Romance › Re: Should I Forgive Her Or I Should Pay Her Back In Her Own Coin by JuanDeDios: 10:21am On Feb 21, 2025 |
wayray: I met a girl during a short visit to Ibadan at my uncle's place. We exchanged numbers and we got talking online. She happens to be a fresh graduate serving.
During one of our usual gist, she said since I'm based in Lagos, I should assist her to look for job by sharing her cv which I obliged. We fixed a date to lash ourselves as Omo ogbon that I am. But my stay got cut short due to urgent stuff at my workplace. ( I forgot to add that I was on leave during this visit) So I left but we still continued gisting and had the date rescheduled for Lagos at my place. When the date for the meeting came, this babe demanded for transport fare which I gave without thinking twice. But surprisingly this babe blocked me immediately after receiving the fund. As a sharp guy, I switched to plan B after waiting for a week without success. I used my other line WhatsApp to chat her and claimed to be chatting her from the company from which I dropped her cv. My people immediately, this babe unblocked me and started apologizing. I said no whala, I pretended to follow up with the company so that they can pick her.
Now I have dropped a particular address not too far from my home for her in Lagos as the location of the company? SHOULD I ALLOW HER TO EMBARK ON THE JOURNEY OR I SHOULD FORGIVE HER?
Pls. I need your advice before Monday. I apologize about the long write up typo. I'm not one for revenge. In fact, I have always preached against it. But you see this matter of TRANSPORT SCAM? It's becoming a major national problem that demands intervention by the Nass and DSS. |

gidgiddy: Nigeria is a really weird country. It's in a country like Nigeria that someone will participate in the treasonable act of coup plotting, seize power through the barell of the gun, rule as a military dictator
And people will thank the same person that came to through criminality, for coming to power through criminality
A serious country has no business celebrating a former military dictator, because what you teach the coming generation is that criminality pays

Penguin2: Just because the next in line to Egbetokun is Frank Mba, an Igbo man, Tinubu arranged a Kangaroo Bill to his rubber stamp NASS to keep Egbetokun for 4 years and prevent Igbo man from becoming IGP.
But if Egbetokun is allowed to stay 4 more years after retirement, then all his coursemate should also stay 4 years with him.
And nobody below him must retire while he’s still in active duty.
If not make Egbetokun get out. Forget the Mba angle. The President can retire him and elevate any DIG or AIG he wants as IG. I think he just wants Egbetokun to stay on. That illegality started under Buhari. |

This speaks so well on how Nigerians lack deep thinking with little cue of politics and foreign affairs, filled with negative vibes. Non explained the Congestion Pricing but all proceeds to comments (Misdirected energy). Congestion Pricing cancellation is more of tax relief for American car users in Manhattan and it's environs. It should be applauded by his people but not ignoramus in Nigeria who don't study. You step in to rescue to the house from ignorance (thank you) but then present a definition - tax relief - that fits the narrative you want to push. Your definition cleverly ignores why the policy was necessary. Sorry, you're no Daniel comes to judgement. |

Everlastingson: You should maintain your neutrality. No one's really supporting someone to keep money that's not his. Did you not notice hateful Yorubas trying to paint the entire Igbo tribe bad coz of this singular issue. That's why some sound as if they support the recipient to keep the money . It's to spite hateful and senseless Yorubas. No, I did not notice a lot of "Yoruba posts" trying to paint Igbos bad for this. I'm not saying there haven't been such an avalanche though – I may have missed it. But from when I started reading at the beginning of the thread, here and on Twitter, it's those accusing Mr Ahmad of terrible things (targeting Igbos and all) that I saw. I saw people accusing people of taring the Igbo race, arguing that there's nothing wrong in keeping the money anyway, that Mr Ahmad should have been careful, that his narration is wrong, that it's all made up to target 'Obi', that he should have begged... Shocking! |

