Of all these comments, I have not seen anyone telling me if the CJN is guilty from his response to the charges. All PDP supporters want is pity. The same pity they used to steal all the countries money. Atiku they claim will create jobs, how did he get the businesses his running? With which money and influence. I know Buhari's incapability in assignment and security decidion making in some areas but it does not mean that PDP has done well in their 16years of looting the nation's treasury. Atiku can not even address the security problems of this nation because he is a pure civilian just like Jonathan.

I just pity this country with the political games we play.

Now in 2019, they are afraid that APC wanted to outsmart and outplayed them

PoliticsRe: N45m: Group Asks Court To Stop INEC From Recognising Buhari As APC Candidate by Joyrise: 8:51am On Oct 30, 2018
PDPGuy:
A civil society group, Kingdom Human Rights Foundation International, has asked the Federal High Court in Abuja to stop the Independent National Electoral Commission from recognising, accepting or listing President Muhammadu Buhari as the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the forthcoming 2019 election.

The KHRFI, in a suit, which it filed on Monday, alleged that by virtue of section 91(9) of the Electoral Act, Buhari’s nomination as APC’s candidate is illegal, null and void for accepting a donation of N45m worth of APC’s nomination and expression of interest forms from a group named Nigerian Consolidation Ambassadors Network.

The plaintiff contended in the suit marked, FHC/ABJ/CS/1228/2018, that by virtue of section 91(9) of the Electoral Act, no individual or other entity can donate more than N1m to any candidate.

It added, however, that in violation of the said provision of the Electoral Act, Buhari on September 12, 2018 “submitted the illegally purchased presidential nomination form to the National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress”.

The plaintiff, through its lawyer, Mr. Okere Nnamdi, sued Buhari, the Office of the President, the Attorney-General of the Federation, the APC and INEC as the 1st to the 5th defendants respectively.

An affidavit filed in support stated that the APC, relying on the “illegally purchased nomination form” the APC on October 6 and 7, 2018 held a National Convention in Abuja where Buhari emerged a consensus presidential candidate of the party.

It added, “That by virtue of section 91 (9) of the Electoral Act no individual or other entity shall donate more than one million naira (N1,000,000) to any candidate.

“That the Supreme Court of Nigeria has defined election in many cases as a process that begins with nomination and selection of a candidate for election by political parties.

October 24, 2018

The United Nations has begun partial movement back to its edifice in Abuja, Nigeria, eight years after it was bombed by boko haram insurgents.

I am sure PDP lovers will not see anytging good here too all because of free money era they are waiting for. Under PDP reign, the UN office was bombed.

The UN Resident Coordinator, Edward Kallon , announced the movement to the building at the celebration of the 73rd UN Day on Wednesday in Abuja.

Mr. Kallon explained that the UN building built by the Federal Government was being occupied by the UN agencies in 2005 until the unfortunate bombing on August 26, 2011.

“The 2018 UN Day is a very important day for the UN system in Nigeria as it underscores the excellent cooperation and partnership of the UN and Nigeria over the years.

“Indeed this year’s UN Day also marks the UN family partial move back to the UN House.

“To the UN in Nigeria the UN House is a symbol of the resilience of our extraordinary cooperation and partnership with the Government and people of Nigeria,” he explained.

“The 2011 bombing of the UN house was an attack against those who devoted themselves to serving UN values,” according to Mr. Kallon.

He commended the Nigerian Government and its citizens for their commitment to rebuild the UN House.

Mr. Kallon expressed the hope that the partial movement which he said would begin with UNDP, UNICEF among others would inspire the staff to work better.

He said that the movement would help the workers build stronger partnerships and build a better future for the people of Nigeria.

“Let us recommit ourselves, while celebrating the UN Day to make the world a better place for all, where nobody will be left behind,” he said.

In a message, the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Mohammed Bello, described the event as significant as it marked the first time of gathering again at the building after the 2011 bombing of the building.

The Minister who was represented by Mr. Umar Jubril, an official of the Ministry said the reopening represented the fulfillment of efforts to rebuild but to make the UN building better.

“The UN building stands out as the symbol of our resilience and unbroken promises in addressing various challenges we are facing as a nation,” he said

Congratulating UN family on the return to the edifice, he assured them of the FCT’s commitment on security of life and property of all staff and their families and the institution

“The FCT Administration has worked to improve the security architecture in the territory to forestall reoccurrence of the last ugly incidence.”

“We have beefed up security presence in and around the premises and ensure security surveillance around the area.

“We also pledge our commitment to serve as a good host to the UN family urge your staff to feel welcome in the FCT in which the ideal,” he said.

The UN building in Abuja, Nigeria was bombed through a car bomb explosion on Friday, August 26th, 2011 which killed about 21 people and wounded 60 persons.

