I have no problem with religion because I am a Christian myself but I think it has incited too much unnecessary fear in the minds of the average black man that they no longer think for themselves without looking for the church's opinion.

For the question u asked I'd say YES as long as u're a member. If not OK by u, then leave or change. As long as u're there u should obey. Even the bible recognizes the governing authority of the land, how much more the church.
In the case of one's personal opinion which is not out of place, it can be lodged to appropriate authority of the church. There's nothing wrong in having an observation. But until the church authority acts otherwise, u'd be going against Jesus (who owns and established the church) if u disobey. Like I said before. Be wise

Until our local churches instruct otherwise, we must submit ourselves to the standing order of the local assembly we belong to. If we disobey even when we think we are right, heaven sees it as rebellion. So be wise.

For me, I think the question should rather be "when was the last time I didn't go to church with my hard copy bible?"

We all sin every day. A child of God has a nature in him that doesn't want to sin. At conversion his nature changes. If he commits sin and dies before acknowledging his sin with the Father, it doesn't change his nature. He is still a child of God. Guess u now know where he'd end up. Knowing this helps me to live for Jesus daily. This is GOOD NEWS
