certificates become useless. His properties become another's. All he has done will go into the memory lane. It is only what he does to fulfill the purpose of God that has eternal value. Abraham was a great achiever both on earth and God's eternal presence. Do not only invest on this terrain but also please God with your existence by fulfilling His purpose.

Several people of God who won the battle of life must have at one time or the other struggled with fear. The Lord at a point keeps telling Joshua over and over to “be not afraid,” “be of good courage,” etc. (Joshua 1:9, 18; 8:1). It was an encouragement against cowardice that Joshua passed along to the Israelites (Joshua 10:25).

Giving up because you think you don't have enough strength or that your antagonist is stronger is an act of cowardice. Bowing to the devil, shunning to do the will of God and maintaining friendship with the world is an act of cowardice.

So-called Christians are not standing up for God. They’re afraid to speak up when the pressure is on so they won’t get persecuted. They stand up for Satan instead of God. Deny Him and His Word and He will deny you.

Cowardice in the battle of life means death. If you don't want to die or lose out in destiny you must never live your life as a coward. You must be ready to face death if you must not die.

The Israelites shouted with assurance of victory when the ark of covenant came into their midst. The noise shook the earth to the point that it terrified the camp of the enemy. It is unfortunate that their noise did not result into victory because the Lord was not involved.

There are several noise all around us which appears like the sound of victory due to the fact that an ark (the name of God) is used as a trademark. The presence of an ark does not mean that the power of God will be effective. As you proceed in destiny don't be carried away by noise but seek to know God to work and walk in His ways. This is the ultimate way to freedom and victory.

The ark of covenant became ineffective in the hands of filthy priest. In the presence of iniquity every cry towards God except that of mercy and repentance becomes an abomination. Hence, it is not enough to shout or even pray you must live to please God and go on in life at His command. Also, know that no noise is necessary if God is not making it or made to glorify Him.

The difference in the calibre of men in this life is motivation. Most people know what is right but not all men is motivated to do what is right. You will not but see men who failed in various aspect of life. The evidence of failure may be seen all around you with respect to your experiences. Do not be discouraged be motivated to reach your goal.

I have seen God on many occassion motivating His people by using the word: "Fear not". As long as you live and move on in destiny you will always come across what will discourage or make you fear. Brave and mighty men at various point in life became afraid but motivated themselves to become victorious in the battle of life.

Be motivated to make your marriage, career, academics and other aspect of life work the purpose of God. Strive to get the best out of what you do. Don't put away your good dreams because of discouragement. Be motivated to do great things for God.

In 1 Sam 4; we saw two categories of people, the Israelites and the Philistines. The Israelites made a very loud noise which terrified the Philistines when they brought the ark of covenant to the battle front. But the Philistines motivated themselves and defeated the Israelites even with the ark of covenant on their side.

Motivation is important in becoming what God wants you to be. It is not enough for God to have wonderful plans for your life you must be motivated to enter into it against all odds.

One of those things the enemy targets in the battle of life is to ensure you are not motivated. A man who is not motivated in the battle of life is more or less a dead man still living. To eat the fruit of the land you must be motivated. No matter what happens be motivated to move on in the journey of destiny.

We must not be ignorant of the fact that God created us not for ourselves but for the fulfillment of His purpose. We are only indebted to impress God with our lives. The summary of the life of Jesus Christ was that God was well pleased with Him. There is no man who ever tries to impress men that can please God.

When God discovered the disobedience of King Saul He regretted making him King over the Israelites (1Sam 15:11). His major problem was that he always try to impress people. Many people like King Saul did not marry the will of God for their lives because they value the impression of men about them than what God will say about them. The same also apply to some men who disobeyed God in running their ministry to prove to men that they are successful.

All men are dust, the impression of men are shortlived. You are not successful under God if your life is not patterned according to the intended purpose. Let your marriage, career, ministry, academics and your life in its entirety impress God.

The first and foremost understanding you must have as you proceed in the journey of destiny is that you are not created for yourself. You were not the one in the picture when God considered to bring you to existence. Your creation is to fulfill a course. Hence, there is a reason why some things will be unique in your life and where you cannot just escape some experience in life.

The fact that Jesus came to be the Lord of all makes it imperative for Him to die on the cross. Abraham became the father of faith by the virtue of the experience he had. Joseph was created to save the men of his own generation from famine and to set the pace for the Israelites to advance into their glorious inheritance according to the word of God. Hence, he had to be a slave in Egypt to achieve this. God did not pay attention to His tears during his trying period but brought him into the fulfilment of His mandate.

You will be doing yourself great harm if you do not cooperate with God by submiting to Him to work out His good pleasure with your life. As far as God is concerned the existence of a man living contrary to His intended purpose is a waste.

Therefore, your existence is not in isolation to that of your parents. You were given to them as a blessing and that you must be to them. Irrespective of what must have transpired between you and your parents the fact still remains that your action towards them is a seed sown which you will also reap in coming days.

If they did not abort you or sell you for money to give you right to life and even spend their hard earned money joyfully to help you to take the first steps in various aspect of life; they deserve to be honoured. Your parents are not limited to those who gave birth to you but also those who carried you on the shoulder to see the world in various aspect of life (Spiritually, Academically, Financially, Morally, Maritally etc). Giving due reverence to these people will not only make the Lord to add to your days but will also workout things to favour you.
