RomanceRe: What Do You Think About Men Who Own Stanley Cups? by Juliearth(f): 6:39am On Mar 30, 2025
AbokiWam:
There's this dude who owns about two at my workplace.

Walahi ever since I saw him, I started looking at him suspiciously.

Even the colors look feminine.

As a Man why would you own Pink and Sky blue Stanley Cups?
You need a mental overhaul. People buy what they consider useful to them and also in the coirs they consider appealing. If the cup is of no value to you, then don't judge those who find it useful.
EducationRe: Should Mechanical Engineering Professor Be Able To Match Roadside Mechanic? by Juliearth(f): 6:25am On Mar 30, 2025

I have read where people deride professors of engineering for not being ble to fix computers or automobiles or household electrical appliances. Are professors suppose to be technicians and master designs from every major brand?
Wondering how a prodessor who attended a University system and is focused on researching knowledge/teaching is suppose to become a skilled roadside mechanic or electrical technician.
Universities dont teach brands or designs but design principles and dynamics so o find it odd when people expect a lecturer in an engineering faculty to be a master of specific brands and their designs.
If the first statement up there is not an assumption, then it is palpable and a sour sight for professors of a given field not being able to put to practice the techniques of their field. No thanks to the deplorable state of our educational system and misplaced priority amongst our youths, an average graduate on or even before graduation should earn a myriad of skills. Thus:
Technical skills (which falls under your scope), entrepreneurial skills and so on.

These days boys just want to be boys, girls just want to eat (apologies to my gender) and lecturers just want to be paid and laid.

The former is well schooled( I assume) in the field. However, he may not have the necessary experience to be as dexterous as the latter.

The latter, though not schooled formally, has over the years, garnered knowledge from his "oga" and subsequently from his sojourn in the field of work.

The truth of the matter is that if the former must thrive in the field and gain an edge over the latter, he must first learn from the latter. Thus he would gain the advantage of certification and experience.

Is like someone should not lodge in hotel again? Dont be deceived on how fancy it is o!

Make calls describing the hotel you are in with address infront of the receptionist, DONT pay with cash use your atm card or transfer.

If you are leaving next day, nake a call in their presence saying they should come pick you up in d hotel so by d next day you quickly find your way
Whilst in the room, look out for secret doors, holes and so on. Lock your door(leave the key in the keyhole) and secure further with any heavy furniture you can find around. Under no circumstance should you open the door to attendants at night.

Journey well, Mr. Oghofatha. sad

Understanding the darker side of humanity will give you every reason to exercise caution. But how careful can one be?

The phrase "Good morning" can annoy some people.

It would do you good to inform your spouse about your whereabouts.

In general, everyone should exercise caution. sad cool
One can never be too careful, unless if one would live in seclusion and far away from human reach. Is that even possible? RIP to the deceased.

Nothing serious ma'am. The picture on your profile has a very close resemblance to someone i knew through a mutual friend in Amaifeke(hope i got the name correctly) so many years ago. I sincerely hope you are not offended,it is an innocent inquiry. Cheers.
It's absolutely fine.

You can answer me in an inactive thread if your answer is affirmative.
No, I'm not. Any reason for the inquisition?

Isn't this a crime?
It is not a crime if the original intention is to guide the researcher with resources to carry out the research, assistance with field work( by this I mean deploying questionnaires to the intended target groups home and abroad), helping to structure the reference to comply with the school's agreed style and so on.

I just got a job offer of 400k net monthly, but I don't know why am scared of resigning from my current job of 218k net monthly, I want to tender resignation letter but am still contemplating due to fear of unknown, I need advice on way forward because I don't want to make mistake, this new job and my current job are both on my line of career, same role, so I won't find it difficult to blend with my new job, but you all know in Nigeria you can't trust employees untill you start working with them as the popular saying the devil you know is better than angel we don't know, I don't want to jump from fry pan to fire. Please am desperately in need of professional advice at this junction if I should go for the new job or not
Are you Taurus?

The fear of the unknown is a constant factor in issues like this, but how would you know how deep the River runs if you dont plunge in?

If there is a way you can take a leave of absence for a week or more to assess the new work environment, it would help you decide.

All the best!

Factor in all the expenses you would incur in the course of running this job. Also factor in basic welfare. If the job cannot cover for these two things, especially the former, so much so that you would run the job on a deficit, please do not take it.

Speeding1:
I don't keep quite when drivers are over speeding. The truth is most of these drivers are heartless, they drive as if it's animals that are in the vehicle.
Last time I was traveling to Lafia from Abuja, the driver was running as if he was doing car racing. I cautioned him several times with shouting joined. When we finally got to Lafia, I went close to him and said Baba, I know you will say you have being driving for years, but I want to tell you to stop over speeding while driving. He nodded okay sir.
Always caution your drivers when you're travelling.
Imagine if road safety officials mount road blocks after every 10km solely for the purpose of reporting unruly drivers and rhe driver is charged a copious amount of money. That could help arrest this situation.

