goldincome: How Vehicle Tracker Works and Why you should have it installed.sorry to tell you that you are just an employed marketer, trained to say what the manufacturers want you to say but the technicality eludes you. let me come pretty hard on you a little, you said and i quote What a tracker can dohow does the tracker demobilize a car? did you bother to ask that question during your "marketing training class"? though you are not paying me but i will help you, it does that by sending a signal to the control unit of the vehicle in most cases "the brain box". now, if your tracker is connected to a brain box, the question is how? yea it doesn't use bluetooth or infra red they use a "CABLE" and that was why two vehicles from my fleet with trackers installed demobilized remotely, before we got there, the car has left without a trace on the radar. do you know why it is possible? yea!! while we demobilized it remotely the thief knew where the stup!d cable ran to the brain box so he didn't bother looking for your acclaimed carefully hidden tracker, all he did was cut the damn cable do a reset with ECM and the vehicle started again. i thought it was magic till i investigated the other fleet and saw the s!lly things you guys install as trackers. another interesting thing i noticed was that the tracker in question was keeping its GPS signals alive with back up battery store from the "brain box" lemme explain further, when you switch off your ignition and turn it back on, the vehicle clock and other little stuff like dash lite, security and other things don't go off, it means that something is powering them even after the engine is off. every GPS enabled device consumes battery, the manufacturers of that device was supposed to do a rechargeable power pack for it but mine in question was drawing power from a connection in the power zone of the brain box. so as soon as the thieves cut that cable which is "visible" unless you don't have eyes, the great difference between the new cable the guy used and that the manufactures used were so obvious and that was how the thief cut the cable, not just activating the vehicle but also cutting off power from the s!lly tracker, and that was when it disappeared from the grid. it took less than common sense and a little research to realize that the criminal was even smarter than the "bingo" that marketed that tracker. u said and i quote -A tracker can get the exact location of your vehicle and send it to your phoneyes; the tracker does that because it is a GPS enabled device, but like i explained, GPS devices consume battery so most manufacturers design it in a way that it gets its power from the brain box power supply, even if you hide the tracker which of course they don't bother looking for it, how do you conceal the cable? how do you conceal your brain box? so long as the thief knows where your brain box is, your tracker is useless and that cable once cut will shut down your tracker and in less than 10mins the car is back on the road. let me remind you here that a tracker with independent power supply is the best but you will have to be changing the batteries often, after using it for a whole year, i can bet that your driver, your mechanic, your mechanic's apprentice, the mechanic's workshop neighbors all know where it is hidden, does it still pass for hidden? you said again and i quote -With a tracker, you can listen to the voice talk within and around your vehiclethe only reason that function is possible is the connection to the control unit. the bad news is every mechanic apprentice can identify the brain box of any car he works on. you must understand at this verge that Nigeria doesn't have a responsive police, before you get access to another phone, (of course the thieves will equally steal your phone), internet access and police believe me, those hoodlums will have more than enough time to play with your vehicle abi you want to rescue the vehicle in the possession of armed robbers with juju? Mr marketer, your device is useless to modern day robbers. the best tracker is any GPS enabled device that doesn't have any contact with the brain box, it doesn't shut down the vehicle, it doesn't listen to conversations but it keeps the gps signals alive with rechargeable batteries where i can charge it and return to my hidden corner only known to me that way i can track its signals on the day of emergency, anything short of that is useless in my books dont forget to assist it with steel pedal locks simple |
