By Rotimi Ojomoyela Ado-Ekiti—EIGHTY million Naira ransom is being demanded by the kidnappers of the former Chairman of the Senate Committee on Privatisation between 2007 and 2011, Ayo Arise, who was, weekend, kidnapped by gunmen alongside his driver on Okene-Abuja Highway. It was gathered, yesterday, that the abductors of the Senator, who represented Ekiti North Senatorial District on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, made the demand when they contacted his family members. Arise was reported to have been travelling in his Mercedes SUV, when the gunmen attacked and ferried him to an unknown destination. A family source said he was abducted while returning to Abuja from Oye-Ekiti, his home town. Arise defected to All Progressives Congress, APC, prior to 2015 general elections. He was said to have attended a ceremony at Ikere-Ekiti on Saturday, where a chieftaincy title was conferred on retired Assistant Inspector General of Police, Mr. Tunde Ogunsakin. He returned to Ado-Ekiti and visited the golf course along Federal Polytechnic Road before he heading to his home to see his associates. Meanwhile, Kogi State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP William Aya, said, yesterday, in Lokoja that the Command was not aware of the kidnap. Aya said Okene-Lokoja Road, where the Senator was said to have been kidnapped on December 3 was under effective policing, saying the claim was doubtful. Ekiti State Police Public Relations Officer, Alberto Adeyemi, who earlier confirmed the incident, however, said he could not make comments because it did not happen within his jurisdiction. Asked where it happened, he said: “I cannot say. I am not allowed to comment on incidents that did not happen within my jurisdiction.” https://www.vanguardngr.com/2017/12/senator-ayo-arise-kidnapped-abductors-demand-n80m-ransom/

Chairman of Northern Elders Forum, NEF, Chief Paul Unongo, has stated that former Vice president, Atiku Abubakar jumps from one party to the other because he has nothing to offer Nigeria as a president. Unongo speaking with The Sun stated that Atiku cannot be compared to President Muhammadu Buhari stressing that President of Nigeria come 2019 must not be an arrogant, rich and overconfident lazy candidate who feels he can jump from one party to the other to buy the conscience of the people According to him, Northerners were not going to bring PDP back into power and Buhari would still win election come 2019 no matter what PDP did. He said “What has Atiku got to offer Nigeria? Atiku would be in one party for two hours and he would abandon it and join another one for three hours and when he does not get what he wants, he jumps into another party. And now he is like saying Atiku must be president, Atiku must be president of Nigeria. There is no single person in Nigeria that must be president. I think money tries to make some people mad; they think they can buy anything they want and everybody. “The North has no problem whatsoever and it is not only the North that elected President Buhari in the last presidential election. Buhari got average of the votes in virtually all parts of the country. Remember that Buhari contested for the primaries with Atiku and he beat him in that election thoroughly. Atiku did not even come second. Kwankwaso, the former governor of Kano State got more votes than him. People who are thinking that Atiku can do something when he joins the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) are making a mistake. Nigeria has passed that way and left it behind for a long time ago. We are not impressed by Atiku who jumps from one party to the other and say oh! I have a lot of money and I must be president. Nigerians are not going to put such people in power. We love Buhari, a man of integrity and principle; you can predict him and when he says a thing, you can be sure that what he is saying is true. Buhari would win Atiku any day, anywhere and any time. “If the PDP likes, let them field Atiku. If he contests with Buhari, he would win Atiku by 9 o’clock in the morning. Buhari is a tested and trusted principled leader. We are not for sale and the presidency of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is not for sale. The presidency is not for the highest bidder. We in the North have no problem on who to choose between Buhari and Atiku. We are not divided. I used to say to everybody in Nigeria that we in the North are more radical than the South. We can accommodate both Buhari and Atiku but the North is mature politically and they know where to go and we are going to go where we should go. But we are not going to vote to bring the PDP back to power. “Buhari said he would fight corruption and today, they are recovering piles and piles of money including dollars even buried underground. Nobody had done that before. He promised these three and has delivered on all of them. Everybody is seeing what he is doing. There is no doubt that he is better than Atiku and I can assure you that we would stay with President Buhari. “I can predict exactly what the South would do. In the last presidential election, if you count the votes in the three geo-political zones of Southwest, Southeast and South south, Buhari still had the majority of the votes. We are going to repeat that in the 2019 general elections because the candidate that the PDP is trying to bring is not the type that you can compare with Buhari. “If they can produce an Azikiwe that is truthful and transparent, people would go for him, because they believe that he would not change. If Nigeria can produce that candidate that would ensure what Azikiwe called pragmatic federalism, that person would be able to challenge any person or presidential candidate from the North. But until then, I have not seen that politician that can challenge Buhari in 2019 “I expect is that there would be a free and fair election in 2019 and the better candidate would win the presidency. And it must be a president that would be for all Nigerians; it must not be an arrogant, rich and overconfident lazy candidate who feels he can jump from one party to the other to buy the conscience of the people. That did not happen in Anambra and it would also not happen in Nigeria in 2019”, he said. http://dailypost.ng/2017/12/04/atiku-nothing-offer-nigeria-president-unongo/

