Founder and General Overseer of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), Prof. Daniel Olukoya, has released his prophetic outlook for the year 2026.

Olukoya, who tagged 2026 as ‘A mysterious year’, urged Nigerians during the Church’s annual crossover service, on Thursday, to be prayerful and vigilant following the prophetic outlook for the year.

Below are the prophetic outlook for 2026:

1. 2026 is a fast, strange, and troublesome year.

2. The trends of 2025 will prophetically flow into this year.

3. It's going to be a year filled with good surprises for the righteous

4. The table of evil traders within churches shall be turned upside down.

5. This is a year of strange and mysterious lifting for many believers.

6. A year of divine recompense.

7. A year heaven will encompass strong evangelists for evangelism to thrive.

8. This year will need united and intensive intercession against strange happenings, fire and explosives.

9. The mighty hand of God shall be significantly felt in many nations. Nations that practice righteousness shall be well.

10. It's a tragic year for traitors and disloyal ones.

11. A year of tragedy for unfaithful married people.

12. 2026 needs a lot of prayers. There will be a renewed strategies of the kingdom of darkness to recruit children.

13. This year, God will pass through many nations, families, churches, to reward and to judge. Nations that ignore righteousness will experience confusion.

14. This year will be a year of big trouble for the prayerless.

15. All the past losses for those people who can pray shall be mysteriously and bountifully restored.

16. This year, you will do yourself a favour by separating from evil association. It's a year that separation from evil association will yield dividends.

17. Spiritual procrastination is very dangerous this year.

Lawmaker representing Kogi Central, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduagha, has described the Senate leadership under Senate President Godswill Akpabio as the “worst in Nigeria’s history”.

This comes as security personnel on Tuesday barred the suspended senator from entering the National Assembly complex.

Addressing journalists at the entrance of the complex, Senator Natasha accused Akpabio of abusing his power by instituting an appeal against her following the decision of the Federal High Court.

According to him, 2025 is a year of power and undeniable victory (Act 1: for MFM members worldwide.

1. It is a year of divine interruption.
2. It will be the year of the rise of Joseph, Esther and Daniel that God will raise up transformative leaders.
3. A year when prayerlessness is extremely dangerous.
4. A year when prayers are needed to tackle strange economic and political turbulence.
5. A year when we need prayers to tackle massive weather turbulence like floods and all kinds of weather disturbances.
6. A year when we need to pray off strange new infirmities.
7. It is a year of restoration of opportunities for many.
8. It is a year of unlimited deliverance.
9. It is a year of strange conversions.
10. It is definitely a year of strange battles;

*The empty will want to empty the full
*The unlucky will like to terminate the lucky ones
*The dull star will attempt to eliminate the shining star

The Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway project, touted as a flagship initiative to boost Nigeria's economy and infrastructure, has devolved into a scandalous debacle. Diaspora investors, under the Association of Nigerian Diaspora Investors (ANDI), have levied damning accusations against Minister of Works, David Umahi, alleging illegal deviation and selective demolition of their properties at Okun Ajah Winhomes Estate, Lagos. This sordid affair exposes a labyrinthine web of corruption, favoritism, and blatant disregard for the law.

A Betrayal of Trust

The diaspora investors, comprising mostly Nigerians living abroad, had repatriated funds to contribute to Nigeria's economic revival. Their faith in the country's potential was palpable, as they undertook comprehensive due diligence, ensuring their properties had requisite certificates, including occupancy permits and official clearance from the coastal road right of way. However, the Ministry of Works' actions has shattered this trust, leaving investors feeling victimised and abandoned.

Corruption and Cronyism

The allegations against Minister Umahi raise pressing questions about corruption and cronyism within the Ministry of Works. Why did the minister initially approve the original alignment, only to reverse his decision later? What role did bribery play in diverting the coastal road away from other developers' properties, such as Ocean Bay estate? The selective demolition of Winhomes properties, despite having official clearance, reeks of injustice and disparity in treatment.