i dont want to undermine the guy above who is advertising his tracker but lack of knowledge sells every jargorn in the market. The present day robbers operating in abuja, lagos and portharort are no longer those ogogoro kinda petit thieves, they are real professionals and graduates who have waiting clients in cotonou for those vehicles, for every car they wish to steal, the car is placed under surveillance for a long time before the hit is done. In a place like port harcourt due to poor road network, snatching at gun point is not usually the norm but picking it from where u parked it in nite clubs, joints, supermarkets etc. The tracker today is equally no threat to this set of sophisticated robbers because most trackers are wired to the BB (brain box) of the vehicle. By default, all the wires coming out from the BB are usually similar with a cellophane strap round it, firmly secured. Because our tracker installers lack ingenuity, they run a new wire different from the ones used in the BB by default thereby making it easy to identify. This is the bane of car trackers in Nigeria, the thieves call themselves professionals because each is able to identify the position of the BB of the car in his specialty. Once the car is snatched, they drive a reasonable distance and pull over, the specialist id's the brain box, hand held battery powered drills and screw drivers are their favorite tools, in less than 2 mins, the tracker is useless and the car is gone. Insurance on the other hand is the most legal fraud in Nigeria, if you are in doubt, visit any high court in ur jurisdiction and ask for their case files, the second highest on the list is insurance claims after land dispute. The big questions any insurance agent need to answer are these; 1 why do we need to go to court to settle our insurance claims even when our premiums are paid regularly? 2 why do we need insurance brokers to mediate between the client and the insurance company if the insurance guys re not unscrupulous? Or do we need brokers to withdraw money from the bank? 3 when you are signing an insurance agreement in Nigeria, do you see the caveat where they say "Natural disasters" are not covered by comprehensive insurance premiums? Did you see the interpretation of Natural disasters? Well, i don't think so till you have an insurance case, if your insured car is parked close to a building that eventually catches fire and it affects your vehicle, most insurance companies classify it as natural disaster, no claim. 4, no insurance company in Nigeria insures ''mob-action'' and in their agreement, there was no interpretation for that in other words, they can call it anything, eg 4 kids playing football on the street is a mob to the insurance guys cos if they burst your wind shield, you are on ur own with ur comprehensive insurance. 5 If boko haram attacks close to ur residence and the shock wave of the explosion affects your car and it is established that the attackers are more than one, insurance calls it "mob action", therefore no claim. 6 thieves without guns are "Mobs" in the Nigerian insurance books so no claim. When you use a good broker, the insurance will pay not because of you but to maintain the good will and customer base of the broker, even at that, the criteria is still terrible, for a venture that charges between 8 to 10% of your car's worth annually. From my experience so far, insurance against theft, devaluation of assets to pay lower claims has never been as reassuring as the most sought reprieve. I will advise every car owner, even with ur tracker, use steel pedal locks and anti theft alarms, there is a hand held battery powered metal cutter that can cut the locks no doubt but it takes time and very noisy, will easily attract attention and difficult to procure in Nigeria. The other option is engrave, yea people believe that they can pull out the reg. Number of their vehicle, show case it again and sell after using it for a while, well, the bad news is that the new reg process will give you a kick so engraving is an option now. Engrave not just the replaceable parts but equally on the chassis boldly, that will deter thieves alot who want to pass it on as "direct Belgium" to the dealers. |
bakila: @Dede Ojukwu Snr achieved all he did without Goverment backing abi? Yeah and his dynasty where is it. Think if snr is around he would have disownwdjnr for causing the war the made his name that of a loser not a financial Giant.he funded that war for three years with his father's money, it was an expensive gamble though, what if he won the war? can you phantom what ojukwu's dynasty would be at the moment? who owned the cash that represents the defunct biafra central bank? |
perhaps you didn't work hard enough during the pdp presidential primaries last year |
tete7000: The main reason for failed family life is with the parents. All these reason adduced above can not cause problems if parents are responsible and serve as good role models for their children. Technology like phone, tv and the rest have their advantages which have outweigh the disadvantage. Parents need only to ensure their children are brought up to appreciate the positive side of it and not ruin their lives with the technologies.don't mind the poster, failed parents want to hide behind technological advancement to shield their failure. @ cap 28 i tell you what, America is too busy to bother their head with Nigerian youths whose parents by default have "zombied" their well being through poor parenting. who are these kids that the poster is blaming DSTV and black berry for their woes? the same kids that sit tight in air conditioned cars on traffic every morning looking obese and over fed, that cannot even take proper 3 steps without staggering? armed to the teeth with different sizes of food flask even as teenagers? how do you expect such pet of a child to be useful? this is a child that most likely has failed the previous term and the parents still treat him like a king, why wont he fail