Nairaland / General / Re: What's The Worst Thing You Ever Did Under The Influence Of Alcohol? by Jonbeezy(m): 6:50pm On Aug 28, 2020
Hahahahaha! if you are a guy and alcohol hasn't embarrassed you yet....then you are missing on a life-time memory.
first i got very drunk was in 2006. stole Mum's visitors "Calypso" and partied hard with my guys. we had a small musical "Ogene" group then. we were all high from the ogene vibes and alcohol and then; i noticed i was quarreling with someone, ( a bad guy in the street for that matter) like 7 years older than i was then. i was so ready to fight this bad guy that night but thank God he didn't take me serious. i woke up the next day and my friends were surprised at my confidence and morale. i knew the cause!!! Lolz.

The last time i got embarrased was early this year, at a wake. it was at a friend's father's wake and i just wanted to get high that night.(though i don't smoke) I took like 7 Bottles of heineken mixed with large volumes of Whiskey and Rum. Mehn, i had a hold of myself till we left our table to the dance floor......just then, the Band started playing " Ozo bu iwe" by the Oriental Brothers( You'll understand the kinda vibes this particular song gives, if you are an Easterner)....i literally Lost it then! i fell into unconsciousness that my fellow guys had to carry me from where i laid and i had nothing on but my briefs!!!
This is indelible in my mind. i laugh when i remember it. thank God my Guys made sure my phones and money were safe. would have been a very painful one.

I learnt that it's possible to also mail transcript to them but the mail has to be initiated by the institution....so many bad reviews about this ETX-NG
Exactly! I have read reviews about ETX and was not satisfied with what i read about them. This is the main reason i want to get my transcript myself from my school and mail it along with every other document to WES. I cannot trust my school to do that on my behalf.

Whoa, how come you missed us on this thread? cry
Sorry about that. I had to browse through BCS website and i was referred to the institution. I believe they are licensed and the authorised body representing them in Nigeria.

Do you guys also run BCs programs....where is your location, Cost, and when do registrations start??

OND & HND = two certificates.
Additional certificate will add no points unless you have a Master's certificate.

I am a bit confused here. Do you guys mean that if i already have a Bsc degree, i won't be needing another Certificate like Bcs

Also, i intend to enrol for the Bcs certificate in IT (as it'd boost my scores). Which genuine Institution is available, coz i learnt we only have one of such institutions in Nigeria based in Plateau state. I recently contacted an Institution by the name Compunet Limited. Are they real??

Lastly, how much is the cost to acquire a certificate in Bcs. Pls anyone with good knowledge should help me out.

Your reference letter should show your annual gross salary, working hours and responsibilities. See link below on the format of a reference letter -
https://www.nairaland.com/4657743/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled/25#70087190

If you want to claim that you were paid in cash, you will need to provide payslips. You can read up on the experiences of people who were paid in cash here -

https://www.nairaland.com/5031893/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled/142#76663649

In addition to the reference letter, you might want to include employment letter.

For WES, make sure that your WES reference number is included. You can check the WES website for requirements

Thank you very much sir. I appreciate your time and efforts. I'll now probably have to wait for Lifting of lockdowns to register for IELTS....and subsequently, have my ECA done. I hope to be among the ITA recipients soon.

1) IELTS - register for the IELTS with the British Council and write the exam. Exams are suspended now though because of COVID 19

ECA - register with WES (Canada) and when you pay, you get a reference number.

You can send your transcript using the following:

Option 1 - https://wes.etx.ng. This is sent electronically but can take a longer time.
Option 2 - ask Exams and records to send directly to WES Canada. Transcript must be in a sealed envelope that is signed or stamped across the back flap by the appropriate official at the institution.
Option 3 - if Exams and record gives you the document to send to WES, it MUST be in a sealed envelope.

Always quote your reference number

3) Reference letter - what’s your job description? Check the National Occupational Classification and see where you fall in. Check page 1 for reference letter format (not recommendation letter).

4) Funds - when you receive your ITA, funds should have been in your accounts for 6 months.

Thank you very much Phabulous. I understand that the IELTS is on hold for now. Well, i am studying very hard for it because i want to get high marks.

Secondly, It seems option 1 and 2 cannot work for me for ECA valuation. Reason is i don't trust how long getting my transcript transferred to WES will take. And since everybody's on a lockdown(I don't even know if UNIZIK will open in the near future), it'll be a time risk to have my school send those required docs to WES. You know how lazy and non-chalant they can be.
So i plan to get my transcript and have it mailed to WES myself.

