Carshopper: nope ...ur car had issues more often than u claim to reveal...
u fail to see the hidden discussion ... who told u the client wasn't advised on what to pay...
2. after inspection done and assessment given it's left to client to make a calculated purchase based on assessment given and that is what is paid for..
3. right to help in negotiations is voluntary NOT Compulsory.
remember this discussion we had on Scot Kia rio Your chat screen shots proof nothing, it's no evidence, it's just a hear say. From someone that wasn't part of the transaction, Don't divert our attention. Scott might not actually know you cheated him, base on our experience we know. Well done sir |

GAZZUZZ: I have gone thru your threads, you have no integrity, you sell a car and after that you delete your numbers and the pictures so you cannot be discovered. You are very stupid boy. Car sold, why will I keep pictures? Why will I keep my number online for spam callers, when I have nothing more to sell. Don't divert our attention, talk about how you cheated the poor driver that hustle so hard to raise 780k for a car. Criminal mechanic, I have always said it all mechanics are the same. |

darmilolah: On the low..... You helped me to negitiate and we got a good deal and I spent less than 300k to refurbish it.
I took my car to Gazzus for review afterwards. I got a good review. The only thing Gazzuss said was he can hear a rattling sound from the engine and that I should not go above 100km. I went back to my mechanic. My mechanic set the taper valve and we change the adjuster shock absorber. This is the 17th months. Car still run on the platform. I have not change the engine and gear nor work on the AC except changing of relay.
My civic cover average of 250km daily and I do over 100km on high way as against Oracle advice that I shouldn't go above 100km.
What I have been saying is if you are charging 20k. Atleast, help your client negotiate. GAZZUZZ charge 20k to inspect car and still went ahead to collect another money from the seller, then deceive the buyer into buying a dead car. Then come to nairaland to form oracle. In as much as we are not always on the same page, I want to thank you for coming out to expose this thief mechanic. He has frustrated a hardworking driver from owning his own car. |

Oluwabengz: You guyz are not asking the right question(s) here. I think the question should be; did GAZZUZZ told the buyer the condition of the car? I mean, did GAZZUZZ told Scott that the car has a bad engine and gear? If he did, his job has been done, if he didn't he should be blamed and should also refund the guy's 20k he collected. No one will buy Kia rio 780k when informed the engine and gear is bad. Scot was deceive into buying that car. Kia rio with dead engine and gear should not be more than 300k. |

A decision I and others advised against, but pikin were go stubborn go stubborn And your defense is scot drove on your fleet and you advise him against getting his own car. Carshopper: Nope... I stand to correct this because I was involved in the purchase process. Scot was told to overhaul Engine, transmission and AC (he didn't have d finance power)... Or Use/manage the car for say 1-2months and overhaul if finances isn't available... There are records to proof this. Please never say things u were not involved in the process or listen to only the one with the pains.
The ride was negotiated about 780k by Scot due to the fact the transmission was noted to be 'slipping' and other works was due. They have come to defend their master, dead Kia rio for 780k. Pls show us ur records, we don't want hear say. |

darmilolah: Gazzuss forget jare. With the pre purchase inspection you did for Scott. He still bought a dead car with no engine and gear at very expensive price. Probably the seller bribed GAZZUZZ, so he gain in both ways. Don't trust any mechanic take 2 or 3 more mechanic to go for inspection, b4 concluding. Most car sellers negotiate with mechanics behind your back. |

dru23: I agree with you about 80% ... I buy most of my parts for my uber cars on ebay.. When u now compare buying it from ladipo market... now the China part..most parts that come from China into the USA market, are better regulated than other African markets ...but you can't blame the Chinese people... it is what you ask the Chinese is what they will make .....can you imagine I bought a pair of shocks for $60 for my uber cars ...1 year plus the shock is doing great no complain from my drivers... but am sure those shocks might not give a very smooth ride. But for uber and factor in bad Nigerian road.. It is a win win for me The tokunbo shocks we normally get from ladipo is either from America or Malaysia/Singapore Those shocks are very good. They last more than one year. I actually prefer tokunbo than the new parts. If you know your way, you will understand that corolla is one of the cheapest car to maintain. |

MobilityExpress: You claim Kia Rio is worth 250k but you said your girlfriend bought her own Kia Rio for 800k. Why? Why did she pay so much if Kia Rio has no value; why didn’t she pay 250k for it? At that time she join Uber, only 2008 upward cars are required. So corolla 2008 is above 3m, so she stumble on this Kia rio of 800k and she was like in 4months I will recover my money. Rather in 2months she keep putting in money until she is frustrated and sell it off. There are people here who don't know about cars, they can easily be deceive into paying much higher. When ogunvic introduce 407 to people, alot of people bought 407 for 1.2/1.4. So when you start singing praise of Kia rio people might pay that guy 700k thinking is good a buy. But I can bet you they will surely regret. |

thebigkendo: Resale value is just perception..if all Kia rio owners in Nigeria decide their Kia rio's are worth more value & refuse to sell cheap.. What do you think will happen to the price?
Resale value!! It's all in our head.. Example I would never buy a naija used 2005 corolla for 1m, no matter how clean.. It's not worth that value to me. Somebody like you will probably jump at same corolla for 1.4m and feel it was a great bargain. Market is control by demand. Not by meeting and agreeing. Despite plenty of corolla in Lagos resell value remain high. Few Kia rio put for sale what you get is 250k. While corolla you beg with 1.2 nobody listen to you. |