again? during our time, you will only have the privilege of going to school in popsy's Peugeot 504 or mumsy's Volkswagen beetle if you make an average score of 70% and above. anything short of that is trekking for the rest of the term. i can still recall vividly when i registered for jss1 at 11yrs, i was given directions to travel to another state to register my self in my new school, i thought i was alone in the world not until i got there to see 3 of my primary school mates who equally came on their own, a hand full of other boys who came with parents, the school being so kind registered us first before the ones that came with their parents so we wont stay long in the queue on that sunny afternoon, that was our own days which i am very proud of, liken it to what is obtainable today. both parents will clear their schedule because a son of 22 years is sitting for Jamb exam, after the stup!d "write well we are with you" hugs outside, the "pet" of a son is escorted into the exam hall armed with two different status mercenaries. on the right flank is a university undergraduate while on the left is a polytechnic undergraduate after spending millions giving him different models of private tutors and cash to "sort" his way out in case of emergency. should we not be ashamed? how can such a son make it in life? how do you expect him to be useful? during our days we are told that matriculation was a step to the big world, i can recall when i gained admission into the university, my popsy bought me a gold Rolex wristwatch (still in my collection till date) and that was all, when i mentioned matriculation, he said it is easier to enter but graduating with a good grade is only worth celebrating, that he owes me convocation not matric. i accepted my faith and moved on. conversely, our present day parents are a total waste, a son that could not pass jamb on 5 sittings is escorted with a cultural dance, orchestra, fan fare to a private university where the parents spend almost a million bucks to buy admissions for them. in a very colorful ceremony, the waste of a son is deposited with his block head in the arms of the school authorities, tell me, why wont such a child join cult? knowing fully well he has the support of his parents if anything goes wrong. today, parents encourage their kids to give birth at home with impunity while still under their control, in our days, an attempt to sleep with a man under your father's roof is outright disowning let alone coming back with fruit of recklessness. parents no longer frown at having sons and daughters that were rusticated for improper conduct from the school, they go home and tell their wards that they had a problem and that is the end, parents will immediately mobilize resources to start looking for another admission. A 25 year old son (an over grown baby elephant) comes home to demand 400k for books and the modern parents will oblige without even asking questions or even making an attempt to verify the veracity of the stories sold to them,5 yrs on he comes back as a drug addict or armed robber. why wont he have a gun? when your cavalier as a parent has already paid for one. then you take him for "deliverance" in a celestial church. during our time, popsy will write to the school with his official letter head demanding for your previous year result, required text books and school fees for the next academic year from the school admin, paste it on his reading table, for every demand you make at home, there will be a cross reference of what he has with the story you are selling, God help you if there is any discrepancy.the list is endless it is a shame!! the modern parents have failed woefully. it is the senseless decisions taken by the modern parents that marooned the future of their kids, DSTV can never take the fall. |
sunto: please go to any of thire and see the phone their top staff are using i bet you it will be (IPHONE) please proof me wrong."top staff using it" has become a reason to spend my hard earned cash? no offense, re u a goat? |
@ jp phillips.. kudos to your parents "and supporting staff" on a job well done. I believe the intention of the original post was not to simply identify these distractions but to also place emphasis on the lack of balance being observed. Different reasons have been postulated here: from lack of good upbringing, poor parental supervision and decaying societal moral fibre. You attested to the fact that these games or privileges were given as presents not as a way of life as seen in some parts,....for academic brilliance. So you all, had to apply yourselves. But that attitude is slowly being eroded by a " work little or not at all but achieve great things" mentality. As identified in an earlier post, the hard skills are being thrown out with the bath water whilst the soft skills are over-celebrated. I read some comments made by the youth with awe..... Why work hard if I can get a rich man to pay for my needs and possibly my entire village!! at that. Focus is on the superficial, not on developing the innerman.. Getting latest designer clothes and Brazilian hair ... not acquiring life skills to improve employment or entrepreneurial opportunities!! Of course, I concur not everyone falls into this remit. .
