popizaino: The last time rvp tried to ask why Ghana has been losing a lot of gold to the UAE and Switzerland through illegal minning,he met a lot of backlash and denial from people who facts irk a lot and as usual, they turned it into personal ad hominem without providing any substantial details to refute his claim or answer his question fast forward to the very moment, it is still a national pandemic in the country. Like I said there are some light you can never deem no matter how you try . Now expecting insult and name callingso follow suit.
rvp2018: Nigeria and Ghana - the sooner you kick out Brits and American road contractors the better for you. Ever since we dumped British road standards and adopted Chinese - potholes are almost history.
I see Nigeria Betchel have camped in Nigeria - delivering roads that break-down almost immediately.
The trick is Chinese innovating road technology - Soil Stabilization technology - where they mix cement and soil - and it create almost concrete like hardened - that doesnt break into potholes.
You get a road that is almost as good as concrete road for very cheap - just the same soil - mixed with few cements.
The 1st road did in China was to re-do the Nakuru-Nairobi highway in 2005 or around. That road is nearly going twenty years. It's one most busiest roads in Kenya. It has NOT a single pothole.
rvp2018: long distance runners have to be extremely thin..45kilos..that not average Kenyan..it's the Kenyan you know..most Kenyan I bet are more obese than Ghanaian
are all Kenyans long distance runners ?
we are not talking about being Obese ... We are talking about looking well built and healthy.
Shma: I don't have any time to repeat. Ask vankelvin or popizaino. He will tell you how things went. If you don't want to ask, go back to the other thread and search interchange. You'll find the section where we did that challenge.
how did things go?
Even your own citizen African traveller told you guys that Nairobi interchanges are not a match to those in Ghana...
just imagine what a political disaster it will be if Ghanaians started rejoicing over the covering of open drains or the fact that all roads have side walks
vankelvin: When we say Nairobi is nowhere near Joberg there are so many things to prove that.. But when you say Accra is nowhere near Nairobi what are some of the things you think makes Nairobi far ahead of Accra?
Skyscrapers Expressway Zoo what again?
ofcourse Accra is nowhere near Nairobi...
Nairobi plays among Kampala, Dar and co... Just slumpolis
Accra left all that behind and is far ahead in everything development wise.
Shma: Ghost interchange in the middle of nowhere. It's a massive one I say, but why waste infrastructure like that in the middle of a forest and slums? Or is it because your zoo is still struggling with post-independence impact that it can't build anything?
it's in a residential area with over 500,000 people, majority of whom own their own cars.
That is a proper place for an interchange unless you are struggling with the colonial mentality whereby only a small area deserves infrastructure hence why the zoo Kenya can't spread it infrastructure to cover all
GeneralDae: The JSE has always been by far the largest in Africa, the gap between JSE and second place Nigerian Stock Exchange is huge. I think your Economy is probably bigger than what's on paper but I know there are many problems bedevilling your economy though.
samorobo: Yeah I remember last year the cause for celebration was progress on footpaths and this year it’s progress on flyover...like listening to themselves are t they ashamed? First that sound absurd to them?
it's sad that people can be so deprived of development that they will celebrate over something that should come standard with roads
Mkenya2019: You cant unless you want to go back to pariah state of the 1980s. The world is interconnected - you will not manage to get any funding for any coal related project - and anybody touching you - will be punished - by world financial systems.
Kenya wanted to do 1,000mw plant using south africa coal - it got into serious environmental headwinds. Nobody touching anything with coal or dirty fuel anytime soon.
and that is why 50% of your country remains unconnected and dark
