OGrockinnewacct: Gave me most of the precautions I needed to take for them to survive where I kept them plus the type of foods they eat, I never had any knowledge of snail farming before now.
Mariangeles: South Sudanese women are the ones the West tried so hard to shove down our throats as the ideal, the standard for African beauty. The nerve of them white people!
Not that they're not beautiful in their own rights sha.
Strange that someone needs to tell them this. Don't they give them orientation before they crown them? I was surprised last year when they said the Ooni had banned "middlemen" in the food business. Smh.
Patrickker: What made food prices to go high in the first place? Chiefly, Insecurity. The farmers are killed, raped and chased away from their farms. What concrete measures are in place to turn the tide for food prices to crash consequently? Your guess is as good as mine - nothing. This is not a wishful thinking. The efforts must be intentional, deliberate and forthright. Let's not be playing with stats like toys at children's disposal.
As a Benue indigene, with crude tools like most of our families use, my mother's farm alone could average 3 to 4 trucks (911) of yams every farming season. All of that stopped with Fulani herdsmen killings up and down. This is not magic, it is a reality faced.
Spot on. As long as these fundamental issues are not tackled, all the CBN's monetary policy moves can't reduce inflation to a single digit.
Kobojunkie: 1. There is no point if you failed at providing evidence of it, though. 🥱🥱
2. The opposite remains the case in a majority of the cases. The wife receives abuse while the sidechick receives attention and gifts for doing nothing near what the wife has to do or put up with. 🥱🥱🥱
3. I have said nothing of the morality of anything as well. I simply pointed out a fact of what cheating literally is: an intentional form of emotional and sexual abuse, an act born of cruelty, deception, and manipulation.🥱🥱
Your post is everywhere. And repeating your initial wild claim using different words. I guess I'll leave you to it.
Kobojunkie: Your story does not show that the wife was being treated better than the side chick was. So, why did you feel the need to post it as backing for your initial claim?
2. I can tell from your write-up that the man makes some good money, and so he spends quite a reasonable amount on his wife, but this does not show that he spends a lot less than he does on her on his side chick. So, exactly why did you expect me to conclude from this that the man was treating his wife a lot better than his sidechick? 🥱🥱
For all I know, the same man could equally be bankrolling his sidechick's business, her hospital expenses, and also her entire apartment/home, in addition to taking her on trips to five-star hotels, etc. 🥱🥱 On an entirely different note, a man cheating on his wife is literally abusing her. Humans do not abuse that which they love and cherish. So, if the man is not equally abusing his sidechick regularly as he is his wife, he is definitely treating his sidechick much better than his wife. 🥱🥱🥱
But you don't know, do you?
Anyway, you miss the point of the story, probably in your hurry to respond. The point is that suggestions that men treat their side chicks better are based on a very narrow viewpoint because this wife came to a conclusion based on a single fact she found out. He took someone to a nice hotel. He has not taken me there. Proved: He's treating her better than me.
The fact, however, is that in the grand scheme of things, no man treats his side chick better than the wife. It's always the wife first, so whatever he does for the side chick, the wife already got far more. All the story proves is that men treat their side chicks DIFFERENTLY from their wives. Differently does not mean better, miss.
I'm not commenting on the morality of cheating, so let's the keep the lecture about "abusing her" for another time.
Kobojunkie: You are telling me that there are sidechicks out there who would accept being treated worse than the wife? Please explain!
I know a guy who got married in church. Wife said she wanted a business, so he opened a supermarket for her. Said she needed a car. Said she preferred a Sienna because it carries a good amount of load and will come in handy with dropping the kids off at school. He got her a Sienna. Three beautiful kids followed and they were sent to private schools. Her mother fell ill. She was an only child and he took care of the mom's hospital bills. The shop was doing poorly for some reason, so it fell to the man to keep paying the shop rent every year.
Then one day, it leaked that the man lied about how many days his last business trip lasted. It was four days, not five days. The fifth day, he took his side chick to a five star hotel and stayed at one of the most expensive suites.
You know the first thing the wife said? 'And he has never taken me to 5-star hotel!'
You're thinking just like the woman. You think this man treats his side chick better than than his wife.
Fact is: No side chick is remotely close to being treated as good as the wife.
Kobojunkie: I would ask you for a stat to prove this claim, which you make here, suggesting that most divorced women go on to become sidechicks. Where is the backing for this claim? An unnamed analyst makes a claim, and we are supposed to believe it is fact? Nonsense!
There is nothing Juju about it at all. If you reason it without biases coloring your view, you would see it yourself. Anyways, as for one of the reasons why some divorced women go on to become sidechicks, well, there are several reasons.
➜ Society claims it is wrong to commit adultery, but then, rather than penalize the man and sidechick, lets them off, and in some cases, Society turns the blame on the wife for not being wifely enough or not having the prowess to protect her marriage from the other woman. All this is pressure placed on the wife, who now finds herself fighting depression, rejection, and also having to continue her wifely duties, all while the man and his sidechick continue to enjoy their lives as though nothing ever went wrong. Imagine a situation where even the man's family members receive gifts and entertain the sidechick behind the wife's back as though to say that they approve of the relationship, even as they continue to insist their son's wife continue to serve him judiciously in the home. ➜ Most Nigerian men treat their sidechicks so many times better than they treat their own wives. I mean, this ain't a hidden secret at all, as even very poor men are known to go out of their way to ensure their sidechicks are well fed before even their own children, talk less of their wives. The position of sidechick in Nigeria is so many times better than that of the wife, who, in many cases, is no more than a provider of free labor in the marriage. ➜ A sidechick has more opportunities for growth than a typical wife would have access to. A sidechick has greater control over her time and freedom than the average wife does, and for an ambitious woman, that is a benefit that is of great importance. Having the man while holding on to her independence is a valuable place to be in. ....