i was seeing my dad twice in a whole week, little influence from mumsy cos it was a male dominated set up. All we needed to study was a competition to take first from the champion of the class whom by occupying the position has become an enemy to the lot. I have not forgotten in 1990 during our end of year, a boy was wailling because he came second with an average score of 98 percent can u beat that? He cried worse than the guy s that failed. That was the spirit in those days. The poster forgot that self control, peer influence are all functions of intelligence that needs the genes to be the deciding factor. Most parents now are very dull and i dont expect better from their kids. |
Elueme: The president of Nigeria is not the president of Ijaw tribe or south south regiion u little tribal bigot.. U can see his recent appointments, I would have been tempted to say he's serving the northern interest but it is not true.. Nigeria is one entity and must be viewed as such... These rascals had the opportunity to be included in the amnesty program 2 yrs ago but reneged cos they thought peace can never reign in the Niger delta but they were proved wrong, militancy is gone as long as GEJ is in power.. That rascal should plead not issue fake threats or else I will sort you out from the creeks myselfu dey mind the ed!ot? Tompolo will take a leave of absense from abj and feed you to the crocodiles himself. You want to disturb this sweet river again, devil fire your papa nyash useless !mbec!le. |
Vikin: Am talking of the multi- national here, as a female engineer in the oil sector, one should always know that priority is given to ladies.pay attention while reading posts. The conditions i gave above was for ''young enterprenuers'' not big corporations like schlum. Schlum can afford to hire a male for any position of a female in case of emergency, worst case scenario, they are kept on contract basis so my anology above completely absolves schlum. Your other analogy with schlum about women needs some clarification, schlum had one yoruba woman at lagos main office as HR though not the head but very influential, she seized the opportunity to recommend a lot of chicks for employment both competent and incompetent, over the years it back fired and most of them have been sacked, i cant say for sure if their termination was borne out of incompetence though because schlum has a rigorous training programme, in depatments like wireline and cementing. other factors like the removal of their HR head and client could have contributed too. Like you are aware that schlum is a contractor as such they have clients, schlum will only do wot is covered within the tenets of their contract, schlum was bringing those ladies to the field some years back but now i see just a very few unlike then. Client cannot have males in the field and contractor litters the site with women. Except you are talking about engr admin people who i know next to nothing about but the field ones are very very microscopic. |
Vikin: Where I did my INdustrial Training, after the Ap test, they needed 7 people, the seventh person had a score of 73%, and I had a score of 71%. I was given the position considering I was the only female and it was somehow taking all 7 guys ...that was in Engineering position.you seriously think i will use my organisation that i labored hard to build over the years for some feminism patronage? 'encourage women in that field indeed', you have not told us why u were hired, perhaps one of the HR guys was oogling at ur cleaveage and confused 71 with 91. Do you know the liability of having a female in a sensitive position btw the ages of 25 to 35yrs? A front desk officer pretty lady below 25yrs is ok for a serious minded enterprenuer but not a 25yr old female project planner. At 25 she is ripe for marriage and hubby stops overtime: bad for my buisness. She germinates 4kids in 5yrs that is 3.5yrs maternity leave on my profit at zero productivity. no transfer cos she needs to stay close to hubby : bad for my buisness, i need a warri branch tomorrow and i need a willing staff the next morning. Erratic towards client during menses: that i dont cope with it. A big oranisation can afford the above but not a young enterprenuer. Im gud with vibrant young guys anyday any time, then front desk for pancake bb ladies |
mrkels: Not always true. They are just hard working, and some of them push harder than you, that's why they got and you don't for now.shut up!!! |
chucky234: This post is rubbish and total waste of MB, your points are completely baseless.much as i agree with the context of ur write up but some info in ur post is misleading. Verify the year Nigeria launched its first tv station because i watched NTA in the 80's. Multichoice was not launched after 2002, it was there in the 90's with the white 1.3m dish perhaps the change to DSTV may be recent, pls verify those facts. |
NA 1, 2 and 7 be the cause of the problems today. with all the chelsea's and man u fans in nigeria, one would be fooled to believe they are been paid for the tension they put themselves through, for the reality show Na big brother every one they use now even for exam hall somebody go dey use DSTV WALKA NOW...Gusssshhh
