[quote author=xplicit_me]I believe UNIZIK admissions is fully based on merit. Am a Living testimony. My dad cldnt believe in 2006 that I'd just walk into the cyber cafe and come out and tell him I'd gained admission... He was expectin that with d good score I had, we wld still need follow-up with calls and visits to ''I.M'' personalities in the institution, Like he had to, for my elder brother n sistaz admissions to other Universities in the East.
He actually had to send me to awka to confirm that it was authentic and not a fluke.
Mind you, my dad wldnt pay a dime for admission because he strongly believes in ryt moral and his children potentials which he had help develop.

Six years down memory lane in UNIZIK College of Medicine, I must confess, to survive you have to be Up and doing cos if U dnt keep up academically, U'd b kicked out. Politics › Re: FG To Borrow N633bn To Fund 2013 Deficit by jpphilips(m): 5:07pm On Jul 18, 2012
dedeike: The problem is that most people on Nairaland do not have the patience to read thru a post before making comments.
They come with a made up mind that nothing good will happen, so they just take a glance at the headline and jump into a spree of insults and abuses.

Any objective mind who reads thru will first of all acknowledge that the FG has started early enough to make projections for the 2013 budget. It is a welcome development given our history of carelessness and late planning.

Then to the crux of the matter. The minister says our domestic debt profile has increased and we may record a huge budget deficit that may require borrowing for 2013 not 2012.
She went further to explain that the huge debt profile was due to increasing wage bil since 2005. We all know that GEJ has not been president since 20005 so it will be most unfair to isolate the president for bashing.

On the other hand, she revealed that there was over 200% increase recently. The question then is, why this astronomical rise in debt profile?
We would all recall that president GEJ increased minimum wage from N8,000 to N18,500. Even corpers now earn N19,000 monthly. All these increments will definitely increase our wage bill.
It's not rocket science to understand this.
,
before you sound like reno omokri aka brain dead beaf, please what percentage of the recurrent expenditure is the wage bill?

Billygoat, i know its a proposal like this one i highlighted before:

The MTEF document also showed that the Federal Government would spend N1.69tn on personnel as against the N1.65tn it proposed on the same item in 2012.

Does this makes sense especially from a govt that tells us recurrent expenditure will constantly go down. BillyGoat, use ur brain, if at al u av one.
more militants have been added to the recurrent expenditure of the Govt, so what do u expect? lol cant u see how happy beaf is lately?

by the time they add boko haram, recurrent expenditiure will be 95% and a population of over 167 million will depend on only 5% revenue per annum.

i picked a total of 6 big suitcases yesterday..on getting home..i decided to open the suitcases and to my chagrin i saw 2 big suitcases filled with just baby footwear...foot wears with price tags ranging from 70dollars to 300dollars..infact the total money she spent on clothes, toys and shoes she bought for the baby is in the range of 1-2m..i was livid with anger..how can someone spend that kind of money on a baby?? shoes that the child will outgrow in a few years time...the first time i wore a 15k shoe was during my NYSC...i am just maad that my wife is not frugal with money..things are not as rosy as it seems..i called her to complain and all she could say was that she is spending the money on her son...it is even heartbreaking that she sees nothing wrong in spending such moni on a baby..

i honestly do not want to bring up my child in such manner...a child needs to know that things are hard..and am just patiently waiting for her to come back..this nonsense just have to stop.

Politics › Has Ncc Been Compromised? by jpphilips(op):
I have been monitoring closely the events in the telecommunications sector as the most touted successful privatization exercise in the country.

As the euphoria of telephony and mobile internet grew louder, unscrupulous business strategies from the service providers never grew unnoticed, from per minute billing to expensive sim cards to imported recharge cards to poor network quality, hidden charges, dubious promos etc

the NCC on their own part just like any other failed govt agency has done little or nothing to save Nigerians from the hands of these oligarchs.

Had competition not played a fundamental economic role in the telecommunication market, i doubt if we will be singing this same song of success.

Today, the dubious business attitude has taken a new dimension but as expected, NCC in their usual nonchalance has been blinded by the most obvious.

i could remember vividly, when 2g was rolled out in the middle of last decade, MTN sold sendo phones with customized mtn sim cards while Glo was busy with their Alcatel phones.
the big question is this;

if sendo mtn users then were making calls cheaper than other phone users simply because MTN and glo have retail rights to those sendo and Alcatel phones, would it be right?

unfortunately, that same question still applies to our present day Blackberry vs other phone users on the 3/3.5g network.

MTN,GLO and Airtel all have retail rights to blackberry phones which is not out of the ordinary but what should baffle any discerning mind is;

why is there disparity in internet bundle on 3g networks? A 1,500 naira bundle will get almost 3gig of data monthly with MTN blackberry while other phones get as little as 250mb monthly for 1,300naira, some network providers push it to unlimited bundles for their retail phone makes and NCC is mute about this? suffice to say that this discrepancy was borne out of the need for consumers to patronize their retail phones.

i believe the 3g license must have come with terms and conditions, no doubt discrepancies in bundle tariff as it favors network retailed phones was not one of it.

should NCC not take this up with network providers?

how would we feel if sendo users during the 2g era were making cheaper calls than our favorite 2g Nokia and sony ericsson phones back in the days, all in a bid to coerce subscribers to pick up their retail brands?

i need your sincere opinions;

goldincome: @jp philips

I don't want to quote your post because it will be occupy space here.
I can understand the point where you are coming from because you have been a victim.
Most of the points that you raised are very important and I that you for that.

