I believe getting an educational loan can suffice as a source of funding?
Ur incite is needed
Yes! An educational loan can suffice as source of funding. I remember a very reliable agent was going to introduce me to a firm that issues educational loans when I needed sponsorship. Buh I told him I didn't want for reasons best known to me. But yes it suffices.

Yes it is possible to drag a 1 year program into 2 years but it wont be taken as a 2years course. Please dont be misinformed. How do you expect the school to tell immigration that you came in for a 1yr (2 semesters) and suddenly became 2yrs (4 semesters). I work in a college, I understand what you're talking about but it is not possible. You will waste your time for those 2years and you will be surprised that after you graduate, you will receive a letter from the school for immigration stating that you only studied for 1 year at the college.
Oga demoah, thanks a lot! I appreciate ur post, very insightful. If only I could find a LLM spanning 2 years. I knw PGDs are mostly for 2 years, buh there are PGDs in law. Anyways sha, God will see me thru. Thanks again!

Thanks Anugoson! Abeg Oga Siga help me torchlight this question o. I was just thinking: Is it possible to manage to drag a 1 year fulltime course into 2 yrs, like maybe appeal to the school that I cant finish in one year because of fees and all. And if they agree and I finish the 2 yrs, will that 2 yrs be taken as a 2yr course which translates to 2 or 3 yrs PGWP or is it the original 1 year that will be reckoned which translates to only 1 year PGWP. Am trusting you will bring ur expertise to bear on this...Thanks!

@ justica...will attempt ur question number 2. U can use ur dad as ur sponsor, but u need a co-sponsor...reasons why u need a co-sponsor are thus, since he is a retiree if he spends his gratuity on ur education abroad, how does he intend to fare for the familywhilst u r away since there is no other source of income?....another thing is the number of dependants he has?...so these are the reasons y u need a co-sponsor,he can equally act as ur co-sponsor if u r equal to the task...so ur sponsorship letters should have 1 sponsor taking care of ur tuition while the other taking care of other expenses.
Thanks mahn! My father has no dependants o, all of us children are out of the house fending for ourselves, plus my mum who I can say is the only dependant is working. So really all the gratuity is for him alone and whatever he wishes to do with it. So plenty of it can actually go into sponsoring me. Besides this is Africa, parents go all out for their children even if it means goin hungry. What do u think?

I will attempt question no 1 -

My two cents, your payslips should commensurate your SOA (this will only show the authenticity of your payslip as it will reflect in your account 0

However submitting 2 SOA should not be a problem....one for payslip genuity and the other will probably be where your KUDI dey.....
Thanks a lot 9jabiggurl. What if I submit only pay slips showing my salary and I don't submit my SOA since I am gonna be sponsored. Is that ok?
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 7 by justicia: 12:52pm On Dec 11, 2014
Hello my good people. Abeg help me answer these questions o. 1. If I am submitting payslips for my salary, must my SOA be my salary acct or it can be another acct. 2. Can I use my father as my sponsor; he is retired and the only money in his acct is his gratuity which was just paid, there is no inflow/outflow in the account, the account was simply opened for the gratuity only. All them Ogas in the house, abeg help me address the questions oo. Thanks!

Lawyer can qualify based on the role and responsibility presently. You can apply from Canada. But do not forget that you will be needing a lot of document from Nigeria..... Good luck
Thank you very much ANBAKO, I appreciate it. I may have to get the documents before I leave Nigeria. By the way what are the docs needed for the FSWP application. Kindly list them for me. Solomowis and all them Oga here, pls enlighten me. Thanks!
TravelRe: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by justicia: 9:57am On Nov 29, 2014
Hello guys. Am new here. I think this is a great initiative, just like the travelling to Canada Thread. My first question is whether a lawyer qualifies under any of the eligible professions. The second one is whether I can apply in Canada instead of from Naija here. The second question stems from the fact that I already have admission for Masters of Law from a University in Canada and I'll soon be applying for Study Visa and I hope to get it. So am planing to apply for the FSWP in Canada.

Goodmorning house, as this is November, can I still apply for a visa against January 2015?.please house I need urgent answer?
I think its late. In my case, my LoA came in this November and it came with a letter addressed to the embassy telling them to fast-track my visa that I have to be in school by january 1, but u see, I don't have my docs ready and therefore I can't even take advantage of the letter, although its not certain that the embassy will honour the letter. Hello house. My formal admission letter was delivered to me yesterday. The admission is for Winter 2015. However the letter came with another letter for the embassy stating that they should give me visa quickly to be able to attend class by january. Is this letter a regular letter that comes with all LoAs or do you think it will make my visa application to be treated as a special case. I am asking because I am planing to defer the admission to Fall 2015 because of the time it takes to apply for and get the visa. But if the letter will make my application to be treated as a special case I can apply before the end of this month. Pls what do u think.

Hello House. I have admission from York Uni. for Winter (starting Jan 6 2015). I guess its late to apply for Visa now, so am planing to defer the admission till Fall 2015. When can I start Visa application for Fall 2015. Is january too early?

Hi dear,

Have someone who's interested in LLM, how long did the admission process take?
How's the tuition llike. Do let me know plz. Thanks
Well I applied for winter 2015 and I completed my appplication before Oct 1st cos that was the deadline for winter. And I got the notice in my email box today. That's approximately 2months. As for tuition, its high oo, like $30K CAD. Am planning to pay only the 1st semester fees frm here, will pay the rest frm Canny. U can go to their website for details. Btw, mine is Professional LLM, regular LLM may be cheaper buh I doubt that it will be a far cry...

Hello House. I got a positive msg today frm York University abt my application. All that is remaining is for the Faculty to confirm the recommendation of the review committee and then send my formal LoA. I applied for Masters of Law. I thank God for this and I invite everyone to follow me thank Him. By the way, can anyone pls point me to a model list of docs for visa application; I'll be applying very soon, though I may have to defer my admission because my application is for winter 2015 and I don't think my TRV can be out before january. But I believe in miracles...

Hello house,
I've been admitted to study a one year program in Canada which requires 13 weeks work term placement to complete. From my research of the cic website, i discovered that if one is admitted into an academic program which work experience is part of the curriculum, such a student must apply for a work permit as well as a study permit. At what point should one apply for the work permit? Can both be lodged at the same time? Someone with similar experience should please advise.
Awaiting your replies. Thanks!!!
Study permit doubles as work permit. btw the V.O.s will see the work part of your curriculum in your admission letter and they will take care of that. So no separate application for work permit.
