vonlogon:I don't think it's right to enforce your orientation on people. That you're moral doesn't mean you're good and that you're immoral doesn't you're bad. It is a thing of the mind. You choose who you become. |
Ballzproblemm:My thought exactly... Nigerian teenagers need mind revolution right now ![]() |
Ballzproblemm:Hmmm... you're actually right, my dear. I think it's more of mindset sort of. |

A northern group, Arewa Consultative Youth Movement, ACYM, has said the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN Governor, Mr Godwin Emefiele has “holds key to expansion and consolidation of President Mohammadu Buhari’s achievements. To this end, the northern socio-cultural organisation commended the three groups, Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria, Friends of Emefiele and Emefiele Support Group for buying the All Progressives Congress, APC presidential nomination and expression of interest forms for the CBN boss to seek presidential election under the ruling party. A statement by the president of ACYM, Kabiru Yusuf, Saturday, said the purchase of the party’s N100 million presidential nomination form for Emefiele has sparked off “wild jubilation in the Arewa House.” Recalling that the groups had on Friday, bought the form for Emefiele after contributing and paying the N100 million, Areas Consultative Youth Movement said it was excited about the development. The statement read, “We commend the groups and their members who have the foresight to purchase the form to further convince Emefiele to join the race. They have shown that they are committed to national development. “Having studied Emefiele’s performance at the apex bank in the past years, we have no doubt that he holds the key to the expansion and consolidation of the nation’s economy. “We know for a fact that his Presidency will attract good tidings to Nigeria. All those who mean well for this country must therefore join their forces to ensure that he contests. “Nigeria needs a selfless leader at this critical period of its history and we have found such attribute in Emefiele.” https://www.vanguardngr.com/2022/05/2023-emefiele-holds-key-to-expansion-of-buharis-achievements-say-arewa-youths/

ifyken:I don't think you read through the post. Point of correction, I quoted the person that gave the stat and I never said I subscribed to what she said. In fact, I remember I used alleged in one of the paragraphs to tell you it's still subject to argument and not a proven fact. Not all ladies you see here are actually public toilet as you may be insinuating. That you're bad doesn't meant others are all bad. Please let's be more concerned with realities before going into hasty generalisation. I appreciate your opinion anyway. |
Hmmm, I beg to disagree with your position. I don't it all Nigerian girls may be 1 out of 5 anyway. Kriss216: |
As I was going through my archives, I stumbled upon a post by a sex therapist, identified simply as Soul Spice, and I would like us to discuss the subject matter in this thread. According to the sex expert, "99.9% of Nigerian men are not good in bed" while also making some interesting comments and revelations about sex. Soul Spice, whose real name is Hannah Jonathan, spoke about what makes good sex, Nigerian men and sex, and the effect of intimacy gadgets in married couples’ lives. On Nigerian couples and sex, she emphasised that the problem most couples face is sexual incompatibility. “I always say this, if you’re a two minutes man, you’re perfect, you don’t have a problem. If you’re a 30 seconds man, you’re perfect, you don’t have a problem. You become imperfect when you’re dating or you’re married to a woman who wants 30 minutes.” She added, that most Nigerian men do not know the right thing to do to pleasure a woman. “Trust me, Nigerian men, 99.9, and I’m saying this as fact, 99.9 per cent are not good in bed,” she alleged. The question now is, are Nigerian men really good in bed and why are ladies easily turned off with some men? NB: This is for matured minds only, kindly avoid this thread if you are not competent enough to engage in the conversation. I'll be waiting for our responses in the comment box.

Ahead of the 2023 general elections, a lawmaker representing Iseyin/Itesiwaju/ Kajola/Iwajowa federal constituency of Oyo, Shina Peller has given his reasons for dumping the presidency for his senatorial ambition. Quest Times had earlier reported that the lawmaker during the official launch of We2geda NG and execution of the strategic partnership with Lead Generation Initiative in February, said he would not shy away from his responsibility if the system requires him to join the race come 2023. In a dramatic turn of events, Shina Peller shelved his presidential ambition despite calls by some young Nigerians who have gone as far as raising money to purchase a nomination form under the platform of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC). On the reason for taking the herculean decision, the lawmaker said the calls for him to contest the presidency will result in a “war” he cannot win while lamenting over the exorbitant price of the APC presidential form. https://www.thequesttimes.com/2023-why-i-shelved-my-presidential-ambition-shina-peller-opens-up/