Thirdly, i was a sales manager in the retail shop then. Just quitted like some months ago to start something up for my self. Also, i wasn't paid all along but the Business is registered. ( just like i was learning a trade) do you think the non-payment part'll affect my chances?? Of course the CEO is a family friend, so getting a reference letter won't be such a hurdle.

Lastly, i have projected my business to rake in a profit equal or a bit more than the required POF. But, COVID 19 is wrecking my plans for now...but i am optimistic i can get aleast equal of the POF in the remaining months of the year. Please advise me. Thank you very much for your response. Good morning.

Good evening House. I have been a follower of this Canada immigration forum for some time. Previously, i have been a bit reluctant to pursue this objective, but believe me....i am so ready now to leave Nigeria. However, i need your assistance and guidance.
(1) how do i go about IELTS and ECA valuation now, because this pandemic seems to be disrupting everything. Are they still working now??

(2) Can i get my Transcript from my school (UNIZIK) and have it mailed by courier to WES by myself.

(3) Concerning Reference letter; i worked with a Retail business outlet for some years( Registered business) and i am wondering if a recommendation letter from the CEO will be okay.

(4) Do i need to have the estimated fund available now in an account or is it necessary only when one has got an ITA??

Thank you house. I hope to be among the ITA recipients soon. Stay safe.

It pains me how such a guy should pass through this... i also posted this so people do not lose hope in love. All men are not the same(same for women) never mind what you read here all the time on Nairaland. I pray to have someone i'd have so much passion and love for.

I know how uncomfortable and painful ur life has become bro. I have been in ur shoes like 5 months ago. Any tear or rupture in the rectum is very painful...worse than any pain u knw. Mine was an Anal fissure.... it took like 2 months to properly heal. If you have confirmed it to be a pile, then u need to see a doctor who is a specialist on such cases. Don't go seeing a normal physician. Maybe ur case is past the early stage. U sincerely need some good attention. Not all doctors know how to deal with certain ailments. I wish u quick recovery....be strong. cry cry

Fate? Having a professional certification in your field (Economics) isn't a criterion for eligibility for EE. Just do the page zero thing painstakingly and you'd understand the minimum requirement enough to teach them in schools wink

Don't register with agent as most of them charge high than the normal price, British council seem to be the best place with 68k, you pay tru bank draft ifo British council. You need to do the registration online at British council.com . Welcome on board, just know its not for the weak.

You guys are amazing with your responses. i appreciate that. i was a little confused seeing immigration law firms like Campbell cohen asking me to register with them online. i was kinda confused as i saw several others with the same plea of registering with them. i needed a tried and tested one by a nairalander. thank u.

you should read this thread from the first page (and previous parts) to equip yourself. It is long but usually an interesting read if you do so with enthusiasm of what lies ahead. When you're done, you'd have answers to these questions and more but before then, do not engage the services of an agent to register for IELTS. I don't see any point in that

Thank you very much for your response bro. Pls what is the fate of someone with only a BS.c degree in Economics? i do not have a professional cert to back it up. what do u suggest pls? thanks.

@ Jonbeezy,

You have the option of paying online if it will not be convenient to take a bank draft to their office. However, confirmation of payment is often delayed when you do the online route (based on Nairaland people's experience)

i got ur response and i am glad. it is becoming clearer to me now. now i have a question pls: i have only a BS.c certificate in Economics. i do not have an additional professional certificate (like N.I.M). as i have read here,i understand it is needed. pls what do i do?

Honestly a lot of question you're asking I don't have the answer too. You should check and ask your top questions in the skilled worker thread. I don't think you can apply for two different visa's at the same time. And unless you come in as a PR, you usually need a work permit.

okay bro. thanks for the tips. i really appreciate it. i will just exercise patience and flow with the Express entry program. i'd need ur email add for possible guidance bro. i will appreciate that.

I'm back people with yet another of my recent experience with career advancement in Canada. So you guys remember me telling you all how I got two jobs and was spoilt for choice over which to pick. Well to refresh those that may have forgotten I chose the big firm (even though the position was temporary and entry level hourly operator while the other was permanent ,full time but for a smaller firm) because I believed it had better prospects for career growth.

Well I took my humble pie and resumed for the hourly operator job on 2nd January and we were all placed on a 3day orientation and training program. It went on like that up until Thurs when something dramatic happened. After we have been dispersed to head to our various departments, as I was waiting in the lobby with my other colleagues for our department rep, I was approached by the operations manager who asked if I could spare him 5mins of my time. I obliged and he took me to a meeting room and we were immediately joined by another manager. I sensed I was going to be interviewed again, so I quickly psyched myself. The operations manager started by telling me he needed a new group manager in his department as one of his guys just got promoted and moved to another location and he feels I can fill that position. The next 30-45mins was a grilling but yet refreshing interview where I was mainly asked competency based questions that required I relate my answers very well to my past experiences (which all came from Nigeria).