Former President Goodluck Jonathan, has said that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will become solid after its Saturday national convention. Jonathan expressed the optimism in an interview with newsmen after his visit to Gov Nyesom Wike of Rivers, in Port Harcourt, on Sunday. He said that he was hopeful that by Saturday PDP would elect its new set of national officials “God willing we will go through the convention and the party will become solid. “Now we have the National Caretaker Committee and when you are caretaker you are not as strong as elected chairman. “You know the party just went through challenges, luckily we passed the challenges through the pronouncement of the Supreme Court. “Now we want to formerly elect the national officials of the party that will lead us to 2019 elections.” Jonathan said he was not in Port Harcourt for any meeting but to appreciate the support Wike gave him during the burial of his brother- in-law. “He assisted us and he came physically with his deputy and some principal officers of the state.” Asked of his assessment of the two-and-half years of Wike administration, Jonathan described him as one of the best governors. “He is one of the best governors in terms of commitment and putting structures in ground. “I have always say that for you to say you are doing well as a governor you must add value to whatever you met . “He met certain structures and he improved on them. He has contributed roads and other infrastructure. “He even invited me to commission one of the roads and bridges during the state anniversary. That is why people call him Mr Project.” Jonathan commended the good work of the media, their objectivity reportage and sensitisation of the public. “You have been playing your role especially as politics is involving and as we are going to different level.” https://www.vanguardngr.com/2017/12/pdp-will-become-solid-saturday-convention-jonathan/ |

Alhaji Atiku Abubakar ex Vice President has said that he will will definitely beat President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2019 presidential election becuse according to him Buhari has wasted a lot of his massive goodwill and that Nigerians are tired of leaders who cannot think big and work big. Atiku speaking with Ovation Magazine’s Dele Momodu in One On One Session said: A lot of people are disgruntled but keeping quiet and lying low. ‘Our youths are suffering terribly and now they are being sold into slavery. Everyone knows my track record of inviting and attracting a good team and giving them the opportunity to work professionally. Nigerians are tired of leaders who cannot think big and work big. Dele, I will be ready from day one…” “There is nothing wrong with it. Ours is a fledgling democracy of barely two decades since the end of the last military regime. What it means is that the political parties are yet to mature and are going through constant transformations and changes. That is why even President Buhari has been able to move from party to party, including ANPP, CPC and now APC. And for those who read about world history and political books like I do, they will know that Abraham Lincoln, Sir Winston Churchill and others went through so much before achieving their dreams…” He went further: “I’m not different. I know what I want for my country. I’ve served Nigeria in different capacities and I am one of the most experienced leaders around today. There is no part of Nigeria I’m not familiar with. I have friends everywhere. They know me and I know them. The benefit of being around for so long is that they have come to know me for certain principles and know that I have a rich knowledge of Nigeria and what it would take to move us to the height of greatness. They can also trust me that I’m not coming to government to steal their money. God has blessed me with business acumen. How can you run a nation if you cannot run your own business? I run my businesses to international standards. Let any of those who want to compete with me show what they have managed successfully. I’ve lifted over 45,000 families out of joblessness and poverty through my microfinance company in my State Adamawa and we’ve have empowered mostly women. The good news is these women have been very honest. Returns on our loans have been about 98 percent. They have not disappeared with the loans given then. We plan to replicate this nationwide…” Asked if he was obsessed with being President at all costs. He said: No! He asked rhetorically why he should not give back some of his experience and exposure to a country that has given him so much? Why should he allow incompetent people to run down the country when God has given him the talent and wherewithal to lift up Nigeria? “I have the highest regards for my boss. He gave me eight years to serve Nigeria under him. We had our differences but we both tried our best. But on the issue of corruption, I have challenged anyone, anywhere, who has any evidence of corruption against me to come forward. I’m sure they would have combed everywhere trying to find anything incriminating against me, but they have not found it, or they are still searching. Dele, I’m throwing that challenge again, let them bring out whatever they have on me…” “I will definitely beat him this time. He has wasted a lot of his massive goodwill. A lot of people are disgruntled but keeping quiet and lying low. Our youths are suffering terribly and now they are being sold into slavery. Everyone knows my track record of inviting and attracting a good team and giving them the opportunity to work professionally. Nigerians are tired of leaders who cannot think big and work big. Dele, I will be ready from day one…” Asked if he not afraid of Buhari he said: “No, definitely not. Buhari is free to contest and I’m free to contest. And Nigerians will make their choice.” https://www.vanguardngr.com/2017/12/will-definitely-beat-buhari-2019-atiku/