Students from the various institutions of higher learning in Edo State yesterday, protested the continued strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU). The protest caused a major chaotic traffic situation in several parts of Benin City, the state capital for several hours as the students urged the federal government to intervene, vowing to continue a daily stay in the city centre until their demands are met. The students, who mobilised themselves from University of Benin (UNIBEN), Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma (AAU), Federal Polytechnic Auchi, carried placards with various inscriptions and blocked the Oba Ovonramwen Square popularly called Ring Road to express their grievances which resulted in traffic jams around the axis, including Akpakpava, mission road. Speaking on the issue, National Vice President, Special Duties of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Idiahi Thomas, faulted Nigeria’s educational sector, saying: “Our leaders have bastardised it, and, as it is, Nigerian students are at home and yet the government officials are busy purchasing forms for over N100 million, an amount presidents of other countries cannot earn constitutionally throughout their own tenure. "If the federal government does not want us to remain here, they know obviously what to do. You are taking a course of four years to five years, now they spend six to seven years. "Post Graduate students who are supposed to spend 18 months are spending two to three years and some get frustrated and abandon them.” https://www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2022/05/05/students-in-edo-protest-ASUU-strike-ask-fg-to-intervene/

Citing UN data, top independent rights experts on Wednesday said seven journalists had been killed in Ukraine while many had been facing unprecedented danger and even targeted while performing their work. The alert from UN-appointed independent rights experts, including the UN Special Rapporteur on freedom of expression, cited “numerous reports” that journalists have been “targeted”. According to the report, cited by the experts, journalists have been tortured, kidnapped, attacked and killed, or refused safe passage from cities and regions under siege. Latest UN data indicates that seven journalists have been confirmed killed in Ukraine since the Russian invasion on February 24; the last time so many media professionals lost their lives in Ukraine, was in 2014, when Russia annexed Crimea. The rights experts, in a statement, said Russia’s war against Ukraine had been made easier by the “silencing of critical voices…over a prolonged period of time’’. They pointed to the blocking of social media platforms and news websites in Russia, and the disruption of foreign media services. According to experts, Moscow’s “massive labelling” of independent media as “foreign agents” is a source of concern. “We deplore the systematic crackdown on political opponents, independent journalists and the media, human rights activists, protesters and many others opposing the Russian government’s actions. “All these measures amount to the creation of a state monopoly on information in blatant violation of Russia’s international obligations.” After condemning Russia’s alleged use of “propaganda for war” against Ukraine, the rights experts maintained that disinformation is also being spread about Ukraine in Russian State-owned media. They also rejected the European Union’s recent decision to ban two Russian media companies as “disproportionate”, adding that this move had been used “as a pretext…for (the) additional closure of independent media outlets” in Russia. “Promoting access to diverse and verifiable information, including ensuring access to free, independent and pluralistic media, is a more effective response to disinformation. “We call on the Russian government to fully implement its international human rights obligations, including by respecting, promoting and protecting the freedom to seek, receive and impart information regardless of frontiers, and by ensuring a safe working environment for independent media, journalists and civil society actors.” Irene Khan, UN Special Rapporteur for Freedom of Opinion and Expression, is a UN-appointed independent member of the UN Human Rights Council’s Special Procedures section. Special Procedures is the general name of the Council’s independent fact-finding and monitoring mechanisms that address specific country situations or thematic issues in all parts of the world. Experts work on voluntary basis as Independent Experts or Special Rapporteurs; they are not UN staff and do not receive a salary for their work. (NAN)

Concerns and misgivings are growing among Lagosians over actions of the operatives of the Nigerian Police Force who allegedly demand and collect money from illegal commercial bike operators in the State, Quest Times reports. Despite the ban on Okada and Keke operations by the state government, investigations however revealed that some officers in charge of impounding motorcycles plying through the expressway or prohibited areas in the State, allegedly collect between N11,000 and N100,000 from the operators, depending on the individual’s bargaining power. One of the operators who spoke to Quest Times reporter in-camera said he lost three motorcycles to the Lagos State Taskforce in the course of the business. “The problem in this Okada business is enormous. Police are always after us. For instance, if you carry two passengers, they (police) will hold you. Police once collected N11, 000 from me. I have lost three Okada (motorcycles) to the police even though I didn’t ply through the express,” the source told Quest Times. Another operator said he once took N60,000 to the Task Force office to recover his impounded motorcycle, accusing the agency of being unprofessional in its handling of Okada operators in the State. “Police always distort our work here (Ilupeju). Despite collecting bribes from us, they still disturb us while working. Task Force always impounds our Okada while leaving those that are plying through the express,” he alleged. When contacted to speak on the development, the Director, Public Affairs, Lagos State Taskforce, Abdulraheem Gbadeyan promised to get back to our reporter. https://www.thequesttimes.com/how-police-extort-money-from-illegal-commercial-bike-operators-in-lagos/