PoliticsRe: There’s Need To Adequately Fund NASS — Saraki, Dogara, Tambuwal by Joyrise: 6:01pm On Oct 23, 2018
[quote author=loladeji post=72342836]President of the Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki; Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, and former Speaker and Sokoto State governor, Aminu Tambuwal, have called for adequate funding of the National Assembly.
The three Nigerian leaders, who spoke at the convocation ceremony of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies, NILDS/University of Benin Post Graduate Programmes for the 2015/2016 and 2016/2017 academic sessions held at the National Assembly, yesterday, said lawmakers in the eight assembly had committed themselves to improving the lives of Nigerians.

They also harped on adequate funding of both arms of legislature because of the important role they play in nation building.
The Senate President, who is the chairman of NILD Governing Council, said core legislative, oversight and representative functions of the legislature are to contribute to the quality of governance.
He said: ‘’There is no gainsaying the fact that the core legislative, oversight and representative functions of the legislature provide an essential contribution to the quality of our democracy and governance as a whole.

“In the eighth National Assembly, the legislature has played a greater role in policy formulation and has engaged more robustly with the Executive at the various stages of policy formulation. This stems from our conviction that the task of nation-building must be a collective one, and this sometimes requires sacrifices on the part of the individual.

“Many of the legislative measures we have pursued since 2015 have been targeted at driving productivity, easing access to finance, creating jobs and improving livelihoods. Legislative proposals in this area are focused on Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, MSMEs, particularly in reducing regulatory burdens and easing access to capital, with the objective of having a large number of sustainable fast-growing small and mid-size businesses.
‘’We have also taken legislative action to tackle tax avoidance and evasion, to encourage
compliance with tax obligations by all persons.”

Also noting that the National Assembly had helped save Nigeria from collapse, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, said to attain stable, strong and effective governance in Nigeria, the National Assembly must receive priority attention in terms of capacity building.
Arguing that the legislature was the true face of democracy, Dogara said it was preferable to build healthy and strong institutions as the legislature than strong personalities.

He said: “It is our considered opinion that if there is any institution of government that should receive priority attention in terms of capacity building, it is the legislature. This is because the legislature is the true face of democracy.”
Governor of Sokoto State and a former Speaker of the House, Aminu Tambuwal, said there was an urgent need to properly fund the legislature.

He, however, noted that this might not be well received by the executive arm of government. According to him, to get better legislation churned out, the National Assembly needs funds.

PoliticsRe: Timi Frank Raises Alarm Over Plot To Kill Fayose In EFCC Custody (DETAILS) by Joyrise: 4:10pm On Oct 17, 2018
aminulive:
@POLITICSNGR

Below is a statement from the Former deputy National Publicity Secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Timi Frank on the detention of Ayodele Fayose by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC;

The immediate past Deputy National Publicity Secretary of All Progressives Congress (APC) Comrade Timi Frank, has strongly condemned the continued detention of immediate past Governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose, by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC), warning that no harm must happen to the former governor.

Frank said the alarm is necessary because of the information available to him that the agency has been instructed ‘by the powers that be’ to either poison or render the outspoken politician (Fayose) incapacitated ahead of the 2019 general elections.

In a statement released on Wednesday in Abuja, Frank wondered why somebody who voluntary released himself to the agency should be kept in custody more than 24 hours.

The former APC spokesman said that in as much as he will never support corruption, justice must be done to all and sundry.

Frank revealed that Fayose is being held by the EFCC not because of any currupt act but because of his outspokenness against the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari and the APC.

He wondered “why former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Engr. Babachir Lawal was not detain over allegation of grasscutting scandal, why EFCC refuse to invite the wife of the President Aisha Buhari over recent allegation involving his ADC, why MTN scandal involving Chief of Staff to the President is not investigated, why NNPC scandal involving the GMD Kanti Baru and why allegation of corruption against the National Chairman of APC, Adams Oshiomohle does not interest the agency, among so many others in the ruling party.

“The truth is that once you are not a member of APC, you are corrupt but once you join the evil party, your sins are forgiven,” he state.

On the plan to render Fayose incapacitated, Frank said: “A Senior staff of the agency last night had to call attention of some opposition leaders to the instruction given to the agency by the presidency to ensure that Fayose does not leave EFCC custody a healthy person.

“Another operative early this morning also informed us that a healthy Fayose who walked into headquarters of EFCC yesterday was seen vomiting this morning. I called on Nigerians to pray for Fayose because the evil plan of APC government against the PDP leader is not known yet.”

Frank, who urge the former governor not to eat or drink anything coming from the operative of EFCC, also called the attention of the international community to what he described as a selective manner in which President Buhari is fighting corruption in Nigeria.