Ecological Concerns and Lack of Transparency

The diversion of the coastal road, without considering ecological impacts, may exacerbate erosion in the area. This lack of expert consideration further complicates the situation, highlighting the Ministry's disregard for environmental concerns. The investors' pleas for transparency and communication fell on deaf ears, as the demolition was carried out without prior engagement or legal notification.

Diaspora Disillusionment

The Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway debacle has shattered the faith of diaspora investors in Nigeria's commitment to creating a supportive environment for lawful investments. The actions of Minister Umahi and the Ministry of Works have sent a chilling message: law-abiding citizens will be sacrificed for the interests of the powerful and corrupt.

Systemic Failure

This scandal is symptomatic of a broader systemic failure. Nigeria's institutions, designed to protect citizens' rights and promote transparency, have failed. The Ministry of Works' actions demonstrate a blatant disregard for the law, while the government's inaction perpetuates impunity.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu must intervene, conducting a thorough investigation into the alleged wrongdoing, as investors wait anxiously for a resolution that not only restores their rights but also reaffirms the government's commitment to creating a supportive environment that encourages lawful investments and safeguards the interests of all citizens, both home and abroad.

Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, on Friday defended his government’s decision not to approve the use of the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium for a Labour party rally in the state.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, the Governor said the notice for approval arrived too late.

Mr Obaseki said the government received notice 24 hours to the event.

“The tracks for that stadium are still under warranty,” he said. “The pitch has to be maintained in a certain mould. So it’s not just another facility you can use without preparing.”

Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr Obaseki’s party, had used the stadium for a rally on October 22.

He said the PDP met the conditions for using the stadium.

“And the only reason why we allowed the PDP rally was because it was also used as an opportunity to commission that facility. Otherwise most other rallies are held in other large grounds around the city.”

Mr Obaseki said he was disappointed with the Labour party.

“I thought they were more serious,” he said.

‘We are on ground’
Many believe the government’s decision to refuse the stadium’s use for the Labour party was due to Mr Obaseki’s fear of Peter Obi’s rising political profile.

Mr Obi is the presidential candidate of the Labour party in the 2023 elections.

Mr Obaseki dismissed such an idea on Friday.

“They can show us virtually but not on the ground,” he laughed.

“We are on ground. We’ll see. It’s February 23rd.”

Huge turnout
Meanwhile, a large number of people showed up on Friday as Obi visited Edo state.

Mr Obi, who had been in Abia State on Thursday, said he was grateful for the reception.

“What an awesome and OBIdient crowd in Benin,” he said in a tweet. “I am deeply humbled by Edo people’s show of love and support.”

In Benin-City, Mr Obi visited the Oba of Benin.

Peoples Democratic Party senatorial candidate for Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has called on security agencies and other international observers to zoom in their searchlight into Kogi following the back and forth between her and the State Governor Yahaya Bello.

Appearing on Arise Television’s Morning Show on Friday, the cerebral lawyer denied the allegations levied against her by the Kogi State Government, accusing the Governor of masterminding the release of a Kuje Prison inmate Safiu.

When asked about her alleged involvement with the Owo massacre and Kuje Prison break attacks, she said; “I was in California because I left a day after my primary election and I only returned to Nigeria on the 20th of August.

“And at the time of these attacks [Kuje prison / Owo], Safiu was with Yahaya Bello. He was in the Government House every day.

“He was living in the house of the Chief of Staff. So if anybody should be held responsible for the Owo massacre and Kuje Prison break it should be Yahaya Bello that should have questions to answer in conjunction with the chief of staff himself because they released him from prison for God knows what.

“I even got to know that Safiu was on death row. I happened to know he was a hardened criminal on death row but Bello freed him just before the 2019 election. Why he was freed and the nature of his freedom is left for Yahaya Bello to explain.”

She added; “I’m calling on all the security agencies and other international observers, they should zoom their searchlight into Kogi and call Yahaya Bello to order. I’m surprised he is all out in such manner to imbibe fears in the mind of the people he ought to lead and govern in peace and fairness.

“Yahaya Bello seems to forget that he is the governor of Kogi and he is responsible for ensuring lives safety.”
