Farki:Stefan molyneux runs the most educating channel on YouTube. He presents education on history like no other...sometime this year, YouTube decided they've had enough of his conservative views ... Shut him down and that was it. These platforms didn't build themselves, content providers are an integral part of that development. They too need to be protected by taking away the previlege enjoyed by these platforms. Joe Rogan, same. The number of conservative accounts cancelled by Twitter and YouTube are a dime and dozen. They need to be opened up for litigation. Let's see how long their excesses last |
Farki:Doesn't work that way for the same reason your landlord can't wake up and throw you out. These users contribute immensely to the development of these platforms and for some of them it's a deserved source of livelihood haven't put in thousands of hours and contents After putting in hard work shooting videos to engage your followers and to build trust, Then one day the owners wake up and shot you down. Case close. You can't complain, you can't seek legal action because of immunity. If they told users at onset they would be cancelled if they hold alternative views, people won't use them. Instead they make up the rules as they go and use them where they like. They have to be consequence for acting like a publisher instead of a platform |
Farki:Complaining? The complaints against some of these platforms are numerous. The platforms are protected from third party legal actions of they remain as platforms and don't take up publishers responsibilities by vetting what should be said and what shouldn't. The platforms automatically assumes responsibility when they started vetting contents. And rightfully so, the immunity should be rescind The freedom of the individual must be protected and not the existence of these Giants. |
Burstit:But you haven't refuted me. He may have been wrong in other things but not this one. Clearly he is fighting for your write to say what you believe in without fear of being shut down |
omenka:Trump isnt trying to regulate freedom of expression, on the contrary he is trying to force the owners of these platforms to allow people the freedom of expressing themselves without being shut down, And if they must get sanctimonious and shutdown people however they like, the people should at least be able to pursue legal suites.. I don't see how this compares to Buhari that wants to regulate our freedom of expression in the name of hate speech |
GambaOsaka:Very good. And when they do, he should be able to seek redress in a competent court... That's what democracy is about. This is a win for freedom of speech for both sides... Unless if think conservative views are evil and should be shut down |
spiritmasquerad:There you go. You want free speech and you also want to censor someone... Freedom of speech is a fundamental right of all Americans... If the platforms want to censor, no problems... But the people have to be able to file a legal suit against them when they feel their right has been tampered... I don't see the problem here...the only reason you don't want this is because you like conservative voices silenced... |
spiritmasquerad:Chill... Firstly, we must all understand that the owners of these platforms are becoming more powerful by the day. They can literally take down a government. It isn't about Trump. It's about doing the right thing. It is only right for these big guys to face a legal suit when they infringe on people's right like they always do . The irony here is that trump is trying to protect freedom of speech. People should be able to say what they want to say online and no be afraid of their accounts being shut down. Twitter takes down conservative accounts for no reason. Countless complaints, but they can't do anything about it because of this immunity. Now, they would have to think twice before shutting someone down |
mesmer:Yes. If they must tell us what to say and what not to say, then they must liable. You cannot eat your cake and have it. You want to censor my post on the one hand, and you don't want to take responsibility for flagging me wrongly. They even have the balls to factcheck the president. When they over step like they always do, it's only right that people are able to sue them |
mesmer:Don't be foolish. Read and comprehend. Trump isnt censoring the internet in fact he is doing the opposite. What Trump is doing is to allow users of the internet platform to be able to say what they think they want and not get shut down by the platforms. That is the meaning of free speech . Trump get abused everyday on Twitter, no problems. But Trump can't say his mind without being flagged. That's double standard, undemocratic and unAmerican. And this isn't just about Trump thousands of conservatives get shut down daily for no other reason other than having a different opinion |
rman:You don't understand what the Trump is saying: Publishers vet contents before publishing... What this means is that publishers can shut you down if they don't agree with you...and in any case a publisher infringes on your right, you can bring a law suit against them....just like the Covington high school kid that was defamed by CNN, ABC, and other big publishers , he got paid millions of dollars in settlement. If you are a platform, like Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and co, normally you don't have the power to vet posts and decide for people what passes as right or wrong... But in the early days of the platforms, they were facing lots of legal challenges, The law makers inserted that section in the Constitution granting them immunity from legal suites... The platforms have since abused this privilege...they now shut down whoever they chose to however they want...nobody has attacked the freedom of speech any more than these platforms... |
This is long overdue I see most people don't understand the consequence of that section of the law...Twitter and other big techs can willfully silence opposition voices and no legal action can be taken against them. Any body with any shred of reasoning knows Twitter is extremely biased and political. If they must have the power to censor, in which case they decide what is right or wrong, they must also face the consequences when the wrongly flags someone. Nobody should have the power over what we should say or shouldn't say...that's what dictators do ... If this is the only thing the president achieves before he leaves office, then he has won one for freedom of speech |