God1000: I believe these sanctions are more of a message to America than Russia
EU and the trump administration are seriously at loggerheads over Ukraine and it appears the European union is telling Donald trump to get lost with his buddy Putin for excluding them from the ongoing talks in Saudi Arabia
In this life, try to be strong or other people will decide how you live your life, this is one lesson I've learnt from my village to Gaza, Ukraine and DRC
A nuclear armed Ukraine will not be ignored and ridiculed like this, today the Rock man in north Korea with all the poverty in his country commands more respect in US than the entire EU
Facing two bullies must be very difficult for zelensky, it's a crazy world But some European countries also have nukes. The dynamics of US-Europe and US-Rocket Man relationships are different. The EU can easily rival the US in most areas, including military might. Also, Ukraine had nukes. It gave them up on assurances from Russia and the US. I'm sure you can still that picture of Clinton, Yeltsin and the Ukrainian leader online. And now, they face two bullies. |

Oluchiugo: What if Russia agrees to Cease-fire for the election period?. This is just for peace to reign and stop the blood shed. If both parties are true to their words, this is the best line to follow You're telling me you would trust Russia's word on anything? I won't. That's not even the point. The point is whether Zelensky is legit without an election. The answer is yes, since the constitution says no election during war. |

Oluchiugo: In as much as I don't support Trump's peace meeting without Ukraine, I would suggest Ukraine accept to hold elections first and Russia should suspend hostilities for the election to hold. All parties should respect the outcome of the elections and allow peace to reign. I believe this is the best way to go Why should they hold elections during war - when the constitution allows the president to continue? Did the US and UK hold elections during WW2? |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Trump Blames Ukraine Over War With Russia, Saying It Could Have Made A Deal by JuanDeDios: 8:34am On Feb 19, 2025 |
ogmask: I side with Trump on this. All these war mongers in Europe couldn't move a finger towards making peace before the escalation of hostilities but now they want to dictate what Trump does to advance peace. Had Zelenskky listened to voice of reason this war shouldnt have started in the first place. He should conduct elevyions if he wins, ok. He can't be a dictator and talk about fairness. How did Zelensky not listen to the voice of reason? What would you have done to prevent the war if you were him? |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Trump Blames Ukraine Over War With Russia, Saying It Could Have Made A Deal by JuanDeDios: 8:33am On Feb 19, 2025 |
franchasng: Don't be too sure. Ukraine may likely reject any unfavorable peace deal and EU countries are now considering backing Ukraine fully even as UK makes plans to station military fully in Ukraine.
This Trump's one sided peace deal might turn things messy. Russia should tread with caution, whenever you think all is well with you is when trouble usually strike hardest

It's a pity. All this while, he was trying his best to fend off a bully, and now, there are two of them. Europe is his only hope at this point. They can rally around him and try to isolate the two bullies. But will they? |

jojothaiv: I've been with clients who wanted recouping such and I can tell you for free, the success rate is measly 15% as most of the beneficiaries would've make away with the disputed funds.
Some banks rarely swing to action if you notify them ASAP, they'd be like it's not the fault of their customers but the fault of the sender, hearing that statement alone weakens and dampen our morales. That's just poor corporate culture. CBN needs to have a firm policy on this. Reminds me of last year when I received money I was not expecting from someone I didn't know. I informed my bank and told them to get in touch with the sending bank and customer to have the money reversed, as I was sure a mistake had been made. They referred me to the sending bank. Those ones sef didn't send. It took about a month of me reminding them and threatening to write to CBN and NDIC before the money left my account. Whether they informed the sender or put it in their own pockets, only God knows. I sha played my part. |
Business › Re: Man Has Refused To Return Money I Mistakenly Sent To Him -Bashir Ahmad Cries Out by JuanDeDios: 6:29am On Feb 19, 2025 |
jojothaiv: He isn't even aware.
Most courts up north charge between 10-20% of the disputed funds. While in the case of probate order/deceased account, aside the fees pay for the letter of administration the court will still take their cut before distributing the money to the heirs of the deceased.
There's a caveat to presenting a court order to a Nigeria commercial bank, the court order doesn't guaranteed if one funds would be reversed bank if the beneficiary have already made use of the said funds, the least the bank would do is either to lien such sums for a maximum of two weeks (in extreme cases, PND might be sustained but this doesn't happen everyday). In the event that the beneficiary didn't fund the account with the disputed funds after two weeks, it's back to basic for the sender.
The system ain't straightforward as many think. This is not good enough. At all. |