in the early 80's i had an 'Atari' in my room a funny video game and loads of comics including the famous ''nite rider'' by late 80's the Pentium one computer became popular and one funny ms dos game came with it, by early 90's the 8bit sega was already there and the tag on it was simple, just come first in ur class and it is urs, popsy doesn't renege on promises and it didn't take more than 2 terms for the warriors in the house to smash scores to land a sega.I can still recall vividly the famous, nintendo 8bits, contra pack, mario the famous sega 16bits (the genesis), the equally popular nintendo 16bits. I could recall when we were unable to meet the tag on the 16bits which was expensive in those days, we trek from independence layout to trans ekulu just to play the soccer that came with the famous fifa 94 where our own ''Amokachi'' and ''adepoju'' had the same skill level with the Brazilian bebeto. It was fun. Still on sports, the famous 86,90 and 94 world cups were equally popular, the warriors in the house like my dad will call us have a bottle cork collection of every soul that featured in those world cups. Our table soccer chest was bigger than our reading table, it took passion , intelligence and extreme hardwork, energy and time to make that collection, my lucky maradonna and jurgeon klinsman became my favourite strikers on a standard pitch of table soccer. Two of my brothers had a knee surgery back in the days no thanks to the strainous scrapping of the knee cap while playing the 'dunga' free kicks, where the ball (casette spool) must fly over 3 players to hit the post. Yea!! it was that bad and that was the fun of childhood. Today, chelsea and Man u fans watch the games, buy jerseys and go home. During our time, we watch the world cup games, memorize every player and official with their jersey nos and play positions, go home construct every player based on ability, for example a great striker like maradonna is made with 'becks' cork (yea!! from becks beer, stronger than star or life) it is doubled and pounded together using a plug spanner or coin, the rough edges are filled then a jersey which is a floffy lucozade wrapper is worn with the inscription '10' and national flag, secured with inner cork gasket we reffer to as 'boot'. That was the ingenuity of 8yr olds of our time. The pitch is standard, fridge carton with all lines imprinted and st Louis sugar packs as goal posts, sponge for nets etc. The world of wrestling was not left out, gems like ''ultimate warrior'', ''Andrew the giant'', ''hulk hogan'','' mr perfect'' etc were not left out, we drew and made them with cartons and a single turn with a broom stick is all u need to get a pin fall, lol, it was fun. I still recall with nostalgia in the early 90's the era of the c band analogue satellite dish with 'euro 10' or 'starmax'decoders, the sleepless nites with nile sat and channel 2 waiting patiently to see shwarzneeger's 'commando ',van damme's 'rocky' and roger moore's 'james bond'. It was wild, even our mates in the village do 6 hrs of farm work daily to earn their school fees. How can i forget the tournaments and the trophies? Port harcort for instance doesn't have much football pitches except for church premises, in our own days, every street has a pitch least you can get is 'monkey post' the boys these days don't play they just watch. Other contests like table soccer championships comprising 8 schools in a neighbor hood or the table soccer world cup, every hood is equally represented, contra and mario tournament last stage winner lol, it was very exciting the competition amongst kids were fierce. The music world wasnt left out, an 'A' in biology was all you need to visit fela's shrine for the senior warriors, collections like the beetles and jackson five never left the shelves. Amidst all these distractions,(the poster may chose to call it,) no warrior took any external examination twice,(jamb and gce) when the exams still have some dignity, in an era when the buhari and idiagbon boys treat exam cheats like armed robbers. The fun was there same was the discipline and academic successes, the same way we competed with games we did with academics, the lux fiat stone of fame, chike obi mathematics award, best graduating students award were a few academic achievements that made our parents proud. Today, the warriors have metamorphosed into one cardiac surgeon, one professor of pharmacy and an oil and gas enterprenuer. If you peer into our antecedents, you would conclude from the OP's ascertion that we will all be useless. No doubt the story of our childhood was an ephemeral stage of fun not necessarily a distraction like the poster will want us to believe. dstv and blackberry can never be blamed, some dull parents equally expect their kids to be sharp. Biyi1471: Na wa o... Beaf, hotwax and oyb. Please take it easy o... Peace to you all.those guys have finished beaf, Niger delta semi illiterate |