Raydos:Stop contemplating, join ASAP... Good people's refusal to join politics is the reason we have mentally deranged leader plunging us to hell |
They're all part of the bigger problem we face in this country. As long as we continue to celebrate these criminals we will never get it right. Lack of Critical thinking is becoming an incurable sickness with Nigerians How anybody holds these criminals in high esteem is seriously beyond me. These dude had 6 years to try and make a change, but he made zero, I mean, zero change. And here we are, some people are already thinking of repackaging and reselling this failure to us. We leave renowned and established technocrats out of election, then complain when politicians screw us... We really need to change our way of thinking, but of course, we have a broken school system for a reason. |
lekki1444:Site doesn't work |
Guyoo:From my experience, this used to be the case. These days it's extremely hard to see an ecommerce site weather local or Western not requiring otp... Can you suggest one such site ? |
Princewill1:That used to be the case, now they all do |
nedekid:That was years back, otp was not required for online transaction...now, with otp, it's extremely hard... Otp provides a third layer of security |
Barka00:More wisdom to you...I appreciate your closing remark: "there is no right reason to hate this man" God bless all who stand for truth in the face of oppression. And he's only exercising his constitutional right. Biden would have done the exact same thing. Hillary demanded that Biden doesn't concede in any condition if he had lost...all I see here is double standard... If you won squarely, you have nothing to fear, let the law run it's full course. |
Jackson105:You wish... |
2nattie:There are reports of software glitches, Reports of GOP representatives blocked from observing the counting Reports of some states bringing in ballots when counting already began contrary to states constitutional legislation Hundreds of signed affidavits from federal workers ready to testify ... Just because the MSM said no evidence doesn't mean there isn't. Starting from next week, hearing will be opened to some of these witnesses to come forth with their story in Pennsylvania according to the speaker of house |
tope777:Let me also educate you: The speaker of Pennsylvania state assembly, a GOP, today has said no certification of electoral college until all allegations are cleared in court. The unfolding events will interest you ... Patience is all you need |
Chizysean:Don't mind clowns up here masturbating over every mention of Trump. These people are fighting for their right to fair voting system in the face of an obvious irregularities against the media pushing thier narratives down people's throat, and clowns who can't demand for steady electricity from their govt, clowns who only think with their stomach, clowns that think of nothing but Visa, want to educate them on their right |
Jackson105:In your frickin mind...70 million legit vote cannot be a sign of rejection...when this all settles we will know who wins. MSM don't decide winner, the electoral college does. Certification can only come happen when all counting are dully certified...the Gop controls majority in these state's legislative arm, and at worse, supreme Court might have to decide the election. It has happened before in Al Gore vs Bush, it will happen again. If you think this is over because the MSM said it is, think again. The evidence for fraud is massive and cannot be swept under the carpet ... Trump is born for moments like these |
patrickmuf:Even now they are so peaceful, lovely and intelligent people, except of course the Muslim populated regions. I once had an encounter with two Ethiopian ladies sometimes last year, they're nothing short of angels prompting me to do a Google search on them and the feedback from across the world was unbelievable... |
DropsMic:Wow, the art work is simply breathtaking. If it was Europe, they would have listed it as one of the wonders of the world... |
5thcolm:That's the point: media journalism isn't about reporting what you want instead it's about telling it as it happened. This isn't about Trump, but more about the fact that the MSM can hang up against you disregarding the people's choice. Think for a moment: with years after years of bad publicity and voters suppression, he still pull in astounding 70 million votes. He's the people's choice. The media is imposing Biden on the country and hope they don't live to regret it. |
Media now has become a tool of oppression and funny how most people don't see that yet. Journalism is about reporting things as they happen, but imagine the entire MSM refusing to report and acknowledge that at least proportionate amount of people have reservation over the election results. The media is the new mob. |
Fooolish man. Resigning because you couldn't keep up with fickle emotional people and their virtue signaling. He just bowed to virtue signal mobs, and there is nothing courageous about what he did. These people keep changing words and language to suit their narratives and consequently control our lives... He should have his resignation speech ready for his next job because he is sure to misgender someone soon |
ThatFairGuy:For four years Dems cried foul and couldn't get over losing the election to Trump. When interviewed, Hilary advised Biden not to concede the election no matter what. The fact is, the vote of 70million citizens are hanging on the line in what appears to be a well orchestrated rigging. But unlike most republicans, Trump is a fighter and he will see this one to it's logical end even if the supreme Court wades in. I wonder why the Dems are concerned over verifying the votes. Only guilty conscience would oppose to recount and validation. |
Al Gore was announced by the press in 2000 untill supreme Court declared George Bush winner of that election. What we can be sure of is that if there were any irregularities like it's reported, Trump's team will get to the bottom of it. America's election is too important to be mared by such report of gross illegality. Now, Nigerian politicians can rig openly and unhinged because, of course, " no country's election is perfect. Not even America's" |
