Page 1. This is covered in the CRS grid (not calculator) section of Post 2 (https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/eligibility/criteria-comprehensive-ranking-system/grid.html)

Spouse Canadian work experience should earn CRS points for the family (PA) according to the grid extract below if it is considered valid work experience from IRCC perspective (for what qualifies as valid WE see post 3 and 5).

When you have completed your own studies you should be able to get another 15 CRS points.

If you have TEF and IELTS and your TEF is CLB7 and above all round.....you should target the French draws too (last draw was 486) and may likely get ITA even before graduation all else being equal....

Page 1 = $$$ grin
Thank you for your help

the conditions to get points for studying in Canada is stated in the CRS calculator . Check it out under question 4b. You don’t meet it till you graduate so zero points.
Thank you. I was actually asking with regards to my husband having a full time employment while am in school. I have TEF and IELTS with over 10 years job experience.

you qualified the day you graduated. Course of study is irrelevant except you are a in one of the professional fields like medicine, law, pharmacy etc.
So I am in Canada with my spouse on student visa and he got a full-time job. Does that positively impact my application if I submit while I am still in school?

Not that kind of help 😕.

When filling the work experience section. There's a part that asks about my NOC (banking) and when I qualified to practice in this NOC.

In this case, I graduated with a degree in French and has worked in the bank ever since. In this situation, how do we respond?

Good news guys,

The High Commission through its VAC is almost through with the posting of all stamped passports and confirmed PRs (CoPR) via courier and when all is done, your PPRs will hit your email addresses.

And it’s going to be soon! Real soon!

At long last....

Da Yie!

Saw it in my group thought to share.

Today's date as submission deadline is a typo, I suspect, since they say you have 30 days to submit.....but abeg don't wait till 30 days are near o.....submit as soon as you can.

I think downloaded copies of statement should be fine, but be careful o. Some downloaded bank statements are password protected, you don't want to provide statements that they can't open. You could print and scan or ask the bank to provide and them scan. Only different I see between the two may be a bank stamp and signature or something. You can scan 2 months statements into one PDF just to break it up of one doc will be too large. I think the CSE will allow you to upload at least 6 different docs. Don't try and leave any pages out o. Just give them as is. This is AVO.

All the very best.
Thanks

Good evening, I just got an ADR from AVO this evening. My question is can I submit downloaded copies from the bank app or do I need to get hard copies and scan to upload. My 1 year statement of account from my 2 banks are really alot. Plus is it a typo error requesting for the documents today when it was sent today? Reading down also states I have 30 days from today to submit my documents. Elders please put your voice here.

Thank you. Your case has been reopened. It’s only a matter of time before you get PPR if the ADRs requested is in order. I’m confident because you have addressed the issues. In the meantime, email Ralph and raise gcms so an action on the file might be triggered. Don’t worry, PPR will come.
Hello, so we finally heard from them but unfortunately it seemed as if my letter was not read at all and a generic mail was sent insisting that my case was closed stating that if I have a new information, I should enter into the pool. I replied them back circling the part on my GCMS note written by my VO that no additional document was submitted so my case won't be reopened as the reason for my getting a new reference letter from my employer. I have been trying to send you an email but it keeps bouncing back. Needed to update you on my challenge. Hope you have finally landed Canada?

It's interesting that you're asking this question now. Ralph Goodale was an MP and Minister of Public Safety. He used to help applicants check their application status, mainly "eligibility, criminality and security" stages (He has helped me too).

I say 'was' because according to BBC, "A key minister, Ralph Goodale, lost his seat in Regina, Saskatchewan after 26 years in Parliament." huh

Anyway, there are other MPs who could help.

PS: As Justin Trudeau will have to form a Liberal minority government, we should expect little to no changes to immigration process. That's good news to those of us from these parts.

I have updated the remaining hall of fame list of Part 8 on page 1 in this part. If you got PPR in part 8 and your monikers is not on either list, let me know. I'll assume the responsibility for this part. Btw, everything happened so fast this morning grin got query on why I didnt create a new thread during the weekend, created new part asap, got banned and unbanned again. I hadn't even finished reading the last pages of part 8 grin

Welcome to this new thread. May you all get PPR in this part and may we have more PPR scripts and faster processing times by CIC. May the scores and draws be favorable too. @Mamaroon @stencil, @Adunnee @iaatmguy @yemblaze @majamisile @johnnybravo1990 @jjohndoe83 @ladywinterfell @temigee @bankyh1905 @teeielts360 @Ednut1 @Tina26 this is your part, I am so eager to update your monikers in the earliest part of this hall of fame. The wait has been long enough, I'm praying and hoping it would happen asap.

