God1000: This is really heartbreaking, how can foreign company be doing this to nigerians in their own country
It's our police that escalated the situation to the loss of a life. Why even draw your gun against unarmed protesters? Even if they were aggressive, were they armed?
festacman: If you know how women rivalry works, you'd already know that this new legal suit came as a result of pressure from Madueke's current wife.
But in fairness, if a woman sought for divorce and got it. She should stop parading herself with divorced husband's name. You can't eat your akara and still have it.
When you're divorced, you you're allowed to retain your husband's name for as long as you like.
onadana: They keep accusing Rwanda a tiny nation that DR Congo far more out weights in size of assisting the Rebels ....is it a crime for DR Congo to get other nations too in assisting them in chasing out these so called unknown gun men vis a vis.... Nigeria
Well, the government has had its backers too. Back in the 90's, US Secretary of State Madeline Albright called Congo "Africa's First World War" because of the sheer number of countries involved in the conflict on government and rebel sides.
Nothing really wrong with our yams really. It's how Ghanaian farmers produce theirs that we do. The problem with yam export from Nigeria is that yams spoil and instead of flying them some people will go and put them on ships. Our yams are generally safe to eat. It’s beans they’re ruining with chemicals.
epainos: Organic farming for profit making or for personal consumption to promote good health? I actually prefer you to ask your questions here, but you can always end me a message via NL and I will reply it.
Thank you for this public service. This is a very important matter. People need to take their health seriously. But to balance the aspect of diet, two quick points. 1. Food has always been contaminated. Even nature contaminates food in a bid to ward off pests – that’s why we have antinutrients. That is why if you have certain medical conditions, your doctor may advise you to sit with a nutritionist and find a way to avoid a certain antinutrient or two that may be harming you. Most people thrive in spite of the problem. However, some don’t. There are Nigerians who go into hospital every month to treat “malaria”. Some are battling with UTI forever. For these kinds of people, the steps above are necessary.
2. Most people are not in a position to take the steps discussed above and avoid these common foods. For them, it’s choose your die between hunger and possibly unhealthy food. If everyone were to avoid wheat, for instance, there won’t be enough rice and beans to feed them and prices will quadruple overnight. That’s why you’re only advised to avoid wheat if you’re found to be gluten-sensitive. The same applies to antinutrients found in grains, seeds and some vegetables (most plants really). Since most people can’t take the steps above, I think the most utilitarian approach would be to share tips on how to reduce these harmful substances from getting into your body (e.g., washing fruits and veggies with baking soda and then clean water, parboiling your beans, etc.).
SmartPolician: He said: “I want to introduce a business that will benefit the country. I propose to bring an auction platform from the USA to sell all disused and abandoned vehicles across the country.
So after spending 30 years in America, this is the good thing you can do for your country because Escobar asked you to come home and invest. Others are setting up new automaking factories in their states and you want to make Nigeria a dumping ground and even had the guts to write the authorities asking for lands. I no know whether dem dey komot shame for una eyes for that America!
He's not trying to make the country a dumping ground, sir. Quite the opposite. He's trying to rid the country of abandoned vehicles lying all over the place.
DeepSight: That is possible and I also considered if he meant million instead of billion.
But no one should doubt that more than that figure has been stolen from Nigeria - especially via crude theft which he specifically attributed it to.
Very likely. Yes, these guys are big hitters when it comes to corruption. When most Nigerians talk about "corruption" or "looting", they don't even know the extent of it.
officialwdhtv: "Someone stole $69 Billion USD and nothing was done about it" - Former Chairman of Presidential Panel for Recovery of Public Property (SPIP), Okoi Ofem Obono-Obla speaks on corruption in Nigerian government.
USD$69b? Not possible. Has to be a mistake. That would put the person up with the Ronaldos and Messis of the bigs league - IBB, Abacha, Diezieni, etc. But I doubt even any of these great ones hit the $69b mark. But the 69 billion dollar questions remains who he's referring to. Any guesses? Diezieni? Bulama? Sabi Yusuf? Malami? Who?
IVYWonder9: There have been criticism about, ‘kissing and hugging' of fiance by some Christian sects... Is it a proper way acceptable scripturally or it's just a man-made rule?
That depends on your pastor/denomination's interpretation of the Bible.
onome2013: This type of person should slaughtered small by cutting his eats, then a finger daily, until it gets to his toes., so that no mother will deliver him to the world again
This a horrible crime indeed. But do you, sir, really want to live in a country where the police summarily execute people?
This is not a very sensible response. If you're Nigerian, then you and me have the same president, who's going to be using the plane (irrespective of who that person happens to be at any time). If you're not Nigerian, then you know whoever your president is.
chukzyfcbb: Dr kemi pinheiro too no small, plus his profile says he is always against up against the corrupt individuals within the country.
Yeah, Pinheiro too is as big as they come. Don't take the part about him being against corrupt individuals to the bank though. He's just another lawyer - so tomorrow, you could see him out of EFCC and defending Orji Kalu or Diezieni or GY Bello.
Morbeta11: On further appeal to the Supreme Court, the apex court earlier this year heard Senior Advocates of Nigeria, Wole Olanipekun leading Chief Anthony Idigbe and Prof. Fidelis Oditah in the appeal which was initiated by Mr. Atuche against his conviction, while Dr. Kemi Pinheiro who held the fiat of the Honourable Attorney General of the Federation led the team of lawyers representing the State including Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Sebastine Hon. https://www.channelstv.com/2024/06/28/breaking-supreme-court-affirms-conviction-of-ex-bank-phb-md-atuche/
See team! Couldn't get a reversal though. Have they served the jail term already or they will now be hauled into a black maria for transport to jail?
Elsueno: it's 'best before' , So no worries...it just means it isn't as delicious or fresh after that said date.
Besides those things like 'expiring date' etc are mostly scam( they want U to eat quicky & buy more), sometimes its just one of the things that made up the product loosing its efficacy. unless u see some insects, spoilage or very abnormal taste or smell...Enjoy ur food.
Imagine them putting expiring date on grains ... Capitalists are very greedy bunch
Yeah, but sometimes it's packing that expires. E.g., the expiry date written on bottled water applies to the bottle, not the water, as after that date, it's thought plastic starts leeching into the water.
MT: The worst of Biden is better than the best of Trump.
Yes, Biden rambled and sounded incoherent at some points but trump was a pathological liar. He was fact checked and found wanton 26 times by New York Times.
It’s up to the democrats now - either to stick with Biden or convince him to step down. Either way, the objective must not allowing that “evil” call Trump to be back in the Oval Office.
The highlight for me was Biden calling Trump an “alley cat” and a “convicted felon”.
You mean he's shifted focus from kidnapping farmers to kidnapping kids? I'm sure the Harvard Business School will have a term for this kind of shift in business strategy.
