Stolen: WHETHER DEM DEY RECLAIM OR RETAIN, THE PROPER THING IS TO FIRST REHOUSE THOSE PEOPLE ON LAND BEFORE DEMOLITION.
OTHERWISE LEAVE THEM WHERE THEY ARE, SO U DONT CAUSE PROBLEM OF THIEF AND STREET BURNING OF DESPERATE HUMANS, THEY ARE ALREADY IN A BAD SITUATION, DONT MAKE IT WORST.
DEMON! I hope they listen to you. In these situations, the poor folk are always treated as disposable things. Lagos does not have a good track record on the matter. |

AerialMapper: E reach food items, they closed the borders... Something something encourage local production...
Now we have local production of petroleum products that can meet local demand and yet we still issue import licenses for them!
If you think this is about satisfying local consumption and bridging shortfall... You are deluded It is. We have a single dominant player who can single-handedly influence prices, so effort must be made to keep him in check. They banned cement importation for something something encourage local production, look where we are. If you try it with PMS, you're giving Dangote carte blanche to set any price he likes. |

Qpetz: The more you look, the less you see.. Nothing to see. There's no country that does not import. Even Saudi Arabia is currently importing jet fuel from Dangote. It's how you stabilize prices and keep things under control. Yes, we should constantly work to reduce, possibly end, imports, but it should not be stopped by fiat. Once you start closing borders and banning imports, the consumer suffers. That's why we are where we are with CEMENT. |

The US support is fading daily, this fallout is monumental, and at this ‘find out’ stage, Zelensky’s political survival is highly uncertain. You think it's about Zelensky. Hmm. |

Putin did the invasion, the war was and is being fought in Ukrainian territory yet making the young man look like his the one at fault. I'm not supporting Trump on this.
A peace deal should also favour Ukraine. U can't draft a one sided peace deal and expect Zelensky to rush and grab it wit joy. When did Zelensky apply to join Nato? |

What do you think? Can you eat your white rice with Egusi soup?
Picture source: Google Sure, why not? Egusi is a standard sauce for white rice. I'd advise you fry it. I'm not a fan of the normal stew anyway, so it's usually either afo okwu, egg-tomato sauce or egusi soup/stew. |

All the nations and presidents you mentioned knew what to do or say at the time instead of begging Russia not to attack Ukraine but they were playing politics. Today, Ukraine becoming a NATO member is off the table, something that was close to being real before. And yeah, I know what you are going to say next. Ok, respond. Or is that just supposed to prevent me from saying it because you have no response to it? |

When Putin started to mass troops on the Ukrainian border, Biden repeatedly told me NOT to attack Ukraine. He denied that he was planning an attack. European leaders begged him not to. Ukraine begged. Macron personally flew to Moscow. He kept insisting, no attack. At what point did Western leaders assure Ukraine of their support and egg him on in the time leading up to the special military operation? |

blaise26abj: All of this na strategy . Trump is no fool . He knows that US has been funding NATO and other alliances more than other countries that benefit more . He is threatening to leave to force them to do more . Just watch as European countries rush to preserve the alliance and give concessions . Most of thir economies are struggling . They will not want to burden themselves with running NATO without US leadership.
Can anyone here tell me why russia has been labelled a bad country ? Is it the conditioning we have received by watching too many American movies that portray them as evil ? Besides they have not done 1/10th of what US has done in the world in terms of wars and toppling governments . So can someone remind me why they are bad ? Any country has benefited more from NATO than the US? Which country? How? You don't know why people perceive Russia as rogue/bad? Hmm. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Elon Musk Publicly Supports Call For US To Exit NATO, UN by JuanDeDios: 3:47pm On Mar 02, 2025 |
madridguy: 48 laws of power is playing seriously here.
Majority of the European countries, relied too much on their friend " USA ". I think it is time rich countries like Germany go back to their drawing board. Germany and Japan, given their long history of very aggressive behaviour, were basically neutered after WW2, and the world has been better for it. They're currently under the Nuclear Umbrella. Other countries (e.g., Australia, Canada, S Korea and NZ) have also not pursued nuclear weapons because they're covered by the Umbrella. If the US becomes isolationist and the likes of Germany and Japan become armed again, it's not a good thing for the world. |

From my house to my bank ATM is 600 naira keke. So to withdraw 20k, I will spend 700naira, how is it cheaper for me in particular?. N these banks still deduct numerous charges already ooo. Fair point. But that depends on where you live or work. |

Uche559: Just when u r celebrating reduction in food price, they hit u with another one again n d cycle continues. But they say things r getting better. They will give u with right hand n still collect with left hand again. N100 for 20k is far cheaper than POS withdrawal naa. If they start making cash available at the ATMs, which I believe is the objective, this works better for the public. |

nurez305: it was stated that 100 naira for every 20k withdrawal and 100 naira on any amount after the 20k withdrawal. I guess you won't be charged for 5k until your withdrawal enter 20k "CBN further clarified that Nigerians withdrawing less than N20,000 from another bank’s ATM will still be charged N100 per transaction." So, unless you're a Ghanaian, you will pay that N100 for 5k. Or 1k. |