To make this easier so I don't get overwhelmed, I'll handing over the marking responsibility of marking the scripts to @Yemblaze who I strongly nominate openly, if she is willing. She has been so consistent on this thread, understands the marking style and I am very confident she will carry on the script marking tradition until she gets PPR. Hey sis, do you accept? If you do, you can choose a capable assistant whenever you can. If not, I'll nominate someone else.

May we enjoy this part. Parts 1-8, Page 1 of this part and the search bar are great resources for all kinds of questions. We have dealt with over 90% of express entry questions. Let's research first before asking questions so we don't clutter the thread. Let's reserve the pages for customized enquires and special cases.
Congratulations once again, my nerves are failing me as I anxiously wait for any form of feedback from my VO concerning my refusal. How long should I wait if I don't get any form of communication or case reopened to send another form of message?

Sorry for bugging but I am really hopeful for my PPR on this thread.

Thanks for the direction you gave me.

First, let me say a big thank you for your wishes and prayers since I first announced. I’m so overwhelmed as I type not just because of the happy shock of PPR but also because I never expected the outpouring of love. Thank you. I really appreciate you all.

Second, to those post-AOR awaiting PPR, please check your emails even as you read this script. Golden email can come at anytime like play. Only two nights ago I was so depressed at the thought of CIC, I ate only once, had a sleepless night, woke up yesterday expressing my frustration in group chats early morning until 9.05am and from nowhere, golden email came in at 9.06am. There is hope.
Wow... Congratulations dear and thank you so much for the support and alignment you gave me when I was lost. Presently checking my profile daily to see if anything has changed and scared of being refused again. I can imagine how relieve you are. If someone had told me you were waiting for your PPR I would have told them they have no idea that you are part of Canadian government immigration agent . I wish you the best and pray to share my story change here also. Congratulations once again.

So sorry about your ordeal JPJ. As a fellow FG worker, this is close to home. And I know our duties are practically the same on paper even after several promotions (until directorate level).

In view of this, you need to get a new reference letter from your place of work. I would also suggest you provide a sample for the HR person highlighting requirements from IRCC plus job responsibilities over the past years, in bullet points, regardless of under which rank you were (these should align closely with your chosen NOC), then you can mention your promotion timeline altogether in a separate paragraph or leave it out all thesame.

This will make the reference letter more logical and straight forward without altering any of your roles or promotions.

Although I think this can be attempted to reopen the previous case, I dont know if it is too late. However, you can also try using this method for the new application.

This is my opinion, you can checkout possible ways around it from others.
Thank you, God willing by Monday I should have the letter.

I am so sorry to hear the painful ordeal of your refusal and non-refund. But I really commend you on your determination and doggedness to rewrite ielts and get an invite from SINP, despite your refusal. Congratulations on the nomination. I really admire your determination.

You would need to thread carefully because SINP has a very thorough bg check on its applicants and the fact that you have been refused before will further make them more rigorously meticulous with your application before it gets to CIC who would also zoom in some more.

Without sounding harsh, the first mistake you made after the refusal was to argue with your VO on the NOC Choice when it is glaring from your reference letter that he/she was right. Your NOC choice was partially right but the duties as stated in your reference letter that you performed were insufficient for that NoC. The issue is not whether you have 10 years of experience in that Noc, the issue is whether your reference letter proved that you performed sufficient duties to claim that NOC. Also the line of argument in your appeal that you mentioned that you have a Bsc and MSc in your NOC expertise must have infuriated your VO. We all know that education is irrelevant when it comes NOC. Only work duties matter.