So people that was how I started the year/week as a floor staff but ended the week as a first-line manager. The purpose of my sharing this story is not to in any way pride in my efforts because I owe everything I am to God but to encourage someone/anyone who can dare to believe in the impossible. Yes miracles still do happen. It's not by he that runneth but on the Lord that showeth mercy. Be courageous my fellow naija Canadians. Go out there and claim what's yours!

Peace.

Wow ! what a lovely way to start the new year. you are blessed ooh! you really know your onions bro. congrats.
please,is it possible to get a job in Canada without enrolling for any of the immigration programmes, that is without being a permanent resident? do i need a work permit for that?? i do not want to go through d process of an LMIA. you know the reasons of course. i need your response bro.

also i would like to know if it is possible for one to get a visa to canada while the application is still on for permanent residency . can i get to work without permit if i do so.

Almost 2 Yrs after youth service but no Job is coming forth i have decided it would be wise if i tried elsewhere. to be candid, life in naija as a fresh graduate without links to getting jobs can be very frustrating.
i have heard about Canada, and i also heard it is a very nice country. but i do not know how to get in there. i already know it could be hard getting a professional Job with my degree (Economics) over there. but i do not mind getting another degree or upgrading on the existing one.

however, i need to know what jobs i can get as a fresh immigrant in canada. i do not mind Menial Jobs as long as i can pay my bills and send something home . also,i need to know the costs and requirements to be a legal immigrant in Canada. you would be helping a brother with your tips . thanks.

Give up the internet for 6 months or even a year. That way you wouldn't watch porn and you will have a total peach of mind.

Also get really busy.
quite a nice tip....but he will definitely run back to it once the Internet comes back to his palms. it is a psychological thing...i have studied the trend and understand the workings behind it. it is pretty difficult avoiding Internet these days remember?? it is now part of us. i bet you cannot advise him to stop coming to Nairaland too...because you cannot view the threads here if you do no have an Internet access.
it is one stubborn habit one cannot fight off completely but gradually,it is segmental, break it down and fight the bits . then you will have a hold over it.
i like your last line....getting really busy is a plus.
Romance / Re: HELP!!! Masturbation Is Gradually Destroying Me by Jonbeezy(m): 10:08pm On Oct 28, 2017
Masturbation is generally one habit difficult to stop. it is better you do not start it. even a long hiatus from it is not a guarantee you are done with it. you can only minimize the frequency, but total abstinence takes a whole lot. going by the age you started, i must say that is a very curious and age sexually exciting building hormones are developed. your body has become acclimatized to the hunger and satisfaction it gives you.

i must say 90 percent sure you are an introvert. you do not have much friends and probably do not have the self esteem to talk to girls, your world is made beautiful by by the countless porn and several fetishes on the Internet. you prolly have many.

So first is to Get a girlfriend who is sexually active, let her know your fetishes (just hope it does not involve the extreme though) if, it turns her on too....then you have defeated one stubborn part of the urge. provided she always gives you a dosage of your fetish and turn-ons. get a sexually active girlfriend, believe me, she will help cure it to some extent..it is a segmental process.

secondly, always try to be in a company of people. loneliness most times is the cause of masturbation, you feel the urge more when you are alone. (i am 100 % right on this one, right??). find somethig else you like doing....but believe me it is a hard task .you must be committed.

thirdly....the Internet is a very big challenge to the Masturbator, the urge comes when you check up your usual sex sites and look up those fetish images that turns you on. if you can get a Nokia Torch light phone, better. but i would advise you face it squarely, because trying to avoid the Internet will only build the curiosity and hunger again. do not stop going to those sites , view them as preamble to having sex with your girl, not for masturbation. if you try to stay away from the Internet, well, the kind of hunger and anxiety to see those pictures or videos again will be unpredictable when you finally have a phone that is Internet enabled.

Lastly, do not feel guilt when you go back to it again after some trial, as i said before, it is a very stubborn habit to stop . give your self another challenge and start all over...that will do till you are married and believe me, then you will have almost a complete control over it as long as you got your self a sexually oriented woman who can give it to you anytime...(not these pretenders roaming all over) worst thing that will happen to you is marrying a timid one. who prolly hates sex...but believe me, if you get a wife who knows what's up, your frequency will be greatly reduced.
good luck acting on these tips.
