JustMellow: Hello Bidemialade43,
The proficiency letter won't suffice. If NSE is your desire processing Stream, then either IELTS AT or GT would be sufficient.
For IELTS practice, you can self-study using YouTube to practice with LizIELTS for Writing, IELTSonline.com for Listening and Reading, E2Jay, IELTSadvantage. If you're focused, you would score 8 overall even though the required is 6 overall.
All the best By saying ieltsonline for listening, do you mean ieltsonlinetest?... |
Please can anyone suggest universities in Canada that accept 2.2 graduates. My search has been fruitless
It's rare o. However, you should be worried about your last 2 years GPA and not your final CGPA. If you have a min of 4.0/5 in each last 2 years semester, you could try your luck. I wish you God's favour |

JustMellow: Hello JosephYemsol,
Most schools use your last 2years of your GPA to assess you. It is advised that before you apply to any school, you should enquire from the school about it. Thus, your CGPA isn't that bad for a course-based master and if possible also extend your program choice to PGD/C.
Its best advise to check IRCC website to know if a prospect school is recognized by IRCC and can qualify you for a PGWP.
All the best Thank you boss... Much appreciated. I even wanna give up on Canada jare. Processing German schools now... |

drehenry: Hello guys,
Need a candid response to these questions please.
I applied for embassy interview/appointment for summer class beginning 1st April 2020 on the 16th of December 2019 under category A because I had second class upper degree (2.1) but am yet to be scheduled for an appointment :
1. Am I really under the right category with 2.1?
2. Heard embassy made some changes as regards to visa application which I can't find on their site, can someone through more light on those changes or provide a link to it on their site?
3. Is someone with 2.1 who graduated in 2016 still eligible for category A under the new changes?
4. Is it advisable to contact embassy via email or ☎ as regards to this since I was told to refrain from that from the mail I got after registration.
5. Is it also wise to cancel and reapply? If yes, how do I go about that.
6. Is this whole thing a mistake on my part as regards to the option I chose or just the way they delay?
THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR RESPONSE!! With your profile, u fall under Category B and NOT A... A 2.1 grade graduated in the year 2018 and above falls under Category A. U graduated 2016 bro. |

Naijaforeigner: The most important thing is what degree are you going for?
If you have a Bsc and then decide to spend another $10,000 on diploma or another Bsc, the visa officer will assume you are not a genuine student. It is always better to go for a degree higher than your previous one. It is not just a Canada thing, same thing applies in UK. If you decide to go for same or lower degree, you will need to give a good and convincing reason why you want to toe that path.
In some exceptional cases, some applicants have been able to convince the visa officer by applying for same or lower degree and got their permits.
When you see visa officers write "taking the applicant's plan of study into account, the applicant does not appear to be sufficiently well established that the proposed study will be a reasonable expense". It is most likely they are not convinced the student is genuine, no career progression or they feel it is a waste of money spending such huge funds on the program. This is where the applicant needs to write a good LOE to justify why they chose the program. cc plantainboy1
There are 3 major areas you need to convince the visa officer as a Canadian study permit applicant
(1) You are a genuine student - Career progression comes in. (2) You have the funds to take care of yourself and comfortable pay your fees.
(3) Home ties to your country Wooow!!!... Thanks a lot then... I guess I have to just strictly go for meng or nothing... Pls one more request, could you recommend schools for me...considering my grade.. Wanna study MENG civil eng. My.fcgpa is 3.62/5 Last 2 SEM is 4.28/5 Once again, thank you... |