Founder and General Overseer of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, MFM, Dr Daniel Olukoya, has decried the rise in drug abuse and addiction among Nigerian youths. According to him, “Only God can rescue Nigerian youths from the menace of drug abuse”. Olukoya, who was represented by the Vice-Chancellor of Mountain Top University (MTU), Professor Elijah Ayolabi, said on Monday, May 2, during a summit at the church’s international headquartres in Lagos, that the menace of drug abuse was fast eating deep into the fabric of the society. “Drug abuse is not only in Nigeria; it is a global problem. It has eaten deep into every fabric of our society, and except there is divine intervention, it seems there is no hope for the generation coming. “While growing up, we were very excited to be intoxicated by the power of the Holy Spirit but today, we have some people (youths) who smoke gum to get themselves excited. They are now being intoxicated by the power of hard drug, leading to confusion everywhere. Indeed as the scripture says, “we are in the perilous times”. “I must thank the organisers for rising to the challenge of tackling this global phenomenon,” he said. He, therefore, urged parents, government agencies, and other key stakeholders to join hands together in the crusade against the menace of drug abuse which he described as a “pandemic waiting to explode”. In his remarks, Olushola Tejuosho, the coordinator of Mountain Top Rehabilitation Centre appreciated the GO for his vision for the youths while commending him for building a rehab centre to mitigate the effect of drug abuse and its effect on society. https://www.thequesttimes.com/olukoya-preaches-against-drug-addiction-rate-among-nigerian-youths/

The United States has confirmed the first known human case of H5 bird flu in a person in the western state of Colorado. The US Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said in a statement that the person who tested positive for avian influenza A (H5) virus was involved in the culling of poultry presumed to have had H5N1 bird flu. The patient reported fatigue for a few days as the only symptom and had since recovered. According to the CDC, the patient is being isolated and treated with the influenza antiviral drug oseltamivir. “This case does not change the human risk assessment for the general public, which CDC considers to be low,’’ the agency said. CDC had been monitoring for illness among people exposed to H5N1 virus-infected birds since these outbreaks were detected in U.S. wild birds and poultry in late 2021. To date, H5N1 viruses have been found in US commercial and backyard birds in 29 states and in wild birds in 34 states, according to the CDC. The agency has tracked the health of more than 2,500 people with exposure to H5N1 virus-infected birds and this is the only human case that has been found to date. https://www.thequesttimes.com/us-confirms-1st-human-case-of-h5-bird-flu-amid-covid-19-pandemic/

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, said on Thursday, that leaders and members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, will rally behind anyone that eventually emerges the party’s presidential candidate after its presidential primaries. According to him, all stakeholders in the party will support whoever God gives to the party and also work together to rescue Nigeria. The governor stated this at the Presidential Lodge of the Oyo State Government House, Agodi, Ibadan, when Akwa Ibom State governor and presidential aspirant on the platform of the PDP, Udom Emmanuel, met with party delegates from the South-West geopolitical zone. A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Makinde, Taiwo Adisa, quoted the governor as saying that the meeting was PDP’s way of strengthening internal democracy. He said that the party has left the old order whereby delegates would be ignored by aspirants who would only seek godfathers’ endorsements. The statement further indicated that the governor had earlier been screened by PDP Governorship Screening Committee for the South-West geopolitical zone. The 7-member screening committee, headed by a former Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Ahmed Makarfi, had equally screened other PDP governorship aspirants across Oyo, Ogun and Lagos states, at the South-West PDP Zonal Office, Old Bodija, Ibadan. https://www.thequesttimes.com/2023-well-support-whoever-god-gives-us-as-pdp-flagbearer-makinde/