Your reference letter is very problematic and confusing (pardon my bluntness). The major mistake was that you lumped all different NOCs together when you were only claiming points for one NOC. No idea why you did that. Point 2 is arguably Noc 1221. Point 3 appears like Noc 1221 from your job title but the duties are closely related to HR officer NOC 1223 or 1121. Point 4, 5 and 6 are managerial Nocs so your chosen Noc 1221 does not even apply. The jobs titles of points 4,5 and 6 in your ref letter look like Noc 0114 but the duties you performed are closely related to HR manager Noc 0112. For Point 7, the title and paragraph intro looks like it’s a managerial NOC but the roles look more like an HR officer NOC 1223 or 1121 roles. Do you see the problem? You chose your NoC based on the job title but your roles show otherwise. Also the NOC you used for EE only has 3 roles @ point 2 which is why VO refused you for insufficient duties performed. And you reappealed using this same problematic reference which is why your GCMS shows what you’re seeing there. Nothing will change in your case if you don’t get a new reference letter.

Solution.

1. Raise a new CSE reappealing your current appeal since VO has not made the final decision officially to you via email on your case. (Which is also why you have not gotten a refund yet). Get a new reference letter for your 2009-2012 role which kind of aligns with Noc 1221 containing 10 duties in that Noc and attach, begging the VO that you were wrong earlier and kindly request to reconsider your case and consider your new documents that you have attached in making their final decision. Also mention that you would like to move the rest of your experiences and promotions in those other Nocs to your personal history. You can add another attachment showing a table for your new personal history. Pm me if you like me to look through the drafts. Then the VO would reconsider your new reference letter and the new personal history table to reopen your case and give you PPR. You should be happy that you’ve been waiting for months for a new appeal decision and that your GCMS revealed this to you. You should also pray that the Vo does not get back to you on his final decision via official mail before you get your new reference letter.

2. For SINP, which Noc were you nominated for? That would determine your next course of action. If it is for Noc 1221, you can’t use this current reference letter. You would need that new reference letter that you want to use for reappeal. So hurry and get that letter. If you can get it early next week, do it sharp sharp, don’t waste time.

I wish you all the best.
Thanks to everyone, please I am not yet very skillful on nairaland, I would love to send you a draft and get your input so as to get it approved and signed by the supervisor during the period in question on Monday. I have followed you and sent a message to you also.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 8 by jpj(m):
Hello fam, to cut long story short, I wrote my IELTS in 2017 without really thinking about relocating because my family was in the US at that time. Fast forward to 2018 my family returned and Nigeria didn't make sense anymore so I had to dust my IELTS and wifey started the whole work of filling forms and telling me how much we need to pay for WES evaluation, medicals etc. November 2018 we entered the express entry pool and with CRS of 456.

Within a week we got out ITA, made all our payments and submitted all the documents requested plus the NOC I picked was 1221 which falls with my over 10 year experience as a government employee where I got my reference letter.

Everything was good up until May 2019 when I received a heart breaking mail of refusal because my VO stated he is not satisfied that I have enough experience in the NOC 1221 I selected. I have a B.Sc and Masters both in Public Administration.

I felt my whole world crumbled because I had put in everything into the application. I immediately wrote a letter of appeal for reconsideration stating that I have over 10 years of experience and linking the main duties with the reference letter my employer gave to me.

After waiting for months without reply I had to request for my GCMS notes and in it I saw my VO stated that no new document was presented and my case remains closed. Prior to receiving the notes I had written a follow up letter to Ghana VO copied Ottawa office informing them I am yet to get a respond. We are still waiting.

The IELTS result I used in entering the pool expired after I submitted my ITA and so I retook the IELTS again twice and also submitted an Expression of interest to Saskatchewan express entry and was lucky enough to get an invitation to apply but the help I presently need is for someone to help me by going through my reference letter and telling me what the problem was or is with it my reference letter because I have to submit another one with my new invitation.

Lest I forget, I am yet to be refunded by IRCC and according to my GCMS notes refund has been made. I contemplated getting advice from a lawyer but for 30 minutes consultation I have to pay a minimum of $250 depending on the quality of the firm at the same time I have to pay $350 Canadian to Saskatchewan as I apply into their express entry.

[quote author=Eke40seven]Sir, don't you think it will be wise to consult with the embassy to give you a likely time frame when they can resolve the issue (I assume since it was their fault, they should be kind enough to address you), you can then take a decision on the appropriate time to book the flight, although it is also risky.
Sending passports and documents to wrong addresses I assume is a 'once-in-a-century' occurrence, an embassy for that matter!
My humble suggestion.

Thanks, but I have written to them and they apologised and said when they are in possession of the documents they would contact me and it is over 6 days today.
