It's like you are new in nigeria. Don't you know that after jamb, the options to choose whether to change course or institution with the payment of N2500 is always done?
I didn't know the change also involves a new university. I thought it's only change of courses only which must be within the first choice of university. How does Jamb update this for the candidate when the list has been forwarded to the university? Or there's a deadline that this can be effected before sending the final list?
EducationRe: I Need Help. (UTME: 308 Last Year And 305 Again This Year But I'm Frustrated) by Jonwesley(m): 7:24pm On May 25, 2017
I thought the choice of universities, the first choice and others and courses were part of filling the Jamb registration form. I didn't know making the choice is after the release of Jamb scores as the op intend to do. I'm not getting this clear.

It's either you don't understand or comprehend my English. I didn't criticize him, only gave him an assurance that if he didn't commit any malpractice, his results should or would be in his portal on www.jamb.org. Well I agree it may be delayed but outside anything like malpractice it will come. This is a reassurance please. Again some people were only checking their emails, while some were expecting alerts on their phones. My response was to direct him where he should check, if that was not where he had checked. Okay? Christianity EtcRe: Please How Many Times Is Mothers Day Celebrated by Jonwesley(op): 6:49pm On May 14, 2017
asuustrike2009:
Mothering Sunday is celebrated by mostly Anglicans, Presbyterian and other orthodoxs churches. It's a date set aside to honour mothers.its usually celebrated 4th Sunday in lent with it's origin in UK. Mother's Day is celebrated in May by most Pentecostal churches and other protestants aside from the above mentioned protestant churches.
Hence, my confusion is confirmed. Thanks for the clarification. Mothering Sunday and Mothers' day means same. It's always celebrated on Sunday.

I hate this word "Bleep" with a passion, never liked it and it's best not to be used. Against the ambiguity created by Americans or other areas: what the "Bleep", get the "Bleep" outta here, don't "Bleep" with me, He/she is "fuckingly" rich, etc, Nigerians or Africans generally use it to mean the act of love making, sexual intercourse or sleeping with the opposite sex. Is it difficult to say the right word, or why is this word used. It's offensive and derogatory for one to say I want to Bleep my wife I think. What's your opinion please?

Good, kindly send me a write up or proposal for inclusion in a business plan to planting two crops -soya beans and sorghum on a 160 hectares land around the middle belt of Nigeria noted for good soil. I intend to engage mechanisation, by tractors and use improved seedlings, fertilizers, insecticides and herbicides. I'm looking at using a fund provision of about #10 million at 13% maximum, with which I will purchase two tractors. I will also hire or put the tractors for rentals when not engaged. My email is jonnogidi@yahoo.com. Thanks in advance.

PropertiesRe: Please Who Can Explain This Visible Cracks On My House Wall by Jonwesley(m): 4:30pm On Apr 27, 2017
haywire07:
Vibration has effects on buildings and also the soil stability. Mining too . That's one of the reasons why houses shouldn't be situated close to rail lines or blast sites.

That aside, is there a column at the joints that are separating?
If there is none, den introduce one there by inserting reinforcement bars and cast. You can Make the columns in form a concrete fin .
Fins literarily are like columns leaning on a wall .

Also note that there is need to "anchor" your reinforcement bars in your beams or lintels before they are casted . Many ironbenders just place the bars without anchoring . Anchoring helps against separation
Yeah, the columns were tied around with the beams on the lintels and roofing levels including the corners that have the noticeable cracks. Maybe it was not enough or we ought to have added more columns at certain points.
I will follow your directive and involve an expert to make correction. I really appreciate your attention and quick response. Thanks so much please.
PropertiesRe: Please Who Can Explain This Visible Cracks On My House Wall by Jonwesley(m): 3:11pm On Apr 27, 2017
haywire07:
Most likely
1. You didn't use columns at the corners of your buildings
2. Even if you didn't use columns at the appropriate positions, you didn't use a beam to tie your walls .
Your walls are 'separating' because there is nothing to tie them together . You would have used a perimeter beam round the entire wall course either at lintel level or a roof beam .
The perimeter beam only needs to run on the exterior walls alone .

I can also suggest you use concrete Fins.
Thanks for this profound response. Actually I have seven (7) pillars in the building. It was 8 pillars earmarked but we did 7 eventually. It was tied around twice on the lintels and on the roofing levels with conrete.

The blocks are of stone dusts and strong too. At a time they was a serous blast sound from a stone/quary site, closeby like a bomb or dynamite that shook the entire neighbourhood and I suspected it may have caused the cracks on those corner angles of the building, so it's not clear what could be the reasons by my lay understanding. The blasts also come up from time to time but not all the time that the sound is heavy as that reported case, except I didn't know.

I wish you could study my scenario more and explain what could be the concerns and how i can solve or correct it.

Here's a solution that night work,

Cut open the cracks to be wide enough. Use a cutting machine to make it neat and controllable.

Fix steel reinforcement to go down to the foundation and cast the concrete mix.

If symptoms persists then there's trouble with your foundation.

I hope this helps,

Arc. Efe
Hello Arc Efe, I have similar cracks in my bungalow, but only along three corners of my walls, where the block wall join other wall at corners of the building from down to up, not directly on the face walls as this case. Kindly help explain probable cause and how to remedy it.
PropertiesRe: Please Who Can Explain This Visible Cracks On My House Wall by Jonwesley(m): 8:47am On Apr 27, 2017
haywire07:
Man, the problem is from the foundation . It won't even stop there ,u will soon notice your window and door frames are also getting slack , your ceiling or PVC or whatever will start separating from the walls and the cracks begins to appear in another part of the wall .

Solution-
Use fillers like cement mix to fill the spaces (might be temporary too)
It could be as bad as trying to introduce a reinforced free standing concrete column if the spacing gets wider

But a long lasting but time consuming solution is what we Architects or engineers call 'underpining' - in simple terms , dig the ground till under d existing foundation (I.e the initial foundation is suspended ) then fill it with concrete, wait till it sets , then cover up .

Rubbish, casting aspersions all in the name of defaming Pastor David Ibiyeomie, right?

It's just a figment of your imagination. Your story lacks proof and it's fake. In fact the devil in people have suddenly started another way of sympathizing seeking avenues to get Kemi Olunloyo out by force. This poster and the one who derided Pastor David Ibiyeomie being un-Christ like in an earlier post are his agents.

Can we have peace on Nairaland for a moment please. Kemi Olunloyo's antecedents are known every where in Naija, and how come she has suddenly become a saint?

iamadonis2:
Hello, Nairalanders,

I'm really confused on the issue of paying tithe. Its my first job at 22. I'm a very religious person and that's why I need to sample opinions if I only have to pay tithe in Church.

I know a particular guy who runs an NGO that pays the fees of school kids from poor homes. I offered to sponsor this humanitarian venture. The funds I plan to put into it will be my monthly tithe.

Simple meaning: I will not pay tithe in church. Rather I'll take the exact 10% and support this guy.

Is it proper? Should I only pay tithe in church? Please advise maturely.

Shalom!
You are not a born again christian. If you are or looking to become you won't ask this question and seeking opinion of mere mortals on spiritual matters. Religion and morality will not take you into heaven or God's kingdom, the person whom you derided by your question
