Less than 5% of the population have 500k Naira in their bank account.
To build a house in a very good spot in Nigeria, you must have cash of above 20mill.

20mill takes you 10 to 15 years to earn in Nigeria but months in some western countries.
I don’t really see the comparison or why you think I said 20mil will buy a house abroad.

The other thing is, if you have 20mill… young and educated… Japa is the biggest investment.

You can barely afford to build a house in a making sense environment, buy car, fuel the car and feed family.

That was in June 2022. This is December 2023.

In the space of a year 20 million naira went from £40k to £13k.

That's 70% of the value of the Naira lost in a year Sir.

My point is bigger than any shalaye you might think I'm making, and I'm not taking shots at you.

My advice has been consistent. Any ambitious and aspiring Nigeria should leave Nigeria as soon as he can because I can see the opportunities here.

What is coming to Nigeria is worse. Much worse. And I say that as someone who has heavy financial investments in that hell-hole. I know for a fact I can never recoup my money.

Nigeria is finished. What you're seeing is the final spasms of a dead organism.

Joe, this is the you I know being deductive and comparatively rational on certain issues like economics, relationships, and religuon. Then it comes to Nigerian sociopolitics, and you'd go full-blown fanatical defending anything APC.

If we replace the man in the illustrations by the guys above with an APC chieftain accused of acquiring properties from state funds, you'd have theoretized about how he made billions rom those same humble businesses, even as implausible as the explanations might seem.

Donjay post is accurate. #20m will do a lot for small business. Saw old classmate. Baba started his business with phone charging & black market fuel. Gradually he expanded, added phone accessories, other electronics,phone repairs. Bought more space..brought motorcycle mechanic, flood the shop with diff types of spareparts(okada)

This is a university environment. Location is very important.
We no even talk abt agriculture. Land plenty dey waste for many village...the owner go happy to rent it out for a farming season & cash. With 20m u go get enough 4 garri processing/rice farming, be it yam, cocoa yam, garden egg, pepper/tomatoess, cassava farming u go make plenty returns.


I no knw how wicked abroadians & monthly income take enter d convo. However, i be pro japa. Just last month i saw an ambulance & her escort convoy belnging 2 one of d states in SS stuck in traffic.

As someone who don work with Indian employers I know people that have no value for time you couldn't pay me enough money to work for someone who wants to use up all your time.

People think money is the most important currency but it's actually time. Any work you're doing that's not giving you time to self improve you should aggressively seek to leave for somewhere else. Whatever they're paying you you can already trust Nigeria economy to make mockery of it

Go and check people working those type of jobs. 10 years they're in the same spot like dog chasing it's tail and last last they will still fire you eventually

I could go back and forth with you on this even though this aspect has been addressed by others on this thread, but in truth, I am more primarily concerned about the FDI and other such benefits stemming from it to my own state of origin since we had a delegation there. These are the people I can hold accountable to some extent, unlike the FG which has always seemed elusive and so distant from the populace.