BY Adekunle There was a plot to abduct the former Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC), Prof. Attahiru Jega, in the thick of the announcement of the results of the 2015 presidential poll, a new book has revealed. The revelation was made in a book, ‘On a Platter of Gold: How Jonathan won and lost Nigeria,’ written by a former Minister of Sports, Mr. Bolaji Abdullahi, who is now the National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress(APC). Jega was to be forced to resign or declare the election as inconclusive after the abduction by rabid loyalists of former president Goodluck Jonathan , the author claimed. Another dimension to the plot was a plan to bomb the International Conference Centre(ICC) where the results of the poll were collated. Also, the idea of a military takeover was mooted by Jonathan’s men to scuttle the emergence of President Muhammadu Buhari, but the two most senior military officers at the meeting said it was too late. Worried by the failure to truncate Buhari’s victory, a former Chief of Defence Staff, Air Marshal, Alex Badeh, was said to have sent a terse text message to a former Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Suleiman Abba, in which he accused the ex-IGP of treachery. But the book clarified that Jonathan was not aware of the multi-dimensional plots. The book implicated some top military officers, a Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Sotonye Wakama (who is from Okrika like the former First Lady, Patience Jonathan), heads of security agencies and senior politicians from the South-South. According to the book, a former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Mr. Godsday Orubebe, was to spearhead the plot to cause chaos in ICC while others, including policemen will withdraw and allow a mob to cause the commotion which will lead to the abduction of Jega. But while Orubebe acted his script, the ex-IGP Abba chose to uphold the rule of law and instead of deploying policemen to the ICC to disrupt the collation of results, he reinforced security. Abba overruled a Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Sotonye Wakama, who was allegedly part of the plot. The scuttling of the plot made Orubebe to carry the can alone because no one else joined him in the plot. The book reads in part: “In the early hours of Tuesday, 31st April, an urgent meeting had just been concluded in a private house in the Maitama area of the nation’s capital. At the meeting were some top military and security chiefs believed to be loyal to President Jonathan and some senior politicians from his South-South region. “The meeting had been convened to save what was turning out to be a disastrous situation for their ‘son’. Something had to be done and it had to be done quickly. The situation appeared desperate, truly, but all was not lost yet. As long as the final results had not been officially announced, there was still a chance to do something. “The first option on the table reflected the desperation of the moment. If an explosion were to go off near the International Conference Centre (lCC) where the results were being collated, this would create the situation that could allow some agents to move in and remove or burn election materials. “This option was, however, rejected. Not only was it considered extreme. It carried a high risk of unintended consequences, especially with the menace of Boko Haram running wild and loose in the country, it could also lead to loss of lives. “If the goal was to render the election inconclusive and stop the announcement of the final results, there must be some other way of achieving this. “The other way was to mobilize as many people as possible to invade the venue and disrupt the collation process. This was seen as a better option. It was low risk and had the added advantage of live television coverage to show the whole world the injustice that had happened in Nigeria and how the lNEC was part of the conspiracy. “No matter what happened, President Jonathan could not he informed of these plans. Everyone agreed that they had to save the President, even against his own will. It was a moment of blind passion. But this was not all about Jonathan. Apart from the personal benefits that had turned many of them into millionaires overnight, they saw the Jonathan presidency as the culmination of the Niger-Delta struggle that had started many years earlier and cost so much in human lives. “It was the ultimate recompense for so much bloodshed, which would, perhaps, require more blood to preserve. But they also knew that President Jonathan was no militant. To some of them, he wasn’t even ljaw enough. Therefore, if he knew what was being planned, he would no doubt stop it. The only way to get him to act ‘more presidential was to keep everything away from him till the last minute, thereby forcing his hands.’ For the plan to succeed however, the inspector General of Police and the Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS) had to withdraw their officers from the International Conference Centre. While they did not envisage any problem with the DSS, the same could not be said of the police. This was why the Deputy inspector General, Sotonye Wakama, was invited to the meeting instead of the Inspector-General himself. Wakama was an ljaw man from Okirika in Rivers State, just like the First Lady. He could be trusted. The same could however not he said of his boss, Suleiman Abba, from Jigawa. “About the decisions arising from the meeting he had been invited to, Abba declared in no uncertain terms that the police would not be party to such obnoxious plan. Instead of withdrawing his men, he decided to send in reinforcements. This was a major setback, but not enough to scuttle the entire plan. “Text messages had already been sent out to some key people, inviting them to join the protest at the International Conference Centre. Even though only a few had acknowledged the text messages, they believed everyone would turn up. After all, those invited also had a lot to lose with President Jonathan out of power. “Unknown to the plotters, a few of those that received the text messages planned to heed the call. Not having attended the meeting, they had little or no background information about the protest they were being invited to participate in. “Many also wondered who the brains behind the plot were. The Jonathan campaign had been fractious and disjointed and it was often difficult knowing who was doing what. “Those within the party hierarchy were particularly bitter at their perceived alienation from the presidential campaign. Therefore, they were not going to join a battle they were not considered important enough to be part of in the first place. A good number ignored the call to arms because they did not want to make a spectacle of themselves on live television transmitting to the whole world. And so it was that almost everyone stayed away. Except one man, Peter Godsday Orubebe.” The book also revealed the botched plans to abduct the ex-INEC chairman, Prof. Jega. It says: “The stoic calmness displayed by Jega during the stormy session soon attained the metaphorical status believed to have contributed in upending the plot hatched to truncate the electoral process, “What the INEC chairman probably did not know at the time was that part of the plan was to abduct him under the smokescreen of the confusion that would ensure the moment the police began to fire tear gas canisters into the venue. “Once abducted, he would either be forced to resign or to declare the election as inconclusive. However, with other actors not playing their part and the police not reacting as envisaged, all had gone awry within minutes.” Having failed in all fronts, some loyalists of the ex-President came up with the idea of a military takeover to prevent Buhari from becoming the President. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2017/12/revealed-ex-inec-boss-jega-abducted-jonathan-loyalists/ |
Kashim Shettima, governor of Borno state, says President Goodluck Jonathan nearly removed him in 2014 with the belief that he was responsible for the disappearance of Chibok schoolgirls. He said Mohammed Bello Adoke, who was the attorney-general of the federation at the time, told the president “you don’t have the power to remove even an elected councillor”. Adoke’s position was supported by Taminu Turaki, minister of special duties, Shettima said. He was speaking on Thursday at the launch of ‘On a Platter of Gold: How Jonathan Won and Lost Nigeria’, written by Bolaji Abdullahi — who served as a minister under Jonathan from 2011-2014. ”The people around Jonathan told him that I was hiding the girls, that there was no abduction. They said I was hiding the girls to embarrass him,” he said. He described Jonathan as a “decent person” who was misled by the people around him. ”The whole world was talking about the abduction for three weeks before Jonathan spoke with me for the first time. He summoned the principal of the school and the commissioner for education to Abuja and ordered the IG to arrest them,” Shettima said. He also revealed that the police commissioner and Chibok DPO were summoned while the brigade commander, who was an Ijawman, was left out. ”Those who advised the president did not want him to know the truth. They knew that the Ijaw officer, who was a captain, would tell a more credible story,” the governor said, insinuation that the kidnap narrative was shaped to present it as a northern conspiracy again Jonathan. http://www.nigerianeye.com/2017/11/goodluck-jonathan-believed-i-was.html?m=0 |

Prophet Isaiah was talking about the deliverance of a lawful captive but I want to know who a lawful captive is and how will one know that he or she is a lawful captive? Isaiah 49:24 Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered? 25 But thus saith the Lord, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children. mynd44 lalasticlala OAM4J |

TheCabal:He told you the truth you can't handle. |
TheCabal:This your summation that UN is like NGO contractors is wrong. If Buhari and APC are sincere to themselves, they should have apologized to Nigerians even before now. Their government has been all about lies, deceit and propaganda. |
ojlifa:No body is painting a fake picture of Nigeria to the world, even pmb told the world that Nigerians are corrupt. The truth is that some Northern elements are benefiting from Boko Haram hence their total eradication becomes impossible. Are you not surprise that till this moment no arrest has been made on the sponsors of Boko Haram. Don't forget that Buhari was their spokesman, his inability to look into the sponsors of Boko Haram makes him a suspect, it seems that he's afraid of something. |