He had to be driving recklessly all along ... 14 passengers...men included. .. just sat and I guess be praying ... doing nothing. .hoping that they arrive safely. This kind madness will stop only when passengers demand the driver drive safely...or be dragged out ... beaten and handed over to Police or soldiers at the first check point. They will enter Part 2 with him ....more beatings plus extortion
I co-sign, but do you know what? Most passengers prefer drivers who overspeed. As a matter of fact and observation, the driver is chided and in some cases upbraided if he doesn't speed.

Most Nigerian drivers are too rough and reckless. I hate travelling with such motors.
You are right. I would have suffered same fate last month. The driver of the vehicle I boarded was heading towards a head-on collision with a dangote trailer, claiming rights over the lane.

Drivers in Nigeria need to be re-oriented on the proper use of our roads.

Beautiful beginning, sad ending. I'm worried though that you didn't take accountability of your cheating acts. What played out for you was karma. You were not faithful to her and you projected your insecurities. Uet again, you are feeling too macho to call your bluff off and apologise. Allow the young lady be. Learn to do better in your next. You need to take a break and mentally mature before venturing again. You would know when you realise that you cannot eat your cake and have it

Fats MAY slow down poisons ingested, not,NEVER,venom that is passed through the blood vessel.
This stuff is very easy if you understand this:substances injected through the blood must be neutralized through the blood, basic principle.
Once a toxic substance gets into the blood,it tackles the blood or destroys the circulation that the entire body needs,or in otherwords,if a body system for example, the kidney is still able to receive blood supply, that blood is tainted with "toxins",destroying the kidneys,or the brain or the lungs, etc.
So how does palm oil you eat or drink help?
Palm oil that would take at least 6hours to be digested before the body gets the active components it needs from it,viz, fats, carbonhydrate, bit of minerals, none of which by the way,has any effect on venom, whenever the aforementioned end products enter the blood stream to be used by the body.
Another way to help you is this:if palm oil delays the venom, why all these years, scientists have not been telling people,"if snake bites you, before bringing the person to a Hospital, give palm oil first aid"?
Or you think palm oil is produced only in Nigeria?
Your points are valid no doubt, but there are some mysteries that defy logic. This happens to be one of such. I've seen it work on people and heard likewise.

The same can be said about the use of a certain types of stones for the adsorption of snake and Scorpion venom. This phenomenon cannot be backed scientifically, yet some people swear by it. For instance, my coursemate got relieved of a snake bite only after using this stone. No relieve came from the use of an antivenom...

Shut up!
Palm oil won't do anything to help the dog.
Venom enters the blood and not "eaten" or swallowed. That is the only routevthrough which palm oil could have been of very limited help.
Spitting ignorance with full chest.

Fats slow down venom mobility

The heat season is before us. These creatures come out to seek cooler pastures at this time of the year. All holes, cracks and door openings must be taken care of. No matter how hot the weather is, please do not leave your doors wide open for ventilation. If there is an opening beneath your door, fill it up with clothes or whatever can serve. Clear out bushes outside and clutter inside....

Looks like a mamba...

But can't tell the type from the picture.

Your dog can't eat or stand. Any bite marks?

Dogs barked just once... I am guessing it's a Rottweiler. Those ones no get time for too much noise!
The interior of its mouth is not entirely black so it's likely not a mamba. I think it is a cobra.

At about 10:58pm yesterday, my dog barked just once, i was surprised because i just left the sitting room. I woke up this morning to see this long black snake lying dead in my sitting room outside door.
My dog couldn't stand up nor eat. But i have taken her to my vet doctor for treatment.
Please what is the name of this snake and does it have deadly venom?
Looks like a spitting cobra. Yet another reason to get a Dog.

You can't literally do anything when the victim your sister is not complaining.

Maybe when you will be able to do something without her permission is when she finally died. Then you can arrest the husband but for now, your sister is the only one that can help the situation.
What you can do from your end is quote limited and may aggravate the issue on ground. Your sister has the ball in her court. It's either she keeps playing this game that isn't going in her favour or take a walk.

Please advise her to take a walk, if not for anything, at least for her life and sanity.

So I had always heard and read news about people like Dangote, Musk and their likes losing billions of dollars within a day. I never really believed such stories until it happened to me yesterday. So I had invested in some stocks in the US stock exchange and the profits were rolling in, in millions of naira equivalent per day, especially after the Trump election victory. I had invested in some QC stocks. Just yesterday, I checked my stock performance and discovered that I was losing money fast as the stock prices of QC had crashed. I lost a total of #14m in one hour! I heard it was because of the negative statement made by the CEO of NVIDIA about that particular stocks. Twas really a sad day for me.
Consider it a loss if you sold your stocks. Give it time.

Good evening guys please there is a new tenant I let in and she is beautiful and I am in love with her and want to woo her in a week time, is it wrong to date her?
It is not ideal because if she is uncouth, you may suffer setbacks such as non-remittance of rent and even disrespect. However, if she is mature and your intentions are genuine, you can try.