dwas: It actually grief my soul when some people black mail good things. Im not a member of redeemed church, but i've heard the G.o says the school was primarily setup for full time pastor children whose 3 children from each pastor is entitled to scholarship from primary to tertiary institution.ok; i believe you, in the old testaments pastors are mandated to be presenting burnt offering as a means of purifying themselves, pastor says NO that old things have passed away behold all things have become new, i agreed again; pastor comes to church, he needs money he quotes Malachi 3 and Deuteronomy both old testaments to make me part with my money, give me two reasons why i shouldn't say NO; old things have passed away? |
honeric01: I don't waste time with people who pull out stats from thin-air. he made it big overnight?and your dull brain was unable to process this statement please do not misconstrue the word "overnight" in my posthire an interpreter then |
190: Do family background normally have an impact on one's relationshipguess you wont have a problem taking Clifford orji's daughter to the alter |
Billyonaire: I hope someone is not trying to sound smart by saying this known truth. Nigeria just have to shut the border, There are many lybians and egyptians in Lagos now, I cant say for other places, but most of them are managing bars and clubs and their girls flood the entire places, where do you think the weapons will end up?is it not funny that your federal government supported the west in disposing ghadaffi who was running an underground anti terrorism cartel that not even Osama could penetrate camp Ghadaffi. GEJ and his 900billion budget should get the result that Nepotism and corruption is saving for him |
mikeapollo: Was there no subsidy removal during Soludo/OBJ time? Did Soludo oppose it? Of course, he supported it, along with Okonjo Iweala, El-Rufai etci took time to read all you wrote but in the end i only saw the bold as interesting because the rest has no basis neither can you prove any except some dirt that fell off from sanusi's mouth. about the bold part of your post, the last time i saw soludo in the national assembly, he was actually lecturing them on the capital market, its only an empty head that throws tantrums in the name of "challenge". the prof went there to lecture and that is what he does best. |
peteromale: Sanusi is far better, if not for him, all most of the banks would have gone under. He exposed the sharp and dangerous practices of the banking industry that Soludo covered for so long sorry!! |
Joey82: sometimes i find it hard to blame sanusi for the job losses in banksi disagree completely please show us the books, for a bank to lose its capital it must have gone somewhere right? this is common sense, sanusi told us that it was the flamboyant life style of the excos that drained their capital base right? when asked to present evidence what did he publish? "BANK DEBTORS" who amongst them 70% were failed oil and gas exposures. who is fooling who? now a bank gives money to an investor who is an oil contractor, militants, deregulation crippled the funds, whose fault was that? (a) the banks that loaned him money (b) the borrower (c) none of the above sanusi chose (a) and till date my list of dependents has increased from 30 to 50 while prof chukwuma soludo chose (C) and quietly created an EDW for (b)'s confidence to remain in tact while (a) quietly recovers. who is the DON here? remember that EFCC has investigated the bank excos whom sanusi was convinced stashed away the bank's capital base abi? tell me the truth, was it the few billions stolen by cecilia ibru that was enough to cripple oceanic bank or the bad debts? think!! think!! think!! |
Genius100: Soludo did extremely well with the consolidation exercise. That was a big success. But he failed miserably after then by not checking corruption. Virtually all the banks cooked their books; they lent money to people and then compelled them to use it to buy bank stocks etc. Soludo did a great disservice to himself. The monumental fraud that happened under Soludo is significantly responsible for the capital market collapse and the currrent loss of jobs in the banking sector. Sanusi has simply been cleaning up Soludo's mess and he is doing a lot to fight corruption which is Nigeria's biggest problem. Sanusi for me has been more impactful because his actions are going a long way to reduce corruption; the same corruption which is responsible for virtually all Nigeria's woes.Another sanusi's victim. do your own research to know when your leaders are lying, did you study the evidences sanusi presented to buttress his claims? study it and spit on that thing sanusi |