Let me explain some things here.

I am not a marketer and i did not advertise in my post. Did you see any phone number or other advertising gimmick.
I have been in this business for years and I make bold to say that I know a bit more about vehicle trackers.

Straight to the things you raised because it will help others to learn here.
The trackers i know and use, does not use brain box and I will not explain the technicalities here because it is a security issue but i will explain salient things about it.

If a good tracker is installed in your vehicles, it will have a backup battery that will last from 7 to 60 days even when the battery of the vehicle is cut off.

If a thief managed to bypass the tracker and start the vehicle - which is possible for experienced thieves that are auto technician, you will still be able to track the car even if the power that supplies the tracker is cut off.
Mind you that the tracker will alert you once the power of the car that supply power to it is cut off.

The wiring of the tracker is not always visible and it will take you time to detect the wiring of the tracker.
Also there is no light that flashes, even if you have one that flashes, it is for your installer to know how to hide the flash light.

The best tracker is a tracker that has a backup up between 30 to 60 days. It is not good to have a tracker you can be touching and be changing the battery. If a vehicle tracker and not ordinary tracker cannot stop your car then it is not a good vehicle tracker. Listening to the voice is good if you like it.

Mind you, most thieves are just after the car and if the car stops, and they have time, they will try to start it or bypass the security which will take them time and if they managed to do that successfully, you will still be able to track your car and recover it otherwise, they will abandon the car and look for another one.

I have several vehicles that my company have recovered.
In as much as we agree that no system is totally perfect but i will advice you not to drive your car until you have a vehicle tracker installed otherwise you will regret it.

If you have any more question, I will be willing to answer here
i really didnt want to take you serious but for the benefit of your victims i will reply your sermon.

1 you claim ur tracker has contact with brain box though the cables are well concealed? how exactly? have you seen a brain box before?

You insulted my intelligence, it took me 7.5 mins to identify those cables on 26 fleet of mine so wot re u preaching?
I applied common sense, the flex cable they used was different from the one that exited the BB of the vehicle, once u spot the brain box voila!!! Tracker is off.
''show me ur brain box and i will show you ur tracker''

i held my logistics supervisor responsible for the loss of two vehicles in his fleet, he has a budget to do whatever is necessary to protect his vehicles, on a second thought to firing him, i investigated to know if exactly it was his fault but he merely trusted tracker marketers like u who know next to nothing how their device work, that common sense is what saved his job.

2 you claimed you have a tracker with battery life 7 to 60 days after power has been cut from the vehicle?

Your point is silly, the tracker is still useless, if it takes power from my car, where exactly is that?
bB power pack? Alternator? Battery head? Wherever it is, i can spot it in 3mins

4 you claimed it sends text message on power breach, lol! You are not even smart to know that the sim card you slot into the tracker is what supports that, thieves dont steal cars to be enjoying it in a city, they use very remote routes where most likely will have network issues, my logistics man recieved the s!lly text 52mins after the breach.

5 if you have an independent power while connected to the brain box who charges or replaces the battery? Your company which im forever at ur mercy or my mechanic with apprentices and standby customers, can u in good faith and conscience claim that the device is still hidden?

Please market your products but dont insult my head.
Car Talk › Re: Ever Had Your Car Stolen Before? Advice Others. by jpphilips(m): 9:35am On Jul 14, 2012
Pesuzok: Tramigo is the answer. It has an inbuilt rechargeable battery that last for 2weeks on sleep mode and you can recharge it in your house. The device sends you an sms when the battery is low. Just place the device in a hidden place in you car and you can track your car, but cannot stop it. Tramigo has inbuilt landmark of nigeria, so it sends alert letting you know the name of the road or street you car is.
bingo!!!!!!!

That is the stuff im looking for how do i contact you asap?
Car Talk › Re: Ever Had Your Car Stolen Before? Advice Others. by jpphilips(m): 9:31am On Jul 14, 2012
Pesuzok: Sorry for my duplicating post earlier. Connecting and wiring the tracker to the BB is just to shut down the car when you send an sms. For tramigo tracker, you can decide not to wire it or connect it to the car BB. Just place the device anywhere in your car and you can track ur car with ur phone. You can bring out the device from the car to recharge in the house
ok!! That is the tracker ive been looking for, no contact with brain box and can be charged at home, where can i get it?

laoma15: I had my first car stolen in 2000(Toyota Carrina 11) while attending a sunday morning service in far away Kano.
It was a terrible experience. When I came out from the church, I was looking under another car that had parked exactly where mine had been parked some hours before.

I reported the matter to the Police and parted with some money but no show.

After three weeks of rigorous search, I got a call from Lagos from a family friend that he saw a car that looks like my car.
The car was put on display for sale.
He requested that I send them the car chassis number and the Engine number.
Not quite long when I got a call back that the chassis number was the same but they couldnt search the Engine number because that was a bit hidden.
Had to fly down to Lagos for identification.
When I got to the spot, I hardly could recognise the car cos the sellers had turned it to ''Tokunbo" and got all documents perfected.
I play a role of a buyer and carefully examined the documents and other features to convince myself that it was actaully my car.

I eventually recovered my car.

It was a big testimony.

I will advise that people inscribe the registration number on the glasses and other strategic places to discourage them atleast from reselling.
yea, writting numbers is the engraving i talked about. Very effective not just on wind shield but on the chasis too, the car cannever be resold as direct belgium, never!!!

Thieves sigh once they sight such vehicles, in my case, not even the alloy rims and compliments are spared
