JackBizzle: Please, I'm entering 2024 in peace. Just leave me alone and continue simping for Ishilove. Just look at your previous comments on this thread....
pictures please, with your moniker written on it, along with date and time. We already know you're a chicken, don't prove us right.
letstalksense: There is this lady I plan to marry, which I have made known to her already even before she travelled for her NYSC. Although she just came back from NYSC service recently. We are just discussing the way forward and on the process I was asking her about her sexual life and how recently she had sex. After insisting for her to answer. She opened up and told me she had a sexual relationship during her NYSC service. And the reason was because I didn't call her at a particular time so she thought I have find anther woman. And that was when I was having some personal challenges. According to her, they ended the sexual relationship in the camp. That she is sorry and all that. I didn't really expect that attitude from her as she seem to look responsible and Godlily. I was just disappointed even though I pretended like everything is well. And I was also thinking she had the courage to tell me the true.
Now I have to make my decision, but needs a matured advise and guidance from a mature mind please.
Do think I should continue my marriage plan with her?
Pease what do you advise I do?
Thanks in advance.
she definitely going to cheat on you if you marry her. Have that at the back of your mind.
DissTroy: It's what society has conditioned men to believe - provide and protect women and kids with no expectation of them doing same at your weakness moment.
The love and respect they have for you are only tied to what they can get from you. You'd be squeezed out of every ounce of it. Akeredolu's position as Governor guaranteed both so his health be damned.
Whatever protection and provision you give which always has you with the shorter or shortest end of the stick is fóolishness. Men continue to die avoidable deaths for needless chivalry.
It's alright to put yourself first in some situations. Women do it everyday and don't get vilified for it.
may be I have an archaic understanding of the emboldened. Still, I believe a man's job is to provide and protect his family, even if he has to lose his life. This is what a man/father is suppose to do, as long as the kids are still dependant, then he is oblige to do that. As soon as they're of age and are liable for their own action(s) to hell with it.
As for women/wives. I get what you mean. I've seen it play out with many of my friend's marriages. The man/father putting himself first. Enjoying his money alone, and the wife complaining about the man being selfish etc.
I know many women have this mentality of sitting back, letting the man toil, all in the belief that he's the man and he's suppose to provide, even if the woman is more than able to support the man, she won't. The very reason why I will never marry any woman who doesn't spend her hard earn cash on me. That's the first red flag. Dating or shagging them is entirely different if they don't spend on me.
DissTroy: His wife and kids, like Turai Yar'Adua and kids, prevented him from getting proper treatment. They prefer what his status as Governor could offer than his well-being and chose that status over his health without it.
A lesson to men. When it all comes down to it, you are nothing but a provider to the woman you labour for. Your kids are an extension of herself.
You are disposable. When you have kids with a selfish woman, every progeny she bears you would despise you or use you.
Hmm. isn't that what a man is suppose to do, provide and protect his family, even with his life?
Baddestguyp: I haven't seen Star Wars...so I don't get your reference...
What point am I missing? I said I don't see how a group of townsfolk would fight an empire that has giant spaceships that could nuke them in seconds...
Unless for some reason like the fertility of their land, the Empire relies only on ground soldiers...
And I literally said we'll see how it goes
All the same, you're missing the point.
If you've seen Rebel Moon. Then ask yourself, who is training the townfolk to fight against the same empire with heavy machines, operated by men who take orders. 👌
IngeniousLeez: Lol.... Numbers is ALWAYS important in war. Forget all those motivational messages. I don't think I've seen a war movie worth it's salt discrediting numbers with just brilliant strategy. Even Roman or Greek adaptations, based on what I've watched and a few read ups, most of their generals always loved a numerical advantage. No one likes being outnumbered and always rely on strategy....unless if maybe you're probably Spartan.
No. I haven't watched Rebel Moon yet tho downloaded already.
If you've watched Battle at Lake Changjin you'd see what huge numbers can do even in the face of brilliant strategy and overwhelming advanced weaponry. The only reason I see China winning that war was basically because of their numbers. And many of them still died because they were technologically inferior to the US.
I never said numbers isn't important. What I'm saying is strategy can't be downplayed and it can even be more important than numbers, sometimes.
The first rule of war "know your enemy". Another rule I find more intriguing than that rule is one said by Blade (Wesley Snipes) he said "when you understand the nature of a thing, you know what it's capable of". For this two reason I asked if you've watched Rebel Moon.
As regard the emboldened. Let's bring Spartacus into focus. Tell me why he defeated almost all the Roman legion sent against him, but, when he came against the Roman legion led by business man and soldier Marcus Crassus, he lost. Tell me?
I'll tell you this, without strategy, war can't be won. Atleast the Greeks conquered Troy with strategy, not numbers, no? All thanks to Odysius. Lol
IngeniousLeez: Errrmmmm...... Spartans were the greatest fighting force the world ever knew during that era. No fighting force came close to their war fighting dexterity. Only probably fellow greek tribes like Athens could slightly be as effective. The Phalanx fighting technique was renowned and adopted by many due to it's superior advantage it gave to a small fighting force. They were the crème de la crème of war machines. All their soldiers had been training for battle since they were kids, so it ain't comparable with other military. Being in a hostile environment due to Greek sister city-states ALWAYS fighting each other for decades meant the Spartan army had more than enough experience and were battle hardened.
It's a popular myth that a single Spartan was worth 10-20 men.
But true, War isn't always about numbers but strategy. But it always goes both ways. Numbers can still win you a war easily
only when you're facing idiots or people who know little or nothing about war.
Baddestguyp: Rebel Moon Part 2: The Scargiver teaser
Trailer looks good... But me wondering how a group of townfolk with 0 battle or weaponry experience led by a small group of ragtag protagonists is somehow going to defeat a large experienced army from the empire with all their weaponry and warships...
They could as well blow them out from the comfort of the sky without risking their lives...
But let's see how it plays out... Hopefully the slow mo shots are drastically reduced
GloriousGbola: In articles in my feed referencing rebel moon I keep seeing seven samurai references.
Seven samurai is the seminal movie that inspired multiple 'harassed farmers hire warriors to teach them how to fight bandits' movies.
From magnificent seven to a bugs life to episodes of the mandalorian
Now that I mention that Nigeria is actually ripe for that sort of movie since that exact scenario is playing out up north with bandits and farmers.
You're absolutely right. Nigeria is very ripe for that sort of thing. The only snag there is, the so called Samurai or Cowboys or saviors or whatever you want to call them, have been compromised.
They're feeding fat of the system and heck, they'll never take up arms against the system, rather, they'll recruit people (agberos) to protect their interest at the detriment of the system. Lol.
Actually like it. Love the character development. The dialogue isn't what I'll hold my breath on, the action is above average. Love the fact they didn't make any of the lead characters superhuman, like having them kill 100 men without getting their ass wooped.
The movie is above average. I'll rate it 7.5/10. Although it gives a very strong vibe of The Magnificent Seven. All the same, I like it. 👌