maasoap: What I don't understand up till now was why Soludo kept quiet when infact most of the banks were operating with zero capital base under his watch due to massive corruption and bad loan. Timely intervention from Lamido really saved a lot of depositors from untimely death.you cannot bet on your quote, i have researched and i have proofs. sanusi is a liar, he tells you just anything to adopt his M0r0nic strategy. what about his subsidy lies? and you believe the banks were as dead as he presented it? how can the Don of a central bank propose economic collapse in the face of subsidy while the economy stayed afloat with partial removal? and you take a liar like that serious? read this argument and invoke the better part of your judgement. Lemme take your posts gradually so that we may appreciate these two Icons better. Soludo's banking recapitalisation was good strategy but it was shabbily implementedThe original poster admitted that the banks had issues but were merely economic beyond the control of the CBN. Each time we talk about deregulation, sanusi et al point to GSM which was one out of many deregulations that recorded partial success. The man sanusi does not tell you the truth. 70% of the SME’s that were stimulated by the soludo era almost collapsed because of deregulation but people did not know. Did you understand why the refineries were sold to Dangote at a give away price in the name of deregulation? And do you know why smart people opposed it? The revelations from the subsidy brouhaha has pointed that oil in Nigeria is expensive (of course, your honest Sanusi forgot to tell you that he paid subsidy on products from the refinery)since 2008 and there was no way Dangote could have ran that refinery like the Govt expected, that aside, Dangote’s mission was simple, buy the cheap refinery weigh his options, sell off the tangible parts, set up a logistic base for his conglomerate and that will be the end of the refinery. Some people that saw the end of that road stood up to it while people like you thought that privatization paid off. Now that we know ; can you ask dangote where he intends to buy the oil he intended to refine? At what cost? And at what pump rate? The answers will shock you. Yes, the deregulation was a govt affair but indirectly it affected the banks because deregulation increased the over head cost of struggling SME’s who took loans from the bank. Sanusi has admitted that the most people that defaultered on their loans were oil and gas exposed, at least I studied the list myself, do you know that outside deregulation in the downstream sector, that militancy contributed immensely to the collapse of those businesses, the oil contractors took loans from banks but militants couldn’t let them execute their contracts and clients never paid. How is it the fault of neither the contractors nor the banks? When they closed, the banks became stranded. This picture is commonsensical and that was what Soludo saw, what did Sanusi see? The answer will give you an insight to how both Governors reasoned. You said again and I quote Before Sanusi came in, Sprink Bank was already in crisis arising from faulty implementation of the N25 Billion recapitalization. If you think Sanusi did better with Spring bank (defunct citizenbank) than soludo then ask the shareholders. I have on record what the shareholders return on investment was with soludo and where it stands presently. Also I will attach evidence of growth projection of spring bank under soludo and what it is today, these growth projection covers 1 return on investment 2 expansion beyond the shores of Nigeria 3 employment and economic sustainability perhaps with these documents we may not need a judge. You said and I quote; Soludo's CBN failed woefully in the regulation of the banks. The Bank CEOs had full freedom to do as they liked with depositors funds in a corrupt country. Kudos to Sanusi who came in to clear the mess.Just tell me that the conjecture above is weed inspired if not “will you decide to cure your child of TB or will you rather poison the child after all TB is a killer disease? Sanusi’s witchdoctor cured The child (banks) of TB (corruption) with a poison that eventually killed the child please explain it to us how that sounds like a solution to you. You said again; Had it not been for his intervention, Banks like Afribank, PHB, Wema, Spring, Intercontinental,Union,Unity Bank would have been liquidated and the depositors, staffers as well as shareholders would have lost all, all together in terms of deposits, entitlements and investments respectively.Your statement above goes further to prove that you are a victim of Sanusi’s lies First can you present one evidence that these banks will have been liquidated if sanusi didn’t intervene? Soludo admitted that the banks were unhealthy and he created the EDW to keep customers confidence in tact while the banks recover, is that not common sense? There was corrupt practices no doubt but that was not the “killer”, the killer was deregulation and militancy not corruption which was a mere salt to an existing injury. Did you see the evidences sanusi presented to show how unhealthy the banks were? 90% were bad loans 72% of the bank debtors were exposed to failed oil and gas deals ranging from oil lifting to mergers and acquisitions. What was the biggest challenge of the oil and gas industry in the last 5yrs? Deregulation, local content and militancy? Let me explain further. Indigenization of the oil and gas sector prompted indigenous companies to buy stakes from their foreign partners as the only option to stay in business, the local banks were financially robust (thanks to soludo’s consolidation exercise) and they gave them loans