TheCar: Except we are taking about using aftermarket or tokunbo part for repairs, No car is cheap to maintain in Nigeria.
A Toyota Corolla Alternator OEM cost NGN 100,000.00, a second-hand or tokunbo goes for about 15k I believe.
A Toyota Corolla Front Shock Absorber (Tokico) cost NGN45,000
A Toyota Corolla Rear Shock Absorber (Tokico) cost NGN 40,000
I would definitely not buy a Kia Rio (Personal Opinion) ahead of a Toyota Corolla.
Anyday, Anywhere, Anyplace, A Toyota Corolla is way ahead of a KIA RIO (personal opinion).
I don't even understand the basis of these comparison between a KIA RIO and Toyota Corolla.
Do a KIA RIO command a good resale value compared to a Toyota Corolla. Well, I maintain my corolla with grade a tokunbo parts. Alternator you listed is 10k tokunbo, to change the kitting less than 1500, it's the kitting that normally spoil Front shock is 4k each without spring, the spring will be there forever hardly spoil. Back shock 3500 each without spring. Some stuff I buy tokunbo some new one. Brake pad corolla wholesale in trade fair is 1800, retail outlet some sell 2500/3000 Stabilizer leakage the 2pcs is 1200 whole sale price in trade fair. Retail sale for 1800/2000 This are common things that spoils in corolla. The spare parts are very cheap forget mechanic quotation. Forget this one na original this one na fake all parts comes from China, some repackage to sell it expensive. |

Apart from buying corolla engine that cost 140k or complete gear box that cost 60k tell me other stuff in corolla that is expensive, the major thing that spoils in corolla. if all of them spoil you won't spend 50k to fix it. oluwaseunla: @mobilityexpress, it is the Kia Rio's from Dana motors that have expensive engines. The ones brought in from North America actually have cheaper engines.
Kia Rio is very rugged. People should learn to accept other people's preferences.
The guy that talked about a Kia Rio of 800k bought a lemon. There is no such thing as lemon corolla with 50k you can fix all your corolla problems. But Kia rio you will struggle forever even after fixing. A car that won't notify you via dashboard your car is over heating what type of car is that? |

Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by jpworld(m): 11:05am On Nov 12, 2018 |
MobilityExpress: This is a rubbish statement! I own a Kia Rio, 2008 hatchback model, bought brand new from Dana in November 2011, and up till today, no issues whatsoever. Other than normal routine service of oil change, brake pads change, AC gas refill, I have never done any repairs on the car. In fact, I just replaced the fan / timing belt early October 2018, that’s like almost 7 years. Show me how many cars that their belts are that durable? And it was a simple fix for the mechanic. As for fuel efficiency that people usually hype corollas for, Kia Rio is even more fuel efficient. And i’m speaking from 1st hand angle, because I use both cars. There was a time in 2016, my 2004 Ford Transit van, high roof, long wheel base, with about 5000+ GVWR broke down around Ogudu, towing vans were calling high price, hmm, I just called for my Kia Rio and I towed the Ford from Ogudu to bariga and my Kia engine was up to the task. I towed another bigger car with it this year from Lekki to mainland, and no problems whatsoever. As for me, let me speak for myself, my Kia has been a very reliable workhorse. 7 years, I have never topped the coolant, no leaks in the cooling system. I only replace coolant after 3 years as a general protocol. When I bought the car, it had an electric temp gauge, you won’t see any reading at all, just the temp symbol and I wasn’t comfortable with that. I like to look at the temp reading, so that I can know when and if the car is about to overheat. But in 7 years, I have never had any overheating, not even once. My radiator fans have never failed for one day in 7 years, and it’s an intermittent fan, shuts on and off, low speed, high speed etc. Never replaced thermostat in 7 years, never replaced any fuse or relays in seven years, only changed the rear light bulbs. For 7 years, my headlights are still working well, no burn outs, even the fog light still works (unlike Corollas that die out easy, barely 2 months, my corolla fog light and full beam light is dead because i entered some flooded areas, but my Rio has been in more flood than I can count). In 7 years, all my dashboard instrument panel set still works fine, car stereo still works fine, although the CD player misbehaves sometimes. Bottom line is, among all my cars and cars that i’ve used, only the Kia Rio has lasted 7 years straight without giving me any major problems. So i’m wondering how you came up with this type of false premise about Kia Rio. Kia Rio is a car I would recommend to anybody, and I hardly recommend any car brand. If you maintain it well and drive it well, it will serve you. But if you fire down regularly anyhow, flooring your pedal to be competing with V6 and V8’s on the road, as if the Kia Rio is a Ferrari, then you will have yourself to blame. As for Uber/Taxify the only reason i chose Corolla over the Rio was because when I asked about it, the corolla engine was far cheaper to buy. But Kia is in the same league with Hyundai: costly engine. And for a car that will be driven all day, all week, all year long, better to use a car whose engine can be easily replaced without cutting my head off. Anyway, this your claim about Kia being a problematic car is false as far as I’m concerned. Like Trump would say - #FAKENEWS
PS: here’s another spoiler, since January 2018, i’ve been parking my Kia Rio on the street and this is November 2018, no single case of theft or vandalism . And mind you, this is an open community on the mainland with bad boys all around, not like a restricted estate or exclusive court. Sometimes the car might not even move in 2 weeks, other than dust, nobody has interest in touching it, no missing side mirror glass or missing emblem, or missing brainbox. But my corolla, ehn, who born me well, after all the stories that touch i’ve heard online and offline? It seems you are the owner of Kia rio put up for sale? Or you want to sell your Kia rio. You bought a car brand new and use it to visit your church and other social gathering and you want to use it to compare Uber work. The only advantage Kia rio has is your last statement free from vandalism. |