Yes, there are lots of benefits to being a sidechick than a wife to a Nigerian man, that is why I believe a wife trading places with a sidechick is a sort of promotion, not a demotion, for a divorced woman.🥱🥱🥱
Through their websites or handles. However, I don't think anything positive would come out of it. And it's sad. Maybe I am wrong about. I hope I am.
Most government agencies in Nigeria have failed in their primary responsibilities of providing services to the citizens. They are hardly any bodies protecting customers and where they exist provide shabby services.
Anything goes in Nigeria. It's almost like a jungle. People just look the other way when things are not right or done properly because even the bureaucracy and process of reporting such to the appropriate channels is tiring and even frustrating. People have developed a thick skin and aren't even bothered about a lot of things anymore.
They just shrug and move on hoping on the next opportunity to make money and live their life.
The quality of life in Nigeria is really at it's lowest. A lot of things have gone really bad and a lot really needs to change.
Sometimes I wish I was in a better position to change some of these things. For now I can only play the part I can by highlighting some of these things that have gone wrong.
We really can't continue living like this as a people where even the least of the basic things to make life comfortable and meaningful are simply not there or at best non functional.
We have a long way to go as a country and people!
I doubt you're wrong. Those ones that don't even reply emails or acknowledge messages.
DesChyko: You literally had all the time in the world to confirm the meaning of debunk on your "smartphone" before posting this.
But no, you chose to expose your rock solid ignorance to the world.
No. You, sir, have poor comprehension skills. If you call me a thief and I come out to say I'm not a thief, I have DENIED it. Period. That is the right word in this context.
Debunk has a restrictive use - for example, if you show the public a phone and say I stole it, and I later show PROOF that the phone actually belonged to me. That is when the press will say I have debunked your allegation. A mere denial of an allegation, like Mr Hundeyin did, does not call for the word "debunk".
FitCorper: This is an eyesore, Benin still continues to amaze me how stagnant it had been after so many years. Could it be the blood of the innocent fighting back.
Suicideboy: building cars when most nigerians cant fford common household appliances
its not as if they are building cheap affordable cars
why build cheap affordable mini trucks, mini tractors, mini buses etc instead of this rubbish
the black man is forever gone in terms of IQ
I weep for the black race
This has always bothered me about all the cars made/assembled in Nigeria. They pay zero attention to the realities of the economy they were meant to be serving. Why are keke assembly plants not springing up in Nigeria? Mini-buses? Walking agrotractors? Refrigerators? Laptops?
Dpsychologist: Every season of Big Brother Naija seems to have that one housemate who behaves in ways that make you wonder, “Is this really strategy or chaos?”
This season, that person is clearly Imisi. From her sudden mood swings, odd dancing, random outbursts, and unpredictable attitude — to the way she sometimes drifts between being playful and downright provocative — she’s a total wildcard.
Yet, surprisingly, she’s got one of the strongest fan bases out there. Her fans trend her name daily, defend her on social media, and even fund her votes like their life depends on it.
So the question is: 👉 What exactly do people see in Imisi? 👉 Is it her “realness,” her drama, or just the entertainment factor? 👉 Or is Nigeria simply drawn to chaos and controversy?
Personally, I think her unpredictability keeps the show alive — people love to hate her, but they still tune in to see what she’ll do next. Maybe that’s the secret to her growing popularity.
What do you all think? Has Imisi cracked the code of attention, or are we just rewarding bad behavior with fame?
I did not watch the show and I don't know Imisi, but I find this a brilliant analysis.
Mariangeles: You most likely have celiac disease. Have a test carried out to check.
I don't know if what I have is Celiac or not. I did carry out a test and it was negative. But, again, for some reasons, I didn't trust the test. Anyway, I'm getting better and better at managing it. I even even found something that works if I mistakenly eat trace amounts of it (after spending tons of cash trying different things).
Onetechnews: For many of us, bread is not just food. It’s comfort, it’s joy, it’s memory. ...
I'm gluten intolerant. When I eat gluten (wheat, rye and barley), really really horrible things happen - not the bloating and other discomforts you describe here. These are child's play compared to what I go through.
Now, I was never really a bread person. So I was always most at threat from drinking beer or malt. And the occasional noodle or spaghetti or semovita. But I recently I started eating beans again and since bread is the only thing I really enjoy with beans, I had to find a way. So I now bake my own bread using gluten-free flour.
AntiChristian: They need their maga to pay and hence need divine intervention!
It's because of the failures of secularism and a deep-seated need to be part of something bigger than you. This need can drive you to anything - the Church, animal rights activism, Islam, Buddhism, BATism, MAGA, anti-corruption crusade, Obidience, etc. Anything.
Biodun556: Jonathan praised Irabor’s service, noting that the retired officer was “a soldier who stood for truth and never played politics with security.”
What of when they said he deployed soldiers to the airport to prevent the DSS from arresting an economic criminal named Godwin "754-duplexes" Emefiele?
DeepSight: If it goes through Edo then its not strictly a coastal highway.
It's not. The Coastal Railway, which was the initial idea before Tinubu came with his own, was meant to pass through Edo though. So I'm sure Edo folks would have felt cheated if the new arrangement had excluded them.
I still hope and pray they include the train track. They don't even mention it anymore, just the road.