others were exposures to oil lifting deals which partial deregulation put them at the brink of bankruptcy when subsidy was removed in part (diesel ). In other words, the oil and gas policies left these banks stranded which from Sanusi’s evidence has proved it. why did Sanusi focus on crime fighting which contributed less than 30 % of the problem than sympathizing with the banks whose 70% downfall were bad Govt policy? He didn’t end there, 1yr on, he vigorously started a campaign of full deregulation obviously telling the world that he did not understand what contributed to 70% failure from the evidence he presented. I bet this is not the kinda Idol you want to compare with his predecessor that created and funded the EDW for the banks. you said; You can imagine the impact that the simultaneous collapse of 10 big banks would be on the Nigerian economy which is a weak and struggling economy. You seriously believe that the incompetence of sanusi will allow him realize the above if it was real? Coming from a clown that is comfortable with 75% withdrawal of subsidy against his 100% proposal that will collapse the economy? Coming from a tabularaser that confessed paying subsidy on 15 fake vessels because customs presented fake papers to him? Coming from an ingrate that is using tax payers money to bail out boko haram victims even when state and fedral Govts have done same? Coming from a confusionist that banned ATM in public places but sanctioned POS in his cashless economic strategy? Coming from a zombie that is pushing for cashless economy at the same time planning on printing higher denomination notes? is like taking george bush serious when he said iraq has WMD ![]() if for any reason, you believe such a guy, i bet that there is absolutely nothing you will not believe including that queen Elizabeth is prime minister of Nigeria You said However, what i am not happy with is the selective partial treatment applied by the CBN in the resuscitation process of the affected banks.I call it total incompetence Both sanusi and soludo were faced with the task of reducing inflation, soludo proposed re-denomination, we kicked against it, 3yrs on Ghana adopted it and they are better off for it, what did your sanurat propose? Devaluation WTF!!!!Sanusi and soludo were faced with the challenge of reducing cost of minting money, soludo proposed polymer notes, being durable will elongate the life span of the notes, what did sanusi implement, cashless lagos (after banning ATM in public places) , dirty currencies everywhere cos he no longer mint money. mobile banking with dilapidated mobile infrastructure and killer tarrifs. Prof. chukwuma soludo is a genius while sanusi is just a rhetoric tabularaser in a bow tie. look at the way soludo merged our banks, i was almost scared people will lose jobs during that era, but reassuringly the prof. was sound on that policy, the banks became few in number with lots of branches, at the same time, weeding off old blood and re injecting fresh graduates higher that what we ever imagined in any revolution in the history of this nation.conversely, sanusi cannot even prepare a workable MOU between the banks he murdered and his fantasized foreign investors. I am disappointed that you took him serious, admit it now that we all still stand a chance, Sanusi and Madueke are doing a great disservice to this country. The last time I checked “to serve Nigeria is not by force” |
honeric01: I can't type long episodes bro but please tell me, did Dangote get this big overnight? and why dangote? is he the only one with companies in Nigeria?Dangote made it bigger than the obscure example you have in mind. yes Dangote got big over night, if he only traded with his capital abinitio without Govt concessions, he wont even smell the richest in Kano let alone Africa. A system with Nepotism can never be trusted with successful business models don't get it twisted please do not misconstrue the word "overnight" in my post. do you know what it means for only 2 or 3 people to be importing solely stock fish consumed by an over 100million population? do you know that as back as 2005 or so, dangote has already secured a near "tax free" cement imports grants and a plethora of concessions that competing with him today is almost impossible? we are talking about someone whose political apparatchik has carved a whole sector for him to monopolize in a population of over 167 million people damn!!!!! |
honeric01: The banks were employing people they never needed in the first place, hence the reason for the sacking.. if you are under producing or under-servicing, you won't dare sack. only when you have MORE staffs than production/output that you think of sacking.. simple! And you don't think that if the businesses were robust more departments/branches will be created that will most likely absorb the redundant ones, the big question is this; why is the business not expanding? i bet the answer lies with our Economic magician retadeen lamido sanurat, because the last time i checked, the defunct intercontinental bank (as murdered by sanusi) had its branches doubled during the era of his predecessor. |
