2. DHL or VFS Global. According to seniors, DHL is better. I guess the location for your family is accra.

Hello All. Thank you for your contributions here. You have helped so many people including me. I have 2 questions: 1. Where in Lagos can one take the PR Visa passport photo in line with CIC specs. 2. How will my family submit their Nigerian passport for PR Visa. I am here in Canada while they are in Naija. I have submitted mine to Ottawa but the email I got from CIC is unclear as to how they are to submit theirs. They didnt specify any mailing address. They just meotioned using DHL or Naija or Ghana VAC. Please help.

Can one also avoid deed of gift by simply asking your sponsor to write a letter of sponsorship for settlement funds and then transfer the money mentioned in the letter to you in furtherance of the letter. And the latter can then be notarized. One can then add proof of source of funds of the sponsor What do you think?

I'll advise you show funds that will prove that your wife can take care of herself and the baby before she gets a job in Canada, and to prove that she has a reason to return home because she is doing well at home too... u know SOWP is a temporary status. Even though u know she isn't returning home...

hi all. just to let you all know that my app was refused, saw it on Thursday. Reason: personal assets and financial status and failure to prove relationship with sponsor. but I think all that is crap. I think the real reason is my husband's study permit which will expire in August. when i got my documents back i saw that they actually highlighted the expiration date on his study permit, they must have thought 5 months is too short to grant a work permit for.. I actually thought my app will take 3 to 4 weeks which was the trend in December when I submitted but when it took longer I knew I might have an issue. anyways just to let you all know that paper app is still faster than online. thanks all. moving on to FSWP!

My woman got her license to practice in just over 2 years. Those days were tough despite her 4.6/5 cgpa bsc and 4.8/5 cgpa Msc from two top federal uni's in Nigeria ...She's a pharm though and not a lawyer. Some of her colleagues even with Phds from canadian Uni's were not so lucky as there is a limited number of attempts on the exams. I dont know the level of difficulty for law practitioners, but I wish you sucess and spirit of excellence as you prepare for your licensing exams.

Very true! I am a lawyer from Naija too. I practiced for about 5 yrs before coming to Canada. I just fished my Masters in Law at Osgoode Hall Law School. I paid for it working 2 jobs - bakery and furniture coy. Now prepn for my lawyer licensing exams. life abroad isn't easy, but hard work, humility, tolerance and dedication pays. Above all however, pray for the grace of God to lead you. It is well.

Anyways I had called vfsglobal before and they confirmed that my app is still under processing... they also confirmed my email address as correct, so i wonder why I didn't get acknowledgment email after submission... anyways fingers crossed.

My people, looks like paper route is slowing down. My app is now 1 month and 1 day old, applied Dec. 29. Those who applied early December and earlier got medical email in 2 to 3 weeks. I don't know what's happening... Anybody with a clue?

I have a small issue: a friend applied for study permit for his brother using paper route and it's 6 months now, no medicals, nothing. Is this the situation generally or we need to take steps. He has sent them Case Specific Enquiry though...

There is no format. Just ensure the letter contains your job start date, job title, job duties and responsibilities, no of hours per week, annual salary, permanent/temporary, full time/part time, contact details and signature of HR/Supervisor.

That OOU ehn, na wa for that school. Getting ur transcript there is crazy. My advise is if it is WES you want to use it for, no need to apply for it, WES seems to know it's difficult to get transcript from OOU, just send WES ur degree cert, they will send it to OOU for verification and once OOU verifies it, WES will proceed with the evaluation based on ur degree cert alone.

Congrats to those who recently got ITA. I just wanted to find out which provinces are currently taking PNP applications. And secondly, is it exactly the same points u get from the CRS tool that u also get after creating ur EE profile? I have used the CRS tool and i got 457 with my IELTS score being the only fictitious input. Planing to create my EE profile in December when my IELTS result will be out and I hope to ace it. Any hope for 457 or I need to apply to get provincial nomination?

great result. As for WES, those guys are messed up. You may have to pay for express courier. In my case I had to pay them to resend my docs to OOU by express courier since the first one they sent did not get there. And guess what, I had to call them to ask for tracking details, as if I don't have a right to it, after paying 96 more dollars. Anyways they gave me the tracking details sha and upon tracking today i saw that FedEx deliverd my docs to OOU since Wednesday. Next thing na to follow up for OOU to send WES confirmation. If you want it fast try pay for express courier, cos I am not sure how long it takes when they use regular mail or email
