Politics › Re: US Congress Approves Sanctions On Nigeria Over Christian Killings by JuanDeDios: 9:44am On Mar 14, 2025 |
God1000: I am totally against the killings going on across Nigeria from different armed groups in different regions and Benue in particular, I see politics in everything happening, hopefully this dark chapter will end soon
But I don't like it when America plays religious card to fool gullible christians, go to zamfara, borno, Kebbi, yobe, sokoto and see the mayhem being unleashed on the villagers from their own brothers everyday and it doesn't bother USA
Go to Anambra, imo, abia and see the havoc local armed groups are causing there
Go to Oyo, Ogun, Osun and see ritualists on the rampage and killing spree
Go to rivers, delta, bayelsa etc the home of militants and kidnappers
Let's be honest with ourselves, I don't think there's any persecution of Christians in Nigeria, people from different religions are dying everyday, all I see is bad and wicked leaders who don't care about their own people since their families don't live here in Nigeria
America is a useless country right now and they should mind their business, no one cares about their nonsense sanctions, they are known for supporting terrorist groups across the world for as long as it serves their selfish interest, infact Nigeria should place sanctions on America for aiding and abetting the genocide in Gaza which has killed over 45,000 Palestinians and for supporting domestic terrorist groups against minorities across USA
The same spineless congress that cannot stand up to the scallywag in the Oval Office.
Call me whatever you like, I am a moderate & enlightened Christian. You're correct that all communities have experienced violence in Nigeria. Yeah, overall, what's going on in Nigeria transcends religion. But it's also correct that you can't divorce religious division from what goes in places like Kaduna. I don't agree with Congress on this one, but some of our people have handed them the rope to hang us. |

anonimi: Did it get to N600 a few days after the May 29, 2023 announcement that subsidy is gone?
We will confirm if it is being paid now when the claim for repayment by NNPC comes up, like this one that came to light several months after the fact. Nothing "came to light": we knew subsidy was being paid when it was being paid. We said so. Not sure what your point is though. But you can believe what you like. Have a great day. |

anonimi: They are subsidy up to September last year, which was 16 months after Tinubu announced that subsidy was gone. September last year is past, not now. After Tinubu said subsidy is gone, FG stopped paying subsidies and prices went up. When it got a to certain amount, I think N600, if memory serves me right, FG was forced to reintroduce subsidies and prices stopped rising. Every sensible person knew this even though some government people were denying it. NLC also made it clear that it would not accept further rise in fuel prices. But later, they started to reduce the subsidies again, and around the time Dangote came on stream, they stopped subsidizing completely. If you have evidence that subsidies are being paid today, I'd love to see it. |

Politics › Re: Igbo Town Unions Reject FG’s Ranching Plans In South East by JuanDeDios: 7:31pm On Mar 12, 2025 |
Angelfrost: Sigh... There is no such thing as "Farmer-herders" clash!
Can we just quit that crap?!!
That's gaslighting 101.
We are talking about the forceful taking of farms, maiming, rape, murder of innocent people here.
We are talking about atrocities that are no different from war crimes.
Infact, we are talking about the agelong indulgence of nomadic herdsmen simply because they are from specific tribes and regions that are clearly well represented in key parts of government.
When you are ready to face the reality of your failed state, let me know. What we have these days are mostly the crimes you described, but these crimes were preceded by farmer-herder clashes. I don't know how old you are but I personally witnessed farmer-herder issues when herders came to my father's farm in the 90's. They weren't carrying guns and committing mass murder then and the clashes were few and far between. What I've never seen those of you who mouth "private business private business" whenever government ranching is mentioned do is come up with a solution. Oh, we should bomb them wherever we see them? Well, maybe. That's why government wants to confine them to ranches first so that we can create a strict liability law by which anyone seen with a cow outside will be arrested on the spot. That's how you take away the guise under which those who commit the atrocities you described are entering our communities. Won't be the first time government is coming into business too. |
Politics › Re: Igbo Town Unions Reject FG’s Ranching Plans In South East by JuanDeDios: 7:03pm On Mar 12, 2025 |
Angelfrost: If the government had put the security of lives ahead of other misplaced priorities, this would never have been a menace in the first place.
This is practically giving a soft landing to terrorists and miscreants who have maimed and murdered thousands over the years.
If you pull this off, what stops other criminals and lowlifes from taking off and demanding settlement too?!!
How many terrorists are we going to 'settle' before making national security a top priority?!!
What is stopping cow owners and herders from purchasing lands for their own use?!!!
What has stopped the national assembly from criminalising and branding these people terrorists all these years?!!
I mean... They wasted no time in branding and going after Ipob with the full strength of the army. You asked why it's become an issue, that's what I answered. So you think branding them terrorists (whether they're really terrorists or not) will solve any problem? Hmm. Anyway, I think what government is trying to address is the problem of farmer-herder clash, which was how the problem started, long before criminals took over and started committing mas murder. The fact is that criminals are entering our communities under the guise of being herders. This policy will take that problem away and make it easier to deal with criminals. But, still, goodluck to those chanting "private business private business". They kind of remind me of the guy who was speeding along an expressway, on the RIGHT side of the road. A trailer emerged and started coming head-on to him. People shouted at him to clear off the road, but he said "No, I'm on my right of way." Well, he sped on, damned right. And he was crushed by the trailer, damned right. |

seborrhic: There are 2 likely things that may have happened: Firstly,it could be that out of annoyance of having been attacked by his gang members, police operatives executed the gang leader and not this childish talk of gang members killing him accidentally in an ambush. On the other hand,it could also be possible that the gang members feeling he had betrayed them targetted and shot him dead in the convenient exposed position he was put in by the police. But going by the antecedents of the Nigerian police, I give first option 80%;second 20% in the order of possible scenarios. He is dead is the most important item of news here. What of this: He was killed by policemen who had in the past colluded with him to stop him from fingering them? |

Angelfrost: Are we still on this nationwide ranching nonsense?!!
If you have to do cattle rearing or livestock business, you simply purchase the land for it... Why is that even up for debate?!!
The way you Nigerian leaders treat these Fulani herders with kid's gloves, one would think they are doing the entire nation a huge favor by rearing cows.
As if beef is cheaper than water in Nigeria. Because herding has caused and is causing many deaths. It has become a national security matter, so common sense says government has to step in. |

Hmm, Nigeria, a drama scene where people acquire political power just for looting and and then walk free after one week of prosecution.
Some looters will be welcome with heroics cheer and you said, "NIGERIA WILL BE BETTER SOON" That's the thing. I have never heard of a suspect obtaining a PEPETUAL INJUNCTION to stop the police or some other security agency from detaining or prosecuting. Only in Nigeria. |

Imagine your beautiful daughter kidnapped by these demons, then they give you gun to deliver justice to them… or watch them shot dead after capture or to be taken to the court and doing court case for the next 10 years before they get pardoned or probably escape prison early enough… rubbish!!!!
