PoliticsRe: Lets Have A Youth Forum To Revive Nigeria: by JustGood(m): 2:42pm On Dec 09, 2008
Start by educating people around you and telling the effects of their support for evil no matter what they gain temporarily.
If you succeed with that, you would have done well and you wont need to canvass for support here.
PoliticsRe: Will Coruption Ever End? by JustGood(m): 2:40pm On Dec 09, 2008
Do you not see we should all be pointing to ourselves?

If another person is put there tomorrow, he/she will also be like the predecessors. This means that it is the Nigerian society that has a massive problem!
RomanceRe: Hi by JustGood(m): 2:31pm On Dec 09, 2008
It is greed.

It's probably similar to the same reason why some people will just keep stealing money and being corrupt.
Ever wondered why Abacha had more (stolen) money stored away than many national governments?
You want more of something because you think it gives you satisfaction but the more of it you get the more of it you want. There's no real satisfaction in anything in this world.

RomanceRe: Is There A Man Shortage? by JustGood(m): 1:28pm On Dec 09, 2008
No way I could have read all 11 pages of these! 11 pages in 2 days huh This issue must have some resonance around here.

However, sistawoman's post below caught my attention as being spot on.

There is a good man shortage. But if a woman is worth her weight in gold the men will be fighting each other to keep you and therefore no fighting necessary for the woman.
Most women who have difficulties finding good men need to examine themselves first before venturing into serious relationships.

Now now. . . dont start fighting me grin

all this stress over a BBC report?

whats the big deal?

Only thing I noticed about BBC and Ghana is they tend not to run any negative articles on the country.

However, they're not afraid to do so when its Nigeria or some other places.

This may also be reflecting the general attitudes of the citizens of the respective countries in real life. Nigerians tend to badmouth Nigeria. Ghanaians don't badmouth Ghana.
There are Nigerians and Ghanaians working at the BBC. Go figure.

4.  Corrupt government officials are prosecuted and jailed in Ghana after being forced to cough up the loot, but in Nigeria, public officials who do NOT steal from the state treasury are regarded as eccentrics to be ridiculed and reviled for the rest of their natural lives, while successful embezzlers become the toast of the town, provided they are generous in spreading the loot about as they go.

5. Ghanaians, along with citizens of other CIVILIZED nations of the world will peacefully form neat, orderly lines in bus terminals, train stations and airports, as opposed to Nigerians who will cram up into each other crotch to butt-crack while screaming curses at line-jumpers, even as they scan for openings to jump the line themselves.
This is the main gist here.
Nigerians themselves dont like progress. they only embrace progress with their lips. They will rile you and mock you if you do things that will bring progress to the entirety of the nation

We have heard so much more than this in the past and we will keep hearing them but nothing changes for good.
Have you considered that it could just be that majority of Nigerians prefer the way things are because it allows them the chance to steal IF they ever get the opportunity. Most Nigerians are only waiting for their ruen to steal. They dont really want the stealing and the rot to stop.
What they want is their chance to get to the top and do more damage with the chance to oppress those who may not be at the top. When we all change our mindsets, Nigeria will change. It doesn't take any magic
PoliticsRe: Lets Have A Youth Forum To Revive Nigeria: by JustGood(m): 10:50am On Dec 08, 2008
I sincerely hope its not just about breeding a new set of corrupt politicians. We have heard so much about such in the past. They start with supposed noble intentions and they almost always metamorphose into a new set of corrupt politicians.
